A male with Silver flowing hair in a black suit steps out of a limo. He stops and looks up with his golden honey orbs at the grand building his family worked so hard to achieve to keep its high status. He lets out a breath of accomplishment and begins to walk into the building, running behind is Jaken his faithful ward since feudal times. He is now his loyal assistant and deals with everything Sesshomaru does not, which is pretty much everything.
He yells out, "milord, we have so much on the schedule, we have to choose the new interns, as it is apart of what keeps this business afloat".
Sesshomaru glares at Jaken and replies, "I Sesshomaru is what keeps this company afloat, we just have the program so we can keep the peace as father says, This Sesshomaru does not mind killing them all off, they are nothing but a waste of breath, they learned everything from us and turn around and act as if they came up with it, I despise them. If it wasn't for the money, they would have been disposed of already". Jaken sighed not expecting more from his lord as he knew he has always been this way.
Entering the building, Sesshomaru is greeted by his staff, but he ignores them all and walks to the elevator to the top floor to his office. Swiping the badge to his office, he feels he can whine down a little before the work day, he reaches over and grabs the decanter and pours a shot of whiskey to start his day.
A deep voice comes from the corner of the room, "It's a bit early to be doing that Sesshomaru".
Sesshomaru looks over, "Father, what are you doing in my personal space".
Twin golden orbs look at Sesshomaru and smiles, "You have been avoiding looking over the qualified candidates for the internship, Son. What is the problem?"
Sesshomaru responds, "Father, I do not care to look through… to figure out…. whatever, that is why Jaken is here, he takes care of all of that".
"Well, my Son unfortunately it is about that time for me to run as Governor for Tokyo and this will help with re-electing me and to stay in good graces with the humans, they help my vote a lot".
Sesshomaru responds, "It is because you married filth, a filthy human. I can understand working with them for business but to marry one, it is disgraceful and embarrassing to our kind".
His father says, "I am still your father and your Alpha. watch your tone boy". Sesshomaru submitted but he still did not like saying what he felt and being dismissed because of it.
"What is it that I have to do father".
His father, "My son, all you have to do is do the selection yourself, do not look at them as humans, look at what they have accomplished, their grades, their work ethics and if they will make a good fit within the company".
"Is that all father?" Sesshomaru says. "Yes". His father concluded.
"Well then may I have my time so I can start my day". His father nodded and informed him that Jaken will be in with the deets.
Sesshomaru turned and looked at Tokyo City from his window, he was proud where he was in life but deep down Sesshomaru was searching for something, he felt it was within his grasp but never can grab it. Within his thoughts there was knock at the door and from the scent, Sesshomaru knew it was Jaken.
"Come in you Idiot". Jaken enters slowly and gets hit with the glass Sesshomaru drunk from, instantly a knot grows on Jaken's head.
"Make sure you replace that glass" Sesshomaru says.
Jaken replies, "I am sorry milord, I am always loyal to you but your father is very intimidating and I know this is best for the company and since I am your advisor as well, I believe this to be true".
Sesshomaru irritated responds, "Jaken, you could have informed me earlier he was in my office instead of me being bombarded, Show me the files, you fool".
Jaken runs to Sesshomaru's desk and pulls up the files of each of the candidates. "How many usually are a part of the program?" He asks Jaken.
"Milord, you chose 4 candidates, I know you are looking at them physically, but their abilities and their recommendation letter helps in the decision".
Sesshomaru responds, "Very well, get out!, I will not be taking any calls for I will be consumed in BS". Sesshomaru thinks to himself, this will be a long day. Sesshomaru takes a breath and carefully looks through candidates, most he skip through, no,no,no,no they all bore me!
He got down to three candidates, he just needed one more. In the last file was Rin Hagawari, her picture was her smiling with a peace sign up and Sesshomaru thought that was strange, he looked through her file and saw that she was an overachiever and was apart of many clubs and organizations and had exceptional recommendation letters from more than one professor.
"Hmph!, This girl must really want this, she interests me, she will be an experiment to toy with, see you soon Ms perfection"! and with that he closes out the files and sent an email to his father of the candidates. His father responded back to let him know that he must inform them today.
Sesshomaru sent out emails to each candidate and that he expects them to arrive next Monday promptly at 8am sharp, not a minute after, he informed he is busy and his time will not be wasted, he attached the schedule and all of what is expected of their duties.
He sat back in his chair annoyed at this pointless activity he has to do, I guess this will help keep father elected, whatever is good for company!, at least I have a good week before I deal with this bull, he thought to himself.
Authors Note: If you were in the middle of reading chapter 2, I saw that Fanfic posted it with a lot of codes and I had to delete it and hopefully it works this time!
