Kikyo smoothed her uniform out and curtseyed before her new master. At least the child was not a demon. His soul was pained, crying out, but very strong.

It reminded her of her own soul. She didn't want to admit it, but her soul had once been tainted by hate and revenge, but it had been absolved by Kagome.

She feared it would return to that state if she remained in the presence of that demon.

"Young Master." Kikyo said. "Your tea."

She presented it to him. Ciel looked up. "A cake. This must be your doing; Sebastian would never allow it."

"I don't care what that demon says!" Kikyo snarled. "You want cake you shall get cake. Anything to soothe your damaged soul."

"That's a bit rude." Ciel said. "You will show respect to your master."

Kikyo swallowed her pride and curtseyed. "I apologize Young Master.

Ciel dismissed her and Kikyo left, sighing. Little by little, she would save his soul. Before her time ran out.
