(A/N: Okay, so we're at Chapter 2 of this fic! I still can't believe I'm writing another chapter story for Mario! Let's start this chapter!)
The following morning, after discussing everything with Mario, Luigi, and Daisy, Peach called up Beanbean Castle and told Queen Bean that she, the Mario Bros., her cousin, Daisy, and Toadsworth were all going to come for a visit.
"Really?! That's great! Our kingdom has been at peace ever since Cackletta's defeat! If you come here, I'm sure you'll have a more pleasant time, since Cackletta, or Bowletta, won't be able to ruin things for you like last time." Queen Bean said upon hearing the news.
"I'll let you know when we're on our way, but that won't be for a few days." Peach said.
"Okay." said Queen Bean.
And of course, Queen Bean let everyone in the castle know right away. Prince Peasley was happy with the news, but when Lady Lima got the news, the first thing she asked was, "Is Toadsworth coming with them?"
"I do believe Princess Peach said he was coming with her group." Queen Bean said.
"Great! I really want to see him again!" said Lady Lima.
A few days later, Peach called Queen Bean to let her know that she, Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Toadsworth were on her plane, ready for take-off.
"We'll meet you at the airport!" Queen Bean promised.
On the way there, Peach was reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to The Beanbean Kingdom.
"Any particular reason why you're reading that book?" Daisy asked.
"To see what I missed out on last time I went there. And from what I've read so far, I missed out on a lot." Peach replied.
"She did." Mario said. In fact, he and Luigi told Daisy what happened last time, but they kept it quiet so they wouldn't disturb Peach.
Several hours later, Peach's plane landed at Beanbean Airport, and sure enough, Queen Bean, Prince Peasley, and Lady Lima were there to greet them.
"I wanted to come back to replace the bad memories with happier ones." Peach explained to them as she got off the plane.
"That will be easy enough. I'm sure you've been told how things have been better since Cackletta's defeat." Prince Peasley said.
"She knows. I told her when she called and told me that she and her friends were coming here." Queen Bean said.
"Okay, then." said Prince Peasley.
Although Queen Bean, Prince Peasley, and Lady Lima offered to let Peach and the others stay at Beanbean Castle, everyone but Toadsworth went to stay at the Little Fungitown Embassy. And, as you might have guessed, Toadsworth was not at all happy with that idea.
"No, Princess! Please reconsider going to Little Fungitown! You'll have to go through that place filled with horrible monsters, and then you'll get captured by those... things again, and..." Toadsworth started, but Lady Lima cut him off, saying, "Actually, the monsters in Teehee Valley and everywhere else have disappeared since Cackletta was defeated. It's safe now."
"Really?" Toadsworth asked.
"Really, really." Lady Lima replied.
"Okay. Never mind. You can go." Toadsworth said.
"If the monsters were still there, we could've warped to Little Fungitown by a pipe, just to be on the safe side." Mario said to Peach.
"I think we'll take the warp pipes when we go sight-seeing." Peach said.
"Sounds good to me." Luigi said.
"I wouldn't mind walking to the different places, like we're doing now." Daisy said as they walked to Teehee Valley.
"If we did that, we would be tired out by the time we reached our destination." Mario said.
"Oh... Good point." Daisy replied.
Sure enough, they didn't see any Gritty Goombas hanging around Teehee Valley.
"Good. I was hoping I wouldn't see any of those... things around here." Peach said.
"What things?" Daisy asked.
"Gritty Goombas. They'd grab Peach, tie her up, and carry her off to their hide-out, where they'd do a stupid dance as they guarded her." Mario said.
"And we had to work fast to rescue her. Who knows what they were planning to do to her!" Luigi said.
"I shudder to think." Peach said.
"I know. I'd never forgive myself if they... did something to you before we showed up." Mario said, giving Peach a hug to help her feel better. Peach gratefully returned the hug.
"Did you kick their sorry butts?" Daisy asked.
"Of course we did! No one kidnaps my girl and gets away with it!" Mario said.
"Good for you!" Daisy said as Peach gave Mario a kiss on the cheek, which made him blush.
They got through Teehee Valley with no problems, and there was no tree-monster hanging around when they got to the Little Fungitown Lift.
The Toads that greeted them were even more surprised than before, 'cause even though they'd heard that Peach and the Mario Bros. were coming, they didn't expect to see that Daisy had come along!
The next few days were a lot of fun for the group as they went sight-seeing. Not only did they take lots of neat pictures and have more fun than they had the last time they were here, the Mario Bros. also met some familiar faces.
When they visited Stardust Fields, Mario and Luigi gave the Starshade Bros. the autographs they said they wanted to obtain.
When they went to Gwarhar Lagoon, not only did they see Hermie III and Spangle, the Marios decided to pay a visit to the Jellyfish Sisters, Gigi and Merri. Since Mario and Luigi didn't get the massages they paid for last time, they hoped that they'd get one now.
"You know, we really can't thank you enough for getting us the Pearl Beans we so badly wanted." Gigi said when she and her sister saw the Mario Bros. waiting for a massage.
"And we're sorry for never finishing the massages you paid for the last time you were here." Merri added.
"We both decided that if you guys came here again, we'd do something nice for you." Gigi said.
"So this time, you get massages for free!" Merri promised.
"How about our girlfriends?" Mario asked.
"You have girlfriends? Where are they?" the sisters asked, intrigued.
"Over there." Luigi said, pointing over by the waiting area, and Peach and Daisy waved.
"Sure thing! We'll massage them for free, too!" Gigi said.
It surprised the sisters when they learned that the girlfriends in question were princesses.
"But you know, these massages aren't free just because you're princesses." Gigi said.
"No?" asked Peach.
"No. We owe your boyfriends for finding the Pearl Beans for us." Merri explained.
"That's cool." said Daisy.
On the day they visited the Castle Town, they went to the Starbeans Café for drinks, and Professor E. Gadd was there. He was happy to see Mario and Luigi, but his happiness turned to surprise when he found out that the lovely young ladies accompanying them were their girlfriends.
"Oh, so you're the young lady Luigi wouldn't shut up about." E. Gadd said when Daisy introduced herself to him.
Luigi's face flushed at that.
"You told him about me?" Daisy asked.
"I may have... mentioned you to him..." Luigi said.
"'Mentioned'? That's an understatement! You talked about her like she was the best thing to happen since 'A Hard Day's Night' came out!" E. Gadd said.
Luigi, who was shaming Mario's hat, said, "Because she is the best thing that ever happened to me."
"Awww, you're so sweet, Luigi!" Daisy exclaimed as she gave Luigi a kiss, which caused Luigi to faint. Then she turned to E. Gadd and said, "Luigi told me how you helped him to rescue Mario, and that you used the treasure he found to build the mansion he deserved."
"He helped me get all of my ghost paintings back. He more than earned that mansion." E. Gadd said.
"Thank you so much for helping to get Mario out of the painting. I still don't know how he got in it, but... I'm just so relieved that he's alright." Peach said, and she hugged Mario tightly as she spoke. Mario didn't protest. He just hugged her back, glad that he was not in a painting, and with the woman he loved more than his own life.
Before long, it was the night before the last day of the trip. Everyone had been having fun so far, but there was still one thing they hadn't done yet, but only the Mario Bros. knew what it was.
In their room that night, Mario and Luigi discussed it before falling asleep.
"Mario, we still haven't been to Joke's End, and tomorrow's our last day here. Are we going to go there or not?" Luigi asked.
"I think we're only going to go there if Peach is okay with it. If she doesn't want to go there, I'm not going to make her, 'cause it's not nice to make a girl do something she isn't comfortable with." Mario said.
"But the only way we can pull it off is if she's willing to go. I hope she doesn't say no." Luigi reminded him.
Tell you what: I'll mention it to her tomorrow morning while we're having breakfast. Then we'll see what she says." Mario said.
So yeah, while Mario and the others are having a great time at the Beanbean Kingdom, they have yet to put their plan from Chapter 1 into play. Perhaps they'll do it in the next chapter? We'll just have to wait and see. Stay tuned!
