"There are moments that the words don't reach, there is suffering too terrible to name. You hold your child as tight as you can, and push away the unimaginable. " - Angelica Church Schuyler

The team of young combatants watched the destruction of the warehouse. They had found where they believed Cassie was and arrived just in time to watch it explode. They began to pray to the Elder Gods for their friend and commander's safety.

"Let's split," Jacqui said. "If she is here, the sooner we find her, the better."

Jacqui began to look through the remains of the warehouse. She already had a working theory in her mind. Kano had to be behind this. They would have exploded the other one with everyone if it wasn't personal. She had heard stories of her Aunt Sonya's rivalry with the dastardly Kano. She experienced it first hand when both she and Cassie were kidnapped by Kano.

"Guys, I found something," Takeda yelled. Kung Jin and Jacqui followed him to the pile of debris he was staring at. They were horrified at what they believe are human remains. A female remains to be exact.

"Crap, Cas," Jacqui said. She checked for a pulse, but there wasn't one. "No."

"Babe," Takeda said.

"No there's no way," Jacqui shouted, "Hey Cas, the joke is over. It's not funny anymore. You can't leave me!"

Takeda tried to hug his girlfriend, but she quickly pushed him away. Tears were now streaming down the junior Brigg's face. The other members of her team, silent tears falling their faces, silently morning their commander. Their friend. Their sister.

"Don't touch me," Jacqui screamed. She heard Kung Jin calling for backup. Jacqui didn't say anything. She didn't move a muscle. Her best friend was gone. Earth Realm had also lost one of its greatest defenders.

The ride back to the base was in silence. Some Special Forces officers took the body back to the main base. Jacqui was sitting near the back of the plane, running her hand through her hair.

Her phone was beginning to vibrate. It was laying in her lap. It was her father. His caller ID photo was taken the day he retired from Special Forces. It was of him and Jacqui in front of the fighter jets.

Jacqui answered the phone. "Hey, dad," Jacqui said.

"Thank the Elder Gods you picked up," Jax said. "I heard there was a causality during the mission."

"Yeah," Jacqui said. She was barely able to hold in a sob. "Yeah, I'm okay. But dad, Cassie is gone. We don't know much of what happened. But when we found her, she was already gone."

Jacqui began to ramble on the phone. It was the only noise on the jet at the moment. Jacqui began to ramble. She was inconsolable at the moment. She was on the phone, talking with her father. Something her best friend would never get to do again.

"I'll meet you at the base," Jax promised.

A week passed since that faithful mission. Kano had fallen off the face of Earth Realm again. All signs of where he went exploded with that building. All they had of him was the small amount of DNA on Cassie's body. Kano made sure it was hard to find him.

Sonya and Johnny were laying in bed. Sonya knew she wouldn't get a moment of sleep that night. She hadn't gotten one all week. No parent should have to bury their kid, but she did earlier that day. Cassie was given a military funeral made up entirely of the Special Forces. Cassie had dedicated her life to the Special Forces, and relationships outside of that didn't last long. Sonya remembered her mentioning seeing someone named Dylan before the mission, but she had no way of contacting the boy.

Sonya sat up on the bed. Her daughter was usually down the hall, sleeping in the dormitory. Sonya and Johnny had their apartment on the base for when they weren't living in LA. Sonya would sometimes visit the dorms at night to remember when Cassie was young. Back when she and Johnny were still in love. Now, they were trying to pull together the pieces of their relationship while dealing with the unthinkable.

Sonya didn't mean to wake up Johnny, but he sturred awake. "Soyn," Johnny muttered. "What are you doing up so late?"

"I should have killed him years ago," Soyna muttered degenerately.
