Voltron: Legendary Defender of Heart, Body, and Mind
By Tayla Drago
Episode #1- Rise of Voltron
The story starts off where someone was hiding in the deserts to fight off against someone chasing after this person. Hiding in the shadows to be after...whoever it was to fighting back with every great skills...somehow to be more than any regular human being, far from it to be searching for something – and escaping from a certain someone while this person was once a prison with a collar to still be wrapped around the neck.
"I have no time for this...!"
Whoever this person was, it sounded like a woman of a teenager who knows everything from the sound of it who was also smart. Overwhelmed but ready for action, five aspiring space explorers learn they have the power to create Voltron, the most powerful robot in the universe. On the distant Kerberos, one of Pluto's moons, Shiro, Matthew Holt, and Samuel Holt are Galaxy Garrison explorers on an expedition from Earth to collect ice samples from the moon's surface in order to study them for clues about life elsewhere in the universe. They are the first humans to have traveled so far. Suddenly, they feel a rumbling, and to their surprise, a gigantic alien warship from the Galra Empire appears. The three try to run but are captured in a beam of light. Shiro awakens inside the alien ship where an unnamed Galra Commander is speaking with a mysterious entity about how his prisoners have no useful information. The mysterious entity orders them to be taken to the Druids at the main fleet.
"Emperor Zarkon, we were scouting system X-9-Y as ordered when we found these primitive scientists, but no sign of our prisoner yet." Galra said. "I don't think they know anything useful."
Is the mysterious person the one they were looking for?
"Take them back to the main fleet for interrogation. The Druids will find out what they know."
By Zarkon's demand, they go do so.
"Please, we come from a peaceful planet! W-We mean you no harm! We're unarmed!"
With his crew mates unresponsive, Shiro tries to reason with the aliens, claiming to be from a peaceful planet, but is knocked unconscious by one of their robotic Sentries. He awakens again to the murmur of voices commenting on his capture as he is being dragged along a corridor by a Sentry, and looks terrified out a window that reveals the vast expanse of the alien craft he is on.
"Quickly, we must find Crystal Stars."
Shiro heard the name loud and clear before passing out.
"Crystal Stars...!" he then passes out.
A year later, Lance, Hunk, and Pidge are unsteadily flying to Kerberos to rescue a downed space vessel in a simulation flight at the Galaxy Garrison. Hunk complains about motion sickness and Lance's terrible piloting, while Pidge monitors their status. The three argue continuously as they struggle to perform their mission, with Hunk vomiting in the engine's main gear box and Pidge colliding with the floor. Lance tries to fly through a rocky overhang but loses a wing on his spacecraft, resulting in a crash and ending the simulation in failure. Iverson berates the three in front of their classmates for being a terrible team and claims errors like theirs were what caused the Kerberos Mission a year earlier to crash. Pidge yells that what he speaks is not true, but before Iverson can reply, Lance covers Pidge's mouth and claims that Pidge is still suffering from the earlier head injury. Iverson reminds Lance that he only gained fighter class because the best pilot of his class was expelled for a "discipline issue", and warns him not follow in those footsteps. Later that night, Lance and Hunk sneak out of the barracks after curfew to grab Pidge and head out for some fun to bond as a team. However, Pidge is already leaving for the roof of the Garrison facility. Lance and Hunk follow out of curiosity. After they catch Pidge listening to some radio signals with advance self-made equipment and Lance presses for information under the belief that teams should have no secrets among them, Pidge explains that the equipment is picking up radio chatter of alien origin, and chatter much more fervent than heard on previous nights; the aliens keep mentioning the word "Voltron".
"Oh, Lance, Hunk. No, um, just looking at stars."
With this kid making something to detect too on his own.
"Hey where'd you get this stuff?" Lance asked Pidge. "It doesn't look like Garrison tech."
Oh, explaining time...
"I built it." he answers back. "The world as you know it is about to change. The Kerberos Mission wasn't lost because of some malfunction or crew mistake—"
Pidge sees Hunk trying to touch the equipment.
"—STOP TOUCHING MY EQUIPMENT!"
He stops to only had Hunk groaning but finally desists.
"Sorry..." he said.
"... So I've been scanning the system and picking up alien radio chatter."
Was he now...Only for Lance and Hunk to think Pidge was crazy.
"Whoa, what? Aliens?!"
"OK, so you're insane. Got it." said Lance.
But really, Pidge wasn't crazy at all.
"I'm serious! They keep repeating one word: 'Voltron'. And tonight, it's going crazier than I have ever heard it."
"How crazy?" Lance asked again.
Though the two other cadets are in disbelief, the alarms of the Galaxy Garrison suddenly blare, and a fiery object, not of Garrison technology, appears in the sky before crashing into the ground nearby.
"Attention, students. This is not a drill. We are on lockdown! Security situation Zulu Niner. Repeat: All students are to remain in barracks until further notice." said Iverson on speaker.
The three cadets set out to examine the crash site as the Galaxy Garrison locks the site down.
"What's going on? Is that a meteor?!" Hunk the sees something. "... A very, very big... meteor?"
But Pidge grabs binoculars to see what it really was.
"It's a ship!"
And then Lance takes Pidge's binoculars and looks at the object.
"Holy crow!" he was shocked. "I can't believe what I'm seeing! That's not one of ours!"
"No." Pidge takes another look again. "It's one of theirs."
"So wait, there really are aliens out there?!" Hunk questions about this.
The three watch as the alien spacecraft crashes into the desert. The Garrison sends out land rovers to the crash site.
"We've gotta see that ship!" Pidge takes off.
Soon, Lance and Hunk follow him.
"Hunk, come on!"
"Oh, this is the worst team-building exercise ever."
Pidge picks up a video feed from inside using advanced equipment, and the feed reveals Shiro to be the one inside the crashed craft. He is frantically claiming aliens are on their way. However, his appearance is different than before: white forelocks, a scar across his nose, and an unusual prosthetic arm. The Garrison technicians, Iverson among them, knock Shiro out with drugs so they can examine him.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Shiro demanded to know.
"Calm down, Shiro." Iverson said back. "We just need to keep you quarantined until we run some tests on you."
"You have to listen to me! They destroyed worlds! Aliens are coming! Crystal Stars must be found and rescued!"
Again with the girl name Crystal Stars. Does Shiro know about her? Since Lance, Pidge, and Hunk heard about Shiro, for him to be in a bigger mess like this one wasn't good at all. Even with Shiro getting a mechanical arm, they had to study on him, not good at all.
"Sir, take a look at this." a technician man shows Iverson something. "It appears his arm has been replaced with a cyborg prosthetic."
"Put him under until we know what that thing can do."
And so, by Iverson's demands...they do it for Shiro to go back to sleep to be studied upon.
"Don't, don't be me under! No! No, there's no time! Let me go!" Shiro goes to sleep.
Lance immediately recognizes who Shiro is and wants to rescue him, but the three cannot figure out how to get past the guards. There is a sudden set of explosions nearby. Although unaware of just who it is, Pidge spots the cause: Keith arriving by hovercraft, having set off explosives to draw the guards away so he can sneak in. Lance is immediately enraged, as he recognizes Keith by his mullet.
"No way...! Oh, he is not going to be us in there! That guy is always trying to one-up me!"
Someone didn't like a certain someone at all from the sound of it.
"Who is it?" Hunk asks Lance.
"Keith!" he answered.
"Who?" Pidge was left confused.
"Are you sure?" Hunk knew who Keith was already to follow him.
"Oh, I'd recognize that mullet anywhere!"
Lance and Hunk take off, for Pidge to follow the other two to not know who Keith was.
"Who's Keith?!"
Keith enters in the room to attack and knocks out all three technicians, then runs to Shiro, surprised to find him.
"Shiro...?" Kieth then cuts Shiro free from his bonds and tries to carry him out.
And that's when Lance, Hunk, and Pidge arrived.
"Nope. No you—No, no, no, no, no, no, no you don't. I'm saving Shiro." Lance lifts SHIRO over his shoulder.
Looks like Keith never seen Lance before, but he has with this guy.
"Who are you?"
"Who am I? Uh, the name's Lance." but Keith silently looks at Lance without recognition. "... We were at the same class at the Garrison?"
Really? Are you an engineer?" Keith was still confused.
"No, I'm a pilot. We were, like, rivals. You know, Lance and Keith, neck-and-neck." said Lance to explaining everything.
"Oh wait, I remember you. You're a cargo pilot."
And now Keith remembers who Lance is.
"Well, not anymore. I'm fighter class now thanks to you washing out." said Lance.
"Well, congratulations." said Keith.
For Lance and Keith carry Shiro out together. That's when Hunk spots the Garrison returning.
"Oh, man, they're coming back and they do not look happy." Hunk tells them. "We gotta go. Uh, do you mind if we catch a ride with you?"
Everyone climbs aboard Keith's hovercraft and it tips over.
"Is this thing going to be big enough for all of us?" Pidge asks Keith.
"No."
Hunk and Pidge follow Lance as he rushes after Keith, refusing to be "one-upped" by him as Lance claims happened so many times before. Keith attacks and subdues the three technicians still at the crash site with martial arts. He's surprised to unexpectedly find the unconscious Shiro inside. As he cuts Shiro from his bonds with a dagger wrapped in cloth and tries to carry him to safety, Lance intervenes and declares that he will be saving Shiro instead. Keith questions who Lance is, and Lance tries to remind him of their purported rivalry with minor success. Keith only disdainfully recalls Lance as being a cargo pilot, and congratulates him sarcastically when he learns Lance became fighter class after Keith was expelled. The two carry Shiro outside to Keith's hovercraft as the guards start to return. Hunk climbs on board with Pidge and the rest of group, and causes the craft to tilt over. With the Garrison guards in pursuit, Keith has no choice but to fly the overcrowded vessel at full speed, using Hunk's weight to control where it turns.
"What are you doing?! You're going to kill us all!" Lance panics.
"Shut up and trust me!" he manages to cause some Garrison vehicles to crash and launches his hovercraft off a cliff, safely lands it, and flies the new ragtag team into the desert to escape.
Seeing from afar of the same person to be hiding, it shows her eyes hiding under the hood, for it was a girl. It could be Crystal Stars herself Shiro mentioned. And speaking of Shiro, she knew one of the boys.
"Shiro...?" she was surprised.
The next morning, Shiro stands outside of an old house in the desert examining his prosthetic arm.
"It's good to have you back." Keith said to Shiro.
And he says something back to him, seeing that they're good friends.
"Heh. It's good to be back."
Keith approaches him, asking where he has been. Shiro tells him that he cannot recall, and asks how Keith knew to search the crash site.
"So what happened out there? Where...were you?"
"I wish I could tell you. My head's still pretty scrambled. I was on an...alien ship but... somehow I escaped. It's all a blur." he tries to remember. "Something about Crystal Stars they were after...and that's it. Still...How did you know to come save me when I crashed?"
I guess there was a lot explaining to be told.
"You should come see this." Keith walks Shiro inside the hut.
Keith brings him inside and shows everyone his map of the area with several notes and lines drawn on it. Keith explains that after he was expelled from the Galaxy Garrison, he felt lost and was drawn out to the desert by some kind of strange energy that drove him to search for something. He discovered several caves with carvings about a blue lion, and ones that indicated some event would be happening the previous night.
"What have you been working on?" Shiro asked.
Lots of paper work, Keith explains everything. Or tries to...
"I can't explain it, really. After getting booted from the Garrison, I was kinda...lost and...felt myself drawn out to this place. It's like something...some energy, was telling me to search."
Seeing one of the photos had a woman walking by the caves. Shiro might know of this person...?
"(It can't be...!) For what?"
"Well, I didn't really know at the time...until I stumbled across this area. It's an outcropping of giant boulders with caves covered in these ancient markings. Each tells a slightly different story about a blue lion, but they all share clues leading to some event, some arrival happening last night. Then you showed up." Keith said ti all.
Inexplicably, that happened to be Shiro's return to Earth. Shiro introduces himself to Lance, Hunk, and Pidge. Lance is hesitant to shake Shiro's alien prosthetic, but does so.
"... I should...thank you all for getting me out. Lance, right?" Shiro offers Lance his prosthetic hand.
For Lance at first hesitates but shakes it. Shiro then offers to shake Pidge and Hunk's hand. Pidge is the only one who does.
"The nervous guy's Hunk. I'm Pidge." he introduces himself to Shiro first. "So, did anyone else from your crew make it out?"
When questioned about the fate of his crew or if the aliens are nearby and ready to attack, Shiro still cannot recall anything other than the word "Voltron" and thinks it is a weapon the aliens are looking for.
"I'm not sure. Shiro answered. "I remember the mission and being captured. After that, it's just bits and pieces."
"Yeah, sorry to interrupt, but back to the aliens." Hunk said. "Where are they now? Are they coming? Are they coming for all of us? Like where are they at this very moment?"
"I can't really put it together. I-I remember the word 'Voltron'. It's some kind of weapon they're looking for by someone I know of name Crystal Stars, but I don't know why. Whatever it is, I think we need to find it before they do."
Again with the name Crystal, huh? Hunk then reveals he went through Pidge's backpack and found a picture of Pidge and "his girlfriend"; next he reveals he read Pidge's diary, but his point is that he analyzed the repeating series of numbers the aliens were searching for: a Fraunhofer Line, a number describing the emission spectrum of an element, one that does not exist on Earth.
"WHAT?!" Pidge freaks out. "Please don't do that again, Hunk...!"
"I noticed that the repeating series of numbers the aliens are searching for looks a lot like a fraunhofer line."
Keith was a bit lost there.
"Frown...who?"
"It's a number describing the emission spectrum of an element, only this element doesn't exist on Earth. I thought it might be this Voltron, and I think I can build a machine to look for it, kinda like a Voltron Geiger Counter."
Hunk claims he can build a Geiger Counter to search for it. Seeing Hunk's graph of the line's wavelength, Keith recognizes it as matching a formation of rocks he has investigated before. And he was right.
"Hunk, you big, gassy genius!" Lance was happy.
"It's pretty fascinating, really." Hunk said. "Th-The wavelength looks like this."
Seeing the map and paper of work of it...
"Give me that." Keith takes it and matches the wavelength's appearance to an array of boulders he has seen and has a photo of. "Got it."
The group heads into the desert to the location and Hunk's Geiger counter picks up a signal, leading them to a cave filled with lion carvings. Seeing this and then...someone else was there too, turning around to hear something, it was Crystal Stars. 'See on what she looks like from the last chapter details'. Seeing the other five boys to have her staff out to defend herself. Scared, alone, strong, and she was running away from something as a slave still.
"Crystal?" surprised Shiro.
"Crystal Stars?!" shock Lance and Hunk.
"Aliens are looking for a girl?" questioned Pidge.
"Crystal Stars...?" Keith stares at her to look surprise himself the most.
Soon, she comes charging at the guys to move away thinking they were another group of her enemies.
"No!" she was fast and strong. "Get away from me!"
Trying not to get a beat down by a girl, Lance tries talking to Crystal calmly to be a lady's man sometimes...just not all good.
"Hey, babe! Relax! We come in peace!"
And that didn't work either to duck for a huge boulder gets crushed and not Lance's face.
"I said...get away from me!"
"Crystal, stop!" Shiro restrains Crystal from behind. "It's me, Shiro!"
Calming down to see Shiro again and the guys were all human, she drops her weapon. Feeling bad on what she almost did, Crystal knew she was only defending herself.
"Shiro...?" she was surprised. "You're okay! Hi! But your arm..."
"It's nothing." it doesn't bother him. "I was more worried about you. The last time we met was..."
Soon to feel weak for Shiro to catch Crystal to feel weak, she was stabbed somewhere to not be fatal, but unable to move a lot.
"Hey, you're hurt." Keith tries helping her out.
"Stop...! I'm fine!"
"Crystal, Keith's a good guy. The others are too. We were brought here for a reason of a Blue Lion to be Voltron." Shiro explains. "Look, we'll explain later. Let us treat you first."
Letting her guard down, Crystal trusts in Shiro to get patch up quickly.
"Sorry." Keith said.
"No, it's fine." Crystal said back to him."
"And without getting killed, thanks a lot Keith." Lance then introduces himself. "I'm Lance. Hi. These two are Pidge, Hunk, and the show off Keith."
Ha! Like he didn't care for Lance to act like this.
"Lance. Hunk. Pidge. Keith. Got it. My name is Crystal Stars, nice to meet you guys." Crystal said their names. "Sorry about that, I was only defending myself from Zarkon and his men to come after me for some reason...I got hurt, I had to lay low, and I too was brought to the caves for the strange lion. I guess...I'm known as a researcher on life on other galaxies for nothing."
"She's one of the best of the best." Shiro explain to be surprise on what happened to Crystal. "Wait...Zarkon captured you? But why?"
Like with Shiro to have trouble remembering, same with Crystal for some reason to not know about it either.
"Beats me, Shiro. You did teach a lot before taking off to space yourself. And if you know of Zarkon's name, then you saw him to. Am I right?"
"That's about it. Sorry."
So those two are having trouble a lot.
"Shiro taught a girl lots of things, she's like me..." said Pidge.
"And she's kind of cute too." said Hunk.
"Hey! I saw her first!"
Hunk and Lane argued for Keith to step in.
"Come on, you two. Crystal's hurt. Let's give her some room."
"Who made you the boss?!" the two boys questioned Keith there.
"Hey, weren't we looking for some blue lion thing?" Crystal speaks up. "We're all here so we might as well see what's in this cave. Let's go."
Having Shiro to have Crystal leading on his shoulders to recover, the six continue to look around the craving caves of lion and mysteries all over.
"What are these?" ask Shiro.
"They're everywhere." surprised Crystal.
"These are the lion carvings I was telling you about. They're everywhere around here." said Keith.
Soon, Lance approaches a carving and touches it, causing all of theme to light up, surprising everyone.
"Whoa...Whoa!"
"Lance, what did you do?" Crystal questions Lance.
"I didn't mean to!" he panics.
Either way, this was news to Keith as well.
"Heh, they've never done that before."
Lance touches one and all the carvings light up in blue, and the floor beneath them also glows before giving way, sending them all falling into a water-filled cavern.
"Anyone not dead?" ask Crystal.
At the bottom, they stand in awe before the massive Blue Lion sitting within a glowing blue force field.
"They are everywhere." surprised Lance to look all over.
"Is this it? Is this the Voltron?" Pidge asked.
"It...must be." said Shiro.
"No, it has to be." Crystal corrects Shiro.
"This is what's been causing all this crazy energy out here." Keith has a look around it. ""Looks like there's a force field around it."
Keith wonders how they can get past it; Lance suggests knocking and lightly taps the force field.
"Does anyone else get the feeling this is staring at them?" questioned Lance.
Maybe it was a trick cave, or something far from it.
"Hmm...No." answer Shiro.
Somehow, both Lance and Crystal can tell something was up.
"Yeah. The eyes are totally following me."
The tactic works as it disappears, and the team sees a vision of Voltron combined, revealing the Blue Lion is only a single part of what the aliens are searching for.
"I wonder how we get through this." questioned Keith.
"Maybe you just have to knock." Lance literally knocks on the force field and it reacts, dissipating and igniting the area around them in blue. The team sees an image of Voltron forming from the five Lions in their minds.
Seeing an image of more than this lion, but four more. With all five combined to create the powerful Voltron.
"I think...I saw an image of other lions turning into, a giant robot." Crystal felt it all. "(I call feel it out more, and the others saw everythin. Strange..."
Having Crystal's body glowing a little, and then goes away for the other saw it all too. But Crystal was a little special than the others.
"Uh, did everyone just see that?" ask Lance.
"I know I did. I just told you guys already!"
It was good and Crystal had a good point.
"Voltron is a robot! Voltron is a huge, huge, awesome robot!" Hunk said freaking out.
"And this thing is only one part of it!" same with Pidge. "I wonder where the rest of them are."
"This is what they're looking for." Shiro said. "But still unknown with you, Crystal."
"I wish I knew about it too, Shiro, believe me."
More like...it was still hard to believe on what they were all looking at right now, the real deal.
"Incredible." said Keith.
The Blue Lion begins to move on its own, lowering its head and opening access to its cockpit. Lance readily jumps inside and the rest soon follow him. The Lion's console activates and Lance feels the Blue Lion speaking to him in his mind, instructing him on what to do.
"Here we go."
"OK guys, I-I feel the need to point out, just so that we're all, y'know, aware: We are in some kind of futuristic alien cat head right now." said Hunk.
"Ah, Hunk, we know." Crystal said back.
Just then...Lance senses the Blue Lion communicating with him. And somehow, Crystal felt the same thing too.
"Whoa, did you guys just hear that?"
"Hear what?" Keith and the other didn't.
"I heard it." Crystal said. "I don't know why you guys can't. Weird."
"Yeah! What you said, Crystal. I-I think it's talking to me. Hmm...Um..." Lance presses a few buttons; the Blue Lion stands up and roars. "OK. Got it. Now let's try this."
He presses a few buttons and the Lion stands up; Lance blasts the Lion directly out of the cavern and takes off into the sky, doing rolls and somersaults in the air. His crew mates scream; Keith comically loses his calm composure and declares that Lance is the "THE WORST. PILOT. EVER."
"YOU ARE. THE WORST. PILOT. EVER." said Keith.
"No kidding!" same with Crystal.
At the Galaxy Garrison, Iverson and a Garrison soldier witness the Blue Lion flying, unable to understand what it is.
"Isn't this awesome?!" Lance loves it.
Just not with everyone else.
"Slow down, stupid!" Crystal complained.
"Make it stop! Make it stop!" Hunk wanted Lance to stop, but he couldn't
"I'm not making it do anything. It's like it's on autopilot!"
See? He's right. The Blue Lion leaves Earth's atmosphere to meet the aliens arriving, notifying Lance.
"Where are you going?!" Keith questions Lance.
"I just said it's on autopilot! It says there's an alien ship approaching Earth. I think we're supposed to stop it."
I think he maybe on to something here.
"Is it like a smart robot to know of the danger?" Crystal explains it carefully by touching it with her hands. "Huh? Wow, it's like I can read its mind..."
"I thought you were a cute researcher of space life."
"Lance, I can also understand life on this thing if it understands you." Crystal said back to Lance. "I don't know why."
Then Pidge asks Lance this next question.
"What did it say, exactly?!"
"Well, it's not like it's saying words, more like feeding ideas into my brain. Kind of." he answered back.
Hunk suggest they simply give the Lion to the aliens, but Shiro describes how evil and destructive the entire alien force is, so Hunk dismisses the idea.
"Well, if this thing is the weapon they're coming for, why don't we just, like—I don't know, give it to them? Maybe they'll leave us alone. Sorry, Lion, nothing personal."
Bad idea there, Hunk. Even both Shiro and Crystal say so too.
"No thank you!"
"Crystal's right." Shiro said too. "You don't understand. These monsters spread like a plague throughout the galaxy, destroying everything in their path. There's no bargaining with them. They won't stop until everything is dead."
Everyone stares at HUNK.
"... Oh. Never mind then." he gets it now.
The team is amazed at the massive Galra Empire warship that appears.
"Zarkon!" angered Crystal to remember the space ship.
"Uh...Holy crow!" Hunk freaks out. "Is that really an alien ship?!"
For Crystal to know already, same with Shiro too.
"They found me..."
The Galra Commander of the warship is the one who captured Shiro a year earlier. The ship opens fire and Lance frantically dodges the attacks, striking the ship with his Lion's mouth cannon and claws before taking off to draw the ship away from Earth.
"We've got to get it out of here!" Pidge panics.
"Hang on!" Lance pilots to dodge the onslaught of laser guns.
"Just do anything to get us out of here! I don't want to go back there!"
Point taken, Crystal. For Lance does just that to be the only one piloting the blue lion.
"Ah! All right! OK, I think I know what to do!" said Lance. "I'll rescue you, Crystal!"
"Oh boy, my hero..." Crystal was a bit worried there for Lance on how he was piloting.
Heck, even Pidge says the same thing too.
"Be careful, man! This isn't a simulator!"
"Well, that's good. I always wreck the simulator." then Lance uses the Blue Lion's mouth cannon to blast the length of the warship. "Let's try this."
He uses the Blue Lion's claws to tear into the warship's side. Somehow, with Crystal touching the lion too on the inside gave him the boost. Really?
"It worked?" she sees that it did. "It worked!"
"Nice job, Lance!" said Shiro.
"OK, I think it's time to get these guys away from our planet."
Good idea. I think Crystal was more than human without knowing what she was doing to aid Lance and the blue lion there. The Galra Commander informs Zarkon of the Blue Lion's status, and Zarkon orders him to focus only on capturing the Lion and Crystal Stars to detect her location 'from the collar around her neck' and nothing else.
"Lord Zarkon, the escaped prisoner and his people found the Lion." Galra reports. "It attacked us and is heading out of the system. And we might've located the escape human weapon you were also looking for."
Right there, the evil Zarkon knew what Galra meant.
"I'm surprised, she's alive. Good." he said. "Follow that Lion and alert all ships in the area to intercept. Capturing that Lion and the human weapon alive is your first and only priority."
"Yes, your Majesty. Full power after the Lion and the human weapon!"
What did they mean by 'human weapon'? Crystal Stars was...? The ship follows Lance as he pilots the Blue Lion well past most of the solar system, arriving at Kerberos in a matter of minutes, when it normally takes Earth's spacecrafts months to arrive.
"Oh, no!" Hunk panicked.
"They're gaining on us!"
"And fast!"
This has Pidge and Crystal to worry even more.
"It's weird. They're not trying to shoot us. Th-They're just chasing." Lance was right.
"Not to mention they're after me too for some strange reason. Remember?!"
Yeah, they do want Crystal and the blue lion brought back only.
"OK, seriously, now we think having aliens follow us is good?" questioned Hunk. "I am not on board with this new direction, guys."
"Where are we?"
Good question, Keith. For they weren't near planet earth system anymore.
"Edge of the solar system. There's Kerberos." said Shiro.
"Wow..." Crystal was amazed. "It was take us a year to get here we needed to be, but this...this lion can go faster than any other ships I've studied upon."
Seems like it, to never seen a galaxy like this in person until today.
"It takes months for our ships to get out this far. We got out here in five seconds." Pidge was also right.
"Hey!" Crystal sees something next. "Look at that!"
Suddenly, a Wormhole appears, and though the Blue Lion wants to jump through it, Lance asks Shiro for advice as the senior officer. Shiro suggests to trust the Lion, but says that they should make the decision as a team. In the end, they all silently agree to "ditch class tomorrow", jumping through the Wormhole as it vanishes before the Galra warship can capture them.
"What is that?!" asked Hunk.
"Uh, this may seem crazy, but I think the Lion wants us to go through there."
Also right about that for the lion told Lance to go do so.
"Where does it go?" Pidge asks Lance.
"I-I don't know." he then asks Shiro something. "Shiro, you're the senior officer here. What should we do?"
"Whatever's happening, the Lion knows more than we do. I say we trust it, but we're a team now. We should decide together."
He was right. The team looks at each other in silence.
"I say...we go for it." Crystal was in. "I won't stop until Zarkon is stopped.
"... All right. Guess we're all ditching class tomorrow." Lance takes the ship to fast speed now.
The Blue Lion enters the Wormhole and it disappears before the Galra warship can follow.
"We made it..." said Crystal.
The team groans from the turbulence of the Wormhole and exit to a different part of the universe.
"Whoa. That was..."
For Lance to be amazed, and then Hunk grunts and vomits in the Blue Lion, but pauses. After arriving on the other side of the Wormhole, Hunk vomits from the motion sickness.
"So sorry—" he continues to vomit.
"Ew!"
"Sorry, Crystal." Hunk blushes a little to try cleaning himself up next.
"Ah, don't worry about it." she said. "We're not dead at least."
"I'm just surprised it took this long." said Pidge.
Shiro comments on how he recognizes none of the constellations around them, so they must be a vast distance from Earth.
"I don't recognize any of these constellations. We must be a long, long way from Earth."
"Along way from home...?" surprised Crystal. "Wow. Never in my life I see a vesicle do something like this until today. How strange."
"The Lion seems to want to go to this planet. I think...I think it's going home."
I guess Lance made a good point again. The Blue Lion flies towards planet Arus and enters its atmosphere.
When the team starts to question their decision to trust the Lion and begins arguing, Shiro takes charge and asks Lance to focus on figuring out where they are going.
"Hey!" Crystal hates standing this close to the other guys.
"I don't mind if you want to lean on me, Crystal." Lance said.
"No thank you."
She moves away at least for the others to argue about all of this, like being little children.
"Guys, personal space! Crystal is one thing, but come on!" Lance complains. "Hunk, your breath is killing me."
"Um, is it just me or is anyone else having second thoughts about flying through a mysterious Wormhole? Why are we listening to a robotic lion anyway?"
He has a point there for Crystal to agree with Hunk there.
"Hey, he's right."
"It got us away from that alien warship, didn't it?"
Yeah, Lance, about that...
"I don't know if you noticed, but we're in an alien warship." Keith was right.
"Oh, are you scared?"
"With you at the helm? Terrified."
Ouch! Keith got Lance there really good.
"All right, knock it off!" Shiro speaks up for Crystal was happy to not hear anymore of this.
"Thank you!"
"No one's happy to be in this situation, but we're here now. If we want to get through this, we've got to do it together."
Yeah, more planing and less complaining.
"So, what do we do?" asked Pidge.
"First, we find out where we're headed. Lance?"
For Shiro to ask, Lance was getting nothing right now.
"Hello? Earth to Lance!" Crystal demands to know.
"I don't know. I'm sorry. The Lion's not talking to me anymore..." he then was getting something. "Wait! Wait, wait, wait! Shh! Listen. I think I hear something."
A high-pitched squeal sounds.
"I'm hearing it, too." Keith said too.
"It's, uh—It's kind of a—a high-pitched squeal?" Hunk guesses.
The Blue Lion won't respond, but Lance claims it suddenly is making a noise - something the others hear. It turns out to be Lance farting.
"Come on, Lance!" Keith, Hunk, and Pidge hated the smell.
And then Crystal hits Lance on the head.
"Grr...! You are such a pig!"
This has Keith laughing a little.
"Ouch!" he was hurt. "What did I do?!"
"Crystal's not like any other girls to not be mess with." Shiro warned the other boys. "Trust me." he then laughs too.
"Nice one." Keith said to Crystal to be blushing at her.
"What? It was gross."
The Blue Lion arrives at a mysterious large castle, the Castle of Lions, which unbeknownst to them, is also a spacecraft.
"But seriously, there's a Castle up ahead." said Lance.
Everyone's amazed as the Blue Lion approaches the Castle of Lions and the latent Castleship reactivates. The Lion lands in the courtyard.
"Keep your guard up." Shiro alters everyone else.
"Something wrong?" ask Pidge.
"My crew was captured by aliens once. I'm not going to let it happen again. Or to you, Crystal"
"Right." she understood. "Then let's get moving."
The Lion's arrival as it lands at the entrance prompts the Castle's power to awaken. Once the crew exits the Lion to investigate, it roars to command the Castle doors open. The team enters the dark Castle and find it eerily silent as Hunk calls out for anyone inside to no avail.
"Hello?" Hunk's voice echos in the emptiness while everyone stares at him, startled.
"Really?" Crystal questions him.
Blue energy suddenly ignites in the vestibule, and a computer's voice states that their identity is being scanned but will not respond to Shiro's questions.
[Hold for identity scan.]
A lot to scan on the six.
"What?" Pidge was confused.
"An unknown computer in this place?" questioned Crystal.
"Why are we here?" Shiro questions it. "What do you want with us?"
Blue lights ignite throughout the chamber to lead the team as they walk through the Castle.
"I guess we're going that way." said Pidge.
"Then...I guess we follow the leader."
They enter in some strange room next.
"Hello?" Hunk does it again.
"Where are we?" asked Lance.
"It's some kind of control room."
Pidge might be right. The console he is looking at suddenly activates and two sleep pods rise from the floor.
"Pods?" surprised Crystal. "There's two of them."
"Are these guys...dead?" ask Hunk.
"No, they're alive."
Yeah. Crystal felt it out there too. For there was no residents seem to exist until the team find the Sleep Chamber, where a sleep pod suddenly opens and Allura falls out, landing in Lance's arms.
"Father!"
He tries flirting with her, but she comments on how hideous his ears are.
"Hello."
"Who are you? Where am I?" Allura was confused.
"I'm Lance." he answers back. "And you're right here in my arms."
"Your...ears."
"... Yeah?"
"They're hideous. What's wrong with them?"
Not the best way to turn out here.
"Nothing's wrong with them! They heard exactly what you said about them!"
This offends him; she quickly puts him in a painful hold and questions who the new arrivals are, how they got here, and where King Alfor is.
"Who are you? Where is King Alfor? What are you doing in my Castle?" she demanded some answers.
"A giant blue lion brought us here! That's all we know!" said Lance in pain.
She knew right away on what he meant there.
"How do you have the Blue Lion? What happened to its Paladin? What are you all doing here? Unless...How long has it been?"
"Calm down." Crystal tries talking to Allura. "It's okay. (From the dress she's wearing, I think she's a princess.)"
Seems like an alien princess. Unable to answer any of her questions, Shiro asks what she knows, so Allura introduces herself as the princess of Altea.
"We don't know what you're talking about. Why don't you tell us who you are? Maybe we can help."
She then stops and then introduces herself to the others.
"I am Princess Allura of Planet Altea." she said. "I've got to find out where we are and how long we've been asleep."
As she checks the control console for how long she has been sleeping, Coran emerges from the other sleep pod and attacks Lance, mistaking him for an enemy.
"E-Enemy combatants!" Coran jumps towards Lance but he side-steps him, so Coran loses his balance.
"Quiznak! You're lucky I have a case of the old 'Sleep Chamber Knees'. Otherwise, I'd grab your head like this, wrap you up like so and—One, two, three—" he imitates his fighting moves and snaps his fingers. "—Sleepy time!"
"Well, before you did that, I'd—Hoo! Ha! Hiyah!" Lance imitates rudimentary karate. "—Like that."
"Oh, Really?! Well how could you do that when I've already come at you with this?!" Coran bends down and pretends to strike repeatedly.]
The royal advisor is easily side-stepped and the two start showing off their lackluster fighting moves.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha-ey!"
Coran and Lance were getting along...weirdly...
"What the heck just happened?" questioned Crystal.
"Man, these guys are good." said Hunk.
Allura discovers that she and Coran have been sleeping for 10,000 years.
"It can't be..." Allura was shocked.
"What is it?" Coran asks Allura.
"We've been asleep for 10,000 years!"
"Wait...! That long?!" shock Crystal.
She remembers the last time she saw her father, King Alfor, as Zarkon destroyed their fleet of spacecrafts and was ready to board the Castle of Lions. Allura wanted to form Voltron and continue fighting, but Alfor disagreed, thinking it better to scatter the Voltron Lions before Zarkon could take them. King Alfor cast a spell to put Allura asleep in the sleep pod, promising they would meet again if all went well, and told her that he loved her. In the present, with what information the computer has told her, Allura states that planet Altea and its entire solar system has been destroyed, along with her father and their entire civilization, all because of Zarkon.
"Planet Altea and all of the planets in our solar system have been destroyed. Coran, Father is gone. Our entire civilization..." Allura becomes enraged. "Zarkon!"
From there, both Shiro and Crystal remember his name too well. Naming the emperor out loud triggers a memory in Shiro and Crystal. Allura explains that Zarkon is the King of the Galra Empire, an enemy to freedom.
"Zarkon...?"
"Not Zarkon...!" Crystal stays close to Shiro for her to have the collar on her next to recall on somethings back on his ship that she's been through.
From there, Keith sees how much pain Crystal has been through a lot.
"He was the King of the Galra. A vile creature and enemy to all free people." said Allura.
"I remember now...I was his prisoner."
"I was too, but I escaped."
For Shiro and Crystal to say so, somehow Zarkon's alive and well today to not be good at all.
"He's still alive?" shocked Allura. "Impossible!"
"I can't explain it, but it's true." Shiro said to Allura. "He's searching for a super weapon called Voltron and Crystal for some reason."
Shiro remembers being his prisoner same thing with Crystal too, surprising Allura that Zarkon still lives after so much time has passed. Shiro tells her that Zarkon is searching for Voltron and Crystal herself, and Allura assures him that Zarkon is searching for it because it is the only thing that can defeat him, so they must acquire it before he does. And then everyone all look at Crystal to not know about it herself.
"Hey! Don't look at me! I didn't do anything to make Zarkon mad!"
"He's searching for it because he knows it's the only thing that can defeat him, and that's exactly why we must find it before he does." Allura then looks at Crystal. "And your name is Crystal Star, correct? Hmmm..."
Looking all over Crystal strange tattoos on her arm to be a symbol of some kind of different language.
"What are you doing, princess?"
At the Galra Empire's Central Command, Haggar is scrying for information and senses the return of the Blue Lion, and the return of Altean energy. She informs Zarkon, and he is surprised that the Altean princess still lives.
"The Blue Lion has returned, and now I feel a resurgence of Altean energy. And the human weapon of this...human Crystal."
"Alfor's daughter lives? How?" Zarkon questions himself there.
"I know not, but it is time to reclaim what is rightfully ours." she said to the leader.
Haggar thinks they should reclaim what is rightfully theirs and Zarkon agrees. He declares he will take back Voltron and annihilate the Altean race completely, and then orders Haggar to contact his commanders.
"Yes." he agrees. "I shall wipe that foul race from the universe forever and take back Voltron and the human weapon we need. Contact my commanders."
Zarkon speaks with Sendak on his warship and instructs him to retrieve the Voltron Lions and Allura who are closest to his location.
"Emperor Zarkon requests an audience." said Haxus.
The computer screen shows of Zarkon again.
"Commander Sendak, the Princess of Altea is alive and hiding in your sector. We believe she alone holds the whereabouts of the remaining Lions. Your battle fleet is the closest to her location. Retrieve her, the human weapon, and the Lions. With them all, the Galra Empire will be unstoppable."
"I fight for the Empire. I conquer in the name of Galra. No foe has ever stood in my way and none ever will. Vrepit sa!" after the transmission for Sendak leads the army. "Set a course for Arus."
Back at the Castle of Lions...
"Princess, you must eat." Coran wants to help her out. "It's been 10,000 years!"
"I'm not hungry."
After sleeping for that long, I would be.
"Man, 10,000 years? That's like one thousand plus ten."
And then Keith corrects Lance.
"That's times ten." he said.
"Whatever, dropout." Lance talks back at Keith.
"I haven't eaten since breakfast and I'm starving." said Hunk.
Only he puked on the blue lion.
"Yeah, but you've thrown up, like, five times." Pidge made a good point.
"Hmm...Good point." but Hunk begins eating the food goo, continuing to eat although disgusted.
"And...he's still eating." said Crystal. "So this place of a ship. With different technology's amazing."
Shiro is amazed at the Altean technology, and comments on how wonderful Altea must have been.
"I can't believe your civilization created such advanced technology 10,000 years ago. It must have been an incredible place."
"Same here!" same with Crystal.
"Yes, it was...but now it is gone and we're the last Alteans alive." Coran reminisces and embraces Allura as they mourn their lost people.
She suddenly hears chirping, and happily discovers the Altean Mice within her sleep pod.
"Looks like we're not the last, after all."
From a girl, big, small, and grumpy one.
"Aw, they're so cute!" Crystal loves cute creatures. "I never though I seen these kind before. So amazing."
The Castle alarms blare, indicating a Galra warship (belonging to Sendak) has locked on to their location.
"A Galra battleship has set its tracker to us!" so says Coran.
"How did they find us?!"
With Allura wanting to know, Crystal might know from the collar.
"My collar! (It also follows my every movement!)"
"I'm not sure, but I bet it's Keith's fault."
Now wasn't the time, Lance!
"Say whatever you've got to say to make yourself feel better...after getting us stuck on the other side of a Wormhole!" so says Keith.
"I'LL STICK YOU IN A WORMHOLE!"
Lance and Keith argue again when Lance suggests that it is somehow Keith's fault; Shiro intervenes and redirects their attention to a course of action.
"Stow it, cadets! This is no time to place blame, it's time to work as a team. How long before they arrive?"
they were coming in pretty fast.
"At their speed? Oh, well, uh, carry the two.. I'd say probably a couple of days?"
"A month on other ships, but not from them...!" Crystal was worried. "I didn't mean to-!
"It's fine, Crystal." said Shiro. "We'll get you out of there and destroy it. We still have time for that and come up with a plan."
All was forgiven to not be Crystal's fault at all.
"Thanks, Shiro. So, we still have plenty of time until they arrive."
Like Coran just said, he claims the Galra warship won't arrive for a few days, giving them time to find the remaining Voltron Lions.
"Good." said Allura. "Let them come! By the time they get here, you five will have reformed Voltron, and together, we will destroy Zarkon's empire!"
Just then, Hunk burps.
"Sorry! Food goo."
"Well excuse you!" said Crystal to look at the goop next. "What does this stuff taste like...?" sticking her tongue out to not be good to her.
"Princess, there are five of these Lions. How are we going to find the rest?" Shiro asks Allura.
King Alfor connected the Lions to Allura's life force, so she is able to track and sense their locations by synchronizing with the Castle's systems in the Bridge of the Castleship.
"King Alfor connected the Lions to Allura's life force. She alone is the key to the Lions' whereabouts." so says Coran.
It was sight to see for Allura to be born with this type of power.
"Wow! Look at her go." for Allura to be doing this and Crystal seeing her body glowing too. "Huh? My body..."
Something was up, huh? Soon Allura assigns a Lion to each of the Earthlings, matching them to their Quintessence. The Black Lion is within the Castle to protect it from Zarkon, and can only be freed if the other Lions are present.
"The Black Lion is the decisive head of Voltron. It will take a pilot who is a born leader and in control at all times, someone whose men will follow without hesitation. That is why, Shiro, you will pilot the Black Lion." Allura moves the Green Lion's hologram towards Pidge. "The Green Lion has an inquisitive personality and needs a pilot of intellect and daring. Pidge, you will pilot the Green Lion. The Blue Lion—"
Seems like it, sort of.
"—Whope, hold up, let me guess: Takes the most handsome slash best pilot of the bunch?" Lance smiles; ALLURA looks annoyed and then continues.
Moving on now...
"The...Yellow Lion is caring and kind." Allura sends the hologram Yellow Lion towards Hunk. "Its pilot is one who puts the needs of others above his own. His heart must be mighty. As the leg of Voltron, you will lift the team up and hold them together."
"Okay...?"
"The Red Lion is temperamental and the most difficult to master. It's faster and more agile than the others, but also more unstable. Its pilot needs to be someone who relies more on instincts than skill alone. Keith, you will fly the Red Lion."
I guess Keith has the red lion then.
"What? This guy?" this has Lance and Keith glare at each other.
"I think it's great you guys got your own lions to fight back." Crystal said to have Keith smiling back at her.
"Ah, thanks Crystal."
She's able to locate two of the remaining three: The Green Lion lies on a forest-covered Green Planet, and the Yellow Lion on a large planetoid. The Red Lion's location remains a mystery, as the Castle might need to be repaired to work at full power, so Keith remains at the Castle with the Alteans until it can be located.
"Unfortunately, I cannot locate the Red Lion's coordinates yet. There must be something wrong with the Castle. After 10,000 years, it...might need some work."
Now Allura tells them even Keith for his lion to have.
"Don't worry, we'll find it soon. They don't call me "The Coranic" for nothing. " said Coran. "It's because it sounds like "mechanic." So...Coranic, mechanic. It's not—It doesn't sound...exactly like it. It's similar."
The hologram Lions roar and charge together, forming Voltron.
"So that was the image was telling us." surprise Crystal.
"Once all the Lions are united, you will form Voltron, the most powerful warrior ever known, the Defender of the Universe."
They hear the princess loud and clear. For Hunk and Pidge were in already.
"Awesome!"
"Oh..."
HUNK: "Wait. Okay, we're going to be in there and flying Lions. Got that part. How do Lions turn into legs? Also, is this going to be a long trip? Because I have to pee. Do you people pee?" Hunk just had to ask.
Planning time was next.
"You know we don't have much time. Pidge and I will go after the Green Lion." Shiro aids the team. "Lance, you take Hunk and get the yellow one. Keith, you stay here. If you locate that Red Lion, go get it." he then says this to Crystal. "And Crystal, stay safe and keep the others from danger."
"I got it, Shiro."
Keith hears Shiro loud and clear there. Coran readies a flight pod for Shiro and Pidge to retrieve the Green Lion, while Lance uses the Blue Lion to take Hunk to the Yellow Lion.
"In the meantime, I'll get this Castle's defenses ready. They'll be sorely needed."
"I'll ready a pod a-and load in the coordinates so that you can reach the Green Lion." Coran said.
Both teams use Wormholes created by the Castle to reach their locations, but they have a two-hour limit before the Wormholes close.
"Good luck..." then Crystal thought about something. "Hey, wait...I don't have a lion of my own! I want to fight too! Zarkon maybe going after me, but I will not stand by for this!"
"Oh...that's sort of a problem.
"What do you mean 'sort of'?!" Crystal questions Coran.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way!"
"I know..." she needed to calm down for a bit.
This has Kieth to worry about Crystal more and more, she can do more than be on standby, right? As well as seeing the markings again to be glowing for Allura had something in mind.
"Wait, can it be...?" she questions herself.
Shiro and Pidge arrive on the densely-forested Green Planet to locate the Green Lion using an Altean compass; at a river, they find a canoe with a lion-carving at its bowsprit belonging to a sloth-like alien who suddenly appears beside them, much to their surprise. The sloth-like alien recognizes the Voltron symbol on Pidge's compass and invites them to use the canoe. Pidge is hesitant, but Shiro is not guarded, since he thinks a canoe ride is nothing compared to being a prisoner of the Galra Empire for a year. The ride along the river with the sloth-like alien is pleasant and Pidge wonders if Hunk and Lance are also having an enjoyable time.
By contrast, Lance and Hunk are under heavy fire from Galra fighter jets on the planetoid. The Blue Lion is struck from the sky by missiles, but Lance is able to avoid crashing and flies towards a Galra mine that Hunk's Altean compass reveals is the Yellow Lion's location. Lance forcefully drops a panicking and crying Hunk off behind enemy lines while taking more heavy fire. Hunk is disgruntled at being left, but hot-wires a Galra lift to take him into the mine full of lion carvings which light a path to the Yellow Lion. Hunk uses a drill to get through the cave walls surrounding the massive spacecraft.
On the surface, Lance flies the Blue Lion to draw the Galra fighter jets away but notices the jets suddenly firing at the mine entrance. His attempts to stop them are in vain as, to Lance's horror, the mine entrance violently explodes from a missile strike.
Back on the Green Planet, Pidge begins expressing doubts as a Communications Specialist cadet trying to be a pilot, though admits to having read all the fighter pilot manuals. Shiro intervenes and speaks of his missing commander's advice...
"If you get too worried about what could go wrong, you might miss a chance to do something great." he gave a good advice there.
Pidge smiles fondly. They arrive at a root-covered stone temple. The lion carvings glow at Pidge's presence.
"Oh, wow." to his surprise to be working.
Shiro tells Pidge to...
"Go, be great."
Pidge climbs the summit of the temple, but finds nothing of note until a growling is heard and a light glows from beneath the tangle of roots. After Pidge jumps inside, the Green Lion powerfully breaks free from its tomb with Pidge accepted as its Paladin.
Lance, meanwhile, is still battling the Galra fighter jets and hoping Hunk still lives. He is struck by laser fire that sends the Blue Lion spiraling to the ground and leaves it staggering to recover. Lance braces for impact from Galra missiles sent to end him, but the Yellow Lion bursts from the ground to block the strike and flattens the three fighter jets with its massive body. Although Lance thinks Hunk took the fire to save him, Hunk admits he was trying to dodge, but the Yellow Lion is too slow; thankfully, the Lion has incredible armor to compensate.
More Galra fighter jets appear and bombard the two Lions with laser fire; Allura sends a message to the Blue Lion and Lance, asking them to return as she cannot hold the Wormhole open much longer. Hunk and Lance fly their Lions into the sky, but the Yellow Lion is struck and is sent twirling towards the Wormhole instead, rekindling Hunk's motion sickness. However, the two safely reach the Wormhole and return to the Castle of Lions.
"Paladins, please hurry back! I can't hold the Wormhole much longer!" Allura said to the other four pilots.
With Keith and Crystal waiting around for their return, Allura had something for Crystal can do for some god news.
"Is there's something you want from me, princess?"
"Yes, Crystal. The markings on your arms. Where did you get them?" she asked.
Hard to talk about it too.
"I got it from being a test subject of some kind by Zarkon's doing..." Crystal hates remembering it all. "I can't remember why, my body glows up, and it's like I understand these lions of Voltron when I touch them."
"Then maybe..." Allura thought of something. "Coran, could you bring 'it' out?"
"It...? You don't mean this?" he gets it out to be a space type of silver sword for Coran gives it to Crystal.
"What type of sword is this...?" she then glows up even more. "Whoa!"
"Crystal?!" Keith was confused.
"I don't know what this is!"
From that and touching on of the controls of Voltron, Allura knew she was right.
"I knew it. Crystal. I think you were born with a special power to use for good, and not becoming Zarkon's human weapons. Please help us fight. Maybe to not have a lion right now, but somewhere in the other reaches of space, there is one. But for now, we can use those power for good. Please..."
Allura means it to have Crystal make a choice here.
"Me become your power of Voltron?" she had trouble with all of it. "I don't know what to say..."
Well then, decide soon for Keith didn't want for Crystal to go back to Zarkon again and get captured. After Lance and Hunk return, with Shiro and Pidge already there, Coran reveals to everyone that the Red Lion has been found: it is on the Galra warship currently orbiting Arus.
"Did we find the Red Lion yet?" Shiro asks Coran.
"Allura just located it. There's a bit of good news and bad news. The good news is, the Red Lion's nearby. The bad news is, it's on board that Galra ship now orbiting Arus. But wait, good news again. We're Arus!"
Well, this wasn't good at all.
"Of all the place, it's in the enemy's base!"
Coran admits to miscalculating the amount of time the warship would need to reach them. The warship's commander, Sendak, sends a video transmission to the Castleship proclaiming his intent to destroy Arus if the Lions are not handed over.
"They're here already?" Shiro was shock.
"Yes. Guess my calculations were a bit off. Finger counting—I-It's more of an art than a science. Hmm?"
A video transmission overtakes the Castle's screen, and SENDAK appears.
"Princess Allura, this is Commander Sendak of the Galra Empire." said Sendak. "I come on behalf of Emperor Zarkon, Lord of the Known Universe. I am here to confiscate the Lions and the human weapon. Turn them over to me, or I will destroy your planet."
Then the transmission ends.
"All right, let's not panic."
Shiro tells everyone not to panic but the team begins arguing over what should be done.
"So that's why...I'm a human weapon Zarkon turn me into..." Crystal looked scared. "But how...?"
"Not panic?" Hunk was freaking out too. "Th-The scary purple alien thing is driving his battleship toward us. We only have four Lions."
"Technically, only three working Lions." Pidge corrects him.
"That's right. Thank you, Pidge." he thanks Pidge. "Three working Lions an-and a Castle that's, like, 10,000 years old."
"A-Actually, it's 10,600 years old. You see, it was built by my grandfather—"
"Thanks, Coran. Thank you for that. See? Now is the perfect time to panic!"
Now Coran tells them for Hunk to panic even more. Hunk points out how they do not have all the Lions needed to form Voltron, and how this is the perfect time to panic, but Allura tries to reassure everyone when she remembers the Castle of Lions can defend itself with a particle barrier.
"Wait! This Castle has a particle barrier we can activate."
And then Lance says something dirty again, kind of...
"Girl, you've already activated my par—"
"—Lance!" Shiro stops him.
"Thank you!" Crystal said and tries to calm down. "Use these strange powers for good or bad. Man, this is hard...! My head's hurting me."
Hard to process, huh? I don't blame Crystal there. However, the Castle scanners show the ion cannon on Sendak's warship is more advanced and powerful than the Galra technology 10,000 years ago.
"The particle barrier won't hold Sendak's ion cannon forever. The Galra technology must have advanced since we fought them last." Coran said.
"Panic now?"
No, Hunk. Maybe there's another way through this.
"No. We've just got to figure out our plan of action, and...figure it out quickly." Shiro ask for any other ideas.
"I say we pop through a Wormhole and live to fight another day."
"I second that. Yes. I mean, we tried to find all the Lions, right? We gave it the old college try. Couldn't do it. We only have three. We can't form Voltron. I man, I guess we could form a...snake? Or a worm! To go through that hole, Lance, that you were talking about."
Lance suggests fleeing to fight another day and Hunk agrees.
"Then, it's settled. Allura, you ride with me. One of you take the old guy."
This has Coran seethes.
"Well, that's a bit rude." Crystal added in.
Keith and Pidge desire to stay and fight.
"We can't just abandon Arus." said Pidge. "The Galra will keep destroying planets and capturing prisoners until we stop them."
"Okay. If we run, then maybe Sendak will follow us and leave this planet alone, like when we left Earth. We form the snake-worm thingamajig and we—hiss out of here."
What Hunk said to be true to work or not?
"A snake?" Crystal was lost.
"Sendak could destroy the planet then come after us anyway. Staying is our only option." said Keith.
"Here's an option: shut your Quiznak." Lance says it instead.
"I don't think you're using that word correctly."
"What do you know, Mullet?"
They fight at each other again.
"We're staying."
"Leaving!"
"Staying!"
With Pidge agreeing with Keith and Hunk said an idea of his.
"Snake!"
The argument escalates until Shiro loses his patience and interjects, asking Allura to make the decision as the one most experienced fighting the Galra Empire.
"Guys, stop!"
"This is no time to argue!" same with Crystal. "I mean come on!"
" Princess Allura, these are your Lions. You've dealt with the Galra Empire before. You know what we're facing better than any of us. What do you think is the best course of action?"
With Shiro asking Allura, does she know something?
"I...I-I don't know."
Allura, however, remains at a loss; Coran, to her bewilderment, suggests seeking advice from her deceased father, King Alfor, and takes her to the Memory Chamber.
"Perhaps your father can help." said Coran.
"My father? Coran, what is this?" she was confused.
He explains that Alfor knew of the possibility he would not see his daughter again, and so Alfor stored his memories within the Castleship's computer.
"King Alfor knew there was a chance he might never see you again. So, his memories, his very being, were stored in this computer for you."
Allura approaches the computer and its strange orb of light, which bursts and changes the room to an image of planet Altea.
"Father! Father, it is so good to see you."
[Allura, my only child, how I've missed your face.] hologram Alfor spoke.
A father and daughter sort of reunion. She greets the holographic image of her father's artificial intelligence as if he were real, and he responds in turn.
"... I'm so frightened. A Galra ship is set to attack, and I don't know what to do. Please, Father, I need your help."
[I would do anything to take this burden from you.]
"I don't know if we should run to preserve what we have or stay and risk everything. I want to fight, but the Paladins of old are gone. I know what you would do."
Allura admits her fear of the situation and asks Alfor what should be done. At first, the King recounts his decision to hide the Lions 10,000 years prior for the greater good, and Allura believes this should be repeated. However, Alfor laments his grave mistake that cost the universe countless lives, and tells Allura that back then, she was right, and now she should sacrifice everything to amend his mistake and form Voltron to defeat Zarkon.
[I scattered the Lions of Voltron to keep them out of Zarkon's hands. You urged me to keep them and fight, but, for the greater good of protecting the universe, I chose to hide them.]
"I think I understand."
[No, daughter, you were right. I made a terrible mistake, one that cost the universe countless lives. Forming Voltron is the only way to stop Zarkon. You must be willing to sacrifice everything to assemble the Lions and correct my error.]
Allura suddenly dons a space suit and returns to the Paladins in the Command Room.
"Crystal, here's yours."
Having one to from pink and a beautiful silver suit one for the girls to be wearing.
"Hey, this fits great. Thanks, Allura." she said. "(Maybe I can fight for them. Maybe there's another lion somewhere for me to use somehow...But for now...) I think you know what to do then."
Allura is reaffirmed in her will to fight. She discards her royal gown and dons a space suit by the time she returns to the Bridge. Allura tells her new Paladins that they were brought here for a reason, destined to fly the Voltron Lions and form Voltron as the universe's only hope. The Paladins are ready to follow her command.
"Of course. You five Paladins and Crystal were brought here for a reason. The Voltron Lions are meant to be piloted by you and you alone. We must fight and keep fighting until we defeat Zarkon. As well as Crystal to use her powers for good and never for evil." said the princess. "It is our destiny. Voltron is the universe's only hope. We are the universe's only hope."
And with that, Coran also removed Crystal's necklace at last with a small torch lighter.
"And done!" he said. "You're welcome."
Finally free from being chained up.
"Hey, yeah...I am free. And I'm ready to fight!"
"I'm happy for you, Crystal." said Shiro to turn to Allura next. "And we're with you, Princess."
"Same here!" said Crystal. "I don't know how to completely control Voltron for power, but I'll give it a try."
In the Armory, the Paladins don their suits of armor and each receive a Bayard, the traditional weapon of a Paladin of Voltron, one that changes form to best suit its user.
"Your suits of armor."
Allura shows the suits of the same colors as the lions they were piloting were. For Lance, Shiro, Keith, and Pidge all loved it.
"Cool!"
"Outstanding."
"Nice."
"Oh, neat!"
Hunk's Bayard becomes a large cannon; Keith's Bayard becomes a katar. Lance's Bayard becomes a rifle, while Pidge's becomes a small grappling hook with a knife head, leading Lance to jest about how "cute" it is, but Pidge proves how dangerous the Bayard is by striking Lance with it, which painfully electrocutes him.
"Got it!" said Hunk.
"Each of them have different ones." said Crystal to love it all. "Neat. Good luck, boys!"
Different heroes, but they're the only ones to stop this war for good.
"Boys, it's time to suit up!" Shiro leads them.
Allura explains that the Black Bayard was lost with its Paladin, leaving Shiro defenseless, but he accepts this in stride.
"The Bayard is the traditional weapon of the Paladins of Voltron. It takes a distinct shape for each Paladin."
"Aw, you got a cute little bayard." Pidge strikes Lance and he is electrocuted.
"Yeah, it is pretty cute."
Keith wonders how he will locate the Red Lion on Sendak's impressively massive warship. His fellow Paladins assure him he will be able to sense the Lion's presence, similar to the energy he felt from the Blue Lion in the desert on Earth.
"Shiro, I'm afraid your Bayard was lost with its Paladin." Allura said to him.
Oh, now she tells him.
"Is it that hard to control?" ask Crystal.
"I guess I'll just have to make do." Shiro said. "I'm sure it'll be fine, crystal. You back us up, and we'll handle the rest."
The gathers in the Bridge of the Castle of Lions. Allura warns him that the Red Lion is extremely temperamental, however, and its respect must be earned.
"You'll need to retrieve the Red Lion from Sendak's ship."
But it won't be so easy at first.
"That's a...pretty big ship." Keith sees the details carefully. "How are we gonna know where the Red Lion is?"
The others help Keith out to know how it works, for the three so far.
"Oh, it's not a matter of 'we'. It's a matter of 'you'." said Pidge.
"Pidge is right." same with Hunk. "Once we get you in, you'll be able to feel its presence and track it down."
"Yeah. You know how you felt that crazy energy while we were in the desert?"
For Lance had to bring that up to Keith again.
"Yeah. You made fun of me for that." he said back.
"And I'm proud of that, but turns out it's exactly like that mumbo-jumbo." said Lance.
"Keith, remember, the Red Lion is extremely temperamental." so says Allura. "You'll have to earn its respect."
"All right. Here's our plan of attack. The Galra Empire knows about the Blue and Yellow Lion, but they don't know we have the Green Lion, too. Hunk, Lance, you'll act as a decoy by pretending to give yourselves up."
Shiro explains their plan: while Lance and Hunk act as if they are relinquishing their Lions to Sendak, Pidge will fly the Green Lion to the underside of the warship, as the Galra are not aware they have it. With Crystal on standby with Allura and Coran back on the ship, it was time to get the last lion to form Voltron. Pidge uses the Green Bayard to cut a hole and infiltrate the warship along with Keith and Shiro as the Green Lion rests under the warship. The plan succeeds, but Sendak is alerted to their treachery when Lance and Hunk dodge his warship's tractor beam to avoid capture.
"They lied to us. Launch fighters!" on Sendak's commands.
Fighter jets deploy from the warship, and Lance battles them with the Blue Lion as Hunk focuses on dismantling the powerful ion cannon. Inside the warship, Pidge is slated to guard the Paladin's exit; Shiro has a flashback and recalls being on the very same warship before, brought there after the Galra Commander captured him in the first warship encountered on Kerberos.
"Shiro?" Crystal felt Shiro's pain."
"I'm fine...!"
Pidge suggests the other Kerberos Mission crewmen might still be on Sendak's warship, but Shiro claims they do not have the time. While pained, he is inclined to make the harsh decision and leave them to prioritize acquiring the Red Lion and returning to defend Arus. Pidge protests, believing they cannot abandon prisoners, and reveals the missing crewmen are family: Samuel Holt is Pidge's father, and Matthew Holt is Pidge's brother.
"Commander Holt is my father." said Pidge. "He and my brother were the ones on the Kerberos Mission with you."
"Pidge..." Crystal also feels out Pidge's pain even more. "I'm so sorry."
Pidge admits to searching for them since they went missing and refuses to give up searching now. Although Pidge turns to leave, Shiro agrees to search as well because he remembers where the prison cells are, meaning Keith will have to find the Red Lion alone. This leaves Keith uncertain, but Shiro believes he will be fine and reminds him that...
"Patience yields focus".
The three are forced to split ways without further discussion when a door opens and Galra Sentries approach.
"Crystal, come in. Do you read me?" Keith checks on her.
Using the computer skills to be this good at them.
"Loud and clear, Keith." she said back. "I'll guide you to the red lion. Just listen and follow my lead."
"Thank you. (I would listen to you a lot. You're amazing..."
Wow, someone likes Crystal. Keith runs along a corridor but finds himself lost at an intersecting one. He is distracted by a glowing Galra emblem on the wall of the warship. Centered beneath the emblem with its reflection on his helmet, Keith stares at the strange symbol with narrowed eyes until the sound of Galra Sentries approaching reminds him of his goal. Out in space, Hunk tries slamming into the warship's ion cannon but is blocked by a force field. On Arus, Allura struggles to get the particle barrier activated because the barrier crystals are out of alignment.
"Particle barrier up!"
"Is that what's supposed to happen?" Coran checks. "All the barrier crystals are out of alignment!"
"Is that bad?!" asked Crystal. "Is bad, isn't it?"
"We have to fix it immediately." said Allura. "Without the particle barrier, we'll be defenseless."
"We're both too big. What can we do?"
Neither she nor Coran can easily fix this, as the hole to access them is so tiny. The Altean Mice crawl inside and realign the crystals for them; Allura can hear the mice talking to her, and believes their minds are connected to hers because they shared the same sleep pod for 10,000 years.
"The mice!" surprised Allura.
"No way!" same with Crystal.
"How do they know how to do this?" questioned Coran.
"I can hear them talking to me. I think our minds are connected. It must be from sharing the sleep pod for 10,000 years." The Altean Mice put the crystals back in alignment. "Thank you, friends."
Soon, Coran appears to be focusing intensely on the Altean Mice.
"OK...?" Crystal continues to aid Keith. "Okay, Keith. Go to your right, left, another left, and upper right a little...No, your other right!"
As for Coran looking t the mice to confuse Allura about it.
"Coran, what are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get them to make me a sandwich." Coran's attempt to tell the mice to make him a sandwich only earns Allura's lack of amusement.
Keith rushes through the Galra warship but ends up at the same Galra emblem as before, much to his frustration.
"Crystal..."
"You're almost there, focus." she said.
He recalls Shiro's earlier words of "patience yields focus", and calms himself to focus inwardly. Throughout the warship, he is finally able to sense the Red Lion and runs off to claim it.
"Gotcha." said Keith. "Thank you, Crystal."
"You found it!"
Elsewhere on the warship, Shiro and Pidge encounter a Galra drone. Pidge strikes it with a beam from the Green Paladin armor before it can react. Shiro warns that they have been spotted and need to leave, but Pidge reconfigures the drone to work for them and names it Rover. Rover opens the prisoner cell for them, but only aliens are found inside. One prisoner, Xi, recognizes Shiro and surprisingly calls him "Champion". Pidge, disappointed no family members are found among the prisoners, insists for them to quickly leave using the warship's escape pods. Out in space, Lance is excited to fly around and dodge the Galra fighter jets without anyone barfing inside the Blue Lion's cockpit; Hunk continues to struggle against the ion cannon's force field.
Keith, meanwhile, approaches the Red Lion held in place by its own force field and the warship's structures.
"Bingo. Let's get out of here. Open up." said Keith to try saying something to it. "It's me. Keith. Your buddy. It's me! Keith, your—I. AM. YOUR. PALADIN!"
Although he speaks to the Red Lion and touches its force field, no reaction occurs. Keith frustratingly yells to the Lion to no avail and knocks on the force field. His shouts draw the attention and laser fire of robot Galra Sentries.
"Keith!" Crystal alerts him. "Get out of there now! We got trouble!"
"I'm bonding with you! Hey! Come on! We're connected!"
At first, Keith summons his shield to block the onslaught and yells for the Red Lion to accept him. When this fails, Keith battles the Sentries until he is knocked back; his snap decision to unlock the airlock doors and send the Sentries into space succeeds, but Keith himself is sucked outside after holding on for dear life and being hit by debris.
"No, Keith!" Crystal worried.
And somehow, Crystal to be worried about Keith's safety to make a shield around his body to hold up for a bit...But for how long? Impressed with this display, the Red Lion finally awakens and catches Keith in its mouth, accepting him as its Paladin.
"Good kitty. Let's roll." he was ready to fight and he was in control. "I'm OK, Crystal."
"Huh?" she sees it. "Yes! You did it, Keith! (And...I did it again. My powers were glowing and my body. Allura wants for me to use my power for good, and not for Zarkon's. Got it!)
She knew what was right and wrong. As Shiro and Pidge direct the prisoners to the escape pod, Galra Sentries surround them. This triggers Shiro's prosthetic arm to activate painfully, glowing a mysterious purple and black. The sound of Pidge's voice becomes distorted to him until Shiro settles, and he rushes the Sentries. Shiro strikes with speed and strength not seen before, and his prosthetic arms allows him to cut through the robots with ease. Xi thanks Shiro as he leaves with the other aliens in the escape pod, but provides him no explanation for why he knows Shiro. Pidge is impressed with Shiro's fighting and asks where he learned to use his arm like that; Shiro has no clue. Hunk is finally able to destroy the force field surrounding the ion cannon with the Yellow Lion's mouth cannon, and slams the Lion into the cannon to disfigure it. With the plan successful, all four Lions return to Arus.
Sendak is enraged and orders the cannon fired, but Haxus relays the bad new of the ion cannon being out of commission.
"They stole the Red Lion!"
"After them!" demanded Sendak. "Either we get those Lions and the human weapon or we blow this whole planet to cosmic dust! Fire the ion cannon!"
Yeah, about that...
"Sir, the ion cannon has been damaged." said Haxus.
"Then, send the drones to fix it!"
He sure is pushy, huh? Now for the heroes - they must wait for it to be fixed before they can destroy the planet. Inside the Castle of Lions, Shiro stands in a large chamber with the four claimed Lions whose lights begin to glow. In the Bridge of the Castleship, Allura prays that the Black Lion is freed and accepts its new Paladin.
"(Come on, Shiro...You can do it...)" Crystal thinks of good things to aid Shiro.
The door before Shiro activates and opens to reveal the Black Lion, the core of Voltron and the largest of all the Lions. Upon being freed, the Black Lion activates and roars, and the other Lions roar in response, showing the acceptance of Shiro as the new Black Paladin.
"They did it!" Coran was happy.
"Yes." same with Allura.
"Alright!" and Crystal. "We got all the lions!"
Now the attack happens.
"Oh, Quiznak!" said Coran in fear.
"Sendak is entering the Arusian atmosphere. We need Voltron now!"
And now, Shiro enters the Black Lion, and all five Lions launch from the Castleship.
"The ion cannon is back online!" said Haxus.
And by Sendak's command...
"Fire!"
The Alteans' relief is short-lived, as Sendak's warship enters the atmosphere and prompts the alarms of the Castleship to blare. The five Voltron Lions launch from the Castleship but remain inside the particle barrier. A wise decision, as the warship blasts them with the repaired ion cannon.
"Quickly, Crystal! Defend Voltron! We can do this!" said Allura.
Placing her hands on her machines to feel out the five guys and the lion, it was time to fight.
"Right, princess!" she powers up. "(I can do this...!)"
The team is shaken, but survives the blast. Coran warns that each blast will weaken the barrier, and Allura urges the new Paladins to form Voltron. A second blast from the ion cannon shakes them again, but Shiro encourages his team to throw everything they have into fighting.
"Listen up, Team Voltron! The only way to succeed is to give it all you've got! This looks bad, but we can do this! Are you with me?"
They were all in – Keith, Lance, and Pidge. Leaving Hunk to be the last one.
"I'm nodding. Is everyone else nodding?" he asks everyone.
"Yes." all three of them said it together.
"Let's do this!" Shiro said it.
The Lions run forward and exit the barrier under heavy fire from Galra fighter jets. When asked if they are with him, the other four Paladins nod, albeit silently without any vocal affirmation. Hunk asks if everyone nodded like he did, which they all unenthusiastically confirm.
The Lions run forward and exit the barrier, drawing heavy fire from Galra fighter jets; all of the Paladins are unsure of how to form Voltron since there is not even a button anywhere on the control dashboards for combining into a giant robot. Pidge becomes frustrated with the Galra's constant barrage and throws one of the fighter jets into another with the Green Lion. Keith destroys two more with the Red Lion's tail cannon; Hunk tries combining by literally slamming into the Red Lion with the Yellow Lion. It fails, only angering Keith.
"Come on!" Crystal won't give up.
Seeing Allura struggle as she warns them the barrier's power is depleting, Shiro prompts the team to fly in formation, hoping the Lions will combine. Although they do, it only throws the Lions directly into the tractor beam of Sendak's warship. With the beam freezing the Lions and dragging them closer, Sendak orders a message of victory be sent to Zarkon. Another blast of the ion cannon destroys the particle barrier surrounding the Castle of Lions and Allura watches in horror as the Lions are dragged away. k sends a video transmission to Shiro declaring that he is finally going to panic, and starts screaming. Pidge does not want things to end this way, but Keith and Lance seem to give up.
"Oh, no!" cried out Shiro.
"I-I don't care what you say, Shiro. I'm panicking now!" Hunk starts screaming.
Even Pidge, Lance, and Keith admit defeat almost.
"It can't end here!"
"This is it!"
"It's been an honor flying with you boys."
And then with Hunk again.
"Oh, no!"
With the situation so dire, Shiro declares they cannot give up, that they must believe in themselves as the universe's only hope, a team that will win if they work together.
"No! We can do this. We have to believe in ourselves. We can't give up. We are the universe's only hope. Everyone is relying on us. We can't fail! We won't fail! If we work together, we'll win together!"
Just one more shot with Crystal's help.
"Yeah!"
From Shiro's empowering speech boosts the Paladins' morale and unites their hearts. And with Crystal's powers finally taking full effect.
"Yes!" she gives it a go. "Do it, Voltron!"
It was working1 The Lions glow with power and break free from the tractor beam, combining to form Voltron with the Black Lion as the head and torso, the Red Lion as the right arm, the Green Lion as the left arm, and the Blue Lion and Yellow Lion as the right leg and left leg. They form at just the right moment, able to divert the ion cannon from destroying the Castle of Lions by simply punching the cannon. And some power boost with Crystal's help to use for good and not for Zarkon's control.
"Voltron!" surprise Sendak.
It was time to fight back now. For Keith, Pidge, Hunk, Lance, and Shiro were loving this too.
"I can't believe it!"
"We formed Voltron!"
"I'm a leg!"
"How are we doing this?"
"I don't know, but let's get that cannon!"
The team is excited and relieved, albeit confused how they finally combined. Voltron easily tears the ion cannon from the Galra warship and tosses it to the planet surface, then punches the Red Lion through the hull. Keith uses the Lion's mouth cannon to blast the inside of the warship, nearly blowing the ship in two. And leave it to Crystal to back them up again.
"Eat this!" Crystal does it again to aid the boys and Voltron.
Voltron does the same using the Green Lion, closer to Sendak and Haxus' positions, so they flee from the warship in an escape pod. The Paladins send Voltron flying through the ship's engines, causing the Galra warship to finally explode into a mass of flame and shrapnel.
"Good work, Paladins!" Allura was happy. "And you too, Crystal. See? Your powers are meant to use for good."
Seems so. Although Crystal is a mystery to her own and why Zarkon did it all to her, but she will fight back.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." she was happy. "I can get use to this.
The rest were happy too.
"Thanks, pretty lady." aid Lance.
Looks like Lance has a crush on Allura.
"We did it." said Shiro. "Thank you, Crystal."
"Heck yeah, we did." Keith was happy to thank Crystal too. "I might be in love..."
Allura and Coran happily greet the exhausted Paladins in front of the Castle of Lions.
"Thanks, Shiro. Thanks, Keith." Crystal said back. "You guys did great!"
The new Paladins are proud of themselves, but still lost as to how they managed to win.
"How did we do it?" Shiro wanted to know.
"I was just, like, screaming the whole time. Maybe that did it."
Who knows, Hunk, who knows...Pidge looks dejected at not finding the missing Holts, but Shiro assures that they will continue to search for Sam and Matt, and that Pidge's family would be proud of how far Pidge has come and the victory won today.
"We're not going to stop searching until we find your brother and father. Wherever they are, I know they'd be proud of you."
Pidge smiles from this reassurance. Allura then warns them that one victory will not be the end of things, as Zarkon will not stop until he claims all five Voltron Lions and Crystal's powers too. Much to the new Paladins' apprehension, Coran states they will have to form Voltron over and over to fight entire fleets of Galra spacecrafts, although they barely survived a single warship and have no clue how Voltron formed.
"We won the battle, but the war has only just begun. I'm afraid Zarkon will not stop until he gets these Lions and you too, Crystal."
She was aware already.
"I know..." she wasn't scared. "I will fight back no matter what he made me into of a human fighter. I will fight for justice. Count on it!"
Being part of the team lion or not, power from the heart counts the most.
"Good thing you Paladins know what you're doing, because you're going to have to form Voltron again and again." said Coran.
"Totally—Wait, what?" Hunk was lost.
"We barely survived forming Voltron this one time."
Still, one can never be too careful, Lance, remember that.
"And you only had to fight one ship. Wait until you have to fight a whole fleet of them! It's not going to be easy being the Defenders of the Universe."
However, Coran tells them that being the 'Defenders of the Universe' will not be an easy task, and this title catches their attention. Hey I like it too and Crystal does too.
"Defenders of the Universe, huh? That's got a nice ring to it." Shiro said.
The Paladins all turn to their Lions; Shiro thinks the title has a nice ring to it, and the smiles on the faces of his fellow Paladins show they think the same.
"Yeah..." same with Crystal as well to hold on to her new weapon, her body glows up again, sees everyone to be friends with 'even the four mice', and the lions to understand her too to be alive and real to like her a lot. "Me too, Shiro, me too. (I think I'm starting to like everyone else here even Shiro.)"
Well, what do you guys think? This is how I make my stories so please understand like you all do on your ends. So...This was only the beginning of everything to save the entire galaxy and such for Crystal Stars to become something more powerful to aid Coran, Allura, Keith, Shiro, Pidge, Hunk, Lance, the mice, and Voltron of the five lions. Of Voltron: Legendary Defenders and/or Defenders of the Universe. More to come next time! :D
