Chapter 2: Break-in at Bush Rescue
(Buramudgee)
Link and Aryll arrived in the town of Buramudgee after exiting a portal Kyrin made for them.
Aryll- So this is where your Tasmanian tiger friend lives?
Link- This is his hometown, but I don't know where his house is in this place.
Aryll- Please tell me we're not gonna have to search this whole town and asking around for where Ty lives?
Link- Relax. I don't know his address in Buramudgee, but I know where he'll most likely be found. Ty has a workshop located at Rainbow Cliffs which is just on the outskirts of this town.
Aryll- Rainbow Cliffs? Why do they call it that?
Link- There's a waterfall always running and if you look at it from the bottom of the ravine, you'll see a never-ending rainbow. Only place in Buramudgee I've seen since Mario formed this team of ours.
(Bush Rescue's HQ)
Link and Aryll arrived at the building, but it was locked. Link walked up to the door and tried to look through the window.
Link- I guess Ty or anyone else from Bush Rescue are here today. Now what will we do?
Then Link noticed Aryll looking towards the back of the building.
Link- Aryll, is something wrong?
Aryll- Yeah…why is that window around the back entrance broken…?
Link rushed over and took a look at the broken window. After examining it, Link realized the window was recently broken.
(Inside Ty's lab)
Boss Cass had gotten into Ty's lab and was going through the draws in cabinets. The lights were off and Boss Cass was using a flashlight while looking around, probably not draw attention to himself.
Boss Cass- Where are those plans?! My frill neck spies said that orange rat had blueprints for that machine somewhere in here! But who knew Ty had so many plans for different Bunyips cluttering work space? Finding what I'm looking for will be like finding a needle in a haystack.
But as Boss Cass continued to go Ty's documents, the lights for the room suddenly turned on. When Boss Cass turned around, he saw Link and Aryll standing where the light switch was.
Boss Cass- What the?! Another member of the Super Mario Brothers' Team?! That can't be! Karlos told me his Ty would be out today!
Aryll- A cassowary? What's he doing here?
Link- That's Boss Cass. He's Ty's nemesis just as Ganondorf is mine.
Boss Cass- What on Earth are you even doing here, swordsman? You're a bit far from the land of Hyrule.
Link- Following Ganondorf's trail to Australia.
Boss Cass- I'm not involved with that wizard…this time that is. Yes, we're still part of Bowser's Team, but I'm here on my own accord and I don't need to pick a fight with you. Just let me find what I came for before Ty returns from his family drive and we can avoid conflict.
Link- I don't think so…
Link drew the Master Sword from his back.
Link- If you've broken into Ty's lab for something, it can't be good for Ty or Buramudgee. And I can't let you do that to my friend, Ty.
Boss Cass- Shit! And here I thought I could do this without any hassle!
Boss Cass pulls out a rocket launcher and tries to launch it at Link. However, Link's Master Sword slices the rocket like butter before it could explode.
Boss Cass- ****! I completely forgot about your enchanted sword…
Link fired a sword beam and Boss Cass barely managed to duck under it. Boss Cass then tried to fire another rocket at Link again, but a magic barrier completely blocked the rocket. Boss Cass looked towards Aryll and saw her using Hylia's magic to protect Link.
Link- Guess you don't know. I might be a swordsman, but my sister is a magic user.
But before Boss Cass could do anything, a boomerang with electric properties was tossed at Boss Cass from behind, giving Boss Cass a major shock.
Ty's voice- Alright, Boss Cass…what's the big idea breaking into me lab?
Boss Cass looked behind him and saw Ty at the door holding his Thunderangs.
Boss Cass- Damn it! Ty returned from that family road trip so soon?
Ty- I had a secret alarm in me desk that triggers when opened, mate. I rushed back after it went off.
Boss Cass- Can't take both at once…
Boss Cass quickly pulls out a smoke bomb and used it to make a smokescreen to escape.
Ty- Boss Cass got away, but I wasn't expecting to see you here, Link. What brings you to Buramudgee, mate?
Link- Aryll and I were following Ganondorf and the trail led to Australia. Since you live in this area, figured you'd be the best hero to ask for assistance. But what was Boss Cass looking for in your lab?
Ty- Me and Julius were working on nano-drones to help restore damaged tissues in living beings. Sort of an experimental medical treatment with technology. Boss Cass wants it at a means of improving his Uber Frill monsters.
Suddenly, a portal opens up in Ty's lab and Kyrin exits the portal.
Ty- Kyrin?
Aryll- I take it the reason you're here is because you and your father figured out what Ganondorf stole?
Kyrin- Yes, took longer than expected, but we found out that the page he pulled from that book were instructions for a forbidden spell…and not a good one either.
Link- What spell?
Kyrin- A spell called the Dead Possum which can bring back the dead.
Ty- That sounds preposterous, mate.
Kyrin- Ty…that so-called preposterous spell is actually what my brother used to bring several of those villains you and the other heroes have vanquished back to life.
Aryll- Why is the spell forbidden? It's not like it turns them into undead zombies since Vatii seems just the same as he was before my brother killed him.
Kyrin- Because there is a price to pay for using this spell. A price that Tabuu obviously doesn't mind paying. The Dead Possum brings someone back from the dead, but at the cost of another living being. In short, a life for bringing back another life. Not to mention, the one being brought back from the dead has their soul placed in the body of the one sacrificed and their health and physical condition is about as good as the one who previously inhabited the body. However, the Dead Possum is not only forbidden, but it's also a very advanced spell. Even more so than the Art of Body Switching spell Hades used on you not that long ago.
Ty- Kyrin…I'd appreciate it if you didn't remind me of that, mate! I'm still trying to forget about how I was crammed into Shantae's body like that!
Link- Hey, I was crammed into your body, Ty.
Aryll- FOCUS!
Link and Ty (at the same time)- Sorry!
Kyrin- I'm not sure what Ganondorf intends to use the Dead Possum for, especially since it's supposed to be too much for his level of magic, but it can't be good.
Ty- Then I guess you'll be needing me help, mate!
Link- You're saying you want to help me find Ganondorf?
Ty- You helped stopped Boss Cass from stealing me stuff and we're both members of the Super Mario Brothers' Team, mate. It'd be me pleasure!
