Zelda rose from her desk, rubbing her aching back with both hands. Her long hair pulled back into a low ponytail. Her bangs braided ordinarily tight to keep her mind off the swelling of her belly. Nine months. She could not last another day. Luckily, she had Link by her side. She called out to him as the contractions tore through her. She laid down to alleviate the pain. She raised her legs to push.

Her green clad hero arrived at her bedside. He held her hand, rubbing her swollen stomach as the brunette panted and groaned.

"The baby's coming!"

"Shh Zelda. Hold my hand."

"No, I won't shh. It hurts!"

"Don't push yet. You can do it Zelda."

Zelda inhaled sharply as Link gently helped her sit up and slip out of her dress. His fingers gliding over the sensitive parts of her skin. Caressing her breasts, hips and thighs with surprisingly soft hands. Soothing her aching flesh with a trail of kisses.

"Breathe gently. He murmured, helping her to lay on her back as the baby started to kick again.

Zelda cried out.

"Link!"

"I'm here, Zelda."

"I know that." The brunette sobbed, rolling onto her side with her head in his lap. Link massaged her lower back. "It hurts. Get it out of me!"

"I know. I know. Breathe with me. In and…out. In…and out. In and…out." He grimaced as she dug her nails into his arm. "Ow!"

"I don't want to do this anymore. It's all your fault! I don't want it anymore. Take it back!" She shrieked.

Link had been convinced that it was an April Fool's joke nine months ago when Zelda told him that she was pregnant with his child. Now he was going to be a father. In a matter of mere hours. He cradled Zelda's head in his lap, stroking her back while she tossed and turned; trying to get comfortable for the birth. The brunette had never done anything like this before. She was terrified.

Laying on her back, Link cupped her breasts, massaging them while she spread her legs as wide as she could. Gritting her teeth as the baby crowned. With a few more grunts, the baby was in her arms. Swaddled in a green blanket. He looked like his father. Even though she was exhausted, Zelda smiled.

"What should we name him?" Link asked.

"I want to name him after his father."

Link blinked.

"How about Toon Link?" Zelda suggested.

"I like that name."

The baby stopped crying.

"I think he likes it too."

"Can you hold him please? I'm tired."

Link stooped over, kissing his princess on the forehead. He cradled their child with a living smile.

"Rest Zelda. Your job is done. I'll look after our son for a couple of hours. Isn't that right Toon Link?"

The baby laughed. Our happy family. Zelda smiled, her eyes fluttering closed. She felt contented. Waves of sleep rolled over her. Carrying her away while Link watched over her and their baby. Her royal duty was done. Her legacy could continue. She was a mother at last.
