"Hey, is everything okay love?" "No Brian it's not okay. But you have to listen don't say anything or get upset or jump to conclusions, because what I am about to tell you is gonna make you wanna set the world on fire. So promise me Brian, promise me." "Oh god, this is serious. Okay, I promise."
Olivia took a deep breath before she decided to finally speak. "So uh... when uh..." "Hey, it's okay just talk to me." "I just don't want to upset you or hurt you with this." "Hey, hey don't worry about me, I'm okay, I'll be okay."
"So do you remember about a year and a half ago when Elliot and I went undercover into that sex trafficking ring?" "Yea I remember that." "So uh one night I um was trying to get some information from Elliot and Griffin walked in on us talking."
Brian grabbed her hand for reassurance and to comfort her. "So he got suspicious of what was going on, and you know when you're undercover you have to do anything to keep your cover." "Right.?." Brian said in a confused manner. "So Elliot told Griffin that I had misbehaved earlier and he was about to deal with me. Then uh Griffin said that he would do it, and Elliot insisted to let him do it, but Griffin wasn't giving up so eventually Elliot did. And he uh." Olivia started to tear up again.
Brian rubbed his thumb across the top of her hand. "So he started by slapping me around and punching me and when I fell to the floor he would kick me. And I screamed for Elliot to help me and he walked over and told Griffin that he thought that I learned my lesson and he could stop now, and he shoved Elliot to the wall and told him he would be next if he tried to get in his way again. And then he started to uh... he umm... he tried to..." Olivia had started crying again and couldn't get her words out without stuttering."
"Aww I got you baby, just breathe." Brian said as he pulled her to him to hug her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he held her head and stroked her back to soothe her. He got her calm and she could talk again. "Hey, do you want me to go make you some tea?" "Yes. Thank you."
Brian got up to go to the kitchen. "WAIT!!" "What is it?" "I want to come with you. Please don't leave me here by myself." Brian walked back to the bed to get Olivia. He put his hand out for Olivia to grab. "Come on baby." She took his hand and got out of the bed. "Thank you for waiting on me Bri." "Anything for you Liv."
They walked to the kitchen together and Olivia held his hand the whole way there. "Hey Liv." "Yea?" "I kinda need my other hand to make the tea." "No! I'll help you. Don't let go." "Okay, I won't." So they made tea and went and sat on the couch. Brian lead the way because Olivia was still holding his hand.
"Do you feel better now, baby?" "Yes I do. I think I'm ready to talk again." "Just take your time, no rush."
"So after he shoved Elliot to the wall he lifted up my skirt, and he took my underwear off. Then he unbuckled his belt and started to take his pants off, and then he put himself inside me."
Brian took the cup from her hand and put it on the table and scooted closer to her and he wrapped his arm around her. "I'm so sorry Liv, I wish I would've known." "I didn't want you to know. I didn't want you to get upset." "Hey, none of this is your fault, I'm not upset with you at all."
"He started raping me, and I would not stop screaming, so he told Elliot since he had come to punish me anyway so he could do me instead. He wasn't in me for long but he was hurting be so bad and I was screaming the entire time. It was the longest 15 minutes of my life, it felt like forever. Elliot agreed and asked him if he could do it without him there, and Griffin said you can either let me do her and you watch or it's gonna be the other way around, but nobody was leaving till I got what I deserved."
Tears started rolling down Brian's face. She took him in a hug and kissed his forehead. "Hey, it already happened and I'm okay." "Yeah, yeah I know but he still hurt you." "If you want me to wait I'll tell you the rest in the morning." "No I'm fine let's go ahead and get this conversation over with."
"Well Elliot took off his pants and kneeled down next to me and he asked me if I was okay and if I wanted him to do it or not. And I told him yes because I knew he wouldn't hurt me. So Elliot fucked me in front of Griffin. Elliot hated every minute of it."
Olivia started to cry. "Baby, I understand I'm not mad at you or him, as long as he didn't hurt you it's okay, you had to for the job." "I know but that's not why I'm upset." "What is it then?" "Oh Brian..." "Liv nothing you can say now can hurt me." "But you don't know what I'm gonna say."
Olivia just kept crying. She couldn't bring herself to tell him about Noah. Olivia started thinking what if he's mad at me? What if he leaves me? I can't be alone now. "Hey, if you don't want to talk about this anymore you don't have to. Liv?"
"Huh? Oh yea I know but since you proposed I want to be sure." "Be sure of what? Liv it's okay I'm not upset." "Not yet." "Olivia listen to me okay. Whatever you need to say or do to get through this I'm right here and noting you say or do at this point is going to hurt me anymore. I love you with everything in me and I want you to know that. So whatever we have to do to get through this we'll do."
"Are you sure? I mean a lot happened to me then Brian." "Olivia Benson, I love you and I'm not going anywhere. So please talk to me."
Olivia took a few deep breaths to calm herself so she could talk again. "Okay. Since you proposed I think we should get Noah's DNA tested. I didn't cheat or anything I just think what happened while I was undercover I owe it to you and Elliot and most of all myself. It doesn't change anything for me if he is Elliot's, but I've been thinking about it a lot recently since we have been getting serious and I just want to know."
Brian doesn't know what to say. Did she really just say that? Is it possible? It does make sense but...
"Brian?" "Hmm?" "Look if you don't want to we don't have to, I was just thinking if we're gonna get married and make this permanent I want to know who's Noah really is. It won't make a difference though and we don't ever have to tell him."
Brian still hasn't said anything. "I knew I shouldn't have said anything. I knew you were gonna be upset. And now you.." She was cut off by Brian. "No. I'm not upset. I'm the opposite actually, out of all the things you've said tonight I think that's the best one." "Huh? I'm confused, I thought that was gonna make you mad." "Why? That shows that you care enough about our relationship to find out the truth even though it could mean that our baby isn't our baby." "Really?" "Of course Liv we can set up an appointment tomorrow if you want to."
Olivia starts to cry again. "What's the matter baby? Is there more?" "No that's all." She says in a stutter. He pulls her into half a hug. "Then why are you crying again?" "I'm just happy. You took everything so well and that took a lot of stress off me." "I want you to know you can always talk to me." "I know I can. I just get a little worried about how you're gonna react sometimes." "Well in the future try not to be okay. No matter what you wanna talk about I'm always here and I will always hear you out."
Olivia took a deep breath. Brian pulled her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around the back of his head. He put one arm around her back and the other on the back of her head. He stroked her hair for a minute then he pulled back a little and kissed her.
"What was that for?" "Oh nothing I just thought you needed it." This time she kissed him. "What was that for?" "Oh nothing I just thought you needed it."
"Whoo. Well I think I'm ready to go to back to bed now. What about you Livie?" "Yeah I am BUT..." "But what?" "Only if you carry me to the bed." "No I'm not doing that." He says in a kinda playful manner. "Awe peas? I forgoted how to walk." She said in a baby voice.
"Oh okay. But only this once." "Yay!!" He stood up then leans down to carry her bridal style to the bed. He walked into the bedroom and tossed her on the bed. "Hey where you going?" "I gotta shut the door." "Oh right."
They laugh as they settle into their snuggled sleeping positions. Liv slid her backside into the curve Brian made with his body. He wrapped his arm across her and she held his hand. She kissed to top of his hand.
"Hey Bri?" "Yes love?" "Thank you." "For what?" "Everything you did for me tonight, and all the time." "That's what I'm here for. And know I don't ever mind doing things for you whenever you need it."I love you so much Brian." "I love you even more than you love me." "Oh I don't think that's possible." "Oh but it is because I do."
"Goodnight baby." "Goodnight love." He says and then kisses the back of her head before he closes his eyes and falls asleep. Liv smiles as she closes her eyes and goes to sleep." She feels a lot better now that Brian knows everything. Brian feels kind of disappointed. Not in her or Elliot, but in himself because he feels like he should've done more to protect her. Even though he also knows there isn't anything else he could've done.
The sun shines through the window in Olivia and Brian's bedroom. Olivia wakes up and looks around for Brian, but doesn't see him anywhere. She starts to panic. "Brian!" She yells from the bed. "Brian where are you?" She hears nothing.
She gets out of bed and slips into some sweatpants that were laying on the floor and went to look for Brian. She goes to the living room and she doesn't see him, but his phone is on the coffee table. He doesn't go anywhere without his phone. Where is he? She walks through the entire apartment and when she go to the back she heard the shower in the guest bathroom was on. What the? She knocked on the door. "Brian? Are you in there?"
Suddenly the water stopped. She heard someone from the other side of the door. Then the door opened. Standing there was Brian with a towel around his waist. "Liv? Is everything okay?" "Yeah everything's fine I just woke up and you weren't in the bed and I couldn't find you." "I'm sorry if I scared you I just didn't want to wake you up." "Oh no it's fine I'm fine. I'll let you get dressed." "Okay baby."
Brian shuts the door and she walks to the kitchen. She made them coffee and sat down on the couch and set the cups on the coffee table. Brian got dressed and came to sit down with Liv on the couch. "Thank you for making coffee for me." "You're welcome Bri."
He takes a sip. "Mmm. Have you talked to Lucy yet?" "Uh no not yet. Actually I wanted to make an appointment for Noah first." "Okay. I'll go get your phone for you." "Thanks. It's on my nightstand." "Okay."
Brian got up to go get Olivia's phone from the bedroom. Olivia took a deep breath. It'll be fine. I'm sure he's Brian's. I really hope so anyway. Brian came back with Olivia's phone.
"Okay. I got yourphone." He hands Olivia her phone that way she can make anappointment to get Noah's DNA tested.
"Wait Liv before you do this I want to make sure of something." "What's that?" "If Noah isn't mine..." "Look Brian I've already said this, even if he isn't yours it doesn't change anything. We're still going to get married and he's still gonna be OUR son. Okay?" "Okay."
"Okay thank you. Bye." Olivia hangs up the phone. "Okay well I better call Cragen and let him know that I'll be late coming in tomorrow." "Alright well go call Cragen and I'll go call Lucy and let her know that we're gonna come get Noah." "K."
5 minutes later.
"Hey Bri." She yells from the bedroom. "Yea?" "I need to change before we go to get Noah." "Okay go ahead and change we're not in a hurry."
Olivia changes into some jeans and one of Brian's NYPD Academy shirts. She tucks the front of the into her jeans right behind the button. She walks out of the bedroom and Brian has his uniform on, and he is sitting at the bar eating some cheesecake they had brought home from the restaurant the night before.
"Aww do you have to work?" "Yeah I have to go in tonight." "Oh okay." She says sadly and walks towards him.
She spins the barstool around and gives him a hug. But while she is giving him a hug she reaches behind him and gets his fork and starts eating his cheesecake.
"What are you doing?" "I'm just giving you a hug." Although her mouth was full when she said that.
"Heyyyyyyy you're eating my food." "Soooo?" He pulls away from her and takes the fork back. "There's more in the fridge you know." "Yeah I know, but your's is better." "It's fine you can have the rest of you want." "Thanks!"
She finishes the cheesecake and they leave to pick up Noah.
Lucy'shouse
They arrive at Lucy's to get Noah.
"Thank you so much for watching him Lucy." "Of course Brian anytime. So did you ask her?" "Yes." "I didn't see a ring." "She wants to make a big public announcement with everyone there at once." "Oh ok."
Olivia came from the back with Noah in her arms and his diaper bag on her shoulder. "What you guys talking about?" "Oh nothing I was just telling Lucy that you were going to be a little later than usual because we had some things to do in the morning." Oh ok."
"Here let me get that from you baby." Brian walks to her and he grabs the bag from her shoulder. "Thanks!" They say bye to Lucy and go back home.
The apartment
They get inside and Noah started crying. "Mommy he was babbling and trying to say." "Hold on baby, mommy's trying." He started crying even louder.
"Brian can you try and calm him down." She yells from the kitchen. "Yea I'm coming." He comes to the living room and picks he up out of his play pen. "Hey shh shh it's okay baby daddy's got you." He calms down a bit but is still trying to babble out mommy and is still crying a little.
Olivia comes out the kitchen and takes Noah from Brian. "Okay okay, mommy's here now." She starts feeling him his bottle and goes to the bedroom. Brian follows her and sits on the bed next to her.
"I can feed him if you want." "Don't you need to be leaving?" "I don't have to be at work until 5:00." "Babe it's almost 4:30. I got it go eat." "No I'm not hungry let me see him." "Okay thanks." She gives Noah to him and Brian sits on the bed and feeds him.
Olivia gets up to go to the bathroom. "So what time are you gonna be home?" She yells from the bathroom. "Probably about 1 or 2." "Okay."
She comes out of the bathroom and she has taken off her socks, shoes, bra, and her pants. She starts looking around the room. "Have you seen my sweatpants?" "Uh no I haven't." "Okay."
She gives up and climbs back in the bed. She slides next to him and lays her head on his shoulder and falls asleep within about 5 minutes.
Brian kept feeding Noah till he fell asleep. He put him next to Liv, tucked them both in and left.
The next morning.
Olivia and Brian both woke up as nervous as ever but of course wouldn't tell each other. They got dressed and went to the Doctor's office.
When they arrived they were able to go straight back to the room. The doctor came in, took their DNA and Olivia game the doctor Elliot's sample he had given her a few days ago when he figured out she was going to go have this done.
About 20 minutes later the doctor came back and handed Olivia the results. She unfolded the paper, read the results and all she could do was cry...
