Hey guys! So I found myself unable to stop writing after uploading the chapter yesterday, and decided that I was going to post another chapter today. Don't expect regular updates like that a lot, but I'll try to upload as frequently as I can.

Word of warning, these are the first fight scenes that I have ever written, so it is likely that they are really bad. I would appreciate tips on how to make them more entertaining or entertaining at all. With all this said, I really hope you enjoy this chapter!

The first thing that Percy noticed when he woke up was how much his head was hurting, followed by the harsh glare of the midday sun, streaming through the branches of the trees surrounding him. As the demigod fought to regain his bearings, he remembered the conversation he had with Aether before being unceremoniously transported to this place. He took a deep breath, relishing in the clean air that went to his lungs, and then promptly had a coughing fit, not used to being able to breath so much air easily.

Smiling widely, Percy stood up, noting with surprise the immaculate set of armour he was wearing. It consisted in a beautiful bronze cuirass, not unlike the legendary Spartan garment, decorated with a big trident in the front and images of his many battles beautifully carved in it. Next, he could see a set of matching greaves and a Spartan helmet, red plume included. Hearing a fluttering sound behind him, he turned around to find a long red cape trimmed with golden threads, supported by a broach with the appearance of a deep blue ocean coloured trident.

He patted his pocket, breathing in relief when he found his trusty pen, and with it a note. Curious, he opened it.

Perseus

I hope the journey has treated you well. As you have probably seen, I took the liberty of giving you a new set of armour and made some changes to Anaklusmos, giving it two new forms so you can blend in better with the locals. For short range combat you will be able to use it as the blade it has always been or as a trident, in honour of your father's choice of weaponry. And finally, for medium and long range I added an assault rifle, so you can compensate for your lack of accuracy. It uses standard ammunition, and it too is capable of using Dust rounds.

This is the last time I will be able to communicate with you, so I wish you luck in the rest of your journey.

For a moment Percy stood there, stunned, but then swiftly uncapped Riptide to find that the blade was longer, reaching a length of 5 feet. Absently, he noted with relief that the blade still felt right in his hands, like it was made especially for him. He then found two buttons hidden in the hilt, which he assumed were to change the shape of the weapon. Capping the pen, Percy then proceeded to look around, unsurprised to find himself in the middle of a forest. 'Gods,' he thought, 'are thoughtful like that.' Chuckling ruefully, he said "Some things never change."

'I need a plan,' the demigod thought. 'What would Annabeth do?' He needed to prioritize finding a road or a river to lead him civilization, then find a job that hopefully wouldn't require much in the way of credentials, his lack of background in this world reducing his possibilities by a wide margin.

'First things first, I need to find a body of water.' Extending his senses, he found a river a few hundred yards north of his position. Deciding that going that way was the best option he had, he promptly started walking in that direction.

Looking around, he noticed how beautiful everything looked, and couldn't find a speck of litter contaminating the ground. "Man, Grover would have loved this place, even the air feels cleaner than back home."

Hearing the bushes rustling behind him, he turned around and uncapped Riptide, finding himself faced with at least a dozen black wolf-like creatures, with piercing red eyes and bone masks decorated with red markings. 'Must be the creatures of the Grimm Aether told me about,' he thought absently, coming to a fighting stance. With a tug in his gut, Percy started to bring water to his position, readying himself for a fight.

Calmly, he started analysing the creatures, noting that they were smaller than hellhounds, but if the gathering was any indication they appeared to attack in bigger numbers. Focusing on the water surrounding him, the demigod willed it to shape into spears and increased their surface tension, hardening them. With a though, the spears embedded themselves in a big part of the pack of wolves, killing them instantly.

Sidestepping the first Grimm that came towards him, Percy turned his sword into a trident, eager to use the weapon so coveted by the denizens of the sea. Pivoting on the spot he made a thrusting motion, impaling the beast with ease. Hearing the remaining monsters coming after him, the demigod dislodged his weapon just in time to strike a wolf with the butt end of the trident, sending it flying towards the rest of the pack, dispersing them. Not willing to give them a second, Percy lashed out, cutting through two beasts with the sharp edge of the weapon, killing them instantly.

Smiling, the prince of the seas marvelled at the ease in which he could handle his father's weapon, feeling as if it were an extension of himself. Eyeing the 5 beasts remaining, he decided to test Riptide's new length and, with a flick of his finger the trident started to fold into itself, leaving in its place a gleaming bronze blade.

Falling into a roll, Percy avoided the wolf that came with the intent of sinking its jaws in his throat and slashed upwards, cleanly cutting the monster in two. Recovering quickly, he faced the remaining wolves, and with nary a thought threw himself into the fight with abandon, stabbing one through the eye, deflecting a swipe directed to his face with his blade and delivered a bone shattering punch, surprising himself when it went through. Feeling the two remaining Grimm closing on him, the demigod took a step back and with a mighty swing of his blade cut through flesh as easily as one would through warm butter, ending the fight instantly.

Smiling in satisfaction, the demigod looked around the clearing, admiring the results of arduous training and countless life or death situations. "Heh, guess spending some time in Tartarus is good for something after all. Now all I need is to find something to eat."

Deciding to follow the river he was approaching before coming across the Grimm, Percy continued onwards, arriving within minutes. Kneeling at the bank of the river, the demigod started gulping water desperately, finally being able to satiate the thirst he had been feeling since his fall to the pit and opening himself to the rejuvenating properties of the liquid for those of his heritage.

Making use of his abilities, the demigod submerged in the water, using it to clean himself of the grime and filth that accompanied him since his stay in the pit. So engrossed he was in the rejuvenating feelings that came from being in the domain of his father, that three hours passed by the time he came out of the water, more rested that he had been in a long time.

Deciding that it was time to keep going with his search for civilization, Percy started following the river downstream, noting that the more he walked the less dense the forest was, meaning that it was possible he was approaching a settlement.

An hour passed by with nothing of note happening when he heard a choked scream coming from further south. Deciding that this was as a good time as any for the start of his hero career, Percy started running in the direction of the noises, arriving to the edge of the good and finally being able to see what was happening.

A woman was kneeling in the floor, being held by what looked like two teens, one sporting grey hair and the other with the ugliest shade of green he had ever seen. The last figure belonged to a dark-haired woman, who at the moment was shooting some kind of black material from her hands towards the kneeling woman's face, who screamed in agony upon feeling the stuff touching her skin.

Percy then decided he had seen enough, and with a tug in his gut began gathering water, and when he felt he had enough took running to where the fight had taken place, launching a blade made out of water to were the threads were connecting both women, severing it, and a wave that swept everyone off their feet. Furious, the woman turned to him and raised her hand, summoning a blade that appeared to be made of fire. With a cry the thread-y girl came running towards him, intent on killing him where he stood, but was surprised to find her blade blocked by a flash of bronze.

Pushing with all his might, Percy managed to get the woman off him and started attacking her, unleashing a flurry of blows, all barely being managed to be deflected by her. Disengaging, the woman called to her companions: "Leave! We don't have enough aura to face him now, retreat to the bullhead!"

The demigod stood there, deciding between checking on the woman and pursuing the criminals, but in the end the wounded took priority, so with a sigh he capped Riptide and took towards the woman in a sprint. Kneeling next to her, Percy could see that she was losing much blood so with a painful, almost unbearable tug in his gut took control of the woman's blood, letting him take out the arrow and make a clot to stop the bleeding.

Releasing a long breath, the demigod fell on his back to rest for a moment, having used an ability of his that took too much out of him. But alas, it was not to be as he heard footsteps behind him. Resigned, but unwilling to leave the woman at someone else's mercy, Percy whirled around, holding Riptide in a ready stance in case there was a fight coming.

The person in front of him not appeared to be threatening at first glance, with greying black, spiky hair, faded pink eyes, and slight stubble along his jawline. Along with a red, tattered cloak, and a grey dress shirt with a long tail, black dress pants and black dress shoes.

"You gonna fight me?" asked Percy, standing defensively in front of the girl.

"I saw you running off the ones who were attacking the girl, so on the contrary, I owe you one," the man replied, and Percy noticed a faint slurring in his words, indicating that he was at least a bit intoxicated.

"Why, is she your wife or something?"

"No, no, you could say that we have the same boss. He likes her a lot, so thanks for the save, but now can you let me pass so I can take her to him?"

"Look pal, I have no way of proving what you are saying its true, and you don't exactly inspire confidence so I can't in good conscience leave her to you after she was attacked for some reason, so if you want to take her to your boss I was planning on going to a hospital on the nearest village, you are welcome to come with us."

"That's fair, but I have a better offer," replied the man, signalling towards a plane like vehicle descending from the sky. "I'm going to take her to Beacon in Vale, you are welcome to join us and then you can speak with the headmaster, who would likely want to talk with you."

"Alright," agreed Percy, "I'll go with you to Beacon, I was planning on heading there anyway. Let me get the lady and then we can go."

"Sounds good. The name's Qrow by the way, Qrow Branwen," said the man, offering his hand to Percy.

"A pleasure, my name is Perseus Jackson, but call me Percy." As he shook Qrow's hand he noted the strength of the grip, making him one of the famed huntsmen from the stories of Aether.

Picking up the girl, Percy noted with slight trepidation that he was going to board a plane and thanked the gods that there was no Zeus to smite him on the air. Quietly, the trio made their way to the plane, where he laid the woman in what appeared to be a medical bed.

Seating in front of Qrow Percy asked, "So are you some kind of teacher at Beacon? The headmaster being your boss and all."

"No, I teach classes at signal, another school for future huntsmen. Ozpin is more my boss for another kind of job. So kid, where did you learn to fight? I saw you handled yourself well out there."

"I lived in a secluded village in Mistral for my whole life, so we didn't have much in the way of formal education, the only teachers I had were a cousin and my uncle."

"Life is tough outside the kingdoms; I know that for a fact. So Mistral, huh? What brings you to this part of the world?"

At this Percy's face darkened, and in a saddened tone of voice replied, "We had a Grimm attack a few months back, didn't leave much in the way of survivors. Me and a few others managed to kill them, but not after almost they slaughtered almost the entire village. I came this way hoping to enrol at an academy and put my skills to good use."

"Sheesh kid, I'm sorry about that. If you want, I can help you get into Beacon next year, the headmaster would let you in as a thanks for saving Amber for sure."

Percy gave the man a small smile and said: "Thanks man, I wasn't very confident in my abilities to get anywhere on my own so that's a relief." Percy found himself liking the laid back man, feeling like they were some kind of kindred spirits in the way they looked like they had the weight of the world in their shoulders. "Do you mind if I catch a quick nap? I've been travelling for a few months so these seats are tempting as fuck."

Qrow laughed, and with a soft "knock yourself out" he went to the pilot cabin, leaving the demigod sprawled in his seat.
