Note: Welp, I'm returning to this story. I really get myself busy when I write stuff like this, don't I? Anyway, before we move on, I want to say something to a reviewer.

The White Wolf named Alex: Thanks. And I made Opal like that to give the audience someone to despise. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy the story.

Okay, let's get on with it.

Chapter 2: Fox Meets Krystal

Meanwhile, at the Great Fox, Star Fox was taking a break. It had been two months since the demise of Andross, and they were told to relax for the time being. After all, it was a devastating war in the Lylat System. Many lives were lost, but Venom was defeated in the process. Despite that, Star Wolf had not been captured by the Cornerian Army yet. In addition to that, Falco Lombardi, a member of Star Fox, was down on Zoness on a mission. It seemed that life would never be the same again for the team.

That was until the Great Fox's communicator started beeping.

"What's that?" Slippy asked.

"We've got a message!" Peppy said as he went to the communicator.

"Is it from the General?" Fox asked.

"Yes." The hare answered.

"Gee, and it's been only two months after we kicked Venom's butt!" Slippy complained.

"I wonder what the call is about." Fox said.

Upon answering the call, Star Fox was greeted by General Pepper.

"Star Fox!" The General spoke. "If I'm interrupting something, I'm sorry, but we've got a new mission for you!"

"What is the new mission about, General?" Slippy asked.

"Remember when you boys had that mission on Sauria?" The hound dog asked.

"Yes," Peppy said, "what about Sauria?"

"The planet is falling apart!" He said.

A diagram came up that displayed Sauria. To Star Fox's shock, the whole planet was fragmented into pieces, looking like it would come apart at any moment. To them, it was a miracle that Sauria was still together. It had been months since their recon mission on it, so they didn't expect the planet to look nearly destroyed. Slippy himself gasped as he saw the diagram. General Pepper then took it down, facing Star Fox again.

"Did you see it, boys?" He asked.

"Yes," Fox said, "no doubt that Venom is the cause of it!"

"Incorrect," Pepper said, "there is no proof of Venom having anything to do with Sauria's current state. In fact, I want you to go down to Sauria and investigate what's going on."

"All three of us or just Fox?" Slippy asked.

"It doesn't matter who goes down, just remember that you need to save Sauria until it's too late!" The hound dog said.

"Don't worry, we can do it!" Fox said.

"Good, just be sure to not hurt the peaceful wildlife!" The General said before he hung up. After that, the team went to the docking bay of the Great Fox, approaching their Arwings.

"Which of us is going to go down there?" Slippy asked.

"I guess I'll go." Fox said.

"Are you sure about this, Fox?" Peppy asked.

"Don't worry," the vulpine said, "I'll give you guys a call when I have progress or need your help."

"Okay." Slippy said.

"See you when you need us, Fox!" Peppy said as the vulpine got into his Arwing.

"As will I!" Fox said before taking flight, closing the windows of the Arwing. After that, he flew to Sauria, occasionally shooting a few asteroids that got in his way. Once the planet was in view, the vulpine flew down to the surface, hoping to land in a place that was not too dangerous for his Arwing.

I hope that this mission is worth it. Fox thought to himself.

Down on Sauria, Krystal had convinced the EarthWalkers and the CloudRunners to form resistance groups to oppose the SharpClaws in ThornTail Hollow. A SharpClaw squadron was being sent out, so the cobalt vixen had her staff ready for battle. Prior to hearing about the squadron from Kyte, she had some EarthWalkers overlook a cliff to see when they were coming. They agreed to it, saying that the Cerinian could count on them. It had been five minutes, so Krystal hadn't heard from them yet. Despite that, she was ready to fight, keeping her staff close.

All of a sudden, there was a noise from deep within the woods. Krystal's ears perked up, picking up the sound. It didn't sound like anything native to this planet. In fact, it sounded like a blaster, followed by collapsing.

"Krystal," one of the EarthWalkers shouted, "there's someone killing the SharpClaws!"

"I figured!" Krystal shouted back.

"Shall we attack whoever is killing the SharpClaws?" Tricky asked as he came up to Krystal.

"No," the cobalt vixen said to him, "we don't know what we're dealing with yet. I can use my telepathy to sense for him."

"Go ahead." The Prince of the EarthWalkers said.

Krystal focused, using her telepathy to see who was fighting the SharpClaw squadron. To her surprise, it was an orange tod who was hiding in the trees while occasionally firing his blaster at the SharpClaws. The cobalt vixen had never seen anyone like him before, so she assumed that he was from another planet, possibly Corneria: another planet that she hoped to visit. She didn't have time to think about the vulpine, as he became surrounded by more SharpClaws. As soon as that happened, Krystal could hear his thoughts.

Damn! The natives on Sauria have gotten sour since the last time I visited the planet with my team.

Seeing as he might get overwhelmed or even killed, Krystal readied her staff and looked at the EarthWalkers.

"Everyone," she spoke, "I'm going to help the man in the woods fight off the SharpClaws!"

"Be careful, Krystal!" Queen EarthWalker warned.

"I will!" The cobalt vixen said prior to running into the woods. Once she entered, she saw the orange tod struggling to hold off the attacking SharpClaws. With no time to spare, she fired blasts from her staff, decapitating two of the SharpClaws. After that, she engaged another one in a battle, disarming him of his weapon before blasting a hole through him. With her telepathy, Krystal was able to prevent her opponents from stopping her, even when they knocked out the tod. In under a few minutes, she had killed the SharpClaws who hadn't already been killed by the male who came to the planet.

Fox got up from the ground, rubbing his head in order to soothe the pain from the blow to the head he took from a SharpClaw. Opening his eyes, the vulpine saw a cobalt vixen standing in front of him. This girl was wearing a bra, a loincloth, shoulder pads, a backpack, and sandals. In addition, she was holding a gilded staff with a gem on it. Instead of asking her who she was, Fox got up and pointed his blaster at the vixen.

"Hey, I saved you from those SharpClaws!" Krystal said. "Did you want me to leave you to get captured or killed by them?!"

"I could have handled myself, you know." Fox said, still holding his blaster.

"Was getting knocked out and left at the mercy of the SharpClaws part of your plan?" The girl asked.

"Well, my teammates can bail me out if I get captured." The tod said. "All I need to do is send a transmission to them."

"Even if your captors let you keep your blaster?" She asked.

"Enough questions," he shouted, "just drop your weapon!"

Before Fox knew it, the vixen knocked his blaster out of his hands with her staff. She then approached him, pointing the staff at him.

"Can you follow orders?" Fox asked.

"Yes." Krystal said, looking at him with an expression that slowly turned into an angry one. "Do you think I'm stupid?"

Fox tried to walk away to get his blaster, but he got his foot caught in a rope that lifted him into the air. Once he was upside down, the tod saw the vixen looking at him.

This isn't something I wanted to go through when I arrived on Sauria! Fox thought to himself. Not only did I get surrounded by a couple of enemies who beat me down when they overwhelmed me, but I got my blaster knocked out of my hands by another native with her staff, and now I'm hanging upside down. Yeah, I see you. Damn, you have pretty eyes.

"I'm not actually a native to Sauria, if you couldn't tell." Krystal spoke.

Wait, how did she know what I was thinking? Fox thought to himself.

"Well, you're dressed in clothes that are native to this planet." He said as he loosened the rope on his foot.

"The EarthWalkers gave me these clothes so that I wouldn't get heatstroke on Sauria." The vixen stated.

"That, adding to the fact my team and I have never seen anyone like you on Sauria before, explains a lot." The tod said as he freed himself of the rope. However, this caused him to fall to the ground, albeit without getting injured. Once he got up, Fox went over to the vixen and grabbed her arm.

"That hurts!" She said. "C'mon, I saved you from the SharpClaw squadron that was coming to the village I'm living in! The least you could do is be grateful!"

"Sure," Fox chuckled, "be grateful that you didn't scalp me!"

All of a sudden, Krystal flattened her hand and swung her arm towards Fox.

"Let me go!" She shouted as she slapped him. Once he was on the ground again, Fox found himself being grabbed by his shirt collar.

"Do you really think that I'm a savage because I live on Sauria now?" Krystal spoke. "If anything, you're the savage since you acted harsh towards me for saving your life, pulling your weapon out on me, and for grabbing me by my arm."

"Alright, I'm sorry." Fox said, not wanting the encounter to end violently.

"Apology accepted." The cobalt vixen said as she let go of his shirt collar.

"I was just doing my duty." The tod stated. "I didn't mean to insult you. I guess I've just been on edge, especially with what happened to my father."

"Sorry to hear about that."

"You weren't there, so it's okay."

"Might I ask your name, ma'am."

"I'm Krystal Bodimead, former Princess of Cerinia. And you are?"

"Fox McCloud, leader of Star Fox."

All of a sudden, Tricky ran up to Krystal and Fox.

"Krystal, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yes," Krystal said, "I was just talking to Fox."

"Is that the man near you?" Tricky asked.

"Indeed." The cobalt vixen said.

"Nice to meet you, little guy." Fox said, somewhat uneasy by the young EarthWalker's presence.

"I'm Prince Tricky of the EarthWalkers, sir." The adolescent bowed.

"I can even have you speak with the Queen sometime." Krystal said to Fox. "But, we need to work on saving Sauria. Come now, I'll take you to see WarpStone."

"And he is?" Fox asked.

"The guy who teleports the inhabitants of this planet to alternate areas." The cobalt vixen stated.

"For someone who isn't a native of this planet, you sure know a LOT about it." The tod said. "How long have you been on here?"

"Four months, from late April to now." She said.

"With that in mind, don't you have a ship that can get you out of here?" He asked.

"I came to Sauria in a ship, but it's only purpose was to bring me here, as it died when I landed in ThornTail Hollow. It didn't even have flares or anything that I could use to call for help. After a few minutes of arrival, I decided to live here."

After a few minutes, Krystal and Fox found themselves at the end of ThornTail Hollow and near WarpStone. Before either of them could speak to him, Fox's communicator rang.

"I gotta take this." Fox said.

"Go ahead." Krystal told him.

Stepping away from the cobalt vixen, Fox answered his communicator, being greeted by Peppy.

"Fox, thank goodness you're okay!" Peppy said.

"Yeah," Fox said, "but I still have yet to learn what's destroying Sauria. However, I met this girl named Krystal. I thought that she was a native, but it turns out that she's from a planet called Cerinia."

"Cerinia?" The hare spoke. "That planet used to have a good relation with the other planets in the Lylat System. However, nearly twenty years ago, the King attempted to sever ties with the other planets. As such, people from planets such as Corneria rarely came to it. It got destroyed a few months ago, though."

"No doubt by Andross' forces." The tod said. "It's a good thing we stopped him before he destroyed any other planets."

"Fox," Krystal said as she approached him, "WarpStone is waiting on us."

"I'll talk to you later." The orange vulpine said before hanging up. After that, he went towards WarpStone with Krystal, looking at the sentient boulder with astonishment.

"Why," WarpStone spoke, "Krystal, who is the wee lad you've got with you?"

"He's someone who will help to save Sauria: Fox McCloud." Krystal said as she gestured to Fox.

"Nice to meet you, I guess." Fox smiled, being somewhat uneasy.

"Yer both in luck, lad and lass," WarpStone said, "as I will transport you to where a SpellStone has been found."

"SpellStone?" Fox asked.

"I'll explain later." Krystal whispered to him.

Fox and Krystal were about to climb onto WarpStone's hands, until Tricky came up to them.

"Can I go with you guys?" Tricky asked.

"Tricky, you might get hurt." Krystal told him. "Besides, your mother would be furious with me, not to mention Fox."

"I'll stay out of trouble, I promise!" The EarthWalker said.

"Okay, you can come with us." The cobalt vixen said, helping her friend onto WarpStone's hands.

"This might be fun." Fox said to himself.

"Alright, WarpStone, we're ready!" Krystal said.

"Very well," WarpStone spoke, "here we go!"

Without warning, Fox found himself being transported to another area. When he looked at Krystal and Tricky, he saw that they didn't look bothered, as if they had done this multiple times before. The tod closed his eyes, hoping that where they were going was somewhere good. Once he felt his feet touch the ground again, he saw that he was in a snowy area that didn't look like it had any present threats. In front of him were Krystal and Tricky.

"What is this place?" Fox asked.

"SnowHorn Wastes." Krystal answered. "I've been here a few times."

"And it's where the first SpellStone is." Tricky added.

"When shall we start looking?" The tod asked.

"Follow me," the cobalt vixen said, "my telepathy will notify us on any threats who come our way."

Somewhat reluctant, Fox began to follow Krystal and Tricky, seeing as they knew areas of Sauria that even he and his team didn't know.

Note: And we're just getting warmed up, people. I apologize for making Fox and Krystal's first meeting slightly antagonistic. I've been checking out The_Other_Black_bear's/Blackbear972's comic showing his own version of Adventures. While I admit that it's not my favorite Star Fox webcomic at the moment, I admit that it's pretty good. Anyway, like in the original version of Adventures, Falco is not with the team at the moment, but I added that he was on a mission down on Zoness. Given how the time skip has been shortened from eight years to two months, it's a safe bet that his mission is easier to accomplish. Also, I apologize if I keep forgetting the names of certain areas on Sauria, I have yet to actually get a GameCube and a copy of Adventures. Despite that, I hope that all of you like the story. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
