I visit the town hall; the mayor is in his office. "The bat girl told me you were coming," he says. It surprises me for a moment. I hide my surprise as fast as I could. "Yes, Rouge," I reply just as I offer him a handshake.
He gives me a description of his issue, he needs to develop the lands, there are rare pink stones to mine. "Many jobs," he tells me. Honestly, I want the people less poor.
We spend some time traveling through the forest area. There are a lot of protesters, and the mayor goes to promise them how no tree will be brought down.
When we leave the area, I propose to him the plan with the bacteria. The mayor is not convinced; he wants a faster way. He even says that I have competition with a second company interested in the license. I promise to contact soon with a better idea. He tells me, that the first party with a plan of a week or less of time required, gets the license.
Not knowing any better, I call doctor Robotnik, from a disposable phone, looking for help.
"Doctor, I need a favor, I need a way to make trees look sick in a faster way than throwing bacteria at them."
The doctor answer, "Spread the fungi in the roots to hide a direct damage to the roots with my robots."
"What am I supposed to do?" I ask.
"I can supply you with mechanical robots to do the trick, they are about the size of a worm," he answers.
"Thank you, doctor; where can I receive them?"
"I will send you the coordinates, wait for them around 3 to 4 days," he sets up the date.
I accept and go to the location 3 days later. The travelling is long, thus it cost me time to reach it, and sadly it will take me more time as there is nothing yet. I make the whole trip a day later and this time, there are the mini robots.
I go back to the mayor, this time I give him a live demo. I leave him with a new meeting scheduled to the day after tomorrow.
The next day, one day before the meeting, he calls me to tell me the worm has work. I get the license in the name of, well the Sun Company.
I go to the forest and with Chaos Control, I can skip the protesters. Once inside the forest, I set the robots loose. Just days later, and the mayor call a press conference to say the trees are dying and that he will have to cut them down or else they would be lost for nothing.
Blaze's group starts to deforest happily, my mission is complete. Something curious is that she sent robots to deforest, I wonder why.
To kill the time, I decided to volunteer in a soup kitchen, where they have a TV showing the news; besides the expected backlash from the environmentalists nothing of interest has happened. The days go on, until the news presents that Sonic have come to town.
