"Alright today is the day."I said to Ultear who was right next to me.
"The day?" Ultear questioned.
"Today is the day, I ask him on a...date." I replied to her.
"Ask who on a date?"Ultear inquired confused.
"Jel...lal...JELLAL of course." I fidgeted with my fingers, blushing.
"Jellal! But what about Erza?" Ultear cried, shock showing as she stared at me in disbelief.
"I know but he said that later he was going to..." Before I got the chance to finish Ultear interrupted to say...
"I've got an idea."
"What is it?" I asked slightly scared to hear what she had to say. Ultear was lovely but she had a mean streak to her.
"You have to tell him that you love him before he gets a chance to talk to Erza later today." She grinned at me an evil spark in her eye.
"Wait what?Why?" I replied very confused as to why I had to tell him before he talked to Erza. I was going to talk to him after he spoke with the scarlet haired maiden but I could see that my plans have changed now because of Ultear.
"Well he might need to talk with Erza to tell her that he loves her and I don't think you want him to tell her that now, do you?" Ultear raised her eyebrow at me in a 'think about that' kind of way.
"That's a very good point now that I think about it. I'll get ready to tell him." I replied with conviction to her statement, after a minute or two of contemplation.
"Good idea, Meldy." The time mage said to me kindly.
1 hour later
"I think I'm ready Ultear so you can come in now." I called from the bathroom of my hotel room, she walked in and her mouth dropped at the sight of me. Oh dear I must look worse than I thought.
"You look beautiful in that dress Meldy."She said in awe. My dress was aqua blue with a light purple ribbon around my waist that tied in a bow at the back,the dress was down to my knees and I had left my hair down because it's naturally wavy and I usually always wore it up.
"No I don't, this was just the first dress I picked from my wardrobe. Ok?" I denied blushing a bit.
"You do." she whispered, but I could hear her I just pretend not to.
"Oh by the way, I slipped a note on to his bed saying to meet you at the beach at 4:00 p.m." She said changing the subject quickly.
"Great." I said, as that was next on my list to do.
"It's half an hour from now so you should leave at ten too." Ultear said looking at the clock on the desk. The twenty minutes went very quick as Ultear made me a cup of tea to calm my nerves before I headed out to tell him. This confession business was extremely nerve wracking.
"Oh it's time to head to the beach already?! I said shocked because the time went like a blink of an eye for once in my life.
"Go on before you're late." Ultear demanded, ushering me toward the door.
"Ok see you later Ultear." I called out as I shut the door behind me. As I got outside I thought to my self stay cool and calm. When I got to the steps to the beach I saw him standing by the water waiting for me to arrive. Of course he didn't know it was me he was meeting, well I didn't think he did anyway. I took a deep breath and yelled...
"Hi Jellal."
"Oh, hi Meldy. Did you put that letter on my bed?" He asked me in his kind sweet voice.
"No Ultear did that for me." I replied to him.
"Meldy you look...urm... b...beau...beautiful in that dress and wi... with your hair down."The blue haired man stammered while complementing me. As he did I could feel the blush climbing onto my face.
"Thank you." I said trying to avoid looking at his face directly.
"By the way, why did you ask me to meet you here?" He asked slightly confused.
"Well its because I have a question for you." I answered him.
"Ok, what is it?" He looked directly at me awaiting the next sentence I would utter.
"Actually, it's more I have to tell you something and less of a question." I muttered starting to fidget with the hem of my dress. Now that it was time I was so nervous I could barely think straight.
"That's fine Meldy. What do you need to say?" His soothing voice calmed all my doubts. I could do this!
"I LOVE YOU JELLAL I REALLY DO!" I blurted out scrunching my eyes up as I did.
"Umm what did you just say?" He said looking very confused at me.
"I LOVE YOU JELLAL!" I blurted out once again for him. My face must be strawberry red by now, having to say it out loud twice was so embarrassing.
"Y...you umm lo...love mm...me." You could just see his brain going 'does not compute' repeatedly for about a minute or so.
"Anyone home...Jellal ...earth land to Jellal." I waved my hand in front of his face, but he still didn't respond. I sighed slightly disappointed that this whole plan hadn't worked out as I'd hoped.
"I'll head back to the hotel then." I muttered staring at the ground as I turned around and headed back to our room. I got back to the room and as I entered I saw that Ultear was waiting for me on the bed.
"So how was it?" She said in the 'did he say yes' kind of way.
"Um...well...he did't say yes or no because his brain was going does not compute and I think he's still standing there doing it now." I said kind of sad about it.
"Um...It's ok he just needs time to process everything about what you said." The time mage reassured me kindly.
"Oh ok I'll give him some time." I said trying to convince myself to stay positive about the situation. Though I did not hold out hope for a happy ending.
What felt like an eternity later but was only 1 hour
*Someone knocking on the door*
"Coming." I yelled running to answer who ever was there. I got a small shock when I opened the door and saw who was standing there.
"Hi Meldy." Jellal said timidly to me.
"Hi Jellal...what's up." I said trying to sound natural. Looked like his brain had finally returned to him.
"Um you want to get something to drink?" he asked me politely. Did I want to get a drink with him? Was he seriously asking me that...but some coco did sound enticing.
"Hot coco." I said hopefully. It was my favourite drink what ever the weather.
"Sure."He said confused. I could see why, it was summer after all.
"Ok, lets GO!" I yelled running out of the room.
"Meldy wait for me!"He had to yell at me because I was so far ahead of him. Hot coco was more important than him right now.
When we got the hot coco
"Did you want to talk to me?" I asked enjoying the coco with marshmallows.
"I have an answer for you."He said confidently. "I'm sorry I didn't give it to you earlier."
"So...urm yes or no?" I asked nervously. My heart felt it was running a marathon in my chest from the anticipation.
"I love you too, Meldy."He said to me with all his heart.
"I'm happy you feel the same way." I beamed ecstatically my heart fluttering in joy .
