Sandy Had gotten the call from Static early enough in the morning to change up the dinner menu, due to his longtime friend coming to join them for dinner. He begged her to show off her southern cooking talent, and she reluctantly agreed. Since she became pregnant with the twins some time ago, she swore she'd be less of a show off, but when ask to preform a task from her southern roots she found it hard not to overly obsess to be the best. Her Texas roots and her work were definitely her greatest thrills to thrive at… and try as she might, she couldn't help but want to shine brightly with regards to either.

The female squirrel counted her blessings that the twins were getting less fussy as they got older. However, now they were well into their full-on mischief faze, and that presented a whole new challenge. Luckily, Sandy was able to keep them busy as she watched the ribs, while in the oven, and prep them for the grill. She finished the side dishes long before Static walked through the door at 5:32 in the evening.

Static took his suit jacket off and laid it across the back of the sofa as he rolled the long sleeves on his pressed shirt up. He smiled as she walked into the kitchen and greeted Sandy with a kiss before heading to the dinning area and kneeling down to greet the two 10-month-old children currently strapped into sperate play chairs as they bounced happily.

"Oh, I see. Daddy isn't worth greeting when you have toy car parts to chew on." He rubbed them both on their heads getting Tex's attention enough for her to look up while still chomping on the plastic car phone, but giving him a smile despite her full mouth. "Aww! That's my girl." He rubbed the young girl, and her brother, on the head again, yet still not getting much of a response from Wes as the boy chewed on the steering wheel on the bouncy chairs' colorful fake car dash. "How was your day, babe?" He asked as he made his way back to Sandy and wrapped his arms around her from behind. He then pressed his face into the back of her neck as he smelled her. After a long exhale he then lightly kissed the back of her neck as he dug his fingers into her hips. "You smell good enough to eat. Maybe I should cancel our dinner plans and just have you instead."

Sandy rolled her eyes and pulled away from him to check on the ribs again. "Bit early in our relationship ta be considering cannibalism. Besides…" She closed the oven and turned to face her lover. "I'd get ta yer sorry butt long before ya'd get ta me."

"Oh, is that so?" His smile quickly transformed into a sly grin. "Are you really in that much of a rush to get me in your mouth?"

"Yer the worst." She gave him a small grin back before going in for a fast kiss on the lips. "I gotta get these ribs on the grill out back, and then I can clean up fer yer friend." She stated as she turned and pulled the meat out of the oven and made her way towards the back door, that happened to be already open.

"I guess I'll start getting these two ready." Static smiled as he reproached his simi-adopted children.

"They likely need changed!" Sandy called back to him.

"I got it!" He called back to her as he picked Wes up causing the young boy to start fussing as he was taken away from his new favorite chew toy. "Don't cry buddy." He bounced the youth in his arms causing him to cheer up slightly. "After your mom is done with her shower, she's gonna feed you some nice fresh milk, and you better enjoy it because in two months those jugs are gonna be just for me. Then you'll have a reason to cry." Wes smiled up at Static as he laid the crossbreed boy on the changing table. "Glad we understand one another." Static smiled back before he started to undress Wes so he could clean him up and then move on to getting the boys sister ready as well.

By the time 6:45 rolled around they were all finally ready for their guest. Both adults were able to fit in a shower. The kids were fed and changed, although Wes needed his clothing changed two times due to the fact he found his mother's negative reaction of him spitting out his sweet potato baby food, all over himself, hilarious. Static just threw on some tan dress slacks and a dark blue polo shirt, and Sandy went with a dark purple long sleeved v-neck shirt and some black slacks.

The table was set and the food laid out and cooling down. Toys were set out on the highchairs so the children could stay entertained as the adults ate their meal and conversed. At that moment Sandy took a sigh of relief that they weren't running late. She hadn't entertained guests in quite some time, and definitely didn't want to let Static down. She made a mental note to give herself more time for future engagements.

Sandy was about to take a seat on the couch and relax for a moment when she stopped and turned abruptly from a knock on the door. She had been extremely nervous meeting Static's parents, but for some reason meeting his best friend made her even more uneasy. She knew nothing about this man, as Static told her she'd have to meet him to understand him. A cold sweat overtook her body as Static went to answer the door. She could hear the two men greeting each other like college kids from the other room. She took a deep breath squared her shoulders and pushed her doubts aside. This was her house too, and no frat boy from her soon-to-be-husband's past would be able to sway who she was… Even if it embarrassed him.
