(A/N) As usual, it's a very crappy one-shot! If you haven't already, please check out Milkshake and Cookies take on the prompt. Leave a review to vote for who you thought filled the prompt the best. Thanks!
Prompt (created by Milkshake and Cookies): Demigods at comic con. Cosplay can be included
Was it embarrassing? Somewhat. Did they care? Hell no.
They were having a good time. Just the two of them spending some quality time together. It was a shared interest, something to connect over.
But that doesn't explain how Annabeth and managed to get Percy to cosplay as Superman. Then again, it wasn't terrible considering that Annabeth was dressed as Supergirl.
Percy hadn't exactly planned it like this. He figured the D.C Comic Con would be a fun little date, nothing too extravagant. Boy was he wrong.
In hindsight, the green-eyed teen figured he should've kept the date a surprise. But Annabeth was Annabeth, so that might not have gone over well.
It all started the week before the convention. It was a mild summer day, so the couple decided to picnic right by the lake. There were nymphs playing in the water, and they faintly heard the sounds of a sword-fighting class in the distance. Everything was just…peaceful.
"So, Wise Girl." Percy started, somewhat nervously.
"Yeah, Seaweed Brain?"
"Did you hear there's gonna be a D.C Comic Con in Manhattan next weekend?"
"Yes!" She replied excitedly. "I even heard a rumor that Stan Lee is going to do a signing one of the days. Wouldn't it be so cool to meet him? I mean created pretty much the entire D.C. verse!"
Percy smiled at his girlfriend, who was needing out over their favorite fandom.
"How would you like to go?"
"Oh, it'd be amazing! But tickets I'm sure are expensive. Heck, they've probably sold out by now."
The black-haired boy withdrew two slips of paper from his pocket and handed one over to Annabeth.
"Don't worry, I already got us tickets. They're for next Saturday."
The grey-eyed girl's smile widened even more. "Percy, these must've cost a fortune. Are sure you don't wanna take your mom or someone else?"
Percy waved away Annabeth's concern. "I got them for us. I wanted us to have a semi-normal date that didn't involve training or fighting monsters.
The child of Athena leaned over and hugged her boyfriend. "Thank you so much, Perce."
"Anything for you, Wise Girl."
Annabeth laughed. "Hey, Seaweed Brain."
Percy hummed in question, turning his head only to see a wide smirk on his girlfriend's face.
"You know what this means? We have to get costumes now.
Percy groaned half-heartedly at the female's suggestion, to which she snickered.
"There's no getting out of it now, Jackson."
"Hold still." Annabeth scolded, biting her tongue in concentration. Right now she was applying Percy's makeup, which consisted of a light foundation and a heck of a lot of contouring.
"I still don't see the point of the makeup." Percy grumbled.
"Trust me, I usually hate wearing this stuff, too. Today, it's just for the experience."
"Where'd you even get these costumes from?"
The blonde smiled mischievously. "Never question a child of Athena. That's the number one rule here, Seaweed Brain.
"Ignoring that rule, how'd you decide who we were going as?"
"Well, it's kinda obvious for you. Tall, muscular build, dark hair. Why wouldn't you go as Superman? I, on the other hand, chose Supergirl because I don't want to go as Lois Lane and have to wear a wig."
After a few minutes, Annabeth was done fixing Percy's makeup and was now using large amounts of gel to try and control the shaggy mop he called hair.
"How do you even deal with this mess?"
"I don't."
"Percy!"
The green-eyed teen laughed at his girlfriend. "C'mon, Wise Girl, you know you love it."
The blonde simply blushed in response. "No comment, Seaweed Brain."
Once she was finally done, Percy stood and looked at himself in the mirror.
"It looks great, Annabeth! Thank you."
"Thank you, Percy. You're the one who got us tickets."
"Speaking of that, we should head out soon if we want to beat the long lines. I've already talked to Argus and he said he'd allow us to call a cab about half a mile from the camp."
It was the most fun they'd had in a long time, especially with the war just ending.
Once they'd gotten into the convention, they walked from booth to booth, spending more time at some than they did others. Both had snuck in a couple action figures and comic books, just in case a possibility arose to get them signed.
Which, in fact, did happen. In the corner of one of the main rooms, a small table had been set up. Behind it sat two actors from the most recent movie. They weren't exactly the stars of the film, but hey, they're better than nothing.
They spent the day wandering around, enjoying other fans' costumes, but most importantly, each other's presence.
Once the convention began to end and the crowds started thinning, Percy and Annabeth left to head back to camp. The son of Poseidon treated his girlfriend to ice cream on the way home. A nice ending to a perfect date.
(A/N) Did I stray from my original idea for the prompt? Hell yeah. Did I just want an excuse to write Percabeth? Maybe. Am I trash at writing romance? Most definitely.
