This was the first story I had come up with after creating 'Jiraiya's Vision' and I already had a kind of layout. I've said that I like to go with the flow but for some stories I do a general flow chart first and stick with some ideas until a coherent story comes about.
I like to leave these prompts very vague because this allows whoever reading this to fill in the blanks themselves and have them think about what could happen. What you may come up with may be completely different to what I had thought of and it allows for more variety. I explain what I'd check off on my bullet point list, but it's not the end all be all. Come up with your own story and go wild with it.
Summary: I have lost all that I cared for. Where others moved on like the grains of sand before the buffeting winds, I stayed in place. I stayed, not in hope for what once was would return, but to rip asunder the thing that caused my sorrow. I had searched for who was responsible for it all, and I had found it. Found him, and proceeded to do what needed to be done. In the end did what I had set out to do, like I've done every time before...but what cost? My Kage dead, my body dead, and my heart dead. Perhaps a change is in order. Perhaps it is time to say goodbye to the sands.
This story is about Sasori, and I took the complete opposite approach on how to redeem him. I made it so that he was a good person from the very beginning, and that canon Sasori took a wrong turn. The reason for this is because I can't see how I could redeem him like I could with Kakazu after everything he's done.
Him turning the Kazekage into a puppet without wasting anything of his body would indicate experience, and Sasori left the village when he was around 15. That meant he's been making human into puppets since a very young age. A horrendous act of perverse immortality has been in the works for Sasori since he was a child, and I don't know how I could make him turn from that into the type of person I'd want him to become.
So here Sasori hasn't been desecrating bodies since he was probably 10. I don't think that simultaneously using 100 puppets in tandem is feasible, so I changed how he fights in almost it's entirety. Seals. Different from how most others use them, because those seals affect the external world. The seals Sasori uses are ones that affect the mind. Think Yamanaka, but seals instead of jutsu. He still uses puppets, he's just able to wield puppets so well because of his own mental seals.
Canon Sasori is able to use seals moderately well compared to most, as seen when his Kazekage puppet has a seal that launches out an arm with the same kind of seal, making a literal wave of arms which was pretty sick. Not to mention the Flamethrower and Waterjets he has are seals, and producing that kind of fire power with seals isn't something just anyone can do.
Here though, here he uses seals in such a way that he's a one of a kind shinobi. He gains a friend who also loves the sealing arts, but is later killed. What I thought about happening was that Sasori would try to bring his friend back using puppetry and seals, but instead of getting him back he gains his memories. That leads to Sasori figuring out who killed his friend, getting revenge, and leaving the village for good.
The main reason I called this story "Spider Lilies" is because it may seem odd but when taking the flower's meaning into context then it starts to make sense. Spider lily are viewed as a goodbye, and helps with the cycle of reincarnation. Sasori parting with the sands after he completes his goal is a very strong goodbye that matches the flower's meaning to a tee. I also used a flower specifically because the only other allied village with the sand at the moment is the leaf, so it's to foreshadow about where he's headed off to.
Spider Lily are also just pretty.
Like in my previous entry I don't have anything set in stone for this. Some bullet points I would want to reach are very much like Kakazu's, in that he adopts a bunch of kids by replicating and implanting his memories using seals into orphans so they can grow up with a parent that teaches them things. I'd want him to still create puppets out of bodies but it would be for a different reason than cannon Sasori.
I just realized that Sasori and Kakazu have very similar styles, at their core. Being that they kill someone, and then use that person's body to become stronger via some kind of puppet. I don't do anything to change that, but I instead tweak some parts of them to have the ability to build up armies for the sole purpose of them becoming a good person and helping kids. Them being good people actually helps them become stronger in my prompts cases.
If you have any thoughts on this then please say so! Even if it's to say that I suck and stuff, although if you could tell me why I suck then that'd be great! Feel free to try your hand at writing this if you want to as well, just don't like completely plagiarize it, give it your own spin and have fun with it! If you'd want me to elaborate more on this prompt as well then feel free to ask!
