Leafpool's Advice
I awoke early and headed to find my new apprentice. She was still pretty shaken up from yesterday's events, so would any other cat in the Clan.
She was waiting outside of the entrance when I arrived. Her short black and red-brown fur flowed in the light of the sun. Her amber eyes brightened a little when she saw me.
"Good morning Leafpool" Cinderpaw says, in a quiet voice. I smiled warmly in greeting, we then made our way to the medicine den to begin her training.
"So, what will I learn first?" Cinderpaw asked, her eyes shining with excitement. I laughed quietly, she was so eager and excited to learn about herbs and treatments.
"Organizing the medicine herbs and helping injected kits. Cinderpaw, could you take these poppy seeds to Ivykit would you?" I asked, and she nodded and headed over to the other end of the den where Ivykit lay, her eyes bandied from getting attacked by a dog.
"No way! I don't want to eat those!" Ivykit yelled, wackiness Cinderpaw with her small Silver wry-blue paw. I sighed and patted over to Ivykit, she was Frostpelt's kit, and she was pretty stubborn and snarky.
"Come on Ivykit, you need to take those seeds to help you rest, if you don't take your medicine then you won't be able to become an apprentice when your old enough." I say, knowing this was the only way to get Ivykit to take her medicine.
Ivykit pouted but did as she was told, I sighed and smiled greatly at Cinderpaw who was wide-eyed.
"StarClan how did you do that Leafpool?" Cinderpaw asked, and I just laughed and flicked my tail. She sighed and I went back to mixing herbs while Cinderpaw swept up the dried leaves.
"Why are we sweeping up these dry leaves? Can't they be used to make medicine to?" Cinderpaw asked and I shook my head. She frowned and tilted her head questioningly at me.
"Dead and dry leaves can't be used in treatments, there's no use for them." I explained and Cinderpaw listened with wrapped attention.
"Your really smart Leafpool." Cinderpaw says, staring at me with amazement and aw. I smiled and chucked softly.
"Well I am a medics cat after all, I have to know about these things." I said and Cinderpaw nodded.
"Now stop asking so many questions Cinderpaw, we need to get back to work." I say, and she nods and returns to sweeping the dead leaves.
'For a shy and quiet cat, she sure can ask a paw full amount of questions.' I thought with an amused smile on my face. I looked at Cinderpaw as she swept the leaves into a small basket and proceeded to fill it with more leaves. 'she sure is an efficient worker.' I thought, I was glad to be her mentor, she learns fast.
