Chapter 2: The Hollow Shot Part 2

As Beckett woke up in a dark, hollow shell of a building, tied up heavily into a wooden chair. It was dark, noting to be seen in the distance apart from a couple of masked men in heavy armour working at dual tables, setting up weapons and grenades. Beckett was lucky to even be alive at this point considering just before she was abducted, she was bleeding out in the back of an ambulance.

"Hey, where am I, where's Castle," shouted Beckett across the empty room, the sound of her voice echoing off the walls.

"Oh, Shes awake, get the Senator," asked one of the masked men, hovering above an AK-47.

"Senator..." said Beckett before being cut off with the sound of her arch rival.

"Yes, Kate it's me, I'm back, of course it is to your demise as you put me in prison all those years ago," replied Senator Bracken, to the face of Beckett looking like she had just seen a ghost.

"But you're supposed to be dead, the news said that you died in prison from suicide," replied Beckett.

"Ha, you really believed that, I thought you were smart, as a cop I would have thought that you would know that you shouldn't believe and trust anything that you see," laughed Bracken taunting Kate.

"Why am I still alive, if you wanted me dead you would have just let me bleed out?" questioned Beckett.

"Kate, I want to kill you but not yet what I am going to do is, I am going to do is to wait for your husband, Castle and your two friends Javier and Kevin to figure out where you are and when they come here to help you, I am going to get all these men surrounding you with all these powerful weapons and explosives to confront them and I am then going to kill you in front of them, then they are going to die as payback for all you guys have done to me in the past and there's nothing that you can do about it," said Bracken, in a devilish tone.

"Shut up, you scumbag, you won't kill me and Castle, Javier and Kevin will be here soon and they will take you and all these mysterious people around me," replied Beckett, spitting at the evil man in front of her.

"Trust me, they won't be here anytime soon," said Bracken.

"Why, won't they?" asked Beckett.

"Because you have been gone for two months and it's all over the news saying that most likely you are dead at this point, it been two months with no new leads or evidence, I highly doubt that they have kept looking for you, that plan I was talking about earlier that's plan B, you must really miss your kids all those memories you are going to miss, sending them to school, seeing them at their weddings..."

"Don't you dare talk about my kids like that"

"Or what, you can't do anything about it,"

"I am going to do something, and I will get out of here before you can do any plan you have thought off," replied Beckett, getting into the face of Bracken.

As a shock of electricity went through the veins of Beckett, with the scream of her voice wailed out with the faint sound of the word 'Castle'.

2 months earlier. Just after the kidnapping.

"Where is she," shouted Castle, drowning in worry and fear.

"I don't know, Castle it's not like any of us could see, we were all knocked out whilst it happened," replied Javier.

"Well, she must be somewhere around here," worried Castle breathing fast

"There is a strong chance she isn't from the looks of it we were out for hours," said Ryan.

"All we can do right now is get Laine in to examine the body of the doctor in the back of the ambulance and see what DNA and evidence we can find," said Javier.

As they got back to the precinct. To try to move forward with this case.

"This can't be happening, not now, not again," said Castle nervously pacing back and forth at the precinct.

"Richard Castle!" shouted Captain Gates coming out of her office angrily walking towards him.

"You need to go home; you are clearly too scared and worried to work on this case at the moment and that can affect your judgement and make you do even more stupid things than you do already, go home and get some rest and take care of your kids, now that they might not have a mother to take care of them and we will take care of this case and we will find Beckett we just have to hope that she is still alive," shouted Captain Gates to Castle making sure that the entire precinct could hear her.

"Okay, fine I'll go," replied Castle.

As Castle reached his home and opened his door to the sound of his kids screaming and jumping around making a mess of the apartment.

"Oh, hi dad, where's Beckett," said Alexis already wondering about what happened.

"I need to tell you all something," said Castle talking to his entire family as Alexis and Martha were babysitting for him and Beckett.

He got everyone to calm down and be quiet so he could tell them the news about Beckett.

"So earlier today, Beckett got seriously injured and whilst we were transporting her to the hospital to save her life she got abducted from the back of an ambulance and I couldn't help her," said Castle.

"Why couldn't you help her surely you were there," replied Martha, holding all the kids trying to keep them calm and relaxed

"They caused a distraction and we all got knocked out making it very easy for them just to take her from the ambulance, I was stupid, I should have known what was going to happen, it's my fault," said Castle virtually falling into tears.

2 months later.

"It has been two months since the disappearance of the NYPD detective Katherine Beckett, NYPD say that there has not been any new leads or evidence for this case in weeks and they say there is little hope left to find her alive..." read the news spokesperson, Castle watching on from his office chair.

It was a dark, dull day in New York fitting for the circumstances.

There was no way of them finding Beckett, not anytime soon at least.

To be continued.
