Removal To The Cabin:

The Crash Site:

Spirit was up and about before any of the survivors woke up. She stoked the fire into a blaze again to cook some more food and reheat last night's soup and broth. When she heard the stirring sound coming from the plane, she looked over and noticed the blonde haired human with the man lying on her leg looking at her. Spirit grabbed the bag that had had the hide blankets in it and moved to the woman.

"My name is Arizona. What's yours?"

"I am Spirit."

"That's a nice name, were you hiking when our plane crashed?"

"No, I live here. Heard and felt plane hit mountain. Came to see anyone live."

"What do you mean you live here?" the man whose head lay in Arizona's lap asked.

"Grew up here, animals raise me. What name?"

"My name is Mark."

"Mark, like when animals use restroom?"

"Yeah, that's a good way of explaining it."

"And friends? They wake up soon, you feel better after more tea."

"Your English sounds pretty rusty." Someone said behind me, though I only felt her words.

"Did you hear what Cristina just said?" Arizona asked.

"Deaf in one ear. Feel sounds, not hear out of this ear." I said pointing to my right ear.

"That must get annoying." Arizona said.

"What annoying?"

"Uh, can bother you." Mark said.

"Why annoy, don't need ear to hear."

"How so?" Cristina asked. I had moved near the fire again and could hear better out of left ear.

"Like, big boom shake ground when plane crash. Didn't hear but felt. Um, like earthshake."

"So if you live here, why doesn't anybody know about it?" The blonde next to the one called Cristina asked.

"Aunty told Uncle that I was Feral. They only two humans know I am here."

"Why didn't they tell anyone you were here?"

"Aunty say have perfect world, why mess up."

"How old are you Spirit?" Arizona asked.

"Been on mountain ten summers. Left here when six." I said holding up six fingers to show how long I had lived on the mountain. "Enough talk, need to get you well so travel today. Head to my home, be warm till rescue come. Aunty and Uncle come this evening, more shots to stay healthy. Need be there before get to cabin."

"You have a cabin? How'd you build it?" Cristina asked.

"Uncle built, I m-o-d-i-f-y over years. Build when I was twelve. Been living with it during winter but not summer. Keeps stuff from taken by bad animals. Not family animals."

"So what do you consider your family animals? And what about the mother that raised you?" Mark asked.
"Mother bear take me in when six, mother fox teach me to hunt quietly, mother wolf teach me family helps lot, mother fish teach me to swim, mother moose teach me find certain food, mother cougar teach me love, mother mouse teach me importance of family, mother eagle teach me I can't fly, mother deer teach me patience, mother beaver teach me build and father's stay away unless I hunting."

"You have a lot of mothers. So what did your Aunty and Uncle teach you?" Meredith asked, the blonde sitting next to Cristina was her name Meredith.

"They teach me read and write, teach me talk English and talk hand signs. Teach me cook, teach me medicine, teach me stay hidden when people around. The one that died and you cry, she not under plane anymore. Father's help me move her to cabin so can be taken down mountain. I wrap her in sheets and put her in bedroom where be safe. Little brothers and sisters watch over her. Know not to touch her. She safe. What was name?"

"Her name was Lexie, and she was my sister, Mark loved her."

"I see when he cries for her. See know how to be quiet and unseen when humans around."

"But why did you stay hidden for so long? We could have been in your cabin by now; warm with a fire and everything that would keep us alive through last night." Cristina asked.

"No one could move. Better stay here till morning. Better to move now, help from family. Father's bring help. Stay, don't move. Make litter. Move those not walk."

"What, wait, what animals are you going to use to get us to your cabin?" the man next to Meredith asked.

"I know your name, no. Um, moose father's help get to home. If need, will move put on backs of moose father's and get to home."

"My name is Derek, I am Meredith's husband, which basically means that I love her."
"I know husband. Mother wolf and father wolf husband and wife, though father wolf many wives. Yes, I know husband. Father Wolf need many wives, keeps pack strong, keeps pack healthy, many hunters with many wives."

"Guess she does know a thing or two about marriage."

"Can I get litter going to carry injured now? Need to get you to cabin 'fore Aunty and Uncle arrive with more books and lessons."

"Yeah, go ahead and get your litters to carry us. We are at your mercy young child." Mark said.

"I am not child anymore. Hit teen years, am teen. Or so Aunty and Uncle say."

"You never did tell us how old you were." Cristina said.

"Yes did. Told you I live here ten summers and was left here when was six summers old. So concludes, I sixteen summers old now. Yes, sixteen is right."

I left the small encampment and went to father moose who had brought brother moose' and older grandfather moose'. I smiled and went about grabbing things needed for the litter to carry the three unwalkable survivors. The other three could walk but the three that couldn't, would have to lay or sit on the litter.

The Cabin:

Once the litters were made, Spirit moved back towards the survivors with father, brothers' and older grandfather moose with her. The moose stopped and waited as the three that could walk helped Spirit move the three that couldn't walk onto the litters. And that's when Spirit asked a question.

"Is okay to move pilot? Or will hurt him more?"

"We can move him very carefully, but someone should ride with him to keep him steady. And we'll need to move very carefully down the mountain to get to your cabin." Derek said.

"Good, one of girls ride with him. Man that can walk, too heavy for litter. Now, which girl ride with pilot?"

"I will ride with him to keep him steady. I'm still missing one of my shoes anyways." Cristina said.

"Good. Then let's go. Aunty and Uncle will be at cabin soon and wonder where am."

"Alright, but shouldn't we secure the litters to the moose' before we go?"

"I bring moose family in now. Get all bags packed and will tie over backs of family so lose nothing."

"Or we could help carry some of it." Meredith said.

"You hurt, family and I carry stuff. Grab what want and let's get going."
