So I forgot to mention this, but even though there are mentions of the greek gods, they don't show up at all in this.

And to answer Quip Scarlet: Yeah, they might be showing as NPCs in this. Don't know which ones yet, but they will.

And also to answe Matt: Flowy is still Asriel, just without a soul since he was created by Alphys, which cause him to forget who he is and that's why he has Flowy's personality . So in short Flowy still basically the same person, just doesn't have a soul, since we do figure that out later in the game. Think of it kinda like an Alter-ego of Asriel, yet still the same person all together. Like you said, Octavian is like Flowy but the reason why I didn't peg him as the flower is because after reading the HOO ending, I would say he's a bit more insane and coo-coo than manipulative. So in other words Annabeth is still the same, but ever since she was killed and had to be brought back without a soul, it change who she is but the 'her' is still inside.

I hope that my explanation make sense to you. I admit it's a bit confusing (well for me) and I feel like my brain is trying to hurt itself just trying to figure this out since I'm not Matpat.

Anyway I don't own HOO or Undertale

Enjoy the very first chapter of this fanfic!

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

To be perfectly honestly, it was the deer's fault that she ended up down here.

"Ow."

A girl around the age of 12, wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, black athletic shoes, and a black leather jacket making her have an "Goth" look, rubbed her shoulder-length black spiky hair with one hand, and with a low grunted she opens her eyes slowly in her awakening, finding herself laying down somewhere.

Slowly rising up to a sitting posture on her knees, the girl's electric blue eyes, with black eyeliner underneath the eyelids, scanned around her surroundings. As she happens to look upwards, she realized that she appears to be at bottom of some kind of huge pit with a bed of yellow flowers and, for some odd reason, brown owl feathers that helped cushion her fall when she fell into this pit. The sun shine above through the entrance of the hole, giving light to the pit.

Almost having a full panic-attack of how she got here, the punk girl suddenly recalled the events beforehand. Uh...Wasn't I... oh right. I was chasing a deer that left a present for me on the way home and I was DEFINITELY not going to let it live after that. So if I could recall grabbed my bow and chased after it into the forest... but I lost sight of it. But as I was searching for the deer, when I made my way through some thick bushes, I... must have tripped over something into this... hole that was there. I also might have fainted while falling down this ridiculous random deep hole since I'm afraid of heights... okay good, so I don't have amnesia which is good because I can still remember everything before waking up here and I could still remember my name which is Thalia... wait, why am I thinking more than I have too?

Once able recall the past events, Thalia look over to one side to see her wooden bow broken into two pieces by her side. Damnit. Guess I can't use it anymore. Thalia then checkherself to make sure she still had all her accessories on. Her silver bracelet on her right wrist with an Medusa face inscribe into the top middle of it. Safety pins of Ramones and Dead Kennedy's on the near-zipper part of her jacket. Her small circlet black earrings at the top of her ear.

Once seeing that she seems to have everything and hoping that her facial features doesn't look to bad from the fall (Besides looking like a Goth girl),Thalia got up to her feet and began walk from the beam of light and into the darkness of the unknown caverns. However the girl was unaware of a small brown animal perch on a small ledge spread it wings and flew close behind the unexpected pre-teen goth girl.

As Thalia continued walking within the caverns, glancing around as she witnessed numerous stalagmites above them, as well as various echoing sounds of water droplets dripping to the floor. It was dark, but not too dark, as she had her eyes squinted slightly in order for her visions to properly adjust. How long is this cavern? Why haven't I reached the exit yet?, Thalia thought impatiently after a few minutes of wandering in darkness in silence. She then saw a faint curtain of light in the distance through the cavern. Bingo! Guess I spoke too soon.

But when Thalia reached the light curtain, it revealed to be nothing except for a small tree and more than another opening of a smaller pit above. Letting out a sound of frustration, Thalia cussed and grumbled, "Great."

She looked back to the tree and her eyes widen as there was a pair of yellow eyes on the tip of the plant. The figure then turned it's body fully around with its eyes still on Thalia to show it was an small brown barn owl which wouldn't be surprising to her since she has seen them before during her hunts.

However unlike the brown owls she has seen, this one appears to be... smiling? The owl beak seemed to curve upwards into what look like an friendly smile and interested eyes looking straight at her. "An owl that can smile... Nothing odd or horrible wrong about that." noted Thalia.

The owl seemed to broadened it's smile even more and it's face tilted sideways. "Hoot! Hello there human! I'm Hooty! Hooty the owl!"

"An the owl has a name." Thalia remarked. "And it can talk. Did I hit my head to hard on something on the fall down the pit?"

The owl body started to make a rumbling noise from inside it's body and Hooty made a noise that sounds like it was about to puke it's last meal beforehand. But then Thalia realized that it's it way of laughing. "You look fine to me human! Hoot!" Hooty then tilted it's face to the other side as if question from the left now. "Hoot! You're new here aren't you?"

"Uh, yeah. You keep saying human like you knew seen one before. Plus, I don't think I ever meet a talking owl before."

Once again, Hooty did that action like he was laughing at her. "Great Zeus! Hoot! You really are confused, little girl. It's okay, everyone makes mistakes and have misunderstandings! Hey, someone should outa teach you how things work around here!"

Thalia wasn't sure if she wanted to trust the owl, especially how it's voice is rather cheerful. But she doesn't have any other way to get information of where she is, and she would like to have some light about where she is, even if it's coming from a talking bird. Also owl's are supposed to be wise, according from Greek Mythologic since they are the scarce animal of Athena. After a moment of hesitant, she said, "... Alright. What do you want to teach me about this place?"

A moment pass and Thalia thought that Hooty was just bluffing about it's knowledge. She was about to question the barn owl when the area where her heart is started to glow, which soon took a physical shape from a beam of light into that of a heart, you would see at Valentines. Thalia flinch back in surprised and shock as what presumed to be her own heart manifest in front of her. The color of the heart happens to be a electric blue color just like her eyes.

"Woah!" She exclaimed. "Okay, what's with the Valentine heart coming from the place where my heart is?" With curiosity, Thalia then touched it with an finger and, to her surprised, she felt nothing as she poked it causality.

"Oh, that isn't just your heart. That is your SOUL. The culmination of your being!" Hooty revealed. Thalia turned her attention to the barn owl with an stunned expression. "My... soul?"

"Oh worry not, human! That is just a manifestation of your SOUL. Your SOUL starts off weak, but you can grow stronger if you gain a lot of LV." The owl explained further, Thalia expression then went from stun to an questioning eyebrow raise.

"LV? What's that? Levels?"

"Hoot! Wrong! It's LOVE!" The owl giggled (Can owls giggle?) enthusiastically. "You want to show me what exactly LOVE is?"

Thalia frown, having an bad feeling in her guts saying not to trust the bird. But hey, what's the harm with seeing how the owl put LOVE is?

As it turns out a lot of things actually.

Shrugging, Thalia replied, "Sure."

Hooty then swung one of his wing in front of him and several brown feather came of it, but instead of hitting the ground, they floated in the air like gravity doesn't matter for them. "Down here, LOVE is shared through... little brown... 'friendliness' feathers." As Hooty explained, Thalia didn't like the look how he quoted 'Friendliness' in his sentence, nor she like how the owl faces happen to tilt upside down before going right-side up. "Are you ready?"

As the feathers flew straight for Thalia, the suspicion feeling in her finally took over, and Thalia body's suddenly jerked, dodging to the left. The feathers flew past her an hit the opposite side of the wall, sticking in it like daggers which no feathers should or have the ability to do.

After a quick flash of shock, Thalia turned to the small brown owl with an gave him an blazing angry death-expression. "What th- the hell were those for!? They weren't 'friendly' at all!"

The owl let out an manic laugh and another chuckled went through his body. The brown owl didn't even seemed phased by the electrifying (no pun intend) death stare that would make bullies cry for their mommies. Shaking/moving it's head side to side to 360, "Oh, you still don't get it do you? In this world... it's killed or BE killed." He said in a dark and chilling voice. Thalia angry expression change to worriedness as in 'what has she gotten herself into'.

"I thought owls are supposed to be wise."

"Oh, I am wise. Wiser than most owl to decided for myself, that you need to learn the hard way of surviving. Now do me a favor and DIE! HOOT!" It hooted in a demonic tone. More brown owl feathers plucked off it's body and flew straight at Thalia like bullets. Having no ideas left, all Thalia could do was only wrap her arms around herself, shaking in fear, and closing her eyes, bracing herself for the dagger-feathers to impact into her body. She can imagine her tombstone will say something like, "Thalia. Age 12. Killed by an arsenal of sharp brown 'so-called-friendliness' feathers from an psycho brown barn owl. Send any belongs to her one friend from above if this is found."

Suddenly, Thalia felt a huge burst of wind hit her and the owl. Which was a bit strange to feel because no wind could have reached them from the outside of where they was. The feather daggers shifted in the wind and instead of going for their intended target, they end up hitting the wall once again. Hooty stop his sinister laughing and looked over in shock. "WHAT?! WHOOOO DARE'S-"

The owl's question was soon answered before he could even finish his thought as an fireball zipped towards them and strike Hooty and the tree he was on, shaking some petals off the bird and charring his feather covered body. With an pain 'HOOT!" Thalia heard the flapping of wings flying off in a distance. Getting the courage to open both eyes now, Thalia saw that she was alive and Hooty was now gone, leaving behind in his place charred feathers. and a pile of ash from the young tree he was perched on About to let out a sigh of relief, Thalia had to hold it back in as she saw tall figure walking to where Hooty once was and she didn't drop her guard down.

"What a terrible creature, torturing a poor innocent youth." The figure said, and Thalia realized that it was a female. She happen to have a motherly tone, calm, and soothing.

She turned around revealing her appearance to the Goth girl. The women was around the age of, not a fully-grown, but a young adult women age. Her caramel-color hair was braided to one side, having an sweet smelling cinnamon-smell that Thalia could scented from where she stood. She had a face that appeared to be timeless, looking beautiful, a bit too beautiful for an average young adult to usually have and kept as perfect as this women. Her dark almond-shaped eyes showed intelligent and curiosity looking towards Thalia. An low circular neckline, rimmed in gold, hung around the women neck. And lastly, the women appears to be wearing a long white robe that had a small black pegasus symbol on her chest. Noticing Thalia weary expression, she tried to calm the goth girl down and made sure that she meant no harm. "Don't be afraid. I won't harm you in any way possible. I am Calypso. Caretake of Ogygia. I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down here." She introduce herself.

Thalia face lit up as she memorize certain words the young women had said. Calypso. Ogygia. Where have I heard of those words before?

Then it clicked into her mind. Everything started to make sense a little now.

"No way..." Thalia blurted out loudly, her shock expression was priceless. She pointed straight at Calypso and said, "As in Calypso? The Calypso? The Calypso from Greek mythology?!"

The Greek mythology happens to be one of Thalia's favorite subject in school and, in general, her favorite topic to talk/study/learn during her whole life. She has taken it as an interested when she was younger, and it stills fascinates her to this very day. She learned about the Greek Hero's during those times, the demigods, the Greek Gods, monsters, creatures, myths, and so on. If you happen to quiz Thalia about what she remembers from school, she could literally recite the beginning of the Greek gods to the battle of Troy.

Thalia also happens to have a belief that Greek mythologic to be around today, like she would see an crime on T.V and think, "Was that an regular mortal doing or an ancient Greek creature from Tartarus that is clocked behind the Greek Mist?". Of course she did tell her suspicions to others, who all thought that she was crazy or stupid or told her that there's no such thing of Greek mythology existing today and tell her to grow up. This also doesn't make her have a lot of friends to, besides for stuff horse animal that she left behind above.

Calypso nodded with an kind smile. "Yep. I see you know you Greek mythologic."

"I mean I-I-I knew that they were real, but I never excepted to run into them down here!" Thalia said, starting to pace around but then stop herself. "Sorry it's just... I'm so shocked right now that... the Greek myths... everything... is actually real."

Thaila would have sat down and think about the following events, but she didn't. Instead looking towards Calypso, Thalia happen to raise an eyebrow at the women and asked, "Wait... I read all about you and Ogygia in the history book, and not to be rude or anything, but how come you-"

"-Look like I'm in my 20s instead of looking like how the young me like I am descripted in the Greek history books?" Calypso finished Thalia sentence, still with an smile. "I have that question asked to me more than you think." She let out some soft giggles before continuing. "And the answer I always give out is that when on Ogygia, I still aged, but my body happen to not keep up with the age since I was immortals on the island. And now that I'm off the island, I am still aging, but my body is finally or a least trying to catching up with how old I will be today. So while my age may be a million or older than that, I looked like an I'm in my early 20s."

Thaila try to keep track while Calypso was talking, but basically all she could understand was that Calypso age had went up, but was still very uneven with her age.

"Wait, is this the originally Ogygia or, I dunno, a copy?"

"It's not the originally if that's what you're wondering." admit Calypso. "But it's definitely reminds me of Ogygia, which is why I call this place after the island of my old home."

There was something wistfully and sad in her tone when she spoke, her smile fading, and Thalia then had a recurring thought. Wasn't Ogygia originally a prison for Calypso from the Gods just because of supporting her dad in the Titan war? So when she called the originally Ogygia home, despite being it a prison, did she name this place, not because it reminds her of her old home, but because of something else going on?

Thalia shoved the thought aside as Calypso put on a forced smile and started to speak, "As much as I love to keep discussing about Ancient Greek culture with you, I advised we should probably get going to someplace more safe. You are after the first mortal to come down here in a long time. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs. Plus we can still continue to talk while walking." She offer to Thalia.

Thalia was about to agree, but then her suspension side pulled her back. "Hold on. Not to be rude or offensive again, uh... Miss Calypso, but how do I know that you aren't tricking me like Hooty?" Calypso didn't let go of her smile which showed that she wasn't upset at the question. "It's understandable to not trust someone after meeting another being that just tried to killed them moment ago. But believe me when I say it, I don't wish any ill towards you. I promise. And the others inhabits in this place aren't as friendly to mortals as I am."

Thinking for a few more seconds, Thalia agreed. "Okay. Lead the way, Miss Calypso."

"Oh, you don't have to call me that. Calypso is just fine enough for me." Calypso then turned around and walk as Thalia followed her, walking side by side into the darkness. However little did the two excepted, Hooty spied on them from a hidden hole in the cavern, his feathers still looking half-burned. His yellow pupils gleaming angry. But it was replace with an evil smirk as he once spread his wings and flew into the dark.
