Heya guys!

So, this is gonna be quite sappy, but I just wanted to say how happy and thankful I am to be receiving the support you're giving this story, whether that be through favouriting it or leaving a positive comment on it (or just reading it, really).

Honestly, it means a lot to me that people are genuinely enjoying it- even more so because I'm so new to publishing my own works on a public platform like this.

I was thoroughly surprised for this fic to be getting some traction already given how, not only is it my first one, but I had posted just one chapter. So, that definitely got me excited!

Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I hope you all continue to read and enjoy my stories.

But that's enough about me, so, enjoy!

Mothra stared intently at the calm waters, basking in the warmth of the early sun. She could sense every bit of the world on that peaceful morning: the slight breeze that blew against her small frame, the radiance of the bright sunlight brought about by the timely-risen sun, and the gradual stirs of life that had started waking up among their island, much to her pleasure.

Honestly, such a sight was one she would never get tired of. Others, who would have lived as long as she had, would have bat an eye at the stirring of a new day, or would just plainly not even realise it. But definitely not her. She would always be grateful to live another day upon the earth, and made sure she would experience everyday to the fullest- never would she take it for granted. She supposed such a way of thinking came with her position as the guardian of all life. For everyday the sun would rise, for every new day that came, it would mean a day to protect and appreciate the things she truly loved- the lives she had come to appreciate and care for. A promise- she had made to herself- that motivated her through her long life.

But, as much as she wanted to, she couldn't continue to dwell amongst her thoughts, nor relax for any much longer. There was something important that needed to be done and took priority before anything else. And one, she hoped, her King could witness and be there by her side. Focusing on her task, she turned away from the peaceful sight and crawled her way back into the cave. Unfortunately, the site she was greeted with reminded her of her rather annoying but frequent predicament she had come accustomed to over the years she had known him.

"Gojira…"

She made her way over to his head, staring at his closed eyes, and watching his sleeping form occasionally move to better comfort himself. Despite the quiet nature within her voice, there was a firmness of authority within it. Coupled with some slight irritation, it would have been wise to heed the Goddesses call. Sadly, it was met upon deaf ears, as her voice had quickly been drowned out by the snores of Godzilla, still heavily deep in his slumber.

In contrast to her, Godzilla would often spend as much time sleeping as he possibly could, which was understandable- to keep mighty Titans in check as well as keep the natural order at balance was no easy task, but was a task a King like him must do. But surely, she thought, surely on a peaceful morning like this, he could at least make some effort to enjoy it with her. In fact, it had been a nightmare to be released from his grasp when she had woken up. It was near impossible to wake him up in the early morning, and his tight hold on her made it an even greater struggle for her to start the day. The gesture was something she found quite annoying, but strangely sweet- a feeling she was used to in the morning the longer she slept by his side, as if protecting her even as he slept.

But now wasn't the time to be complimenting his nobility, now was the time for him to wake up! And the Goddess was soon reaching her limit- an unwise thing to make her do. She prodded at his resting head with her many forelimbs, trying to stir an ounce of spirit to wake up from his dormant form. Finally, after all her struggles, slight movement of uneasiness started to come forth from Godzilla, in turn, fueling Mothra to continue with her advances. It wasn't enough, and she started to grow tired of his shenanigans.

"Gojira. Wake up. Now."

Somehow, there wasn't a hint of anger in her voice. She could never truly be angry at her King. There was only a calm, serious and authoritarian emotion that punctuated each word as she spoke. Though she was a benevolent being, she wouldn't hesitate to start changing her tone of voice into a more commanding one should she view the situation in need of it- and The King of the Monsters, in here eyes, was no exception.

Surely enough, instinctively unable to resist her call, the King stirred in his sleep until a gruff breath from his nostrils, followed by a powerful, almost cat-like yawn escaped him. Much to her delight, Mothra found she was finally staring into his golden eyes. Any trace of her commanding authority on her face quickly melted into her usual bright and caring stare.

"...Mosura?" Godzilla spoke, blinking away the tiredness in his eyes and quickly focusing his vision on her. When he awoke, he wasn't in the best of mood- a usually grumpiness was to be expected (by anyone, really) when he was forcefully woken up. But, the moment he realised it was her, the scowl on his face quickly calmed down and settled.

If it was anyone else besides her, most likely, they would have been dead.

"Good morning, my King." she spoke softly, coming close to his snout and resting her head amongst it.

"Good morning, Mosura." Godzilla replied, a small smile beginning to form as he gently brushed his snout against her head, both taking a moment to nuzzle and embrace in each others company. An act both had unspeakably committed to as part of their morning routine whenever they would be together.

"Come now, Gojira," Mothra said, laying her claws against his face, eager to indulge him in her plans for the morning, "whilst it is early in the day, we mustn't waste any more time".

"Just give me five more minutes, please." Godzilla tiredly replied in a (strangely) pleading tone. He had already started sinking to the cave floor and was struggling to keep his eyes open. He cherished Mothra with all his heart and would always make sure to listen to what she had to say, but five more minutes of rest surely couldn't hurt, could it?

"I'm afraid not, my friend," she hastily interjected, somehow preventing the King's head from laying down on the floor, even with her tiny claws. She was sure the moment his head would do so, it would take another couple of hours before he would wake up again, "I dedicated too much time trying to awake you from your slumber, and I want to make sure you will be there when I fully form, ready to fly, as opposed to continued crawling for the rest of the day."

Once again, Godzilla gave in to her requests, feeling a twinge of embarrassment when she had confronted him on his sleep, something that she had described in the past as his 'bad habit.'

"Alright, I'm up, Mosu." Godzilla yawned, finally standing up and stretching the remaining tiredness away slowly and carefully. But then a confused look came on his face, unsure of the last remark she had made. "Sorry, what was that you said?"

Like the night before, a gentle shade of pink shimmered gently through Mothra's plates as she broke eye contact with him and looked down to the cave floor.

"I said that I had wished for you to be there when I fully form, so that I could spend the rest of the day in my true form rather than as a larvae," she said, in a more timid voice than usual, "And I woke you up in hopes that you would accompany me to the grounds I wish to cocoon myself in."

She looked back up to him, a warm smile forming on her face as her bright, blue eyes sparkled- an enchanting gaze staring into his eyes. "I would feel more secure and at ease if you were there by my side."

Finally, it was Godzilla's turn to emit a faint, pinkish glow from his dorsal plates, unnoticeable from both of them and the world. It was a rare thing for the mighty King to display embarrassment to such a level- rare, but not unheard of. Especial when he was alone with her.

"Uh, well, when you put it like that," Godzilla mumbled, resting the palm of his hand behind his head and turning away from her sheepishly, "Let's go right now."

With a burst of energy, the two Titan's exited from the cave and made their way through the sandy beach towards the water.

"You got an idea of where you want to go?" Godzilla inquired, submerging his body into the warm water. Gradually, he went deeper until he got to the point where the ocean could accommodate his massive body laying horizontally in the water, preparing to swim.

"There's a beautiful waterfall due North to this island," Mothra answered, carefully climbing on the King's back, avoiding his sharp dorsal plates and allowing herself to rest atop his head, "I believe it's the perfect destination that would be best to accommodate the both of us, for the meantime."

"A waterfall again?", the King retorted, his eyes looking upwards to Mothra as he chuckled slightly, "You're quite fond of those places, aren't you? Would you not like to try somewhere else?"

She giggled back at him, a wondrous action he loved to hear. "Everyone has their preferences, Goji. And it just so happens I hold waterfalls in a much higher regard then anywhere else."

The King slowly started to swim further into the water, making sure his head was still surfaced, and keeping his balance so as to keep her comfortable. "Whatever you say," Godzilla replied back, "I'll follow your lead."

Happy at his compliance, Mothra closed her eyes and sank her body deeper into his head, her limbs sagging down in a relaxed and comfortable manner. "Thank you." she whispered against his ear.

After smiling back at her (and with the pink glow emitting from his spines slightly getting brighter), Godzilla drew his eyes off her and started to swam forward, feeling the gentle water part ways as he moved.

He would follow her anywhere.

It didn't take long to reach the island Mothra was talking about- a quaint island near the country of Japan, but fortunately far enough to be left undisturbed. They had carefully made their way through the island, with Godzilla struggling- and somewhat failing- to not destroy any of the greenery that surrounded them (much to Mothra's amusement) as they waded their way deeper into the island. Of course, Monarch drones had followed them ever since they had departed from their island. And despite Mothra's advice to leave them be, Godzilla couldn't help but swat away any of the drones with his tail when they had (inevitably) gotten a little too close to him. It was annoying- for both parties- but expected nonetheless.

When they reached their destination, both took their time to gaze at the waterfall. It truly was beautiful, as Mothra had said. From the rushing water cascading down from the highest peak on the island, to the bright greenery that encompassed the waterfall- showing that the life of nature was not just alive, but thriving. Something they were both extremely happy about. But as quickly as they arrived, Godzilla and Mothra were preparing for what was soon to come, albeit in their own way.

Whilst Mothra had finished fitting her body into the surprisingly large cave behind the waterfall, Godzilla laid himself down a distance away from it and was making sure that they could both have a clear view of each other. Often times when she was carefully weaving the silk she spat as to make her cocoon, she would have to call a light shrill whenever she would look back at Godzilla and find him with his head down on the grass and his eyes closed. Fortunately (for him), he would respond with a soft roar as to ensure her that he was not sleeping. He had promised her on their way here, that he wouldn't fall back to sleep so as to be able to witness her emerge from her cocoon. But simply resting his eyes, he thought, wouldn't be that big of a deal. Surely not.

Now, after Mothra had completed her cocoon, and waited inside it until her transformation was complete, Godzilla found he couldn't take his eyes of it. The serine quietness and stillness of the island had left him excited and watchful. Almost catlike was the King, resting gently against the floor of the island, but ready to spring into action at anything that would dare try to harm her as she was resting. The mechanical whirs of Monarch's drones that had continued to monitor him, had longed been drowned out and ignored. The King, with his watchful and protectful gaze, stared intently at the waterfall.

Soon enough, hours had gone by on the island, the sun still high up in the sky, sharing its warmth to the inhabitants of the island below. Godzilla, after some time, had broken eye contact with the waterfall, and was left resting his head amongst the ground- a calm yet sombre heart beating within his chest. However, quickly perking up his head, Godzilla returned his gaze to the rushing water and snapped out of his aloof state. His once steady heartbeat elevated to a fast rhythm, and his eyes widened into surprise as he slowly stood up from where he was resting. He sensed her presence within the waterfall growing at a rapid rate, the increasing glowing of blue light further confirming his suspicions.

He watched with a warm and growing smile as the water vibrated against the walls of the waterfall as the cocoon pulsated within it. The other creatures of the island were left still and quiet, whilst the ocean's waves had calmed down to a standstill. Even the harsh winds that was accompanying Godzilla as he waited had trickled down to an elegant breeze. It was as if the world was waiting in anticipation with the King for the momentous occasion.

And not a second more was added on to this anticipation. Slowly, a long and graceful limb exited the waterfall, parting the rushing water cascading downwards. From then on, the pulsating of blue light grew stronger and brighter as a large silhouette revealed itself from behind the curtain of water, carefully swaying at its sides as it moved forwards. She had definitely grown bigger, Godzilla realised, unable to look away from her elegant form and her wide eyes- eyes that shone a blue light that pierced through the water.

Then, the King was granted a sight he was most excited for- an aspect he had always loved about her that was unique to her true form.

Just before she could fully exit the waterfall, two enormous yet beautiful wings outstretched themselves, their motion causing the water to divert from their usually path and splash down on the grass surrounding them. They shimmered beautiful against the water, emphasising each delicate and precise pattern embroidered on the wings. Then, a mighty cry- calm, elegant and powerful- came from within the waterfall and echoed for miles on end, signalling to the world that she was indeed complete, that her rebirth was truly finished. This site was what the King had missed so dearly. And one he was glad he didn't sleep through.

Finally, finishing her display, Mothra stepped forward and exited the confines of the waterfall, the steady stream of water slightly matting the newly-acquired fur on her body. Her mighty wings shivered as she shook off the excess water, and made her way over to where Godzilla had been watching. Brushing her feather-like antennae out of the way, Mothra stared upwards and glowed a serene blue, her eyes clearly conveying a sense of eagerness as to await the King's response to what he had seen.

"Beautiful." Godzilla simply stated, looking back and smiling at the beaming moth, the excitement and happiness clear as day on her face.

There wasn't much else needed to say. Without a moment too soon, Mothra flapped her wings, causing the surrounding trees and greenery to be slightly blown back. Quickly, the King found he was staring directly in front of himself as Mothra flew high enough so that their eyes were on the same level as each other. She brought her face close to his, clasping her claws against his head, the steady beating of her wings accompanying their tranquil moment together.

"Thank you, Goji, for being here with me." She whispered, smiling caringly as she gazed into his golden eyes.

Soon, she stopped the flapping of her wings, laying them down by her side as Godzilla's claws firmly grasped against her body, making sure he had a strong hold on her. With her- her true and beautiful form- now in his arms, he pulled her in a tight hug and rested his forehead against hers, relishing in the softness of her fur and sighing contently.

"I had forgotten how nice your fur felt." Godzilla complimented, his eyes closing as he happily nuzzling against her head. Feeling his rough scales mix with her soft fur, a gentle rumble came from his throat- a signally audible content.

"I had told you it was in our best interest to leave so early in the morning," Mothra chuckled, pleased that the King was in delight after all that waiting, "Had we waited for you to finish sleeping, your wait for this would have been extended further."

She gestured to herself as the King laughed at her remark. Soon, slowly, he took one of his arms away from her side, making sure the other was firmly holding her against his chest. Gently, he brushed his claws over one of her relaxed wings, admiring every single pattern embedded onto them as they shimmered slightly at his touch, with Mothra staying silent and lifting her wings further as to allow him to get a better view of them. His claws then soon stopped when it had reached the tip of her wings, and slightly caressed the pattern that lay there, a beautiful rendition of his golden eyes that contrasted well with the blue. The more he stared at it, the stronger the feeling of pride swelled within him

"The pattern I'm most proud to have adorned onto my wings," Mothra said warmly, not a hint of over-exaggeration in her voice as she stared at the pattern, "and the one that I am most honoured to have."

"Honoured?", Godzilla repeated, shaking his head, feeling unworthy to be complimented in such a way. "I should be the one saying that to you, Mosu."

She brought her front limb up towards her beak, stifling a laugh and happy he had thought so highly of her. "Although," she remarked, a playful look on her face beginning to grow, "my wings aren't just for flying or displaying such wonderful patterns."

Godzilla gave a look of mild confusion, only for it to be replaced by surprise as Mothra quickly extended her wings, only to then tightly wrap around the King's massive form, supplying him with warm comfort- akin to a blanket being draped over him.

"Now," she said, her expression, in that moment, the most precious thing in the world to him, "I can properly hug you back."

For the second time that day, the King's dorsal plates emitted a strong glow of pink- mildly unnoticeable yet again thanks to her wings being draped around him (although he was sure she would have noticed had her wings not been in the way). For a moment, they stayed that way in a silent embrace, keeping their eyes set on one another, uncaring about how out of place it was for two Titans to be hugging each other with such conviction. And, within that moment, the King struggled to determine what to say next, his heart beating faster and faster by the second as his thoughts clouded within his mind.

"Um," Godzilla finally replied after a while, more sheepishly than he would have cared to admit, "Well, it was a good call for you to set off in the early morning, because it seems that there is still a lot of time left in the day." He looked at her with excitement and eagerness, hopeful he would get the response he was looking for. "Why don't we spend the rest of the day out together and go around the earth for a bit?"

Mothra returned his fevered look with one of amusement, but couldn't hide the extreme happiness his suggestion brought to her. "Oh? That's quite uncharacteristic of you, Goji. Would you not prefer to spend the rest of the day asleep? Afterall, I was the one who forcefully woke you up."

The King's gaze softened, as did his nerves as he slightly chuckled. "Well, we're already out here. It'd be a shame to waste an opportunity like this. It'd be like the olden days, would you like that?"

Mothra, after hearing his words, rested her head against the side of his neck, making her wings embrace him tighter. Godzilla happily responded by tilting his head to the side, to rest it against hers, wrapping his arms tighter around her. Slight tears had begun to well in her crystal eyes, happy to have really been brought back to him so soon, and enjoying every second her wings were around him.

"Yes," she smiled, "I would like that very much."
