Ema was assaulted and saved by one of her brothers. This is a one shot of her after and who she clings to.

After school, Ema split off from Yusuke. She wanted to go to a book store in town. After a few months of living with the Asahina's, she knew where most of the stores were, so she ducked down a small side street to lessen her time.

There was only one other person on the street, an average height male in his early thirties, with blonde hair and glasses.

As Ema went to pass by, she felt his gaze all over her body and shivered. Move faster, she thought. Get out of this street and into the main one.

But right as she passed by, he spun quickly. He pushed her up against the brick wall beside her into the shade of the buildings across them.

He had one arm on each side of her face, leaning towards her. "What is a beautiful girl like you doing out here all alone?" His blue eyes looked her up and down.

Ema knew the look in his eyes wasn't just him calling her beautiful. He was looking at places she didn't want to be looked at, her body shaking in response to the dirty feeling.

Ema attempted to turn and walk, but he pushed her shoulders back to the wall.

"Where do you think you're going? I think you need to pay me a favor if you want to keep walking." He leaned in and kissed her.

Shoving hard, Ema broke her mouth away. "Stop please let me go." She was crying, her voice shaking with fear.

He grabbed a handful of her hair. "How dare you." He tried to use his knee to force her legs apart, but Ema was using all her strength to hold them closed.

"Stop please" she said louder.

"Shut up!" He punched her mouth and then tried to cover her mouth with his hand.

This is your chance, she thought. She clamped her mouth down hard on his hand. Her teeth sank all the way in and she wasn't going to let go. His blood began to fill her mouth.

"Two can play this game!" He pulled her hair and exposed her neck and bit her.

Ema cried out. But that's when she heard it. Someone was coming up the street quickly.

She heard the punch when it landed. Heard the guy take off running. She sank to the ground as her savior chased the man to the end of the street. She was shaking uncontrollably. Her tears clouded her vision.

Ema could feel the disgusting man's blood on her face. The lingering touch of his leg on hers. She was disgusted. She started to sob.

Her savior came back and knelt beside her. He was talking to her, she could his voice but not the words. It was a voice she recognized.

A gently hand tilted her head up. She looked up into Natsume's eyes. She wouldn't meet his look. The look of utter despair and pity she knew he had on his face. She didn't want to know what her older brother thought of her in this moment.

She was shaking more, and her breathing accelerated.

I can't breathe, she thought. I'm going to die. She couldn't control it, couldn't calm down. And she knew the moment that she had slipped past the point of control. She felt her uncles start to spasm, her head start to vibrate.

Stop stop stop stop

Her mind was trapped inside her body, she couldn't speak, couldn't breathe. Natsume was on his phone, then he was holding her.

"Ema its okay," he laid her flat on the ground, using his suit jacket as a pillow. "Help is coming, it's alright, breathe Ema. Please breathe."

He kept his calm which is what she focused on. He was calm, mimic him. She tried to match his pace but it was still too fast.

Not enough air.

She could see the paramedics as they approached, carrying a stretcher. No no no no I don't want to go. Her hand clenched around Natsume's shirt. Her breathing accelerated again. She could feel the shaking begin. Her teeth clenched up and her body started to thrash.

Natsume was explaining what happened to the paramedics. He followed them into the ambulance.

When her muscles were under her control again she tried to get up. She was pushing against them. I want out.

"Don't touch me!" She screamed. She was panting hard, not getting enough oxygen.

Ema really lost it when they started to strap her arms down. She began to kick, so her feet were next. They injected her with something, and placed an oxygen mask over her mouth.

Ema could hear them explaining what they were giving her to Natsume. A tranquilizer? A medication to block seizures?

They unloaded her at the hospital and wheeled her. Another voice she recognized.

But at this one, she wanted to find the owner. She started to roll her head until her eyes landed on Masaomi. He was holding the railing of her bed.

Ema could hardly feel her limbs. She tugged on the restraints.

Masaomi turned to yell at Natsume. "I'm going back into the ER with her. Stay in the waiting room and I'll update you."

Ema was glad it was Masaomi by her side now. She trusted and loved all of her brothers, but Masaomi was the one she wanted to be with.

Once in the ER, she got a private room. Masaomi sat beside her while a nurse came in to document everything.

Ema couldn't feel her own body, but she could move if she wanted to. It almost felt like she was floating. The nurse took swabs of the blood, pictures of the cuts and bruises. She ran floss between her teeth to catch any skin that got stuck.

Each item was packaged safely inside an evidence bag which would be turned over to the police. Masaomi helped her wash her face while the nurse excused herself.

"The doctor will be in in a moment."

They were alone, but Ema couldn't speak. Her words were trapped inside. Instead she silently cried.

"You're okay. Don't worry Ema, I won't leave you here alone." He gently washed the blood soft her face with a cloth. He softly wiped her tears.

Ema could see the sadness on his face, the despair in his eyes as he looked at her. But she couldn't speak, couldn't react. She was like a soulless body just moving with no purpose.

When the doctor came in and said hello, Ema couldn't explain why she reacted the way she did. Her body jerked her back from him. She grabbed onto Masaomi's arm and tried to hide behind him. Her body shaking so hard she thought she might fall.

It was him, a bandage on his hand, a bruise on his face. Blonde hair, blue eyes that were staring right her behind those glasses. She knew it was him. His voice was exactly the same.

Scream, she thought. Scream now, tell them.

But she couldn't control her mouth. She couldn't talk.

"Maybe you should step out," he was telling Masaomi.

With one look back at her, Masaomi straightened to his full height. "She's a minor. I am her legal guardian while our parents are unavailable. I'm responsible for her so I don't think I will. And also, I believe that she has the right to request a new doctor. Preferably a female after what has happened."

The sly smile on the mans face turned to a grin. His eyes, those horrible eyes, looked at Ema with desire. She knew it was him just by how he looked at her.

Once he left the room, Masaomi turned to grab her. He wrapped his arms around her in a hug. "You're safe, Ema. It was him wasn't it? He's always harassing the women up here. What are the chances he has the same injuries? Fits the description Natsume gave the police?"

He continued to hug her tightly. "I'm so sorry. I won't let him anywhere near you."

A new doctor came in and spoke to them. "We'd like to keep her overnight for observation. She had two stress induced seizures and we'd just like to make sure she's okay."

Ema shook her head. I want to leave. But she couldn't say it. Thankfully, Masaomi was on her side.

"What if, she stays here with me until my shift is over, and if she's doing okay then she gets to go home? I'll watch over herself myself." Masaomi's hand stayed on hers.

After an exam the doctor agreed. Masaomi took her to his office.

"I have to make a phone call. Stay here and lock the door. Only open it for me or for Mae. She's going to come up and bring you some clean clothes." Masaomi stepped out.

Ema sat on the couch. She was crying again, thinking over what happened. Before her mind could bring back too many details, a small knock was at the door.

"Uhm Ema right? It's Mae. I brought some clean clothes for you."

Ema opened the door to a small nurse, with black hair and green eyes. She kept her eyes down on the ground and let the woman in.

"Here, let me help you get changed." She was gently at pulling the clothes away so as not to get the blood on her again. "I'll do your hair too."

As she brushed her hair, she talked quietly to Ema. Ema was glad for the distraction.

"It happened to me once, when I was a child. I was only about 10." Mae started. She kept her eyes on Ema's hair. "I guess that why Masaomi asked me to help him. He was my doctor so he knows what happened. I can feel what you're going through."

Mae twisted a piece of hair away from Ema's face. It's okay, if you don't talk about it. It's okay if you don't talk at all. But if you ever feel like you want to talk, that's fine too." She pulled up her hair into a ponytail. "I didn't talk for a week. I was scared. They took me to a therapist, who said if I decide to talk, pick someone I trust."

She finished her hair and leaned down so she was side by side with Ema in the mirror. "I don't know if you trust all 13 of your brothers, but I'm sure there's some you're closer to. They'll all listen, and there won't judge."

She smiled, "anyways, isn't Masaomi such a cutie? He's always turning down women up here, but he's so nice."

Ema's eyes widened. Does he really get that many advances?

"He's always telling us he has someone special he loves. And that he can't imagine loving someone else. I wonder who she is?" Mae laughed. She grabbed Ema's hand. "Let's go meet up with him. He's in the children's ward, playing with the kids. You'll love it."

Masaomi's POV

He closed the door behind him and pulled out his phone. He texted Natsume first, telling him that wouldn't allow Ema to leave yet and to go home. He would finish his shift and see about bringing her home after. Then he called Ukyo.

After explaining everything to him, he said "I want to open a case against him."

"It's really up to Ema to press charges. But I will get started on al the paper work right away."

He hung up and went to work. He was with the children for a few minutes before Ema and Mae came up.

"These are my friends, Miss Ema and Miss Mae. Say hi to our little friends here."

Mae jumped right in the fun, while Ema gave a small little wave. Masaomi could see that she was upset, and in pain. He watched as she interacted with the kids, never speaking.

She would smile a tiny bit when they did something cute, but it wasn't enough to ease his mind.

His goal was to ease her mind, even for a moment. It didn't matter if it was permanent or not, he just wanted her to know the entire world wasn't evil.

The last hour of his shift, they spent in his office doing paperwork. She had sat down on his couch, him in his chair. He talked quietly, soothingly, as he went through his papers. He was telling her funny stories of all the brothers of when they were hurt or sick.

Keep talking. Distract her. He talked for a while before he glanced back at her. She had shifted to laying down and was asleep.

Good. She needs rest. Masaomi was happy because the doctor agreed that she was doing much better and could go home with him. She made him promise that he would check on her every couple of hours and not leave her alone for too long.

She warned him of the risks of Ema getting depressed or even attempting to hurt herself after something like this. Masaomi knew he would never leave her alone. He would stay by her side the entire night.

Ema began gasping in her sleep, crying. He turned to her and rubbed her back. "Ema? You're safe Ema. I'm right here beside you."

She woke with a scream. He was startled by the tears pouring down her cheeks. Very slowly and carefully, he began to wipe the away. His heart was breaking for her.

You can't cry yet. He thought. Just let him get home and into a shower alone before he breaks down.

"Let's go home." He took his jacket and zipped her up in it. She was like a lifeless doll, moving on command but never looking at you.

Masaomi knew that her attacker's shift wasn't over her in the ER, so he took her out the main entrance. He would make sure he never saw her again. Very carefully, he loaded Ema into his car and drive home in silence.

Once home, he helped Ema out and guided her up the stairs. They entered the elevator and he looked over at her. Her shoulders were slumped, red eyes staring at the ground, probably not even registering it. She was still so pale, as if she had died, and shivering.

When they reached the main floor, Ema reached her hand out and gripped the back of his lab coat. Masaomi knew she was doing it to reassure herself he was there.

"We're home. Let's go inside, it'll be safe I promise." He said gently, trying to convey his love and earnest to her.

She followed closely closely behind him, almost like a child. Her fist never loosened in his lab coat.

Ukyo was the first to greet them at the door. He took Masaomi's things and went to hang up the jacket.

"I'm so glad you're okay!" Wataru began to jump up and and down. When he started to move toward them, Tsubaki's hand came down on his shoulder.

"Remember Wataru, she might want some space right now. She isn't feeling good."

Masaomi looked around at all their worried faces. He wished it was only him here tonight, to guide her through such a horrible event. But he pushed that selfish thought aside.

"Ema, do you want to shower?"

Nodding her head, he guided her to her room so they could grab her things. He turned on the shower and left her in there.

The questions started as soon as he returned to the living room.

"Will she be okay?" Ukyo asked. "She looks..."

"I know. She'll be alright I think. She did a little better while playing with the kids in the hospital."

"We're opening a case right?" Azusa's eyes gleamed with anger. "There's no way he can get away with it. He's a doctor, he's supposed to help people!"

"Ultimately, it's her choice," Ukyo responded. "But I've already started the case if she agrees."

Masaomi was glad that all his brothers cared so much for, but a little jealous because he knew some cared more than as brothers.

As they all discussed her health and the case, Masaomi made some hot chocolate. He uses it to calm himself wherever something bad happens, and he wanted to share that with Ema.

A loud thud came from the bathroom. Masaomi was first inside, Louis right behind him.

Ema was curled in a ball, her knees to her chest, lying on the floor naked. Her eyes were wide, she was shaking, and she muttering the word stop.

Masaomi threw a towel over her to cover her up. Louis shooed everyone out and closed the door behind him.

"Chii, you're okay. Do you mind if we help you?" He helped Masaomi guide her to the chair. Masaomi was relieved it was Louis. He was leveled headed and gentle, probably the best brother equipped for this.

Louis held the towel closed over Ema, while Masaomi helped her dress. He kept his eyes averted to the side so as not to violate her. After she was dressed, Louis took her to the living room so that Masaomi could shower next.

Once the water started to hit him, he let his tears fall. He cried for Ema, who he never wanted to go through something like this. He had wanted to protect her, to always be by her side. He wanted more than to be just her big brother, he wanted to protect her as his wife. And he doesn't know if he'll ever tell her now, because he doesn't want to stress her out.

When he left the shower and returned to the living room, Ema was asleep in Louis' lap. The position she was in shot jealousy through his heart, but again, he pushed it down.

She was sitting in Louis' lap like a child, her face pressed against his neck. His arms were supporting her into an upright position.

Though she was asleep, Masaomi could tell she wasn't completely relaxed. Her face was still pinched, and her shoulders stiff. He could only wonder what she was dreaming of.

"I didn't want to move her," Louis told him. Masaomi appreciated how Louis always wanted to clarify things. He'd never do something that would someone else's feelings. Masaomi wondered if his feelings were that clear to every one.

"All that matters is that she's resting. I'm going to go help Ukyo in his study." He knew he could trust Louis to watch over her. Masaomi knocked on the study door.

"Come in."

"I wanted to lend a hand in any way I could to the case." Masaomi entered and approached Ukyo's desk.

Ukyo kept his desk covered in papers, and Masaomi never liked that about him. The chaos seemed mess with his head.

For the next hour, the pair went over every detail. The photos that were provided to the police, the DNA evidence that was submitted and awaiting results. If Ema agreed to open a case, all they would need is to test the doctor, and photograph his wounds.

After a while, there was a creak at the door. Masaomi and Ukyo looked up in unison at Louis, and Ema standing behind him.

"Uh she was looking for you, Masaomi. I told her I'd take her. Didn't think she should be alone right now," Louis' hand was holding hers gently but firm. Masaomi was again fighting his jealousy and reminding himself that she needed it.

"Thank you Louis. Do you mind making her some hot chocolate? I'm going to take her to my room." Masaomi came around the desk and replaced his hand. The butterflies in his stomach were suppressed by the situation.

Once in his room, Masaomi guided her to his bed. She sat, but immediately wrapped her arms around him. She was crying again, shaking.

Fearful that she might get worked up again, he pulled her closer, and brushed his hand through her hair.

"You're safe here, Ema. All of us are going to protect you. We love you." She stopped shaking, but he could still feel her tears soaking his shirt.

"Ema I'm so sorry. I should have been with you. You shouldn't have been alone. It should have never happened to you." His hands rubbed her back. "You mean so much to me. I wish I could erase it all, go back and undo it. Seeing you suffer like this, it hurts."

For the first time, Ema's eyes met his. He could see the swirling despair, the pain, and yet he could also see the glimmer of... hope? Was it hope he saw?

He sighed. He brought a hand up to cup her cheek. "Ema, I don't know how to confess this. But I love you. More than a sister. You're very important to me, special. And I wish I could have saved you from what happened."

He saw it bloom in her eyes. The pain and despair were pushed aside as her eyes widened and filled with happiness. He saw what his words meant to her. She didn't need to say it back. He knew she felt the same. Hesitantly, he leaned in and kissed her gently.

Louis returned with the hot chocolate, and after drinking, Ema fell asleep beside Masaomi. He allowed her to decide how she wanted to sleep, while he just laid as still as possible. She placed her head on his chest, and he wrapped an arm on her waist. Her hands were tucked under her chin.

It was adorable how she slept, though Masaomi never forgot why they were in this position. She awoke with nightmares all night, but he was there to hold her and coax her back to sleep. The next day, Ema agreed to open a case much to his relief. She still didn't speak, until after the case was won. And she turned to Masaomi in her quiet way and whispered "Thank you."

After all was said and done, she continued to have nightmares, and would sneak to Masaomi's room in the night. She wouldn't want to wake him, and instead would stand with her forehead pressed to his door. But he always knew, somehow, when she was coming. And he would be ready to welcome her in to his bed.
