Chapter 2

Well here is chapter two. I want to thank everyone for reading chapter one. As well as those that put it on Alert Lists and gave me review. I also updated Power of The Law so check that out as well.

Riley was doing everything in his power not to laugh. Today was a day where AEW was shooting an updated opening for Dynamite. As a result a lot of the talent was just waiting around until they were up. Riley suppressed another chuckle as Cody pulled at his weight belt and said "I can't get it." Brian Cage was sitting next to Riley. "What did you do?" Cage asks. "I may have swapped out Cody's actual weight belt for one where the holes are just a little bit misaligned," Riley whispers. "Wait so he can never get the belt to fit correctly," Cage says. "Its a rib brother," Riley admits. "Where is his actual belt?" Cage asks. "I got it in my bag under this chair," Riley says just Cody yells damn it. "Maybe you need to try a different belt," Brandi suggested. "Than I have to change so the belt doesn't clash," Cody says trying not to yell at his wife.

"Hey Cody try this one," Riley says pulling out the belt and tossing it toward Cody. "Morgan you son of a bitch," Cody says as other start to laugh figuring out what happened. Cody tosses the doctored belt at Riley, who winds up catching it with one hand draw a cheer more to mock The American Nightmare than anything. "So you ready for Wednesday?" Cage asks. "Oh hell yes. I am ready for Dynamite and man the angle stuff should be hot," Riley says. Mandy enters the other side of the room and Riley waves at her. She smiles back. "So I assume everything is still good at home," Cage notes. "Better and better every day," Riley says before getting up.

"So I missed the rib," Mandy says. "I warned you not to get coffee. You hear from Kenny and his meeting with TK?" Riley asks. "Not yet. I haven't even seen Kenny or Tony today," Mandy says. "Neither have I, but Nakazawa said Kenny was here. And Cody made a comment about meeting with Tony earlier," Riley says. One of the production people comes by and tells Riley he is up next. Riley pulls off the T-shirt he is wearing and heads the area they film crew is using. The door next to Mandy open and Tony Khan slips in. "Hi Tony," Mandy says getting ready to ask about his meeting with Kenny. "Hello Mandy... Oh good there is Jon. Have a good day," Khan says before moving over to speak with Jon Moxley. Mandy was extremely disappointed.

Tony Khan was a great boss and did his best to time to his whole roster. But of course there would be people that be priority over others. Jon Moxley was a clear priority Mandy knew she wasn't. "Don't get to upset Mandy. You talked to Kenny and made your issues clear. He said he was open to giving you a title shot. And a lot is going on today," She thinks to herself. Still though it stings.

Day of AEW Dynamite

"I swear you can't turn around backstage without getting filmed for someone's You Tube page," Riley says as he and Mandy walk into Daily's Place. "You helped to start it," Mandy reminds him. "Hey I was just the camera guy for shots that needed Nick, Matt, and Kenny," Riley claims. "Hey Riley we are going to need for BTE in a half an hour," Brandon Cutler yells out as they pass him "Got it Brandon," Riley says. QT Marshall came up to them to hand out lineups for the taping. Mandy looks at at Elevation and is stunned to see her name isn't listed. "Oh right Mandy, Kenny needs to see you. He is going to hold a meeting for the women's roster before lunch but he wants to see you ASAP," QT says. "Thank QT... Just great," Mandy says. "Don't get discourage," Riley says taking her hand.

"Riley look at the lineup I'm not even getting a match on You Tube," Mandy says. "Come on Mandy you beat Tay Conti just last week. And if Kenny broke his word to you I'm punching him in the face," Riley says getting her to smile a bit with his joke. "Great way to repay him for letting us stay with him," She follows up. "Mandy I know Kenny. He's a nice guy but he's also not the type to placate people. If he didn't think you would be a good pick for that title match he wouldn't have told you he would pitch the idea to Tony Khan. Maybe they want to cut down on the run time. Maybe they have a better spot for it," Riley says trying to encourage her. "Only one way to find out," Mandy says heading off to find Kenny.

Riley starts to head to changing room The Bucks and Kenny use. Penelope Ford storms past him. "Penelope I'm sorry," Kip Sabian says but she just keeps walking. "Oh man I know that tone. What did you do that made your wife mad?" Riley asks. "I may have lost something," Kip admits. "It wasn't that dog was it?" Riley asks. "No just my stupid wedding ring," Kip rants. "I really hope you didn't call it your stupid wedding ring when your wife was around," Riley says. "No she's just mad I lost the ring. Its just a ring," Kip says. "Please stop digging. You are only going to make it worse. You lost your wedding ring like a month after the wedding," Riley says. "I didn't mean to lose it," Kip says trying to defend himself. "Well how did you lose it?" Riley asks.

"I'm not really sure... any advice?" Kip asks. "Keep saying you are sorry understand she has her reasons for being mad. And it will really help if you find your ring and never and I stress never lose it again," Riley says. "Miro told me the same thing," Kip says. "Look your not the first guy to lose his wedding ring. Odds are this won't be the breaking point. Just really try to find the ring," Riley says before heading the dressing room. "Big night Riley," Matt Jackson says as he enters.

Office Space

Mandy managed to track Kenny fairly quickly. AEW had a few offices they used in the Jaguars' Stadium. Arn Anderson had let know Kenny was using one right now. As she approached the door she could hear him talking in Japanese. Mandy waited about a minute later Michael Nakazawa exited the office. The comedy wrestler had a very serious look his face. Mandy moved to the office and saw Kenny behind a desk his head burred in his hands. Mandy knocks on door to get his attention. "Kenny." He looks up. "Mandy come on in." She takes a seat and says, "You look like you are having a rough day." "You have no idea. Hikaru is hurt," Kenny says. "What happened? Is she going to be okay?" Mandy asks. She wasn't paticually close to Shida but they got along well enough. "She working in the ring with Big Swole. Swole slipped and wound up dropping Shida badly on her ankle," Kenny explains.

"Broken?" Mandy asks and Kenny just nods before stating. "She needs surgery. Good news is the local hospital was able to get her in later today. But she is going to be out for a while," Kenny says. "Is that what your meeting with the women's roster is about?" Mandy asks. "It is. There is no way Hikaru is going to be back in time to be on the next pay per view. So we are going to declare the women's title vacant. Tony and I already know what we want to do. Mandy its going to be you and Britt," Kenny says. "Britt and I what?" She asks. "For the strap," Kenny says. "Wait what?" Mandy asks in shock. "You and Britt Baker for the vacant title. I had already pitched to TK about you getting you title shot and he liked it."

Meanwhile

"So the show ends with you guys joining up with Kenny and the Good Brothers," Riley says. "Yeah heel turn time," Nick says. "And what am I going to do. I mean last week you guys saved me after getting jumped?" Riley asks. "Well we kind of think you should be the man alone. Build up to a potential reunion with you and Hangman put some tension in with the Dark Order. Hint at will you or won't you join the rest of us," Matt says. Riley just nods listening. "There could be some really good stuff," Nick adds. "When was the last time actually feuded?" Riley asks. Nick and Matt both think. "Yeah it been a while since we actually feuded. Tag matches over the year," Nick says. "I think it was PWG with Mount Rushmore," Matt says.

"God that was like a life time and a half ago," Riley says thinking back to those days with the Bucks teaming with Adam Cole and Kevin Owens as mega heels. "Should be interesting," Riley says with an uneasy tone. "You okay man?" Matt asks. "Just nervous. I've had a lot of success riding you two, and Kenny's coat tales. And before you warn me to not doubt myself I'm not. Its also I've had a lot of fun with you guys," Riley says. "Riley you know its a work right we will still be friends," Nick says. "Yeah dude we aren't now going to suddenly get super into kayfab," Matt says. "Well your book is called Killing The Business," Riley jokes.

Later that night

"Join the Dark Order." Is heard over the PA as Colt Cabana enters followed by the rest of the Dark Order. The group gives there salute before Colt heads to the ring before the rest of the group turns to the back. Backstage Riley waited for his cue. Once his music hit he sprinted up his steps and burst through the tunnel. "Last time we saw this man in the ring he was challenging for the AEW world title and he came so close to winning it. I talked to him earlier today and for Riley Morgan this starts his road back to title contention," Excalibur says as Riley enters the ring. Colt has already taken off his jacket and Riley takes off his. The referee calls for the bell.

"This should be an interesting clash of styles. Riley Morgan his history in Japan his use of the marital arts vs. Boom Boom's use of the English Style," Jim Ross says. "And Excalibur what were you telling me earlier today that Riley has never beaten Colt Cabana?" Tony Schivone asks. "That's correct Tony. In five different singles matches Colt Cabana has beaten Riley every single time. But there last singles match was a number of years ago in PWG," Excalibur explains. Riley and Colt lock up and Colt goes for a hip toss. Riley lands on his feet goes for one is own now Colt lands on his feet. Cabana goes for another arm drag again Riley lands on his feet but this time Colt gets a school boy. Count of one count of two. Riley kicks out.

Riley gets back up to his feet. Colt reaches out trying to grab Riley's arm. Front kick by Riley to keep Colt off him. Colt dives for the leg though and gets Riley down. Colt looks for a spinning toe hold but Riley gets the ropes. "You know guys Colt Cabana is one of those guys that pulls you into have his type of match," Tony Schivone says. Riley gets back up and goes for a lock up. Go behind by Riley and hits a release German Suplex. Colt lands hard when he gets back Riley lands his Ode to Chono kick. Cabana rolls to the floor. "It don't much more effective than a boot to the face," Jim Ross claims. Riley follows Colt out and whips him in the guard rail. Riley than puts Colt back in the ring. Cabana gets to his feet while stands on the apron. "Wait he's not going to?" Tony asks just before Riley flips over the ropes clearly going for the buckshot lariat.

Cabana ducks and hits a lariat of his own. Double under hook suplex by Cabana. "Excalibur has Riley ever gone for the buckshot before?" Tony asks. "Not that I can recall. Was he doing that to taunt Hangman Adam Page?" Excalibur wonders. Snap suplex by Cabana followed by a scoop sit out piledriver and he covers. Count of one count of two Riley kicks out. Riley gets to his feet but Cabana hits the bionic elbow knocking him back down. Diving leg drop by Cabana connects he pulls Riley up to his feet and looks for a cradle DDT and hits it. Cabana is looking for another lariat this time Riley ducks and comes back with a spinning hook kick. Both men are down. It takes a second for both men are able to stand up again. Lock up and Colt whips Riley into the ropes. On the rebound Colt just sticks his foot out and trips the Dog of War.

Slap to the back of the head by Cabana and than he kicks Riley in the side. "That is very out of character for Colt Cabana," Jim Ross says. Lake shore driver hanging cutter by Cabana and he covers count of one count of two. Riley kicks out. Cabana starts to set up for the Chicago Skyline but Riley strikes Cabana in the head knocking him off. Riley falls off the ropes and takes a running knee by Cabana. Again Cabana sets up for the Chicago Skyline. Some how Riley slips around and comes off with a second rope DDT. Riley hold on and pulls Cabana to his feet in a standing front face lock. Riley with a brain buster.

Riley waits for Colt to stand back up before hitting another Ode to Chono. Riley covers count of one count of two Cabana kicks out. "Right into the Koji Clutch!" Excalibur exclaims as Riley locks in the submission hold. Cabana struggles and gets up his knees and goes to slam Riley on his head but Riley lets the hold go. "Final Wave!" Excalibur yells when Riley hits the move out of no where. Riley covers hooking the leg. Count of one count two count of three. "The winner of the match The Dog of War Riley Morgan!" Riley stands up and gets his hand raised. The Dark Order quickly come out to check on Cabana. At one point Stu Grayson winds running into Riley. Suddenly the two men get into each other's face. Stu shoves Riley and than Riley shoves Stu.

Evil Uno doesn't like that and now he's in Riley's face. Hangman Page makes his way to the ring and gets between Riley and Uno. "Let me handle it," Hangman says to the Dark Order. He turns back to Riley who just nods and exits the ring. "There is a lot we don't know about what is doing on with Riley Morgan and Hangman Page," Jim Ross says. "Well one thing we know JR is that The Dark Order and Riley Morgan don't get along," Tony says. "And once again it seems Hangman is right in the middle," Jim Ross adds.

Being the Elite

The show had just shown the Young Bucks turning on Jon Moxley and reuniting with Kenny and The Good Brothers. The fans than saw Mandy and Riley watching what had been the end of Dynamite. "I can't believe they did that. Did you know that was going happen?" Mandy says clearly in shock. Riley doesn't respond he just watches as the Bucks and Kenny embrace. "Last week Kenny attacked you I thought the Bucks had sided with you. Riley what are you going to do?" Mandy asks still in shock. Riley just stays silent. Mandy simply says, "Riley," one more time. "I don't know!" He finally yells.
