The small town of Stars Hollow was full of gossip and speculation. First Luke's nephew Jess moved to town bringing all the trouble (from New York) with him. And now the reason for all the buzz was none other than their very own Lorelai Gilmore.

For the last couple of weeks, she had been running around the house, cleaning, getting Luke to fix parts of it. And now a truck full of boxes had just arrived at her door. Setting Bebette to run to Miss Patty to inform her of the newest developments.

No matter what crazy idea the town came up with, none of them were correct. Not even close. She wasn't moving, nor she had a secret husband moving in with her. No, she had a daughter she gave birth to seventeen years ago that she saw only on Christmas at her parent's Christmas party. That now was going to live with her.

She had named her daughter after herself and given her the nickname Rory when she was born and her son Joshua - Josh. Several hours after the babies were born she realized that at sixteen she couldn't be a mother. To everyone's surprise Christopher Hayden ( Rory's father) stepped in and after getting full custody of the babies and took them and moved to Boston. The Haydens always took several days around Christmas to go to Hartford to be with the Gilmores, but never went to Stars Hollow. So mother and daughter had only Christmas to bound.

Haydens have lived in Boston since they came with the Mayflowers. And are now part of the Boston Brahmins ( or Boston elite). In fact, they practically created it, together with the old upper class in the country.

Rory was going to be living with Lorelai because she was tired, tired of her father not being around. Tired of trying to be the "perfect society" heiress. So after being expelled from her boarding school and long reflection that the Hayden grandparents can not take care of her with their busy schedule. She decided the best option for her is to try to have a relationship with her mother. The woman that gave birth to her and then abandoned them.

The small town was almost holding its breath waiting to find out what was causing Lorelai to run around and be even crazier than she already was. Luckily for the town, they didn't have to wait long.
