Chapter Two:
In the driveway of the Forman's home, Kelso's van is being loaded up, Eric, Hyde, and Fez are on the side, talking, Kelso and Bob are loading up the luggage.
Eric - I can't believe we're actually doing this.
Kelso - Yeah, Good thing we're driving my cousin's van.
Eric - Kelso, where is you van at?
Kelso - It smelled like fish, so me and my cousin traded vehicles for the summer.
Hyde - Kelso, this looks exactly like your old van.
Kelso - I know, isn't that something.
He resumes loading their luggage.
Kelso - This is great, man. We're like the Beverly Hillbillies.
Fez - Hyde, What is California?
Hyde - Fez, California is what we call a paradise.
Kelso - Plus, there's tons of beautiful women there.
Fez - Is there really?
Kelso - Yeah, man.
Fez - Wow. Let's go!
Hyde - Relax, Fez, we still gotta pick our bags.
Fez - I know. I'm just excited.
Hyde - I know, man. I know. Quick, let's pack our stuff.
Fez and Hyde go to the side of the van, The sliding door opens, the Formans come out, and talk to Eric and Bob.
Kitty - Almost ready?
Eric - Yeah, just waiting on Jackie to arrive.
Kitty - Now, promise to call us when you get there.
Bob - Will do.
Red - Not you, Bob.
Eric - Don't worry, I'll call when we get to a phone.
Red - By the way, if you mess up, I will fly over there, and put my foot in your ass.
Eric - Yes, sir.
Red - Good, have a nice trip.
Bob heads to the van, The Formans go back inside their house, Jackie finally arrives.
Jackie - Michael, what is this?
Kelso - We're going on a road trip.
Jackie - In that thing?
Fez - Yeah, all of us.
Jackie - Okay, Michael, I am not riding in a filthy crowded van all the way across the country.
Kelso - Well, damn, Jackie. How else are we gonna get there?
Jackie - I can tell you how. Flying.
Kelso - Flying?, like you have your own plane?
Jackie - No, more like fly in a plane, Michael.
Kelso - You can buy us plane tickets?
Jackie - Duh!
Fez - I always wanted to fly.
He turns to Fez.
Kelso - No, Fez, Me and Jackie are gonna fly.
Fez - Oh.
Kelso turns back to Jackie.
Kelso - Ok, we're flying.
Jackie - Good, now let's go pack, we can buy our tickets for the next flight out.
Kelso (Enthusiastically) - Ok, let's go!
Eric - Hey, what about the van?
Kelso - Oh yeah.
Kelso runs over to Bob.
Kelso - Bob, Here's the keys, we'll meet you there.
He grabs his suitcase, then him and Jackie run off. Eric and Hyde watch them.
Hyde - There they go.
Eric - Yup. At least we don't have to deal with either of them.
Hyde - I agree.
Bob - Alright, fellas, let's get going!
Hyde - Come on, Forman, Let's go look for your favorite red head.
Both of them get in the van.
Eric - Let the journey begin.
Bob cranks the ignition, the van pulls out of the driveway, and drives off.
A variation of the Beverly Hillbillies theme play over as the van drives over the map from Wisconsin, it makes a few wrong turns here and there.
Bob - Wrong way!
Eric - Fez, are you reading the map correctly?!
Fez - Oh, sure, blame the foreign kid for getting us lost.
Hyde - Fez, the map is upside down!
Fez - Oops, sorry.
The van then gets on the right track, en route to California.
They are traveling on the road through the desert, it's nighttime, Bob is driving, Fez is in the passenger seat, reading the map, in the back of the van, Hyde and Eric are talking.
Eric - This is nice. On the road with my friends and my neighbor, traveling across the country.
Hyde - Yup. Much better than what we usually do.
Eric - Yeah, I think we spend too much time in that basement. We should go look for a new spot when we get back.
Hyde - There's always my old house.
Eric - Really? No one lives there?
Hyde - My uncle uses it when he comes to visit.
Eric - Like when he's passing through town?
Hyde - No, when his wife kicks him out of the house.
Eric - Ok.
Hyde lays down and falls asleep, Eric looks out the window, at the night sky, thinking.
Eric - I wonder what Donna is doing right now.
