Chapter 2- You're not alone

Two weeks had passed since the encounter with Harvey outside her apartment. She was now officially two months pregnant.

The next day after their fight she had shown up to the office and he had pretended as if it was all water under the bridge and got down to business. She did the same then. Although she knew that she had to tell him soon else her body would tell for itself.

She had finally told her parents last weekend and expected their wrath however what she got instead was their concern and pity which she found even worse. She was only knocked up, not some damsel in distress, she had told them. Her mother had insisted on her moving to Manhattan for eight weeks once the baby was born so that she could help Donna. At first Donna had been reluctant however, after reading multiple books about pregnancy and motherhood she had agreed because a part of her knew she needed help.

"Hey!" Louis approached her. Harvey was in court and Donna was typing up the brief he had asked her to do. It was only when Harvey wasn't around that Louis dared approach Donna. Louis worshipped, envied, loved and hated Harvey all at the same time and over the past four years he had wanted to become friends with Donna as well. He found her intriguing and respected her but he was also frightened of her at the same time. "What is it, Louis? I'm busy" Donna replied, without looking up from her computer. "I just came here to ask you if you're doing okay. I saw you rush to the ladies room four times yesterday. It was as if you were about to throw up or something" Louis enquires. "Woah, you're really that free in life that you're keeping tabs on me as well now? But to answer your question, I had a stomach bug yesterday, but now I'm fine" Louis eyed her curiously as if debating whether to say anything further or not. But it was Louis, he had a habit of blabbing at times so he spoke further "it's not just about yesterday Donna, for the past few weeks I've seen you rushing to the ladies room as if you're about to throw up. Are you sick?" "Jesus Christ Louis, don't you have some sucking up to the senior partners to do? Mind your own business" Donna didn't mean to come off this harsh but she was hormonal and no ways did she want Louis Litt to find out first. "Look Donna, I was concerned about you that is why I asked you. You don't have to be so mean about it. I thought we're friends. I don't get it why you're so snappy. Wait unless... morning sickness, snappy behaviour omg are you?" before Louis could put two and two together Donna grabbed his hand and dragged him to the file room. There was no hiding it from this man now; he was going to find out eventually "yes. It's true" Donna clarifies. "I didn't say anything" Louis tried to act sly but Donna gave him her famous 'I'm Donna' look and he just nodded. "Oh my god! Donna! That's huge! Holy shit, Harvey's the father isn't he?" "What, no! I don't cook in my kitchen Louis! Harvey and I are platonic. He is not the father" "okay, I'm sorry but whoever the father is, if he is going to bail out on you I swear to god I will hunt him down and slap the taste out of his mouth..." "You'll do no such thing Louis because he is in France probably and I don't remember his name or anything about him" "Alright Donna, I'm sorry for overreacting. But if you need anything please let me know." "I sure will Louis and also, you're right! We're friends" Louis beamed and legit all his eighty teeth showed. Donna couldn't help but smile herself. This man had grown on her over the years regardless of all this quirks.

The next morning Donna was feeling very sick and had already thrown up twice before 7 am. The doctor had insisted on Donna keeping her working hours reasonable. She did not have the energy to wake up and get ready. She had told herself that she would wake up in fifteen minutes however, she overslept.

It was the constant banging on her door that woke her up. "Shit!" Donna exclaimed once she saw the time. It was 10 am. "I'm coming!"

She shouted from her bedroom. When she opened the door she saw Harvey standing on the other side of the door. It was hard for her to read her expression. "You're supposed to make my life easier. That's why I hired you. What is going on Donna?" He asked and also motioned her to let him inside her apartment. "Look, I'm sorry, I overslept. I wasn't feeling well" Donna tried to reason. "That is an evasive answer Donna and you know it. In four years you've not once been late and now twice in two weeks? And when I ask you what's wrong you flat out lie to me" Harvey sat down on her couch and she followed his suit. "Okay, I'm going to tell you something but I don't want you to pity me" "Donna, you're scaring the crap out of me, what's wrong?" "I'm pregnant, Harvey"
