SECOND IMPORTANT THINGY UPDATE THING
Hello again, again!
So a lot of you know the whole deal by now, I posted a crossover with The World Ends with You and Persona 5, that did great! But then I posted Persona 5 with Kingdom Hearts, that ALSO did great! Now while anyone would be happy that two stories have done great, I was kinda worried when I saw a lot of people following the latter story (that was NEVER planned on getting a follow up) and had that want, myself, to write more KH stuff without sacrificing the original story.
That said, I asked everyone who was reading those stories to voice (or write) their opinions on the matter and for the most part…everyone seemed cool with the idea I had in mind.
Combine all THREE!
So…that's what we're gonna do.
But what does this mean for the original story? Well for starters, the original will be "discontinued" but that doesn't mean its gone. I will be bringing it into this new story with all the original stuff with it, I just need to flesh out more of the chapter's lengths while at the same time making sure they aren't dragging on.
What you saw in the KH and TWEWY posts will be intergraded into the stories with some more layers and not rushed like I did with the former.
In short, the original story will still be the main focus just with KH.
What's coming?
Teammates:
For those of you who haven't played Persona 5, there is a total of eight characters including the main character, while in Royal (if you go for the true ending) there is an additional two characters, so in order to counter balance that, the main cast from TWEWY will be fitted in, minus Joshua for story purposes. So if you're not familiar with TWEWY's main cast, its Neku, Shiki, Joshua, Beat and Rhyme.
Joshua's position will be filled out by someone else which will NOT be revealed until we reach that point in the story.
As for the KH gang, yes gang, they will fill out the other half to counter balance with Persona. These characters are, obviously, Sora, Riku, Kairi and Naminé. Obvious reasons for the former two but why Kairi and Naminé? Because they need character development and that's a mission I will accomplish in ANY KH story I do.
Next, who else will go with them? That's another kettle of fish. I recall someone by the name Captain Imaginat asking would Donald and Goofy join them and the answer is…no. Now granted I could use the same method Morgana endures in the reality of the Persona world but given what the themes of each Palace entail, those two wouldn't fit in the world right. So sorry, but Donald and Goofy won't be part of the PT but they will have an appearance.
Currently I am thinking of Xion, Ventus and Roxas joining the gang but I won't be deciding that until I reach a certain point. Any other KH character will either be a cameo or referenced but for the sake of keeping it minimal, they will not have a gigantic role.
Personas:
Ever since I revealed Neku's Persona, a few of you have rightfully pointed out that the Phantom Thieves motif is about rebellion, and another person, SuperSaiyanFever, has also pointed out Sora's Persona was even less rebellious. That is true.
So what does that mean for the other characters? Well it kinda plays into the role of the team. See with Ren (what I refer to Joker's normal name) and his gang, they are all rebelling against society. Neku's team on the other hand, aren't really rebelling per se. For them, namely Neku, its protecting their way, like Neku's world is still growing and it'll end with him, hence why he fought back. Characters like Beat will somewhat show off how their Personas awaken and work.
And what does that mean for Sora's team?
Well, they are neither rebelling nor protecting their ways of life. They protect something else. Sora's awakening stems from his desire to protect a charm that belongs to the most important person to him, while Riku is to protect those he failed to do so in the past.
Each series team has a different reasoning for awakening their Personas, and that's how I separate them out. Granted they are all part of the PT and will steal hearts, but they also have other roles in the group. Think of Oracle (or Navi in Japan), she doesn't participate in fights directly, she's intel. So for example in battle, Sora is the team's shield and tank while you have somebody like Neku being more of a mage thanks to his Psych.
And finally, TWEWY and KH gang's Personas work much differently compared to Ren's team.
To quote Sojiro: "Let me explain".
Ren: can use up to twelve other Personas, use their strengths and weaknesses. For the most part, each member of his PT can use elemental based attacks along with either physical attacks, buffs and de-buffs.
Neku: only one Persona but Psych powers grant him an vast diversity of abilities. Just as an example, Neku can use ANY pin's power, everything he could do from his game he can do it here with even more freedom.
Sora: only one Persona but the keyblade helps him take form. Think of it as Keyblade Armor, but it works more like Jobs from FF. Sora for example can turn into a Paladin, who sole duty is to protect his commrades while using a different set of abilities.
All this applies to their teammates as well, so we'll flesh them out as time goes on.
In terms of Personas, I will TRY to stick with more rebellious Personas for the other members of Ren and Neku's team. Sora's group however, will consist of summons from the Final Fantasy games.
Confidants
Persona has a huge roster of characters to interact with outside of the Palace targets, and adding the other Thieves into the mix will make this one of the largest roster of characters I'll ever work with. So to make this work out, Ren will not be exclusively bonding with everyone. Instead, each character will be bonding:
For example, Shiki, Kairi and Ann because the former is a fashion designer, Ann's a model and Kairi is dragged into the girl's shenanigans. They bond, grow and develop along with other characters.
Then you'd have Naminé and Yusuke, both artists but where one struggles to capture the hope and despair of the heart, the other is trying to understand more about and what it means to have one. List goes on.
Along with characters bonding and getting to learn and grow with them, I also plan on making the time in between the deadlines of a Palace Heist or when the next one comes around to be used for more bonding with the entire group and let things happen, fun, fluff and some drama. Plus, if requested, I might even add a Palace of my own.
In terms of lengths of the chapters, it all depends on whether you guys like the lengths I have so far or want them longer. Keep in mind please, longer chapters may take me longer to post.
That's pretty much all I have to say on the matter. I will try and get one chapter out this weekend and hopefully it won't be a disaster. Thanks again so much for the patience, reviewing and leaving your thoughts, supporting what I wanna do.
I will be changing the name of this post eventually, it'll serve as a notes post and even somewhere you can all write your thoughts on a idea or maybe what you wanna see next.
Thanks for taking the time to read this everyone, stay awesome but more importantly stay safe!
