Arc I : Ô Prometheus !
Chapitre I : Espoir pour un Monde Nouveau
I woke up to a dark place, one that I couldn't recognise. It was a place where I couldn't see anything... Hopefully, I wasn't kidnapped by a paedophile. And hopefully, I would stay calm, being panicked was never a good choice in an unknown situation like this.
But, do I still remember what happened before? If no, I was screwed... If yes, all would be good.
So, so...
Yes, I remembered being stabbed to death... Oh Lucky me! I laughed drily.
And I heard a voice multiple times while dying... But that voice bore surprising similarities to the [Voice of the World] from Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken... It couldn't be! No, no, that was impossible! I couldn't be reincarnated and be isekai'd into that world?!
I couldn't help but smile because I realised that logic didn't work that well with fantasy fiction. But finally!
YES YES YES YES YES! The boring waiting game of my teenage years had finally come to an end! And who didn't dream of being reincarnated or be isekai'd? It was a dream come true!
I also realised that Mikami Satoru died exactly like me. Was it fate? This couldn't merely be a coincidence... There maybe could be even a whole plot centred on that mysterious coincidence... Who knew? I smiled evilly. But I should have realised earlier that something was amiss during my death... Especially since I consumed way too much fantasy genre stories. I could even have acquired more completely op skills, but no... How incompetent was I to miss that one chance to gain absolutely godly skills?! But I didn't really care that much. I was after all reincarnated and isekai'd in another world!
I would have made a three step laugh if I knew better about the situation I was in. But with me being here meant big things, big, big things. The ramifications of my knowledge could very well change the entire story. But I would need to investigate in which timeline I was in. Was I from the Webnovel? From the Light Novel? From the Anime? From the Manga? From a failed timeline? Or from a completely alternate universe? My entire survival depended on that answer. An enormous grin made its way on my face. How exciting!
It was also kind of deceiving to be reincarnated at this exact time. I was truly looking forward to see the future of humanity back home! But I should also count myself lucky to be reincarnated at that exact same time... Well, the world was kind of burning down in 2021... I sighed. A global pandemic, economic incertitude, wars, tensions and so on... Humanity never changed, it never learned from its so-tragic past. But that was also something that rendered it so interesting!
But, first order of business in this new world! I would need to asses all the skills I gained in the wake of my own death. It wouldn't do if I came face to face with monsters without any knowledge of my skills.
If I remembered well, I first did acquire the Extra Skill [Espoir Épris]. Amusing that the name was in French, well it made it easier for me to understand the skill. But based on the name, it should be a skill relying on hope and passion. It sounded like a buff or a charisma/luck boost like Masayuki's Skill.
The second wasn't per say a really useful skill but more like a basic ability or a common skill: Heightened Perception. As the name indicated, my perception was heightened. But from what I already gathered; I could already assume that it was passive.
The third was a resistance: Emotional Resistance. It should help retain a better control over my emotions.
The fourth was also a resistance: Piercing Weapon Resistance. It should procure a better resistance against piercing weapons.
The fifth, another resistance: Melee Attack Resistance. It should by all means procure resistance against melee attack (sword, knife, mace, and so on).
The sixth, another resistance... I sighed. So, Pain Nullification should cancel all pains. Like that, I couldn't suffer like a certain protagonist named after a constellation. Cough, cough (mental cough).
The seventh was my second Extra Skill/first Magic: [Règne de Sang]. If I imagined it right, based on my assumptions, this skill should be able to manipulate blood. To which level? I didn't know, I would need to do some experimentation. But just based on the name, this skill could have great offensive and defensive potential and maybe even healing(?) potential.
The eight was my first Unique Skill: [Alternative]. This skill... Fumu, it could mean many, many things. After all, at the time I received this skill, I was thinking about possibilities. So, this could probably mess up with probabilities, statistics, percentage, outcomes, and luck. I would need to be very proficient to be able to use this skill to its very limits. But if I was lucky, this skill could have the potential to interfere with parallels worlds and maybe time itself. But it would probably need to first evolve into an ultimate skill to do as much I think, it surely would be a mix between Chloe's and Veldora's Ultimate Skills. But these were only assumptions, I hoped to not be deceived.
The ninth was another resistance: Cold Resistance. This one would prove to be quite useful, I after all, had something related to ice magic. It wouldn't do if I froze myself with my own magic, it would be pretty stupid. And it should successfully provide resistance against the natural cold.
The tenth was my third Extra Skill/second Magic: [Magie des Neiges]. As I mentioned earlier, this one was related to ice magic (even if the name in French said snow). Like with my [Règne de Sang] , it should probably have great offensive and defensive potential. To which extent? Don't know, probably my imagination.
The eleventh was my second Unique Skill: [Mystères des Étoiles]. This one was the most interesting and had the most potential. Just based on the name, I knew it had something to do with knowledge, and knowledge was power! But more seriously, I think this one could give me answers like Rimuru's [Great Sage]. And I knew too well how much of a cheat [Great Sage] was. But I don't think it would be able to evolve into [Raphael, Lord of Wisdom]. It probably would be able to evolve into [Information King Akashic Records] , but that was very late game. Fufu. But I would first need to access the skill to use it.
The twelve was my fourth Extra Skill: [Marionnettiste]. This one had a pretty ambiguous meaning for my assumptions... It could either be something resembling 'Demon Lord' Clayman's Skill [Puppeteer] or this could be the creation of puppets or to be even a mix of the two. Either way, it could prove itself to be useful.
So, that made it to twelve in total: 5 Resistances abilities, 1 Common Skill, 4 Extra Skills (2 Magic included) and 2 Unique Skills. Frankly, my abilities were pretty varied and powerful. As expected, being reincarnated was such a cheat in this world. I could probably place myself toward B rank, and toward A if I mastered a little bit my skills.
After all that, I still couldn't see a thing in this darkness even with my Heightened Perception... I should probably learn the Extra Skill [Magic Sense] , it should be relatively easy.
...I- I couldn't remember the method to learn it... I sighed. So, I should try to access my Unique Skill [Mystères des Étoiles].
'Hey, [Mystères des Étoiles] , how do I learn the Extra Skill [Magic Sense]?'
‹Answer. To learn the Extra Skill [Magic Sense] , master has to move the magic around with the force in master's body. Then master would have to feel the magicules within the atmosphere. ›
I was surprised because generally a Unique Skill of that calibre needed at least ninety days to successfully fuse with one's soul like [Great Sage]. If only I asked earlier my questions about my skills before making assumptions... But too late, I didn't want to review them a second time.
But unlike [Great Sage] , it didn't diverted the voice of the 'Voice of the World' to answer me. [Mystères des Étoiles] had a voice filled with mysteries. I couldn't even detect if it had a feminine or masculine type of voice, it only eluded a sense of neutrality.
Hum. But it was a little bit like Chakra and Ki... It should be relatively easy. Now, I remembered that this skill was in reality not really a sense, it first observed the waves (of light and of sound) in the magicules nearby in the atmosphere and then retransmitted said-information to calculate how the area around looked and sounded like. It was Veldora that explained it to Rimuru if I remembered well enough.
It even prevented ambushes because with it, one had a vision of 360, and if one lost their sight or hearing, they could continue fighting without too much problems.
I first felt the strength circulating thorough all of my body, then I felt the magicules moving within. And finally, I felt the magicules in the area nearby.
«Confirmed. Extra skill [Magic Sense]…successfully acquired»
Fufu. Now, I could confirm where I was. I activated [Magic Sense] and then—
It was splendid! I could confirm that I was in a cave, surely the Sealed Cave of Veldora. I could see large amounts of magic ores and Hipokte Grass. I could probably meet Rimuru, the slime that we all came to love. Fumu.
It truly was bizarre to finally regain a clean sight and to get used to the fact I no longer needed glasses. It kind of felt funny to no longer have myopia. It sure was convenient to obtain a new body. But I couldn't no longer adjust my glasses... It was kind of a cool move and it was a sort of habit. I sighed.
But the amount of information sure was enormous! If I was still like in my old body, I would have fried my brain. But for this skill, I would use it by myself, it would certainly be better to be accustomed with it to avoid bad surprises. I didn't want to rely on another skill, like Rimuru, to use this one particular skill.
But it also meant that I was no longer human, I was now a monster. I expected as much. But, I was still the same foolish human at heart and at soul! I couldn't hold the same amount of love and trepidation for monsterkind, they weren't as interesting and foolish as we, human beings. Humanity was inherently foolish, that was why I loved it so much! As for monsterkind, they were a little too reasonable, logical, extremely cautions and very strong, at the very least for the majins, and that made them not as interesting as humans for my own taste. I intended to remain human in my heart as long as I could! If I didn't, it would truly be over...
I should also probably determine my appearance and race with a water's reflection (don't wanna do it with [Magic Sense] , it was not that I had just a little tinge of fear... N- No... Not at all! Not at all!).
Luckily (or not), a puddle was just nearby. I prepared myself to face this ordeal. I closed my eyes...
Inhale...
Exhale...
In and out.
In... and out.
I just realised now that I didn't need to respire. How bizarre. Not having to naturally inhale and exhale was a pretty strange sensation... How useful. But I now decided to open my eyes. Then—
I gasped. I saw in the reflection a... pretty person with very feminine characteristics radiating the very essence of the word 'beauty'. They had long straight black hair, hair reaching shoulders height, hair flowing like silk, hair so soft at the touch, they simply were beautiful. The hairdressing was simple yet so elegant, they were similar to Rimuru's hairdressing in his human form but with silvery bangs. The eyes were also beautiful, they were big and round like most anime characters, and they were of a pretty icy blue coloured with the brightness of a child. The eyes radiated an innocence that I long lost... and a deep intelligence. The eyebrows were pretty, they weren't thick nor thin, they were in a just between the two that radiated elegance and charm. The face was just as beautiful, it was round and well proportioned. The lips were of a pale rosy colour, they radiated pure refinement. The nose was so small and so delicate yet so pretty. The chin was round and delicate yet charming. The rounds and rosy ears were a perfect match for this face. The neck wasn't thick but not too thin, it was cute in its way.
As for the skin, it was a beautiful pale white colour, it was a lively colour compared to the stereotypical ghost white colour. It was like porcelain itself. The body in itself was smooth, well-rounded and well-proportionated, the curves were slender with an aura of magnificent elegance. It wasn't a muscular body, it was a thin one, one reflecting of grace and refinement.
But... There was nothing down there... All smooth. No genitals could be seen... It meant that this body was genderless (like a certain slime). Ah, I wasn't too surprised but... It hurt in a way to lose it... Sayonara my son...
I suddenly was even more saddened when I saw the body's height... Even in my previous life, my promised growth spurt never happened (maybe because I was still fifteen), I should have been at 1.70 centimetres, not 1.60-61... Even this body... was at 1.60 centimetres... Why? Why this cruelty? What had I done to deserve such punishment?! I at least hoped that the average height of this world wasn't too high. But there was no hope under the tall sun of the Jura-Tempest Federation...
But wow, thi-, no my body sure was something else. I was proud! Fufufu. My body was of incomparable beauty! I could come up with several deceptions' tactics, not that I was keen on using them... But seriously, why in most isekai story, the protagonist found himself in pretty bodies? Not that I complained! I, after all, was satisfied with this body of mine! Fufu! But it would seriously not help being recognised as a boy... They would most probably recognise me as girl... I sighed once again. I would have to face the pain that Rimuru endured most of his life but I still will continue to mock him on that. Fufu.
But I was blushing intensively, I was, after all, all but naked... I covered my eyes with my slender fingers. Oh, I was totally dying of embarrassment! I was red as a tomato... Ah, what to do? Weren't there clothes in this freaking cave?!I could probably make rudimentary clothes if I found some monsters nearby. But there was no way in hell that I fought naked! It would prove to be way too uncomfortable and embarrassing... What to do?
Oh, could one of my skills make clothes? Surely, they could! I hoped. So, clothes made of ice or clothes made of blood? Hum. I pondered a bit before deciding. How difficult of a choice...
Clothes made of ice would prove itself to be better. Ice, after all, had better defensive properties than blood. And my inner chūnibyō was screaming at me that ice was way cooler as clothes than blood! So, the choice was made! But I now had to decide of a design for my clothes... I sighed just thinking of that.
The design... The one thing an author such as me feared the most... I trembled; I was frightened... Terrifying! But I had to do it... Extra Skill [Espoir Épris] , give me courage (yes, it was such a silly way to use this skill but who cared?!)! A wave of courage suddenly made its way toward my dignified person! Fufu. So...
I first needed some form of underwear. Hum... I proceeded to create some kind of underwear in a simple white colour and it was all. All done!
Now, I should cover my body. How about a simple but slender sleeveless white shirt? It should do. But it was just too plain. Adding some details would make it better. A white blue intersection should pass at the centre and two silvery lines, one at the right, one at the left, would accompany it 5 centimetres apart from the blue intersection. But what motif should I add? An octagram, fufu. A silvery sapphire octagram turning on itself at a slow pace and floating just a little above the emplacement of my heart (figuratively speaking). I also decided to add a thin scarlet red scarf with scattered flowing silvery lines, on my neck to have some contrast. On my right ear, I added a red white star-shaped earring.
To cover my right arm, I opted for a long snowy evening glove. For my left arm, I decided to leave it 'naked' but I added an elegant circular star clock, with multiples layers, shaped bracelet of a transparent white colour mixed with tinges of cherry red, on my wrist.
I now needed to cover my legs. Hum. I thought deeply... Yes, a mix between shorts and skirts, a skort (what a ridiculous name... Who came up with that name?!) should do! A snowy blue one descending not too much with a longer side on the right leg. The appearance wasn't that different from a normal skirt but it was more comfortable that way. Now, how about a white snow stocking on my left thigh. Then, a grey white oblique belt splitting in two descending from my waist to a little bit of my shorts-skirt, especially on the right side. For shoes, I opted for icy blue short heels equipped with lames (because it was cooler that way).
Onto the final touch, I decided to create a snowy white cloak with a hood covering the entirety of my body. I would after all need to conceal myself if I decided to go on an adventure into the open world without causing too much problems. Truly a pity, I didn't had access to the black colour, it would have been a better colour for a concealment cloak.
Finally, I finished making my clothes. It was painful designing all of that. The pain of every author...
Since I was creating clothes, why not create my weapons? I hoped that it would be at least more fun. Fufu, with my abilities, I could be an archer, after all the archer class was really made of archers. I coughed ironically. UBW, Gate of Babylon, Ice Brands Arts, hum... But it consumed lots of magicules to be able to spam like that. My skills were really useful, after all, when I materialise something, I didn't need to maintain it with magicules, it simply used the ones in the atmosphere but... They couldn't compare with the ones of 'legendary' people like Gilgamesh, Emiya Shirou and so on.
Frankly speaking, a lance would be the better choice for a beginner such as me but... Lances weren't cool in my degenerate mind. And being a lancer was synonym to really bad things: the infamous E rank luck... I shuddered just thinking of that. One could be the strongest existence in the world but if luck wasn't with them... They wouldn't last long. I also loved swords, for they were the forefront of every fantasy novel! I had to own one now or later or it would cause great tragedies! Now, the question was to know if I rather choose an ice or a blood sword. An ice sword appeared to be better in offensive capabilities, and coated with sharp blood would make it even better. Since I didn't farm magic ores, I couldn't reinforce the blade. I also created two ornamented snowy scabbards with tinges of scarlet to stock my upcoming sword and another weapon in case.
But later on, I intended to master different kinds of weapons. It would be necessary face off future enemies. It wouldn't do if I couldn't defend myself without a sword in the future. But for the moment, the sword would be king!
As for the appearance, it would be similar to a normal European sword. A silvery handle of 10 centimetres and an icy white blade of 60 centimetres. There were no ornaments. It was plain and simple for the moment. But if I found new and maybe better materials, I would definitively upgrade it!
But just one weapon wasn't enough, I decided to create throwing knifes made of ice that I concealed on my belt, my shorts-skirt, my evening glove and on my stocking. I also created picks because thieves were cools! If I could, I would have made a grappling hook, but I didn't have the necessary materials...
I also created a secondary weapon just in case, a simple dagger made of ice and coated with blood should do.
Now, I needed some ranged physical weapon. And what a perfect ranged weapon would be? A bow would be! I just created a plain old bow made of ice that I will levitate on my back with some magic (it will not really levitate, I will just attach it with threads of ice to my cloak). As for the arrows, I would made them on the straw.
Pfiou, that truly was long and exhausting to create all of that. But in the end, I was pretty satisfied.
Now, after all that whole debacle that I didn't totally caused, I had something else of great importance to confirm. '[Mystères des Étoiles] , which race am I?' I knew that I wasn't human but the resemblance to a human sure was uncanny.
‹Answer. Master's race is an Artificial Mystic Doll. ›
Hoho. So that was why. I was categorised as a monster surely because I depended and lived on magicules. But I certainly never heard of this race. Probably because it was unique to me? Surely. But all in all, I think that it worked nearly the same way as Rimuru's human form with some exceptions I concluded.
'Hey. [Mystères des Étoiles] , do this body still is composed of blood?' I demanded curiously.
‹Answer. Master's body is still composed of blood to make use of the Extra Skill [Règne de Sang]. ›
Umu. '[Mystères des Étoiles] , do losing blood, in other words, bleeding cause death?'
‹Answer. Master cannot die losing blood/bleeding because of the passive regeneration of blood effected by the Extra Skill [Règne de Sang]. But even then, if master's' body was to be depleted of blood, master wouldn't die because master's body was essentially composed of magicules. In conclusion, as long as there were magicules in the area nearby, master wouldn't die. ›
I see. So, I really ran off of magicules. Also, pretty much immortal in a way. But surely my body would have a limited lifespan. Sure, I ran on magicules but it will not eternally remove the damage done to my body. To truly become immortal, I would have to become a half-spiritual being or switch off bodies time to time. But it was also good to know that I had infinite blood with the Extra Skill [Règne de Sang].
'[Mystères des Étoiles] , do this blood flow? And do it have a heat?'
‹Answer. Master's blood doesn't flow and it doesn't have a heat. It remains cold and stagnant. It only serves as reserves for master's personal usage. ›
I see, truly interesting. So, it meant that enemies couldn't detect my presence by heat nor by the sound of my blood. But these questions weren't really all that important, these were only curious questions without any expectations of answer. The one I should really ask would be '[Mystères des Étoiles] , do I have Intrinsic Skills? If I do, which one(s)?'
‹Answer. Master indeed do possess Intrinsic Skills, three in total. They are: [Doll's Regeneration] , [Mystical Ways] and [Doll's Mind]. ›
Interesting. '[Mystères des Étoiles] , could you please explain it to me?' I demanded.
‹Answer.
[Doll's Regeneration] :
• Enable a faster regeneration to heal wounds.
• Enable self-repair of any destroyed part of the body if there are sufficient levels of magicules presents to proceed.
[Mystical Ways] :
• Allows a greater pace of learning concerning all magical phenomena.
[Doll's Mind] :
• Grants a passive resistance to mind-intruding abilities.
• Allows a total removal and/or concealment of emotions. ›
Holy moly. How useful! With [Doll's Mind] , I would be able to resist Yuuki if he still had a mind-control ability. But he still would have his anti-skills ability... He truly was a dangerous fellow. And I could have the best poker face of the world! Fufu. So, gambling or not gambling? That was a pretty bad idea even if I had [Alternative] , it would mean to reveal some of my cards...
[Doll's Regeneration] was all in all pretty classic but the self-repair was pretty useful. And I was relieved that it didn't have an anti-magic ability, if it had, I wouldn't be able to heal myself with potions and magic.
And [Mystical Ways] would prove itself to be truly op when combined with [Mystères des Étoiles]. Fufu.
Speaking of the devil, '[Mystères des Étoiles] , what are the full extent of [Mystères des Étoiles]'s abilities?' I once again demanded curiously.
‹Answer. [Mystères des Étoiles]'s abilities are:
{Hasten Thought}:
• Boosts perception speed by a thousand times.
{Appraisal}:
• Allows the analysis of and assessment of the target.
{Parallel Thought}:
• Allows the conduct of the operation of a parallel thought. Separating it from the regular thought process.
{Cast Cancel}:
• Annuls all castings periods from magical phenomena.
{Knowledge is Power}:
• The more knowledge, the more power and magicules one could gather.
• Allows the duplication of a skill below the rank of unique if one has complete understanding of the said-skill.
• Acquiring new skills doesn't permanently decrease one's own magicules reserves.
{Infinite Encyclopaedia}:
• Allows access of all the works preciously accessed on Earth and on Tensura.
• Allows the complete registry of information of any target the user killed.
• Grants a research tree of Earth's technologies. The more advanced, the more time it would take. Research time can be reduced/bypassed by meeting prerequisites. ›
Plagiary of [Great Sage]?! Fufu, not that I complained. The similarities sure were uncanny. Was I really the protagonist? That couldn't be right, Rimuru had to be the protagonist! But seriously I should have asked earlier to appraise all my skills before making all of my assumptions... Normally, a skill of that level should have taken ninety days to fuse with my soul. And here it was, already fused with my soul when I reincarnated. How useful. Fufu. Oh, I already did say that, didn't I? Oops.
But the {Infinite Encyclopaedia} sure looked useful, because it meant that I could access all the works I had read, watched and listened in my entire life (previous and new). This could prove to be even cheater than [Great Sage]. Wik~i~pe~dia~~. Fufu. Oh, that also meant that I would become the 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' because I could access the WN, the LN, the anime, the manga and the side stories! Ahahah. But what were the conditions to access them? I should ask that later when it once again became relevant. And the means to research Earth's technologies were more than a cheat, it was sufficing to say that it was totally game-breaker! With all of this, I would bring a new dawn on this world, which was for sure but... I should absolutely hide that ability at all costs.
And that combined with {Knowledge is Power}, I could also pretty much duplicate skills willy-nilly. Even if they were below the unique rank, it would still be useful.
As for the rest, they were the classical abilities of [Great Sage] , I was pretty familiar with them. So, there shouldn't be problems. But it's a pity that I didn't acquire {All of Creation}, it would have provided coverage of all the world's knowledge in a way (at the condition that I understood it). Well, not that grave, my {Infinite Encyclopaedia} was in its own way similar and more useful. Fufu.
But {Hasten Thought} though... I was as of now a JoJo character! I would now stand at the stairs' tops waiting for my enemies menacingly! I could now take the time to explain my abilities to the enemy while in combat and make an internal monologue at the same time! ...Hugh... I think I became stupid with this whole reincarnation thing...
So, what should I first research? Something useful for combat... But I should probably open the research's tree.
'[Mystères des Étoiles] , open the research's tree of {Infinite Encyclopaedia}.'
‹Error. {Infinite Encyclopaedia} research's tree could not be accessed. › I should have known...
'So, [Mystères des Étoiles] , how long will it take for it to be accessible for me?' I asked.
‹Answer. It will take ninety days to access the {Infinite Encyclopaedia}'s research's tree. ›
I sighed exaggeratedly. I should ask something else for the time being.
Now, now, '[Mystères des Étoiles] , appraise in its entirety the Unique Skill [Alternative] with the help of {Parallel Thought} and of {Hasten Thought}!'
‹Affirmative. The entire appraisal of the Unique Skill [Alternative] will be done in 1 year. ›
So, it seemed that it will take long before I could use that skill to its full potential. But that long, even with {Parallel Thought} and {Hasten Thought}... This skill would surely become my ace! But how long will it take for it to fuse with my soul? I could very well sense that it wasn't at all attached to my soul for the time being. Well, it would probably take ninety days. I couldn't expect it to be already fused with my soul like [Mystères des Étoiles]. The abnormal one was [Mystères des Étoiles] to be already fused with me.
Now, now, it seemed so that I had passed only one hour in this world after my death. Time sure flied quickly... But I should first conceal my aura (haki) before exploring this cave. It wouldn't do if every living being here fled me. I after all wanted to farm some juicy Skills!
So, I activated my Extra Skill [Magic Sense] and focused it on myself. I then could see all the sublime aura surrounding my great person. Fufu. And I pushed it all back. It was now perfectly hidden; I was nothing more than a frail human being~.
Time to cha~se.
Fuck me.
Why was there a Black Spider just at the exit of my current location?! I hated spiders to the bones!
Well, I had no choice but to fight it. I sighed in realisation.
Well, for this occasion, I will use [Règne de Sang] , I was curious if I could make a living being explode from itself. I thought it was amusing,
So, "[Règne de Sang] , kill that evil creature!" Oh my. I never spoke before in this body, but my voice sure was angelic and soothing. And I spoke in perfect English, with no accent whatsoever, it sure was surprising. Fufu, how amusing.
But true to my words, the Black Spider just explode from itself and... well it wasn't pretty. But the magicules consumption sure was enormous! It wasn't worth killing it that way... I sighed once again. And the floor was littered with black blood everywhere. And I was showered in blood, superb! How disgusting... What a good idea I had...
‹Confirmed. Registry of Black Spider...successfully acquired.› was my {Infinite Encyclopaedia} confirmation.
Now, I only had to use {Hasten Thought} coupled with {Parallel Thought} to duplicate the Skills [Sticky Thread] and [Steel Thread].
‹Confirmed. Skill [Sticky Thread]...successfully duplicated. Following up with the Skill [Steel Thread]... successfully duplicated.›
Hoho, that ability sure was cheated. But it sure wasn't as streamlined as Rimuru's [Predator]. Speaking of the slime, I would need to find him via an extensive use of [Magic Sense]. He would be able to farm all the ores and medicinal herbs here with relative ease. I after all didn't have a spatial pocket like his stomach.
But the question was 'Was he already reincarnated? If yes, how much time had passed for him?'
Because I already knew that this cave was Veldora's (thanks [Magic Sense]), and with the abundances of resources here meant that Rimuru hadn't finished exploring the cave and didn't get to 'eat' Veldora.
I hoped to not wait months or years here...
Then—
A plethora of bats, of Giants Bats to be exact came screeching, squeaking all the way down there. These Giants Bats sure looked ominous, even if there were only ranked C, with their large black wings and red eyes. Alone they were easily defeated but... they weren't. In numbers, they could pose a serious threat to the newly-born me...
Not to mention that I depleted a large sum of magicules trying my newly acquired powers, a total of fifteen percent of all my reserves... It meant that either my reverses were pretty thin or that I was bad at manipulating magicules.
To be honest, I was a little panicked inside because of this unexpected development. Earlier when I was 'fighting' the Black Spider, I didn't pay enough attention toward my [Magic Sense] , hence why I didn't sense them coming.
So first, I needed to do something to gain the upper hand in the following battle. My jumbling emotions were rendering useless quick-witted battles decisions essentials for my continued survival, it was after all my first real battle with a large group of monsters, I was naturally panicked. Not to mention, in my previous life, I never even fought once... So, I decided albeit reluctantly to use my Intrinsic Skill [Doll's Mind] to completely remove my panicked thoughts. I knew that I shouldn't depend on that Skill too much, it would prove to be fatal in the future if keep relying too much on that.
I took a deep breath. In... and out.
Next, I activated {Hasten Thought} at its maximum, hoping that it wouldn't overwhelm my brain. I would not activate {Parallel Thought} because I knew I couldn't handle thinking multiples plans; it was way beyond my capabilities. Then, I investigated the reason to which to the bats came here, in this recluse place. It could help finding a weakness for the upcoming battle. After thinking a little bit, I realised that they had a Skill called [Vampirism] , right? So, they naturally came here for the blood littered all over the floor, the blood from the Black Spider... And the blood covering my entire body (especially my cloak)... So, the best was to completely switch off all blood types accessories I had to ice, it meant my scarf, my earring, my bracelet and the coating of my weapons would lose their blood properties. And I would use my cloak as a potential decoy.
I now needed to figure out a battle plan to proceed to victory. But to achieve that, I needed an accurate reading of my surroundings, [Magic Sense] will once again came into play for that analysis. After some proceedings, I now held a crystal-clear view of the surroundings. The place I 'spawned' was a just a simple cavity with some water's sources. Opening onto the exit, the place I 'fought' the Black Spider, was a relatively large corridor with no special features, it was where I currently stood. And there were three entrances/exits for this corridor, one at twelve o'clock (right ahead), one at nine o'clock (west) and the last at three o'clock (east).
The bats numbered seventeen... XVII, vixi, I have lived... How lucky of me... Why did I take Latin? Well, because frankly it was the only good and reasonable choice. Hum, I had far too much digressed. I should be serious now. So, there were eight of them at twelve o'clock, five at three o'clock and four at nine o'clock.
So, the plan was to first boost myself with [Espoir Épris] then I would split off the group of eight in two by using my newly acquired [Sticky Thread] , then I would proceed to clean them off by using ice magic and my swordsmanship. At the same time, I would also throw my bloodied cloak to my right (to the group of five) to occupy them. After cleaning the first group, I would then proceed to clean the relatively smaller group of four at my left. And finally, then, I would finish off the group of five. It should be relatively easy now. I was now the perfect definition of calm after thinking it through.
So, I proceeded according to plan.
"[Espoir Épris] , confère-moi la force de vaincre mes ennemis !" A heroic and majestic golden light enveloped my body, it conferred me the strength necessary to face my enemies!
It simply was beautiful... I was breath taken by my skill; it truly was a skill worth of a hero! Was I really worth of it? I was in a daze but I quickly reined myself in. It granted me a significant boost to my offensive capabilities and to my defence, a really useful skill for any classes. I also knew that I didn't needed to chant but I never could be too careful... Who knew if there was a Majin among them? If there were, I wouldn't want to reveal so early my hidden cards.
So, I naturally went to the group of eight, I spit them off in two with [Sticky Thread]. At the same time, I threw my cloak to the group of five. I then used [Magie des Neiges] by projecting swords at the four of them, killing all of them right off the bat, while I gracefully cut the others fours with my sword.
‹Confirmed. Registry of Giant Bat...successfully acquired.›
Oh, I completely forgot that I could do that with all the tension around. So, I then decided to follow the flow and to once again use {Parallel Thought} for another operation to incorporate the skills of the Giant Bat.
‹Confirmed. Skill [Vampirism]...successfully duplicated. Following up with the Skill [Ultrasound Waves]... successfully duplicated.›
New skills were always welcomed but these ones weren't that useful in a fighting situation...
Next, I pinned the group of four with littles swords, not too magicules consuming. I then proceeded to finish them off.
I now finally took on the last group, the five remaining enemies. The coup de grâce was simply freezing them bit by bit to death. I then proceeded to enter their bodies with [Règne de Sang] while they were still alive in the pursuit of a better control of my magic. But they sure were noisy... But it was so satisfying!
I finally ended this battle! I smiled proudly after all of these ordeals, it felt so good!
But still, I couldn't believe that my Extra Skills [Règne de Sang] and [Magie des Neiges] were simply ranked 'Extra'. It was a little bit suspicious. After all, their potentials and powers were on par with an Unique Skill. Hum... Maybe because they didn't have any sub-skills and that was the reason why they couldn't qualify as an Unique Skill? I also should really test [Marionettiste] one day, obtaining more data was crucial in the early game, especially for the construction of my build.
And hopefully, I wasn't involved in some weird situations like these timelines-related nonsense nor being part of Chloe's little trips – time loops... It would prove to be a relatively complicated situation if that ever was the case.
I then let myself fall on the ground but I made sure to prepare beforehand an icy ground, I'd rather not enjoy a stone floor. Ice was after all way more conformable for my new body. But I truly was exhausted (mentally speaking)...
"But why didn't I use {Appraisal}?!" I reprimanded myself loudly... If only I did that, it would have been slightly easier but no... I forgot. I sighed exaggeratedly once more. I should also learn [Structural Analysis] from Fate. It would prove to be quite useful in the future. But I would do that later.
"So, what should I do now?"
Now that I defeated these bats, I knew that the monsters here weren't that dangerous with my abilities. But I hoped that more powerful monsters than Giants Bats weren't teaming up... Hopefully... What was truly dangerous were my panicked thoughts and my agonising inexperience. And I hoped that there were not new monsters in that cave, monsters unknown to the novels, it would prove to be a rather dangerous situation to me if that truly was the case.
I should explore the cave but this time more carefully.
After spending two hours exploring, I found out a relatively good and vast spot for resting, it was peaceful with no monsters in sight. It had a fairly large underground lake with lots of Hipokte Grass growing here and of magic ores. The ceiling was high, very high: approximatively forty-seven metres. It was an open space but it had huge pillars naturally supporting the ceiling.
I then decided to make of this spot my base of operations, my headquarters! I would after all need one sooner or later, better have one now. It was for the furthering of my plans and for the sake of experimentations. But it was too high at the location I was currently standing at, so I went for a twelve metres high one, it was the right wing of the spot.
But always calling this spot 'spot' sure was inconvenient. So, I decided to name it 'Primordial Genesis', it wasn't the best of name but I couldn't find any better. As for the right wing of Primordial Genesis, I gave it the name of 'Sapphire', not that original but foreigners would surely find it cool. Dear sky, I hoped not that a French speaking person came here... It would be my worst nightmare! I also decided to name the lake 'Hortensia'. The lake would serve as a farm for Hipokte grass later on, but it wasn't exactly in my list of priorities, it was more or less a side project.
So, it was now time arrange the place, especially Sapphire. It would after all be my work space in the foreseeable future. As for now, I only had ice as a proper material, it would be very monochrome but it was better than nothing. It also had an interesting shape; it was triangular but with roundish boundaries.
I started by creating an entrance for Sapphire with grand majestic silvery snow-white pillars. It was of course empty inside; I wouldn't have the necessary magicules for the rest I fill them up. I then recovered the entire floor and walls of Sapphire in white pristine ice.
I divided the triangle in three spaces: the left side would be my personal library; the middle would be my research facility; the right would be my office. But the shared places weren't equals, the office encompassed half of the entirety of Sapphire, the library was one third, the research facility was the rest, so that make it seventeen percent. For separation, I added new pillars at each side with arches on the ceiling to make it look more elegant.
At the entrance of Sapphire, there was a great circular central hall indicating the purpose of each spaces. It was 'richly' decorated with arches, chandeliers and gravures.
For the library, the pillar was right in the middle of the entrance, I decided that it would be best to leave it as an open entrance. On the pillar, I added a large clock (not that it was moving) that could be seen from the interior. On the middle of the ceiling, I added a large glowing ice chandelier. And I decided that the ceiling would be a reflecting ceiling, it meant that it reflected the image they received, and it would be beautiful as it was made in a pristine white ice.
I then made tables in the middle with chairs, all in ice. I of course added props on them to make them livelier, props in the likes of quills (not functional), unmoving books and candles (that couldn't light up). I also added bookshelves with decorated silver lines. And later on, I would add symbols just above each bookshelf, each representing their subject. That was it for the first floor.
I also wanted a second floor, so I made a spiralling staircase with refined gravures for balustrades. In the middle of it, I added a blue tapestry made of ice. I then constructed the floor in question but this one would have an open view in the middle on the one below it. Apart from that, the structure was the same.
The library was now finished! I decided to name it 'Crystal', la Bibliothèque de Crystal.
I would now pass on the research facility. The pillar also was in the middle with arches. But apart from that, I had frankly no ideas how to decorate it...
Well, I added what passed on my mind. So, I added a round table in the middle, empties bookshelves scattered there and here and that was all. It wasn't finished but one day, it would be. I hoped...
For the time being, I named it 'Alchemia'.
Now onto the exciting part: the office! The office was to be important, so I couldn't make it look bad. So, how to begin? As of now, there only was a large pillar in the middle of the entrance with arches. Well, maybe adding pillars would make it look better? Yes, definitively. At five metres of distance of each other's but the ones at the middle would be at ten metres
In the middle of the office, I added a very large strategic table, which was empty in its centre, with refined decorations and props. It was made for at least fifty people. The seat of the host, that meant me, would be at the right extremity of this round table. In the middle of it, there was a large glowing thin column. On the ceiling, there were many shining chandeliers. I then added a large map of the world in the background with gravures and decorations.
As for my office proper, I decided to make it at the right extremity of the space. It would a piece apart with a door. I tried to emulate the 'Salon doré' of the French's president but I knew very well that I couldn't. So, it made it the best I could.
There was a table, one reflecting elegance. It had 'many' props, such as quills and lamps... On the ceiling, there was a complex chandelier nearly touching the table. On the back of the office, there was a sublime mirror with silvery lines on its contour. And that was it for now.
I proudly named my office 'Aube Argentée'!
I forgot to make a place for actual resting... Well, where should I arrange it? The left side of Primordial Genesis should do. It would be my sleeping quarters, I would first name it, and so 'Éclipse' was it.
I then recovered the floor in ice and made pillars accompanied by arches for the entrance. So, I made my chamber at the back of Éclipse. I made a door and walls. In the interior, there just was a bed of ice and that was all. It was barebones but I hadn't the inspiration to decorate it. So, I postpone it to a later date.
I smugly smiled as I finally completed the bases of Primordial Genesis. I was pretty satisfied but there was a nagging sensation since earlier... I couldn't figure it out but it was very uncomfortable...
Then—
I collapsed on the floor. I couldn't understand why. My eyes were getting blurry, my legs and arms didn't answer my orders. I couldn't move. I felt my consciousness slipping once again away. It was terrifying to experience that again...
Finally absolute darkness enwrapped me in its sweet embrace...

AN:
Hello there!
As you could already guessed, I am no English-speaker native. I am from the kingdom of the Belgium, in Western Europe. But, I take English (British English) lessons here at school, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, I hope. But if there is any error, please tell (and be merciless)!
It is also to be noted that this is the second work that I have released. But it is indeed the fifth fanfiction I have worked on. So, I do have some experience but I am only 15 years old. So if there is anything on to improve, please tell.
School will once again begin the 19th, meaning that the rate of release will be irregular. So, don't expect any updates any soon.
As for the story in itself, it will be at first quite slow, it is after all the first arc "Ô Prometheus !". It is quite essential to calmly introduce the story before accelerating the rythme. But the pace should normally gain in intensity in further arcs. The cover is also prone to change in the future (and yes, the cover is mine).
Changelog:
4/17/21
• Lots of fixes.
4/18/21
• Fixes.
• Rearrangement of the disclaimer.
5/02/21
• Added the Arc specification
