Lost Love.
It was almost like her life was spinning before her death as the hand that grabbed her and yanked her back with such force the two bodies were thrown into the surrounding people who caught them both with many limbs holding them both up all exuberantly happy that they had not just witnessed a death right in front of them as the truck now continued onwards at speed as Kyoko looked up into the eyes of Shoko, Sho's manager who righting herself grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her fiercely.
"What we're you thinking!" she cried out as the crowd who had been so happy at her saviour turned away to give the now furious woman and the woman she had just saved giving them privacy as they all continued on it would be a story to tell but as no one recognised Kyoko it never made the news and the truck driver would forever more remember golden eyes and never ran a amber light again.
"You should always! ALWAYS! look both ways! Even when the man goes green!" Shoko half shouted half sobbed as she dragged the younger woman into her arms and hugged her in a bone-crushing embrace.
"I'm so sorry Shoko-san," Kyoko said as her once limp arms grabbed the older woman and returned the hug as she sobbed at how close she had just become before she lost not only her life but all the chances she had left. It took a few more moments for Shoko to pull herself together enough to star Kyoko back towards LME, when one of Sawara's office friends saw the state both women were in it only took a few moments for the front desk to call up to him and get both woman in a private lounge with hot sugary drinks and a blanket in Kyoko's case as she started shivering violently.
Sawara came at as close to a gallop as his out of shape body would allow him Kanae and Chiori racing ahead, they had been handing in their own love me work when the call had come through about the incident and none of them even thought about running through the halls of LME to check if Love Me number one was ok with their own eyes.
To begin with, Sawara wondered if it would have been better if number two had not been present as she shouted and berated the shivering figure of Kyoko before grabbing her in a tight hug as she sat next to her and hid her face in Kyoko's hair as she whispered out words of how she couldn't lose her rival and her best friend. Chiori was quieter but when Kanae finally ran out of steam she sat on the other side of Kyoko wrapped her arm around her and hugged her tightly without words, if Kyoko had known she couldn't talk past the lump in her throat scared of breaking down as Kanae had she would of felt even more guilty she knew, so she kept it in and just hugged her tighter.
"Shoko-san I cannot thank you enough." Sawara said again lost for how to repay this woman who had just saved the life of the woman he had come to care so deeply for even with her oddities.
"Honestly I'm just glad I got to her in time." Shoko said as she sipped her second cup of strong tea, she had been on her way to LME to yet again ask for Kyoko's assistance with one of Sho's PV's she had come herself alone without Sho's knowledge in the hope she could have a nice chat with the young woman she herself admired for her tenacity, it was as if someone of something had directed her to look around before she stepped into the lobby that she caught that vital glimpse of Kyoko, there had been to many people and the streets to busy to catch up with her immediately so she had followed along behind going with the crowd until they had come to the crossing at the intersection.
She had been happy to wait to cross but when she looked up the road as the crossing light was on for them it was like someone else took over her body as she screamed pushed through the crowd and reached out for the girl yanking her back just as the truck breezed past her by mere millimetres. She had only just been in time a few fractions of a second slower and there would be no more Mogami Kyoko, no more love me number one.
It was as Sawara turned to Kyoko not sure whether to give her a good dressing down like Kanae or play the kindly father role and tell her everything was fine he was just about to speak when words started tumbling from Kyoko's mouth. They were in no real order and until she had spoken a few words the first did not make sense but slowly they seemed to wind around to a conclusion.
"He was so sad, I couldn't get it out of my head... So sad telling me about it being like a field full of flowers... He loved her so much and it's hurting him terribly... So much pain and sorrow but he fights to keep loving... After everything... After all this time he still wants to love...! I want to love like that!" her words were spoken out between heaving sobs, the type that you cannot halt or stop robbing you of breath and thought as you fight to try and contain a feeling bigger than yourself as Kyoko sat there trying to fight the overwhelming feeling of panic and just how sad Lory was but still kept fighting, at how shallow and naive she was to think love was a bad thing when it literally held everything together that was good in her world.
"Who was so sad?" Sawara asked her gently as the love me girls tried to calm her, stroking her arms and back as Shoko sat forwards in her seat placing her cup on the table as she reached over and took Kyoko's hands gangly on her own.
"Who is sad Kyoko?" she asked as tear-filled molten eyes locked eyes with those of the woman who had saved her life not 30 minutes ago.
"The president."
It took a further 20 minutes to calm Kyoko enough to get a decent representation of the story out of the girl, Sawara had sat down heavily in one of the free chairs as Kyoko mentioned the oncoming death anniversary of the president's wife, he had known the wonderful woman and felt fully privileged to do so as he nodded.
"Yes the president does seem to get quieter when the end of this month approaches every year." Sawara said thinking about how many flowers cards and gifts had been there that day the funeral procession had left from LME, the building had been shut down for all work no one inside the building was there to do a job, they had all gathered to say goodbye to a beautiful brave lady as actors, actresses, talents, musicians, directors and any type or job that could in anyway be connected to the show business world seemed to stand still in that moment go mark the passing of such a woman.
It wasn't only LME though, Akitoki, Red Label Music, Morietta School of Music and Dance, so many of the agencies, Schools, studio's were there and it had been like a sea of flowers. Was it 8 years since she had been gone? He asked himself as he ran his hand over the sudden pain in his chest at the thought.
"He can't *sniff* even go *sniff* to her grave tomorrow" Kyoko sniffed out as Shoko handed her a tissue from her pocket viewing her nose before she continued "and he really wants to go, you can see it in his eyes and he loves her so much." and with that kyoko tried uncontrolled herself once more, of Lory could be this brave so could she.
"I'm so sorry and I could never repay your kindness for saving me, I am now and always in your debt." she said as she bowed between her two best friends.
"It is heartbreaking to think of the president sad like that," Chiori whispered out, yeah sometimes he might get them to do odd and crazy things well more than sometimes, but even still after everything Chiori could not say it had all not helped her in some way, he had not asked for anything she could not do never asking her to break her limitations but pushing her to them so she could improve.
Even Kanae nodded her agreement as Shoko squeezed Kyoko's hands in reassurance as she had already said she was simply happy she had managed to reach her on time. It was as Kyoko looked into Shoko's eyes that she suddenly had an idea.
"Err Sawara-san?" she asked as the man looked up at her waiting for her to continue.
"With being a boss of the talent department do you have a way to email, everyone, at one time?" she looked over at he thought about it for a moment and nodded.
"Yeah I suppose I could why?" he looked rather confused at this turn of the conversation as suddenly Kyoko smiled.
"I might have an idea."
In the end, Kyoko's idea took a call to the president of the Akitoki agency who when brought up to date on the situation was happy to help and even after he had put the phone down to Shoko he himself had made a few more calls.
Maria handed her grandfather the folded letter which he flicked open and read to himself a frown and then a smile breaking out on his lips as he read the words there.
Hello Takarada Jun-san,
I know you do not know me, but my name is Mogami Kyoko and I work for your husband president Takarada Lory of LME. He told me today all about you, who you were, what you accomplished and what a simply wonderful woman, mother, wife and friend you were to everyone. I kind of feel sad knowing that I never got a chance to meet you, but even still the lessons you passed on to your husband are being passed on to everyone inside of LME.
Especially to me who believed that love was a terrible thing, I thought I had lost the ability to love when my heart was broken, but after hearing your and Lory's story I feel almost ashamed to have thought such a petty thing was worth of my heartbreak. Yes his actions and words stung, they pierced my heart like a dagger and twisted, but I was still alive. I could still fight on to find other people, people worthy of my love so in truth I was lucky! In finding his betrayal I was able to find new strength not only in my abilities which led me to acting but also in myself which led to me realising that I could love again and even though it scares me I now also believe that this love I have is a wonderful gift.
I almost died today, a truck running a light almost killed me on a crossing I was saved by the woman who was there when the man I loved broke my heart, it was her he was trying to impress with his big hurtful words and actions but still, she didn't hesitate to save me, more has she been anything but kind to me even where he is concerned if anything she tries to keep him in check around me but his childish tendencies are even more than she can control at times.
It was at that moment as I was about to die that I realised what my biggest regret would have been if I had died, it would have been the fact that I never gold people just how much I did truly love them, starting with the people who raised me, my mother for simply giving birth to me when she could have chosen another option and made her life easier for herself.
My landlords for treating me like their own daughter, my best friends for accepting me as I am, I know I'm not what people would ever class as normal but they accept that and all of me. Kuu and Julie Hizuri for taking me in under their wings and teaching me so much, my manager who manages the busiest man in the showbiz world that I know but also takes the time to manage me.
To your family, especially your husband who gave me the biggest chance of my life teaching me your method why focus on hate and revenge when there are so many different types of love I could be out there searching for and finding!
So starting right now I am going to go out there and honestly tell people how I feel because even if they do not return my sentiments I have in my actuality of having that love found truth.
Takarada Jun-san you were truly a blessing on this world and although your husband could not be here today I hope me and my fellow love me friends will be able to care for you as you deserved until your husband and family can visit you.
Rest easy Jun in the knowledge that even if it's not in the romantic way your husband is loved so very dearly by so many people me included.
Mogami Kyoko xxx
Refolding the letter he smiled and chuckled to himself she truly was an astounding woman and Jun would have loved her so much.
"What did it say, grandpa?" Maria asked as he turned and scooped her up in his arms.
"It wasn't for us Maria, it's for Grandma so I think we should leave it for her eyes and ears." Maria thought about it and nodded.
"Was it from Onee-san?" she asked after a moment and Lory did chuckle.
"Yes it was from your Onee-san, it was the Love Me girls who came and cared so well for grandma when we could not so we had better thank them next time we see them." Maria again nodded, she had only been 4 when her grandmother had died, but she could still remember the kind and caring woman who loved her so dearly.
"I think grandma would have liked Onee-sama," Maria said then matter of factly and Lory really did chuckle out loud as he put Maria down once more after a fierce hug.
"I do to Maria, I do to." he heard rather than saw Rens smile as a faint laugh also passed his lips at the thought of what would have happened if Kyoko had met his infamous wife.
"They would have been a force to be reckoned with together," he spoke out softly thinking of Jun the woman who loved everyone so much and Kyoko the woman who loved so much in a non-romantic way of cause but was so scared of it.
"Oh and you can bet the love me section would be obsolete." Lory said with a chuckle "she would have already turned those girls around and have them acting in Hollywood by now." Ten shuddered at the idea of how true and how fast Kyoko would have left him if Jun had still been alive to meet the girl.
"I think you're doing a wonderful job with those ladies, don't sell yourself short," he said, pushing that idea from his mind as Lory laughed loudly this time as for the first time he turned and looked at the younger man.
"All this from the man who scoffed when I told him about my new section hmm" Ren had the decency to blush a little as he cleared his throat.
"Well maybe me who should probably be in the very section you created wouldn't know a good idea about love when he saw one." Lory chuckled again and patted his shoulder before turning back to the headstone.
"Hear that Jun, there might be a chance for the futures love stories yet." Maria now laughed as Ren sighed but smiled wholeheartedly before they all set about removing the incense sticks that had burnt away replacing them with fresh and adding their flowers to the vases already containing a multitude before praying.
When the sedan car pulled up outside LME's main entrance the large Thoroughfare where normally people would be wondering by on their own errands was packed with people looking at the front of the LME building itself, Lory wondered what was going on? Had one of his upper managers got something interesting showing on the screens he wondered, referring to the two large screens they had facing outwards from the lobby where they would advertise their talents, new music, movies and dramas they were promoting there was always something on them even if it was just the LME logo bouncing around but this was such a large collection of people he wondered just what were they showing today?
It was as he stepped out of the car and turned back to help Maria out that a light breeze picked up and suddenly his nose was full of the beautiful scent of flowers, it was almost overwhelming as he turned to stare back at the building that was as much his home as his mansion was it was then as a courier split the crowd a carpeted walkway could be seen and as he took slow steady steps closer his heart hammered as he watched the scene before him.
Kanae and Yashiro we're opening up bouquets Yashiro taking the card Kanea handed him as she described the bouquet at the same time cutting through the wrapping snipping the bottom of each of the items inside before placing it into and already overflowing bucket beside her, within seconds one of the men Lory new worked in the music department was picking up the bucket while Ten pushed another bucket across to Kanae that she had just finished filling with water from a hose.
He watched as the guy carrying the bucket approached a lady who Lory realised was Fuwa Sho's manager. she had been covered by the courier she had already directed to take his flowers inside the door as she pointed the man with the bucket across to what seemed to be a number of the stage steps they hand in the building lined up against the windows all covered in flowers so closely packed that they had run out of room and where now placing them on the floor before them.
Lory's eyes flicked up to the Screens that he had thought people where looking at to see his favourite picture of his wife standing there laughing looking radiant, it had been taken at her sons wedding and she looked more beautiful than the multitude of flowers that she herself had grown in their garden so his son and future daughter-in-law could have the reception in the Takarada grounds surrounded by beauty.
Above the picture where the simple words:
In Memoriam of
Takarada Jun
Wife, Mother, Grandmother
and Friend.
There is one great happiness in this life,
to love and be loved.
Mother of LME.
And then as that breeze blew yet again stronger and a hush fell over the people around him petals danced through the wind as a woman stood in LME's open doors, for a single moment in time Lory could swear he saw her Jun... she had stood there smiling at him with the biggest grin on her face then as he blinked she was gone and there at the doorway stood Kyoko.
It was almost like it had been practiced as everyone who had been working stopped at their tasks and lined the entrance to the building, Lory was reminded of a red carpet he had walked so many times before as he stood still stunned and like a wave the people awaiting him bowed deeply Kyoko in all of her perfect poise and grace bowed almost 90 degrees as she spoke out loud and clearly.
"Welcome Home Takarada-Sacho." Maria who had also been struck by the beauty before her grasped his hand tightly and sighed in awe at the picture before them, when the funeral had been held Lory had told Kyoko, LME had been like a flower field. Now seeing the time effort and care it looked more like a beautiful garden. None of the Boeing people raised their heads as they stayed as they were showing the respect they held for the man before them as, as Kyoko had said in her letter Lory was truly loved not only by his staff and friends, but also in the industry he had become such a big part of so as Ren gave his back a little nudge in the right direction Lory strode forwards towards the doors of the business and family they had started together and as he reached Kyoko and she stood smiling as brightly as his wife had always done he spoke out;
"I'm home" before grabbing Kyoko in the biggest hug.
