"Eddy?"

Eddy looked up at Daniel, both faces tear stained.

"Are you okay?" Daniel asked.

"Considering my younger brother got kidnapped and that his life is in danger, yeah, I'm brilliant!" Eddy said sarcastically.

Daniel snorted. "You're still too bloody sarcastic."

Eddy smiled. "I get that from Grandda."

"As well as the hair." Daniel added, smirking.

"We all have the hair!" Charlus said, joining in the conversation. Eddy rolled his eyes.

"Wait!" Minerva said. The Manticore appeared in the middle of the room again.

"You can follow orders. My spies saw Dumbledore and Selwyn outside Gringotts. Listen here very carefully. Dumbledore's phoenix will take the money to the front area of the Shrieking Shack. The bird will come straight back. I will send someone to collect the money."

"Is Monty alive or what?!" Minerva yelled as the Manticore disappeared. "We need to know this! Come on!"

"He is." Charlus said, tears streaming down his face. "He is alive. I know Monty is alive."

"He's a fighter- oh fuck." Minerva swore. "Uncle Harry and Aunt Lottie."

"Should we contact them?" Edward asked. Charlus shrugged.

"Yeah, we should." Daniel said. "Or Mum wil-"

BANG!

"I spoke too soon."

"Yup."

Because Henry and Charlotte Potter were standing in the doorway.

"How?!" Minerva cried out.

"Selwyn sent us a Patronus." Henry said. He looked at Dippet. "Please tell me it isn't true."

"I wish it wasn't." Dippet said sadly.

Henry paled.

"Why is it always us?"

Charlus buried his face in his hands, trying to hide the tears that were streaming down his face.

Monty. An innocent twelve year old.

Charlus didn't watch as Dumbledore sent his phoenix, Fawkes, to the Shrieking Shack with the money.

He was too busy recalling past memories.

Flashback

Seven year old Charlus Potter was reading a book on Quidditch one afternoon when his youngest brother, Fleamont, screamed from the backgarden.

Charlus ran outside to see Fleamont on the ground, clutching his knee, which was bleeding.

"What is it?" Charlus asked as Fleamont looked at him with tear filled blue eyes.

"I fell." Fleamont sobbed.

Charlus's face softened. "Let's get you inside."

And Charlus helped his youngest brother off the floor, letting Fleamont put an arm around him as Charlus walked back to the manor.

The two entered the kitchen and Charlus made Fleamont sit down on the chair as he rummaged through the First Aid kit that his father insisted on having in the house (they needed it with six children)

Charlus took the bandages and the anti infection cream out of the box. Fleamont's eyes widened.

"Can you roll up your trousers, Monty?" Charlus asked the four year old gently. Gulping, Monty rolled up his trouser leg.

Underneath was a bloody and bruised mess. Fleamont began sobbing again.

"Calm down Monty." Charlus said gently as he rubbed the cream on his knee. Fleamont nodded and wiped his nose on his sleeve.

"You're being very brave, you know?" Charlus said. "Maybe you'll be a Gryffindor like Grandda one day."

Fleamont smiled tearfully as Charlus wrapped the bandages around his knee. He patted his older brother on his head.

Charlus smiled. How he loved his little brother.

Fleamont's knee was now bandaged and he was smiling.

"Are you alright now?" Charlus asked as Fleamont slipped off the chair.

"Yeah, I'm okay now." Fleamont said.

"Hang on-" Charlus said, pushing the chair over to the counter and reaching for a box of sweets.

Fleamont gasped and smiled in delight.

"Pick one." Charlus said.

Fleamont bounced up and down excitedly and took a small chocolate from the tin.

"Do you feel better now?" Charlus asked.

Fleamont nodded, his small face lighting up with joy.

End Flashback.

Charlus looked up. Another Patronus had come.

"The chains will release Potter in twenty four hours. I do not know how it will take for him to reach you. He's a bloody mess."

"WHAT?!" Charlotte shrieked.

"We have to wait?!"

"OH IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN I'LL BE GOING FOR SOMEONE'S HEAD!" Minerva screamed.

"All we have to do is wait."
