Ami placed her practiced fingers in the arc reactor, and Tony watched her, parroting of advice, having refused anesthesia. She couldn't blame him. She'd be curious too.
Ami ignored Tony and removed the reactor. She then called out, "Hyperspatial Sphere Generate," Pulling all the shrapnel from his heart into a hyperspatial sphere and destroying it.
Tony came close to cardiac arrest several times, but Ami held control over his heart and kept it beating until she closed him up. Kept the pain away, kept death away.
All for this man. This arrogant fool.

Tony was very loopy and finally passed out in the end from the exertion.
Ami finished and knelt, kissing him.
