Misunderstood

Most people didn't understand that Grant Ward faced difficulties. He had heard so many stories, different versions of what S.H.I.E.L.D. was and what Hydra was, but did anyone really look to see who the true Grant Ward. Was he Hydra, was he S.H.I.E.L.D., or was he just a guy who was attempting to get back to the love of his life? So what if she was Tony Stark's godsister.

2. A Break from Reality

He hadn't been lying when he told Skye that he was tired but then he saw Melinda just as he reached his door. He stopped activating his door and began to walk over to her. "How did you handle it?"

"I relive my worst memory all the time," Melinda says as she looks at him. "I let it consume my entire life. It destroyed most of the relationships and I don't recommend it. How long has it been since you saw your friend?"

"Before I joined the team," Grant says as he looks at her. "Are you going to tell Coulson?"

"No, we all deserve something outside of work," Melinda says as she watches him. "Plus she has to be connected to our world if she knew to find you in London. I hope you don't mind that I invited her."

Grant looks at her shocked, and starts, "but how?"

"Figured you'd need someone to talk to after this crazy day," Melinda says before opening her door. "Just don't make a habit of it or the other kids will expect the same treatment."

"Got it," Grant says before turning back to his room and opening the door. He is greeted by a tall brunette racing into his arms, whom he just hugged tightly. "God I needed this."

"That's what your teammate said," she says buried within his arms. "Something about having to relive your worst memory for the last couple of days. What happened?"

"Stupid Asgardian artifact," he says as he rests his chin on her head. "It reacts to rage and hatred, by shining the light into the dark places of your life."

"Stupid Thor," she says as she relaxes into his hold.

"This time was nothing to do with, but someone who came to Earth before him, a warrior," he says as he inhales the scents of almond blossom and mint. "Though I am surprised to see you here, I thought you were going back to New York."

"I was in the middle of deciding between going back to the States and stopping off in Greece for a few weeks before the holiday rush," she says as she places her ear over his heart. "I got a better offer."

"I'm glad," he says before leaning down and kissing her. "I've missed you, Callie."

"I've missed you too," she says as leans up and begins to kiss him. She snakes her arms up and around his neck as he deepens the kiss. She smiles as she feels him grip her hips and began to pull her closer to him.
