this is just a little part of the 'demons' oneshot that I randomly thought of a few days after the oneshot was published haha

kirishima and bakugou come across monoma bc i can

note: if you like monoma, fine. my sister does, too. and there's definitely some kind of reason behind his crazed behavior. but he is a huge jerk and nobody can deny it. i ain't saying that people like bakugou are angels or anything. in fact, bakugou may even be a bigger jerk. but [**MANGA SPOILERS** he's realizing that he's been in the wrong for a long time and wants to try to fix it. monoma isn't.]

bakugou does have underlining issues and so does monoma, probably. but you are below even the worst of jerks if you go straight for the trauma as a first wave of attack, which monoma does. in the sports festival, he kind of harassed bakugou about the sludge villain. bakugou probably has ptsd (though i could be wrong, i'm no psychiatrist) from that incident. i'm not saying bakugou's an angel either, and he's not excused for mental issues. but at the same time, neither is monoma.

"Bakugou-kun, you're walking so fast. I know you're anxious, but wait up!"

Katsuki shrugged and slowed down, allowing Kirishima to catch up to him. He quickly wrote 'sorry' on the little notepad the redhead had given him.

"Nah, it's fine, I understand. I sometimes have- oh."

Katsuki looked over at his friend, who looked tense.

"Bakugou-kun..." he hissed, pointing at a figure in front of him. "It's Monoma."

The blond winced and was kind of convinced to cling right on to Kirishima.

Fuck. He's coming this way.

"Ahaha, what is this? The infamous Bakugou Katsuki with Kirishima Eijiro?" Monoma exclaimed.

It took all of Katsuki's willpower not to shrink back behind Kirishima. Or just run away altogether.

"Monoma-san, please not now," Kirishima begged. "Please leave us alone."

"Leave you alone? Are you afraid of me?! The irony, the irony! Two students from the famous class 1-A, scared of me?!"

Kirishima sighed. "Bakugou-kun, you can always get behind me. I've got you."

He nodded, but tried his best to hold his ground.

"What's this? Are you trying to protect the infamous Bakugou, who's such a barbarian he had to be chained up at the sports festival?! That the villains kidnapped him because they thought he'd join them?!"

"Monoma-san, stop! It wasn't his fault that the villains did what they did! The chains reminded him of an incident in middle school! He was... he was traumatized! I can't believe you're such a piece of shit that you'd go right for the trauma that Bakugou's gone through! He didn't deserve any of it!"

"Ha! Trauma? He probably has mommy issues and that's why he's such a barbarian!" Monoma kept yelling like a crazy person.

Katsuki couldn't handle it anymore. He stepped back, sweating and trying not to cry. Not in front of Monoma.

Unfortunately, Monoma noticed Katsuki's attempt to get away.

"What's this?! Don't tell me you're actually scared of me?!" Monoma laughed, shoving his face into Katsuki's.

The spiky-haired blond flinched and fell right into Kirishima.

"Bakugou-kun, are you okay? Monoma-san, don't do that!"

Katsuki desperately had to get away. He pushed Kirishima and steadied himself before shrinking behind the redhead and turning away, holding his head and panicking.

"What's this, what's this?! The infamous Bakugou IS scared of me! Of me, a class 1-B student with only the ability to mimic others' Quirks! How funny, how funny! And I thought class 1-A was so much better!"

Kirishima growled. "Monoma-san, he got hit with a Quirk!"

"He got hit with a Quirk?! What was it, huh?! One that makes him a coward?!"

Kirishima activated his Quirk. "I can't explain it in detail, but everything is dark to him. People look like literal demons and scare him. The stronger the bond he has with someone, the more terrifying they look to him. It's not his fault that he got hit with it! Why can't you understand that?!"

Monoma laughed hysterically. "That sounds more like him being a coward! There's no Quirk at play here, there's just him!"

"Haven't you noticed his eyes, Monoma-san?"

"Why would I look at his eyes when I already know they're crimson and full of anger?! Why, why?!"

Kirishima hissed. "Katsuki, show him. Maybe he'll get it now."

Reluctantly, Katsuki came out from behind Kirishima and allowed Monoma to look at his eyes.

"They're pitch-black, right? That's a result of the Quirk. One's eyes turn black. He can't help that he got hit. We don't know how to lift it yet. It makes him so scared simply to be even around people, especially me. I'm asking you again, please just leave us alone."

Monoma wouldn't listen. He kept ranting and ranting. Katsuki was completely panicking and even went as far as to hug Kirishima.

Kendo suddenly appeared and chopped his neck. "I'm so, so sorry. Are you two alright? He can be a bit much."

Kirishima sighed in relief. "Thanks so much, Kendo-san. Bakugou here was completely panicking."

She cocked her head to the side. "Is... he okay? What happened?"

"He got hit by a Quirk that makes everyone look kinda like that portal guy from the LOV and they're all scary. The stronger the bond they have, the more they terrify him. So, I'm kind of the bane of his existence right now."

"Oh, so that's what he was ranting about. Again, I'm really sorry about him. He needs to learn to respect you guys more. You didn't do anything wrong."

"Thanks again. Bakugou-kun, are you gonna keep clinging to me like that?"

Katsuki realized that he was still hugging Kirishima. He blushed a little and stepped a few steps away.

"Why isn't he talking?" Kendo wondered.

"It's another side effect," Kirishima explained. "He can't talk while he's like this. I'm sure that when it's lifted, he'll be back to screaming at everything and everyone."

Katsuki swatted his shoulder, earning a laugh from Kirishima. Unfortunately, it was distorted to be more wicked and the blond had to look away, visibly shaking.

"Wait, so... that scared him?"

Kirishima shrugged. "It probably looked like a villain laugh or something, I dunno. A blank face is probably the best way to go so you don't end up scaring him."

"Oh... I see. Anyway, sorry about Monoma, and I hope you're able to lift the Quirk soon. Bye!"

Kendo ran off, dragging Monoma behind her.

"I'm glad Kendo was able to come along and knock Monoma out before it went too far. Right, Bakugou-kun?"

Katsuki nodded.

"Come on, let's go back to the dorms."
