There's something I should've said in the disclaimer in the first chapter, and it's also in the summary of this story on my main page. Like the original story, this new take is primarily focused on Sony's established Marvel universe that began with Venom and will continue with Morbius next year, but while it also primarily borrows several elements from the DCAU, I will also add a few hints of the Arrowverse, the Arkhamverse, and the MCU, meaning that my story doesn't have to follow their plot lines, like the CADMUS arc in the Justice League cartoon, or the Infinity saga in the MCU, or anything like that. Instead I'm coming up with my own arcs that'll lead to something bigger, starting with the Rise of the Lethal Protectors arc. Judging by the title, it will focus on Venom forming his own League to take out the trash of society.

As always, Venom belongs to Marvel, and Justice League belongs to DC. Any original characters that appear in this story will belong to me.

Enjoy!

Nights like these were not unusual for Commissioner James Gordon.

Half an hour ago, he received a call from his office at the precinct about an attempted rape in an alleyway south of Gotham. At first, he thought Batman already had it under control once it was said there was an intervention, until the mention of two dead bodies got him springing into action, bringing a group of his best officers and forensics group to the scene of the attack.

"Any thoughts on the bodies?" he asked Detective Harvey Bullock, who stood next to the bags containing the bodies of the would-be rapists.

"Del Isaacs and Mason North. Thirteen counts of rape, seven of which ended with murder, and the other six left traumatized. Guess the girls will be happy when this makes it on TV." he said.

"You sure it's them?" Gordon asked, and Bullock responded by opening the first bag, allowing him to examine the body.

If one were to ignore the open gash on the forehead, and the open, lifeless eyes, they would find themselves admiring the face of a thirty-something year old brunette pretty boy… a perfect cover for someone who gets off of raping young, defenseless girls.

"Yep. Isaacs, alright." Gordon said as Bullock closed the bag. "But how can you tell the other was North?"

"I already checked, and I'd like to value my health after what I just saw."

Gordon raised an eyebrow before opening the other bag… nearly getting caught off-guard at what he saw.

The other body was in… poor condition to say the least; a portion of his left shoulder was missing, like it was torn off, along with his head, and the amount of blood spilling looked like it could fill the entire bag.

"Damn." Gordon muttered as he was given the honor to zip up the body bag.

"Judging by the state of the poor bastard's body, Killer Croc was the first thing that popped into my head, but he's still holed up in Belle Reve since a few months ago, and there hasn't been anything on him since." Bullock said, knowing full well of the crocodilian metahuman's appetite for human flesh, mainly those who displeased him in any way.

"Then any thoughts on what did this?" Gordon asked.

"Venom."

The commissioner and the detective turned their heads to the woman sitting in the ambulance with a blanket around her shoulders as she looked at them shakily.

"Come again?" Gordon asked.

"Venom. That was his name." the woman clarified. "He killed those two. He broke that man's neck and ate the other one. The one he ate looked scared out of his mind and asked what he was… and he said he… or they, were Venom. And then…"

She turned her head away, unable to finish her sentence. Not that it bothered them. They didn't need to hear the end of the story. The bodies already told them that.

In fact, when they first heard the word "Venom", the first thing that came to mind was a liquidized, super-steroid that Bane used to juice himself up in his attempts to kill the Batman, but now they remembered it was also the name of a vigilante based in San Francisco that kills… no, eats criminals instead of jailing them.

"Well, that explains it." says Bullock, after a moment of silence. "So what now?"

"Keep collecting evidence," says Gordon as he walked into the alley, "I'm going to check further, see if the punks tried to take any escape routes once they had their fun before Venom showed up and ruined it for them."

He turned a corner in the deeper parts of the alley, ignoring any scurrying rats that dug for scraps of trash. Looking up to see any open windows from any tenants who were disturbed from their beauty rest. Guessing that they went back to sleep once the "disturbance" was over, he waited, his eyes and ears open for anyone still awake at this time, especially for what was to come.

"He's here, isn't he?" asks a raspy voice in the darkness.

"The name was all we needed. Bane and Killer Croc were out of the question, one had busted out of Arkham over a week ago, and the other's still in Belle Reve." he answered, not really surprised by the sudden presence behind him, a routine he had gotten used to but was slowly getting tired of. Turning around, he was met with the imposing figure of the Dark Knight himself, the Batman.

"If Venom is here, then he must've gotten tired of the lack of criminal activity in San Francisco for the last several days. He's probably trying to send a message to the criminal underworld here in Gotham." Batman deduced.

"Now that you mention it, San Francisco has been pretty quiet. Only thing close to actual crime is either a purse-snatching, reckless driving, or a wild fraternity party that's usually handled by the police based there." Gordon agreed.

"Still, if you or any of the GCPD see him, don't engage. He may not be hostile towards cops, mostly the ones based in San Francisco, but others may not be as welcoming, and they don't have the equipment or manpower to take him down. This is something me and the Justice League have to handle." Batman said grimly.

Gordon was skeptical though. "You sure you still want him to be brought in? He's got a lot of people rooting for him in San Francisco, including the local police, and so far there's no civilian casualties. Not to mention they weren't in a welcoming mood the first time you and the rest of the League went to San Francisco to apprehend him."

Batman's usual glare deepened at the mention of the incident. Near as he could remember from a few reports, Batman and the Justice League visited San Francisco two months ago, and a month after Venom made his debut in San Francisco, to take in the Lethal Protector for a large string of murders, which… didn't go so well to say the least, and resulted in them being kicked out and banned from entering the Bay Area.

"Just because he has people supporting him doesn't mean he can keep doing as he pleases. He needs to be stopped before more people get hurt." Batman said sternly, taking note of Gordon's dejected expression as the commissioner sighed in defeat. "For now, Venom may be laying low, so tell your men to keep their eyes and ears open. And remember, don't engage."

"Alright, we'll see what we can do," Gordon says as he checks the corner of the alley to see if anyone was watching their conversation, "and what will you be…" but when he looks back, Batman is gone, " … doing," he finishes to the empty alley before making his way back with an annoyed sigh.

While Batman watched him walk out of the alleyway on a rooftop, his mind still on the topic of Venom suddenly being in Gotham. Even though he was a little livid from having the fiasco in San Francisco being brought up, it still got him wondering: Maybe this was some form of payback from Venom for entering his city unannounced. Or maybe he was trying to make a new hunting ground where he would keep preying on the guilty. He'll have to contact the rest of the League first thing in the morning.

Now begs the question: What was Venom planning now?

The next morning…

'Wake up.'

Eddie turned around on the small bed. "Just… give me a moment or two…" He said, half-awaken.

Venom sighed. 'In a moment or two we might end up caught. We need to move.'

"You are over-reacting. We'd been in this hotel for a day. And nothing happened." Eddie said, sitting up and stretching his arms. "Aside from the occasional crime in progress, and of course laying low from Batman."

'It was your idea to take us here.'

"The League came into our turf first. What's the harm in taking a vacation to theirs?"

'Just giving them an excuse to come after us. If they see you here too, we're fucked.' Venom growled, making Eddie groan in defeat.

"Fine, but we gotta make this quick."

Three months has passed since the 'incident' with the Life Foundation, and Eddie and Venom are having a double life, saying in one way. By day, Eddie performs what could be described as morning rituals; he goes to work, takes a stroll, buys food, and chats with friends, mainly with his ex-fiancée Anne Weying and her new boyfriend Dan Lewis. By night, Venom took charge. They hunt down any type of crime and eliminate it.

Permanently.

While violent vigilantes such as the Red Hood or the Punisher stuck to stealth and guns, Venom mostly used strength and teeth. Many of his victims, murderers, rapists, pedophiles, scum who wanted to make a name for themselves, while found dismembered, were mostly found headless after being bitten off, Venom's favorite technique, making it hard for the authorities to identify them until much later.

Still, despite his methods of dispatching the worst of the worst, the people of San Francisco saw Venom as a hero, their first one, even. The police department was divided; most of the force approved of his actions, seeing it as a way of making their jobs easier, while the other few thought he was trying to assert dominance over the criminal element, though they eventually came around. Overall, crime in San Francisco had dropped to thirty percent, with most of the criminals going into hiding or even handing themselves over to avoid getting their heads bitten off.

Of course, such methods always put the likes of Venom on the Justice League's shit list, but neither he nor Eddie could care less about what they think.

For all the power they have, none of them had the guts to finish the job properly. Their enemies would always come back to threaten the people, even the same ones that escaped their grasp, and find new ways to rack up a higher body count than last time. That, and the JL always whine about how the law should be handled even when it always ended in the favor of many crime lords and psychopaths.

At least the Avengers had the balls to do whatever was necessary to keep people safe, even if it meant mowing down terrorist factions through lethal force… which unfortunately started a pissing contest between the two groups over the way they deal with their threats.

'But at least the Avengers are also a little… tolerant towards the likes of us, considering they haven't visited us yet.' Venom said.

"If they did, we'd join them over the League any day. Anyway, let's see if this town got last night's message." Eddie said as he sat on the couch and turned on the old TV. After flipping over some boring channels, he stopped at the Gotham News channel to see Gotham City's top reporter, Vicki Vale standing in front of an alley.

"This is Vicki Vale live outside an alley south of Gotham City where a disturbance was reported nine hours ago. A young woman, whose name remains undisclosed, stated to have been walking home from work when she was suddenly dragged into this alley behind me by two men, identified as Del Isaacs and Mason North, wanted for thirteen rapes and seven murders, who planned to make her their next victim, until someone, or something, stepped in and killed the assailants in violent ways; Isaacs was killed instantly from a fractured skull and neck after being forcefully thrown headfirst onto the ground, and North was left… half-eaten. The woman described her savior as a large black figure with white eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth, before revealing her savior's name as Venom, the Lethal Protector from San Francisco who made his first appearance three months ago around the same time the Life Foundation was exposed for performing experiments on several homeless people that have been missing for months."

"According to reports in San Francisco, his modus operandi is mainly biting off and eating the heads of violent criminals with murder, rape, or terrorism in their records, those who have avoided justice due to insufficient evidence or personal connections. In spite of such horrific methods, he has garnered overwhelming support from the citizens of San Francisco, as well as credibility from the Bay Area's police force for putting an end to several investigations that have been put on hold."

"However, in spite of saving a young woman from sexual assault, as well as having a sheer amount of supporters in San Francisco, we are hesitant to label him a hero due to his 'take no prisoners' attitude, which is a marked difference from what we are used to from our heroes. Additionally, he seems to be entirely indifferent as to whether people know his name and appearance."

"Only time will tell which side of the law he is on and what he is here to do. Viewers are however encouraged to vote on our poll and give your opinions on whether Venom is truly here to clean up the streets, or to make a name for himself in the criminal underworld."

Eddie turned off the TV and leaned back with a heavy sigh. Of course there would be divided reactions to Venom's arrival. The San Franciscans had gotten used to the Lethal Protector keeping them safe, even if his methods were a little messy, but with other cities that had their own "heroes", they'd be having a hard time adjusting to someone like Venom.

'They'll come around.' Venom assured. 'Still, now that we're in the Bat's territory, should we try to find the Joker next? I'm dying to get a piece of that ass-clown.'

"Later. He's been in hiding since he broke out of Arkham a few weeks ago. No gas attacks, no bombings, nothing. But we'll get him once he pops up." Eddie said, finishing his sentence in a dark tone.

Despite Eddie's mild-mannered attitude, and Venom's snarky one, the mere mention of the Joker made their blood boil. He tortured and murdered hundreds, maybe thousands of innocent people, abused his self-proclaimed girlfriend, and caused property damage, all because he found everything involving death and violence to be funny. Yet, despite all the blood he had spilled, Batman still chose to throw him back into the revolving door called Arkham Asylum, just so he can break out and do it all again.

That was what had been on his mind ever since he interviewed Cletus Kasady in San Quentin.

Throughout the interview, he could see the similarities between the clown and the redneck; both strived for death and chaos for the sheer pleasure of it all. The difference is that while the Joker busted out of Arkham nearly every day of the damn week or month or so, Kasady's escapes happened rarely, and after seeing the cage he was in, this time it was certain he would be locked up for good until he's a withered corpse. Still, Eddie, like many others in San Francisco, had secretly prayed that he wouldn't break out, or that he didn't have any outside help that could potentially bust him out.

So far he hasn't, thank God. The entire San Quentin staff looked like they were doubling their efforts to keep animals like him caged, more so than the delusional idiots at Arkham trying to "cure" their patients. The only "cure" those monsters deserved was the death sentence after getting away with butchering so many innocent people, yet the doctors treated them with undeserved sympathy and blissfully ignored the families of the victims lost to the Joker, Scarecrow, or Zsasz. Still, unlike how Batman deals with his enemies, if Kasady found some way to break out, Venom will be sure to send him back in one piece.

Or many pieces.

'You're thinking too much.' Venom's voice broke him out of his thoughts. 'This sad, depressing cesspool's probably having an effect on you. Why don't we go somewhere more… refreshing?'

"If it means getting out of the Bat's radar, I'm up for it." Eddie said as he went for his bedroom and grabbed his duffel bag. "Next stop: Metropolis."

Later

Admittedly, the cab ride to Metropolis was a long one. Traffic jams, road rage, country music to pass the time. In fact, it made Eddie wish he had brought his bike on the trip to Gotham before he left SF. Still, it was half an hour until he arrived, paid the cabbie and made his way through the City of Tomorrow.

It was almost the splitting image of New York, as far as Eddie could remember when he lived there; bright, clean, decent looking people. Eddie could tell why people from Gotham moved here just to be safer.

Still, in spite of the joyful scenery, it was still just as dangerous, if only a little less so than Gotham; crime was always bound to be in broad daylight. Even though Eddie and Venom usually made "nightly patrols", they occasionally jumped into broad daylight during a purse snatching, or a high speed chase.

Just as he finished taking in the scenery, his phone rang in his pocket, prompting Eddie to take it out and answer without looking at the caller.

"Eddie Brock. Whaddya want?"

"To make sure you're doing okay, dummy." came the teasing voice of his ex-fiancée, Anne Weying.

"Annie, hey! Wasn't expecting you! How ya doing?" he greeted in a rushed tone, slightly embarrassed by his rude answering just a moment ago.

"We just saw the news. Hope that girl's doing okay. As far as I know, those two men who attacked her got away with thirteen rapes and seven murders, either because they killed some of the girls, or those who survived were too afraid to testify. Thanks to you, they can step forward and give their story, and those dirty fuckers will be in the dust. Still, it's probably got Batman's attention by now." she said, finishing her sentence with concern.

"So much for low profile." came the voice of Dan Lewis, who always checked up on Eddie's health ever since Venom decided to stay bonded with him. "Anyway, we're hearing cars and people over there. You taking a stroll?"

"Actually we're in Metropolis right now. Needed some fresh air after what happened in Gotham last night." Eddie explained.

"Seriously, you came to Gotham yesterday, now you're in the City of Tomorrow?" Anne asked in mild disbelief.

"Come on. You wanted us to get out, meet some new people, make new stories… tear apart some bad guys." Eddie finished in a hushed tone, so no one could hear him, and he could clearly picture Anne rolling her eyes.

"Are you still sure it's a good idea to take a, um… vacation to Gotham, or even Metropolis? You do remember what happened when the Justice League came here to San Francisco to arrest you guys just because of how you run things." Dan pointed out with uncertainty in his voice.

"To shit with what they think. They need to open up more." Eddie said with disdain upon hearing the mention of the JL. "Still, if Batman knows Venom hit Gotham last night, and if Superman knows Venom is here too, they sure ain't gonna be in a welcoming mood."

"Just try not to get into deeper shit like last time." Anne said with worry.

"We'll be fine. If they give us more trouble, we'll come back to San Fransisco as soon as we can. We'll try to find someplace else to lay low in the meantime, maybe even dig up another story. Peace."

As soon as Anne and Dan said their goodbyes, Eddie hung up his phone and kept walking through the busy streets.

'Any plans before Boy Scout catches us?' Venom asked.

"I dunno, take in the sights, grab some grub, maybe get into some action."

As if on cue, they heard the sound of police sirens going off from the streets behind them in the distance, which then got closer and louder as a squad of police cars sped past the streets towards whatever crime was in progress.

"Ready for your good deed for the day, V?" Eddie asked with a smirk.

'Always.'

Metropolis City Bank

The quick police cars flipped off their sirens and lights as they gracefully stopped in front of the large bank. Eight police officers showed up in total to scope the banks, as the group slowly walked up the bank's large marble steps.

A strong cop kicked the door open as the group rushed in, guns out in defense as the whole bank had scared civilians on the ground at the mercy of over ten masked gunmen.

"Hahaha! Look, it's the police!" A mercenary holding a rocket propelled gun cackled with a cocky demeanor as he aimed his missile straight at the cops who had just entered into the bank through its entrance.

"Give 'em hell, Randy!" the mercenary in front of him shouted with glee.

The only response he got was a weapon dropping to the ground.

Confused, the mercenary looked to where Randy was, only finding the gun laying on the floor.

"Dammit, Randy! Why you gotta bail on our big payday?!" the mercenary complained as he picked up the gun.

And soon his hand was caught by a thick black tendril shooting from the ceiling, and he didn't have time to look up as he was dragged into the air screaming.

This of course brought everyone's attention as they looked up to the screaming thug, he was suddenly dropped down from the ceiling by the tendrils, letting him fall to the floor with a loud thud.

"Is this some sort of police trick?!" A mercenary with a rifle shouted as he aimed his weapon at the police officers and began to fire off several rounds. The officers took cover as the loud bursts caused civilians outside to scream and run in terror.

A half a minute later the man smirked and stopped firing his weapon, "How many of ya survived that?!" As soon as those words left the criminal's mouth, another black tendril shot from a darker corner of the room as it hit the man's gun and pulled it away, the mercenary slightly panicking with his weapon stolen, "W-What was that?!"

A mercenary holding a pistol shrugged his shoulders as he guarded several bankers, "I don't know what the hell is going on here!"

The questions of the confused mercenaries and cops about what was going on were quickly answered, as a huge black figure jumped from out of a dark corner in the ceiling, and landed in between the cops and mercenaries.

A shocked elderly woman keeping herself calm and unmoving on the ground looked up at the person who landed before her, taking notice of the muscular figure, and the black viscous material surrounding his whole body.

But the most interesting, and frightening detail noticed by everyone, was the face with menacing white eyes and mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

"What the hell is that?!" A mercenary shouted out as he aimed his machine gun at the hulking figure, until a long tendril shot out from its torso and snatched the gun away before tossing it aside.

Venom let out a beastly roar before lunging at the mercenary, rolling across the floor and then tossing the thug into a wall.

The other thugs opened fire on the monstrous vigilante, but nothing seemed to faze him as he smacked a few aside and slammed a few to the ground while the others quickly recovered.

A couple of shots from behind prompted Venom to turn around to see one of the mercenaries on the second floor aiming his gun at him with a panicked expression as the Lethal Protector looked up at him with a snarl before jumping towards the thug and then throwing him down the lobby floor.

Venom jumped from the ceiling and onto another panicking thug before grabbing him by the leg and slamming him to the ground several times, even swinging him into a few other thugs, knocking them out before throwing him into a corner across the bank.

Venom then dodged an over the head attack from another attacker with a stun baton and quickly grabbed the wrist holding the weapon and shoved it into the man's chest, making him scream as the volts of electricity coursed through him before Venom tossed him out into the open.

The two remaining mercenaries charged at Venom from both sides, when two tendrils shot out from Venom's sides and grabbed two thugs by the ankles before hoisting them in the air, leaving a cue for Venom to jump into the air and spin them around before tossing one into the wall and the other out the window and onto the streets.

The thug attempted to regain his footing when a strong hand pinned him back down before hoisting him up, and soon he was met with the grinning face of Venom.

"Nothing more refreshing than a hired gun in the morning." Venom rumbled before his tongue slid out and licked the side of the thug's quivering face, leaving a trail of drool in its wake.

"Venom!"

The Lethal Protector slid his tongue back into his mouth before looking up at the last person he wanted to see.

"Great. You again." Venom snarled as the Man of Steel descended from the sky with a glare.

"Put him down." Superman ordered.

Venom looked at him for a moment and then back to the thug before giving his answer.

"As you wish."

Without warning, he slammed the thug's face to the ground, and an audible crack was heard around the area for all to hear. With a hiss, Venom turned to Superman.

"Now, what do you want? We have places to be." he growled.

Superman, recovering from the shock of seeing the sheer amount of force Venom inflicted on the thug, used his X-Ray vision to see the man's current condition. Unconscious, but paralyzed for maybe a few months. He then turned his attention to Venom with a glare. "Why are you here?" Superman demanded with a hint of anger.

"Is this how you thank us for stopping a crime before you? Besides, nobody died today... yet." Venom asked as Superman glared even further. "One second please."

Venom knelt to the ground and picked up one of the weapons the thugs have dropped. Examining it closely, he saw the LexCorp label on the side of the gun.

Frowning to himself, he tossed the gun to one of the cops. "You should probably question Lex Luthor about why these thugs have his toys." Venom stated before popping his neck and started walking off when Superman stopped him.

"Hold it." the Man of Steel said in an authoritative tone. "You better have a reason for coming here. Especially after what you did last night in Gotham."

Venom merely snorted. "First off, we're both doing this outside of the law, so don't get all high and mighty with us. Second, there's no warrant for our arrest from the cops or the government, so what are you going to do? Beat the shit out of us and then lock us away in one of your personal prisons? That's called assault, kidnapping, and holding someone against their will, blue boy. Third, we're not hearing people complain about what we do. Can't say the same for the rest of you and your team of softies."

"It doesn't matter what the public's opinion is. This isn't San Francisco, you know." Superman argued.

"And San Francisco wasn't Metropolis or Gotham, either." Venom snarled back. "If we remember correctly, you and your little boy band walked into our city unannounced and uninvited just to tell us to quit eating scumbags. Not to mention the people booted your asses out because they didn't want you anywhere near us. So consider this visit even between us."

Superman only grit his teeth in response, mainly from being reminded of that incident and how it turned out, and things would've gotten ugly had a crowd of reporters not barged in to ask the Lethal Protector various questions, while the cops tried their best to clear them out, and Superman could only stand in silent frustration, lest he start another uproar like he and the rest of the Justice League did in San Francisco.

"Venom! How can you justify killing criminals?"

"Are you with the Justice League or the Avengers?"

"Are you planning to kill the criminals of Gotham and Metropolis like you've been doing in San Francisco?"

"Is it true that you bite your victims' heads off?!"

As the clamoring reporters continued their barrage of questions, a young woman with black hair, a purple shirt and white skirt pushed her way through the crowd to be the last to ask her own question, pulling out her tape recorder as a young man holding a camera followed behind.

"Excuse me! Lois Lane; Daily Planet! I have a question." Lois insisted as Venom grunted in annoyance before shrugging, gesturing her to ask away. "Venom, why do you play judge, jury and executioner? Is it because you get some sort of thrill out of it or because you believe you're in the right?"

Venom paused, and Lois froze slightly feeling his jagged eyes boring into her soul, before he gave his statement. "You think we kill because we enjoy it? You're talking about the Joker, Scarecrow, Zsasz; the difference between us and them is that they enjoy killing innocent people without consequence. We kill because it's the only way to keep scum like them off the streets. Besides, we don't kill every criminal we come across. Only those who murder, rape, or torture innocent people for their own pleasure and get away with it deserve death, but the Justice League are too blinded by their own egos to give the people what they want. If they don't have the guts or balls to do it… then we will."

Venom made his way past the crowd and was ready to make his leave, until Superman put his hand on his shoulder.

"You're not going anywhere." he said sternly. "Just because you stopped these men doesn't mean you're off the hook."

"You want this to go down like last time, asshole?" Venom warned, smacking Superman's hand away. "You made the first move last time. You and the rest of the League made a mess that we tried to clean up while you were focused on trying to catch us. That means you owe us. So please. Save yourself from further embarrassment."

Superman's eyes glowed red at the insult, while the reporters, cops and bystanders backed up in case things get messy.

"If you'll excuse us, we're going to take a stroll. In the meantime, feel free to throw these punks away." Venom said, gesturing to the unconscious thugs before turning away from the Man of Steel. "They're lucky this arguing made us lose our appetite."

Without another word Venom leapt into the air and ran across a building before swinging into another block, while the onlookers watched the Lethal Protector make his leave, even going into the direction he went. Superman glared once more before flying off to another direction. Batman already informed him of what had happened in Gotham last night, now it was time for a meeting with the rest of the Justice League about Venom's sudden arrival.

'Hell of a way to make a first impression.' Eddie spoke subconsciously as Venom stood on top of a tall building several blocks away from the bank they had saved.

"At least we know his ego is still bruised after what he and his gang pulled on us in San Francisco." Venom sneered. "Can't wait to see how the rest are still taking it."

'Still, maybe he's right. We're not in San Francisco anymore; one fuck-up and we're off to the slammer. Stryker's, the Raft, Belle Reve or worse, Arkham.' Eddie said, ending his sentence with a slight hint of fear in his voice at the last one; as far as he knows, the crazies in Gotham are always holed up in that hellhole for even the slightest mental illness, and if Eddie were to be caught, he might be diagnosed as a schizophrenic for having a voice in his head.

"To Hell with their rules. In fact, let them come after us. They're as stubborn as they come," Venom scoffed before leaping across several more buildings until he came to a stop above an apartment building where Eddie's duffel bag lay next to an air conditioning unit, right where they left it. As soon as he picked it up, Venom sank back into Eddie's body until the reporter was back in his civvies before he made his way towards the rooftop exit.

"Yeah, they'll come for us. We better hope we get help this time."

And here's the second chapter of my updated story. Sorry for the delay. As I mentioned before, I had college work on my mind, so I'll be putting more time on that and update once I have a clear mind.

Anyway, if you read closely, you'll notice some dialogue mentioning the Justice League's attempt to capture Venom in San Francisco ending badly, with only a few details given. I know what you're thinking, "What exactly did go down in San Francisco that started Venom's feud with the Justice League"? Speaking of whom, we will see them in the next chapter, and the story behind their feud will be explained in a later chapter.

As always, leave a review, and stay tuned!
