The Order: Vera and Hamish One shot

This scene is taking place in the 3 months before the Order acquires there stuff from Praxis. Vera has her magic and Hamish is getting sober.

I had to do at least one, they are my faves.

Ding ding. Hamish's phone went off as his final class of the day finished up. "I could use a drink. Meet me at my place."

Hamish immediately felt his body get warm. His escapades with Vera were exhilarating and she was honestly someone he could learn a lot from. The fact that she was teaching him was impressive, the bedroom was just an added bonus. He replied, "omw, should I pick anything up"

"No"

He headed to the car.

When he pulled in the drive he could see her on the deck. Her hair was down and she was wearing a blue dress, but she was barefoot and peering at his car. He stepped out of his car and stood holding the door for a moment, peering at the elegant woman.

Vera smirked at him. She headed inside.

Hamish quickly closed his car door and approached the door to the house. He quite liked the architecture and large windows of the home. He tried the handle and the door was unlocked. Made sense, since she literally saw him standing there.

"Come in, sit down," Vera said. She went to her fridge and Hamish approached the stools at her kitchen island. "I have water, and a nonalcoholic sparkling blush wine."

"I'd love to try the blush wine. I'm surprised you bother to have nonalcoholic options."

"Well I intended to have you over and I'd noticed you doing a lot of cleaning of the stemware, but not a lot of using of the stemware, so I picked it up to be a good host."

Hamish smiled. He liked that she paid attention to what he did. He wasn't even sure if his friends realized he wasn't drinking at this point. Either way he thanked Vera for the glass that was now in front of him and took a small sip to savor the flavor. "A little fruity for my taste, but I would love to mix it if I came over another time."

Hamish made eye contact with Vera. He knew that comment might be pushing his luck, but he was in a good mood. So was Vera apparently. She raised an eyebrow and the corners of her mouth raised just a bit.

"I have something for you." She pulled out a book from under the counter.

Hamish took the book from her and read the title, "History and basic recipes to standard coffee drinks around the world." Hamish smiled and looked up at her. "Combining my newfound love of coffee with my passion for history. This is an excellent gift, thank you." Hamish stood on the foot rest of the stool, reached over the counter, and breathed a kiss onto Vera's cheekbone while placing a hand on the nape of her neck. He pulled back and met her bright eyes.

"I mean it. This is an excellent gift."

"Good. Hopefully it will be a good luck gift with your thesis paper coming up to be reviewed soon. If you're interested I was hoping you could make me something to drink in the morning," she said, smiling a full smile now and pushing her nose against his.

"I think that can be arranged."
