Chapter 1: What just happened?
Steve rubbed his head and looked around to see the other five original avengers including Tony, who they had no idea whether or not he had survived up until now and Clint, who had disappeared from his house arrest when his family disappeared. They were in a narrow white corridor in front of a wooden door. He looked over to Tony whose first words were, "I lost the kid." The others took that in, he left with the kid, Spiderman, who was sort of Tony's sidekick or intern of the hero type. None of them really knew the kid as they had only met him at the airport fight where he had stolen his shield, Bruce and Thor hadn't met him at all, but they knew he was on the young side. Even Tony wouldn't be reckless enough to recruit an actual minor so the kid would have to be at least 18 or 19 but still too young to die.
Tony remembered how Peter had clung on to him, the kid was what 15? 16? And way to young to have come, even if he did stow away. He puts on the helmet, wishing he had put on his full suit before being taken to wherever this is. "F.R.I.D.A.Y, where are we?" He asked his A.I. You are in an apartment block in central Sokovia sir, and I've found something strange, the date is 1999. Tony relayed this to the others who stared at him in shock but didn't freak out like most would. After all, if Norse gods, aliens, monsters, and stones that wiped out half the universe are common knowledge time travel didn't really seem farfetched. "Besides Banner and I would have invented it scientifically at some point," Tony tried to joke.
Nat didn't laugh at Tony's joke, she didn't quite believe him on the fact they all somehow time traveled but it made sense if they where in Sokovia, it didn't exist anymore in their time after neighboring countries took over the land. The others seemed to be taking everything in but not her, at least not that anyone could tell. She'd been trained to hide her emotions at the Red Room. She spotted the man with balding brown hair carrying a case first, "We're a little lost sir, please could you direct us to the nearest inn or hotel." The man looked at the group and said, "you don't want to go out now, there's a bigger firefight then usual down there. You're American or English right? You can stay with my family for the night, though I warn you it's TV night so the kids will want to practice English with you." Natasha thanked the man and sent a glare at Tony to hide his helmet in Steve's backpack knowing she couldn't really ask Thor to change out of his Asgardian clothes. The man leads them through the door after saying, "My name is Olek Maximoff by they way."
Clint was conflicted as he watched a woman looking quite a bit familiar greet Olek in Sokovian. From what he could follow as he was rusty in the language the talk was about Olek not selling many DVDs then went on to explain about their 'guests'. That wasn't what was nagging at his mind though 'Maximoff' could they be… "In English, Papa," A young, brown-haired boy shouts, "you said the only rule of TV night is that we have to practice our English. And who are they?" The boy looks up in awe at the avengers.
"I know Pietro, we were just making do with a little Sokovian, these are our guests, we can have introductions later, now where's your sister?" Clint's head swam, 1999, Pietro Maximoff, it couldn't be. Pietro looks around and calls, "Wanda, Wanda."
Authors note- I know this isn't great but I'll get to the good bit later, for those of you (probably all of you) who have watched Wandavision know what will happen next chapter but bear with me until I can get to the real story.
