Chapter 2: New to Howlington

It was night time in Howlington and the people were in their homes while the dogs were out on the streets. Outside of town in the middle of the forest where it was dark and quite, a white beam struck down from the night sky, teleporting a human figure that was wearing a black jacket, shirt, pants and shoes, and carrying three bags.

The figure raised it's head slowly, revealing a teenage male approximately 17yrs of age, with black hair and a skinny body. He appeared to be of Italian decent.

The teen started walking his way through in the dark forest.

The teen was seen walking in the middle of Howlington, Later on he came across a flyer that was hanging on a light pole which showed a picture of a white poodle with pink hair and a phone number underneath.

The teen recognises this poodle and takes the flyer to have a deeper look, after doing that he said these words under his breath: "Right in the point"

It was a bright sunny day, people were doing their usual routines like walking with their pets, going to their jobs and so on. The teen was grabbed his phone out of his right side pocket. The phone had a black case with a foldable Wifi adapter on the right side. While walking, he logged on his phone to see the picture of the flyer that he had taken last night. He found a private spot that he could use to call someone without having any public eyes on him and started dialling the number.

After a few rings Scarlet picked up "hello?"

Teen: "Hello, is this Scarlet I'm talking too?"

Scarlet: "Yes?"

Teen: "I'm looking for someone named Freddy, do you know him?"

Scarlet asked curious: "Yes? and who is this?"

Teen: "Jason is the name, I would like to know if I can talk to Freddy please?"

Scarlet: "I'm sorry Jason, he is not with me"

Jason thinks about of what he should ask next: "thats ok, is there a chance we could meet up and talk about his pack?"

defensively Scarlet responded: "how did you get my number and how do you know about his pack?"

Jason calmly: "I found one of your flyers in the town, I too have been watching"

Scarlet: "You have been watching us!?"

Jason: "Yes, I saw that you and Freddy were friends. I know that his pack has been dealing with the Wolf hunters and the Wilderwolves that are trying to take over this town. I've seen what he has been through and I wanted to help take down the Wilders"

Scarlet was silent from the shock of how this man knew about her, the wolf pack and Freddy.

Jason continued: "I understand if your feeling shocked right now"

Scarlet: "We cannot meet, I'm sorry"

Jason: "I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, I can't just let you and the pack go on with what you are doing. The Wilders are still on the run but they could come up with a another plan to take over the town. How about we get to know each other first and once we do, we can discuss this further?"

Scarlet thought about this for a few seconds and then she replied: "Alright, that's sounds fair. How do you want to do this?"

Jason: "We will meet each at the public cafe and we can talk from there, I will be outside"

Scarlet: "then it's planned"

Jason: "I will be in touch"

Jason ended the call and headed to the cafe to meet Scarlet.

Six minutes later

Jason was sitting out the front of the cafe

Some time later, Jason saw Scarlet arrived. He called out to her: "Scarlet"

Scarlet looked toward the direction of where her name had been called and saw Jason. Scarlet walked to him and said: "Hello. Are you Jason?"

Offering his hand, Jason responded: "Yes I am"

Scarlet shook Jason's hand as she lower herself into a seat.

Jason started: "I'm glad we can meet. I will get straight to the point as to why I wanted to talk to you"

Scarlet annoyed: "So go ahead"

Jason: "I needed to talk to Freddy so I can get to his pack. I know that you don't trust me and we only just met, but I have some information that will help you to know that I'm on your side"

Scarlet: "Shoot"

Jason: "You remember of how Freddy switched his form?. He has a bracelet that allows him to avoid his transformation while the moonlight is shining on him. if he presses the button, the bracelet is then covered in metal"

Scarlet: "yeah I know that"

Jason: "ok"

Scarlet: "What else do you know about the pack?"

Jason: "I'm happy that you asked. When the night sky is around, the wolf pack patrols the town and they help anyone that is in danger. I know when Freddy first told you, you did't believe him. I supposed you still don't entirely believe it?"

Scarlet: "Yes that's true, but you sound like Freddy"

Scarlet tries to hold her laughter as she fails to and started giggling with Jason smiling

Scarlet calms herself down and continues: "I'm sorry Jason. It's just I find it stupid of how a wolf pack would come around at night and save people from the danger, I find it not possible"

Jason: "All good, you just have to see it to believe it"

Scarlet shocked: "So you wanna get drink?"

Jason: "I don't have any money on me sorry"

Scarlet: "No I can buy the drinks, you coming?"

Jason: "Yes"

The two got up from their seats and went inside the store.

Jason and Scarlet were in the line to do their orders. When they were at the counter, Scarlet was talking to a Employee who was a women with brown skin, worn a red shirt with the cafe logo on it and pants

The started Employee "Hi what can I get for you?"

Scarlet: "Hey can we get two median size hot chocolates with one that comes with marshmallows?"

Employee "Yep and is that all for today?"

Scarlet: "yes"

Employee: "that would be $6.50"

Scarlet goes for her pocket to grab the money out and pay for the drinks, after giving her the money the Employee gives her chance back and then the receipt. The two move out of the line and waited for their drinks to be served.

The duo were walking together with their hot chocolates as they were talking

Jason: "I'm into gaming, well PC gaming. What about you?"

Scarlet: "I'm into Social media"

Jason: "What do you use?"

Scarlet: "I use Instagram and Facebook"

Jason: "Cool"

Scarlet: "Do You use them?"

Jason: "No I don't, I can't be bothered when it comes to toxic people and private information been taken"

Scarlet: "Oh, I understand"

Scarlet takes a sip from her drink with Jason doing the same: "So it's not my thing"

Jason asked a question: "So what is it that you do on social media?"

Scarlet answered: "I look at people posts because I'm interested in seeing of what they are posting"

Jason: "Hmm"

After three minutes of walking with the two of them quite. Jason decided to end the conversation

Jason: "Alright, I gotta head back to the woods so I can get some stuff done. It was pleasure meeting you Scarlet"

Scarlet: "You too Jason"

Jason: "And before I leave, let me know when you want to met again"

Scarlet: "I will"

Jason: "Ok, you have my number too. I will see you around"

Scarlet: "Bye"

Jason: "Bye

Jason and Scarlet walked off in different directions, when Scarlet was fair enough away from Jason, she pulled out her phone and started contacting Freddy

Freddy: "Hello?"

Scarlet said in a serious tone: "Freddy, we have to talk"

One Day ago

Freddy was arriving at the front of Scarlet's, he walks up to the door and knocks on it

The door then opens up which reviews that Scarlet was answering, she then said to Freddy: "Come in"

Freddy enters inside with Scarlet closing the door behind and leading Freddy to her room, Scarlet started talking: "So what happened at the meeting?, what was it about?"

Freddy sighs before answering the question: "If I tell you everything, will you promise to never tell anyone about it"

Scarlet: "I promise"

Freddy started to explain from the beginning describing what the meeting was actually about.

Freddy explained how he was wrongly accused of betraying his own wolf pack, because he had befriended a wolf hunter, Scarlet. Hotspur believed this and then he took it as a sign of betrayal, and decided to have him kicked out of the academy. Freddy was also been told that he was not allowed to communicate her, as Hotspur had advised him that it could put the pack in a risk of being found. Freddy also told Scarlet that his friends from the campsite were also werewolves, as Scarlet didn't know this.

So now Scarlet after hearing Freddy explain this had an understanding of what he has been through, then said: "I'm am surprised"

Freddy: "Yeah. Now I'm stuck in my home missing out on attending the academy, and seeing my friends. All because of my stupid uncle, I'm a mess"

Scarlet: "Hey you still have me, you told me everything about your pack and without it, I wouldn't be on your side. And I don't believe your a mess, as matter in fact. Your good"

She then smiles with Freddy doing the back, replying: "Thanks Scarlet"

With that said, Scarlet put her arm around him and they stare at each other. Scarlet remembered she wanted to ask Freddy something: "So Freddy, Have you ever seen wolves with eyes that glow red?"

With that heard, Freddy questioned: "Have you saw them?"

Scarlet: "Yeah?"

Freddy: "Yes, I have see them and they are Wilderwolves. The most dangerous pack that wants to destroy mankind ever since the first one werewolf was born"

Present

Back to when Scarlet was calling Freddy

Freddy: "What is it?"

Scarlet: "I met someone who knows about you, me and your pack"

Shockley Freddy said: "What!?"

Scarlet: "Yeah. And he wants to speak with you, about getting into your pack so he can help you take down the Wilderwolves"

Freddy: "Yea, what did he also told you?"

Scarlet went into thought for a second of what she should tell him: "Just stuff that he about your pack"

Freddy: "Ok… Who is this guy, and how does he know?"

Scarlet: "His name is Jason. I been told that has been watching us"

Freddy: "Jason… Watching?"

Scarlet said with a bit of disbelief: "I don't know how, but he did"

Freddy: "So If I'm gotta meet this guy, I'm not doing it alone"

Scarlet: "That's what I also have been thinking"

Freddy: "I agree, but on that case I want to know how he did. I will be available tomorrow"

Scarlet agreed to his plan: "Alright"

Freddy: "I will talk to you again"

Scarlet: "See ya Freddy"

Freddy: "See ya"

Both of them ended the call with Scarlet arriving at the front of her house.
