"Bakugou. Eyes open. You've got a visitor."

The man mentioned groaned as his eyes essentially creaked open. His brain fogged, he glanced around in confusion as his mind realized where he was.

He was in the local jail, the other side of where he usually was. "What the-"

"Hey! Don't make me repeat myself. Move it, now." The blonde turned his attention to the man in blue, who happened to sport a miffed expression.

Bakugou stood up and walked to the gated door. "I'm here. Now what." His voice had a small tinge of annoyance.

And the officer held a look of contempt.

"You have a visitor. Don't get too cocky now." And with that, the officer walked away.

Bakugou watched him leave in confusion. "Who?"

"Hello, Kacchan."

The blonde froze, knowing exactly who the newcomer was. He turned his head to his left, where a casually dressed Izuku Midoriya stood.

"Deku."

"Tch."

Bakugou's eyes narrowed a slight amount. 'Did he just scoff at me?'

"Deku-"

The green haired hero shook his head. "Don't Deku me. Do you even know how much shit you're in right now?"

The blonde looked away. "Yeah, raccoon eyes said the same thing."

"Mina."

"Excuse me?"

Izuku's eyes shone with annoyance. "She has a name, Kachaan. It's Mina. Use it."

Bakugou scoffed. "And so what if I don't?"

"Then our future deal is off the table."

'Oh yeah. I forgot they were dating'

.

.

.

'Wait…'

Bakugou looked at the hero with a quizzical stare.

"What deal?"

Izuku started to turn. "I'll have the officer escort you to a more… private… room, then I'll explain. Just keep you attitude and mouth shut."

The blonde wanted to protest, he needed to know how to get out of this hellhole now. However, if there was one thing he learned during his time at UA was patience.

And he sucked ass at the craft.

So he slumped into the concrete slab of a bed, wincing at how his bones rattled at the texture. The pain faded away as we waited for the officer, anxious for what was to come.

Eventually, that moment came.

"Bakugou, you're up. Hurry now."

The blonde was quick to follow the man.

"Midoriya, are you sure he's the one?"

The vernadette let out a long breath as he thought of what to say. In all honesty, he was kind of nervous himself. Shaking any doubts from his head, he smiled.

"Yeah, he has to be."

An opening of a steel door bought his attention. "Midoriya, sir? I've brought him."

The hero smiled kindly at the officer. "My thanks to you, sir. That'll be all." The officer nodded as he not so gently pushed the blonde in the room, closing the door behind him.

The blonde immediately noticed the hero sitting a short distance away. His hands tended up, and his temper flared. "What do you want?"

The vernadette stared at the ex hero with a stern glint in his eyes. "Shut up and sit down. We don't have a lot of time."

Bakugou stilled. "What?"

"I didn't stutter, did I?"

With newfound haste, Bakugou took a seat. It wasn't ordinary for his childhood friend to be like this.

It was slightly unnerving, he had to admit.

He shook those thoughts away. "What do you mean, you don't have a lot of time?"

Izuku glanced away, opting to look at his hands. "How long have you known me, Kachaan?"

Bakugou scowled slightly at the evaded response. "About twenty years, if I remember correctly. What brings this on?"

Izuku didn't look at him. "So for all those years, you'd say I'm lenient on second chances, correct?"

"Duh. It's what makes you so damn suffocating."

If Izuku had a response to that, he let it go. "Kachaan, listen to what I'm saying. I'm giving you a second chance. Now stop talking and hear me out."

The blonde quickly shut his mouth.

"As we both know, the league of villains is slowly rising to power once more. Two years ago, we assumed they were gone after the capture of Tomura Shigaraki. However, that doesn't seem to be the case."

Bakugou was slightly confused. He'd never heard anymore talk about the league. It was plausible for them to rise back up, considering people gained dangerous quirks and trained them everyday, so maybe someone else took to mantle of the head of the league.

Izuku sighed. "I'm guessing that this is the first time you're hearing about this. Maybe if you actually listened to the top ten briefings, then you'd have a sliver of an idea of what I'm talking about."

Bakugou looked away, slightly miffed. As usual, Izuku hit the nail on the head.

"Do you remember two villains that go by the names of Toga and Dabi?" Bakugou noticed that Deku's phone was open and a call was still on, which means someone was listening. So what was going on.

He nodded. "They both participated in my kidnapping our first year at that damn school, and caused trouble for some time."

Izuku nodded. "Precisely. Well, they're back, and with an army. Now, that's terrible for us. Thousands of people will die if we don't do anything, and a war will break out."

Bakugou gulped. That definitely wouldn't be great.

Izuku continued. "Now, do you know who's behind it all?" Bakugou shook his head. Izuku leaned forward, his voice a whisper. "It's-" an alarm sounded, signaling the end of their session. Izuku sighed, shaking his head in disappointment. He looked towards his ex classmate. "Meet me at this location in a week. One in the afternoon. Do not be late." Tossing a card in his direction, he walked out. Bakugou only stared at the back of the number one hero.

Then, he saw the briefcase that was left. Eyeing the card that landed on the case, he read "open the case". Looking around, he made sure no one was entering the room, and grabbed the case. In it was a pair of gauntlets with a sort of arm brace connected, much like the ones he wore in high school (albeit smaller). There was one note attached to the gauntlets.

"Use them."

Bakugou grinned.

All was quiet in the police station. The cop that escorted Bakugou to the room had no qualms escorting Midoriya to the exit, excitedly chattering about his fourteen year old son who was starting at the number one's alma mater. Izuku grinned, wishing him and his kid good luck to their futures, before eyeing the inside of the station. He chuckled. "It's show time." He walked out, keys in hand.

After about thirty seconds, the room Bakugou was in exploded. The blonde sprinted to the exit, taking care to not hit any officer running his way. He laughed. "My arms don't hurt anymore! I would thank Deku, but his head is so far up his ass that I won't!" He ran down the street, preparing for liftoff.

Like a charm, he flew through the air, laughing like a child on a rollercoaster. He missed this. He felt like he was on top of the world. He was free!

After a while, he landed near a harbour, careful to prevent onlookers from spotting him. He knew the cops were onto him by now, making him an outlaw. He sat to think. He had a week to meet with Deku. So he needed to find a place to stay, food, resources, possibly a new identity.

Based on the responses of his past friends, he knew they would just turn him in without hesitation. Although, even with their grudges, Deku was the first to give him this second chance. He had to wonder why that was. And-

"Katsuki?"

His eyes widened, muscles tensing. His head swerved to his right, alarms in his head ringing. He froze in place when he noticed his ex classmate Ochako Uraraka looking at him, hero attire still on. "I, uh, I hm"

"I thought you were in custody?" Her round eyes pierced through him. Should he tell the truth? Or sugarcoat it?

"I, I escaped." Oh, he did not like the glare she gave him for that. "Wait! Hear me out, cheeks."

She narrowed her eyes as she tentatively nodded. "You have one chance, Katsuki."

"I saved a woman from a mugging, after I was told not to do any hero work, then I busted out of jail thanks to Deku. Now I'm here. Solid?" His pride was shot down so fast when he talked. Saying the words "Thanks" and "Deku" left a sour taste in his lips.

She thought for a second, and ultimately accepted this new reality. The explosive blonde never gave the greenette any credit, so he must be telling the truth. "I assume you're homeless now?"

He nodded. "I see Deku in a week so he can explain everything. So yeah, I'm on my own – not that I need the help! I can make it on my own just fine!" His head tilted upwards in a stuffy fashion.

She nodded. "Alright, good luck. I was headed home from patrol with Froppy – you remember Tsuyu, right? – so, I'll be headed off. Later!" She walked away, prompting Katsuki to panic.

"Wait!"

She turned around, eyes briefly showing amusement. "Yes?"

"I, uh, you wouldn't happen to have room for one more in your place? At least just for the week? I kinda need a place to stay. I'll get caught just being out here." His head lowered to the ground, not daring to show the bubbly brunette how ashamed he really was.

She walked up to him, a smirk spreading. "Oh, does the big bad number five hero need help? And here he was just now saying that he'll do just fine on his own. Which meeeeans that you need a friend, right?"

'She's enjoying this way too much.' "Y-yes. I need a f-f-f-fr- oh GOD DAMMIT!"

She laughed. "Don't give yourself a stroke now. Yeah, I'll help you, only because it's something Deku would do, and he's kind of my best friend. But won't you have a higher chance of being caught if you stuck with me?"

"If I change my hair and wear a mask I'll be fine."

"You need to change a lot more than that to pass as a completely different person. Your personality, for one."

"What the hell's wrong with my personality?"

She giggled. "That. You can change how you look, but the way you hold yourself and talk is a dead giveaway. Try being nice, for once."

"I saved those kids, remember?"

Her face was blank. "Yeah, in high school. Now you just bust villains."

He grumbled, knowing he couldn't win.

He smiled brightly. "We can change you when we get to my place! Now come on! Before daytime comes!"

And thus began their trip to the city.

...

On the other side of the city, a man an a three piece suit was monitoring cameras of footage found all around the city. There was about a hundred cameras, so keeping watch was quite the job.

"Mr. President!"

The man turned around. His eyes narrowed. "What is it?"

"It's Bakugou. He's escaped."

The president scowled. I thought I told that brat to stop with the hero work! And now he's gone? Who let him free?"

The informant broke into a sweat. "We're not sure, sir. The cameras went back online before the chaos occurred at the station. We can try to find more-"

"No, you've done enough. Thank you."

He didn't bother to see the meek man out. His scowl grew further. "I hope you don't throw a wrench in my plans, Bakugou. It'd be a shame if you went missing." He chuckled as he resumed his post at the computers, playing footage from hours ago. His eyes widened slightly at a green haired man who exited the station, just before the explosion. He paused the footage, zooming in on the figure.

"Now now, who could you be?"
