Chapter 2

Underneath Peach's feet this whole time was in fact a large basement with hieroglyphics-esque markings of the Mushroom Kingdom, the Toadstool family, Bowser and in the middle, a star-shaped indent.

Mario looks and goes around the enormous room, while asking, "We were prepared for when he would attack but not why. Did you know about this Peach?"

No. I really don't. But it does look like a fabulous place to throw a party in. After the Toads fix this hole of course. And maybe build an elevator too. She answers as Toads fall from above to a cushion on the floor.

Luigi also takes a look around and comes across some writing that's in a language he's never seen before, "Hmmm… What do you think this says?"

Peach walks over to it, "Hey, I feel like I've seen this before."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"So what does it say?"

"I don't know."

"I thought you've seen this before?", raising his voice a bit.

Peach raises back, "That doesn't mean I understand it! Gosh!"

"Well, you should've said so!", even higher than Peach.

Mario interjects, "Guys, calm down. Let me take a look". He takes a short pause before going, "Ok who here understands mushroom writing?"

An old toad steps up and translates the text for them, "On one fateful twilight, this celestial entity has come into our realm, bringing to us light, order, hope and unlimited energy."

"From its core we built the foundation in which our descendants may stand for thousands of years. It is a powerful thing and like all powerful things there are those who seek it both for good and for evil."

"Monsters from the darkest parts of the world to beings from the heavens came to retrieve the star that built our kingdom. We really had no problem sharing but the other two did and unfortunately we were caught at a crossfire between two warring sides."

"King Toadstool used the power of the great star, driving away both their forces creating peace once more. And so this chamber now exists to keep secret the location of the STAR OF THE KING."

"Woooooaaaahhhh." Luigi says, wide-eyed. But then suddenly asks, "So what does it say?"

Peach slaps him over the head, "He just said it dumb-dumb!" She then turns to the old Toad asking him, "How come you know all about this and I don't? I'm the princess!"

"The king wanted the secret to die with him so that no one else, not even his own people would know just to keep it safe.", the old Toad answers.

But Mario, still wondering about the entire ordeal, starts asking, "So why does Bowser even want it? Why go through all this trouble to get a freakin' battery which he clearly doesn't need? Also aren't there already a bunch of powerful stars up there in space? Why do they want this specific star?"

AT THE KOOPA CASTLE OF THE KOOPA KINGDOM, the warship arrives at Bowser's castle slightly battered and almost out of gas. The Koopalings exit all tired and beaten up. A hatch opens up where Bowser was kept all throughout the trip. Junior confidently holds the big star like a big trophy to which Ludwig responds with a bonk to his head, taking the star. This goes along with all the siblings, in their reverse order funny enough, ending up in Larry's hands before Junior somehow loops around and gets the star again and then throwing it atop a giant pedestal.

Ludwig chews out Junior, "Hey Junior, we did all that dirty work!"

Junior bites back, "Yeah? Well I'm the one who knew about the darn thing, and it took so much digging, I literally did the dirty work!"

Bowser walks in, his shadow engulfing his children, he blasts a fire ball at a large metallic chandelier, lighting up the hall. "SILENCE, ALL OF YOU", his voice quaking the castle and the children stay quiet, possibly for the first time in a while. He does seem grumpier than usual, probably from earlier or maybe it's all the scars, or all those deaths at the hands of that plumber.

"THE STAR MUST NOT BE DISTURBED", Bowser then turns towards the wizards.

Using a very specific magic they take the star from the Koopalings into a large circular chamber with a placement for the star and a wide extraction device above it. Connected to the star are wires that mysteriously lead somewhere outside the hall.

Out of sheer unbridled curiosity building up within Lemmy, he lays a single finger(?) on the star, a small power surges within him. Roy approaches, but suddenly Lemmy effortlessly lifts him up and grows as big as him.

BACK AT THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM, Mario and friends try to get transportation to get back the star, unfortunately during the attack, some pipes are blocked, some were destroyed, a Yoshi is missing, and the hot air balloon is rendered unusable, so they decide to just go it on foot, like...always…

Peach right now doesn't know what to do around the castle, since she spent a lot of her life kidnapped by Bowser, and yet, through a Herculean leap of logic and audacity, Luigi asks her, "You wanna come along Peach?"

Let your imagination run wild on what happened when he asked that. I will give you this tidbit, they revoked M and L's supplies and are left to fend for themselves and are now on their way to retrieve the Star of the King.
