Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Devil and the Pack. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own DxD, Ichiei Ishibumi and a few others do.

Regis settled down in front of the home, his wings slowly fluttering.

"So cold…" Regis muttered to himself as he pulled his wings inwards. "So damn cold." Regis added and shook his head.

"REGY….!" He heard and turned to look over his shoulder as a dark-haired girl rushed up to him.

Regis hummed and watched as the girl swept him up which made him blink in shock. He looked at her with an interest that couldn't be sated easily.

"Aki…" Regis said, drawing his arms up to wrap around the girl who was in front of him. "I didn't… Someone is after me." Regis said and shook his head with frustration.

Regis could hardly understand what he was going to do. Those thugs would come after him again, and unlike last time? They would hunt him as soon as possible. An escape would be next to impossible at the moment.

But the knowing smirk he got from his friend showed that she knew what he meant.

"Dad said they'd come after you sooner or later." Aki said while she poked him on the forehead. "Is your mom, ok?" Aki asked as Regis shook his head.

"I don't know what they did to her, Aki." Regis said and looked up at the dark sky. "I don't know what to do, Aki. Their going to hunt her. They want me for some reason, I think it's mom's necklace." Regis said while checking around him at the moment.

He could only ponder how long it would be before they came back to hunt him. There would be plenty of time for that though later soon enough.

Aki looked at her old playmate with amusement at his fright. She had always seen him scared or embarrassed around him… And it never failed to amuse her how much her playmate used to be terrified around her.

"Aki, stop!" Regis said as he looked at her with interest. "You know I'm scared, why do you think I'm using your nickname instead of your name? You always like teasing me like this!" Regis said while he shook his head and sat down on the ground.

Regis knew for a fact that she was simply playing with him. She always played with him, driving him up a wall amused her more then anything. There was no end to this madness that was hunting him.

However? Things were far more interesting then she made it appear. He could only ponder what was going to happen next.

"Aki!" Regis said as he turned to sigh and shake his head with annoyance. "You always mess with me like this." Regis stated as he turned to look to the side.

Regis could only ponder what was happening. He knew people didn't like him, but they were hunting him like an animal. His people weren't animals, they were creatures of intelligence and class.

"Your like a big puppy dog." Aki said as Regis shook his head and started to pull his legs up to his chest. "And you've always been on my side. We've been friends for far longer then you remember." Aki said and sat down next to him. Regis hummed and started looking around with interest.

"You know their going to hunt me… And I don't think I can stop them." Regis stated and shook his head once more as he started looking around before shaking head.

Aki said nothing as she sat down next to Regis who was quite tired and exhausted. He wanted peace; he didn't know what peace would be at the moment. He was exhausted, and he could only ponder how long it would be until they hunted him down again.

And there would be no escape from that. They would come and take him, and there was no way he would survive against them…. His powers weren't on par with his mother's. She was a warrior. He was just a child, and that made him vulnerable against others that could haunt him.

And people would hunt him down soon enough. It was only a matter of sense until they got the scent of him.

"We should go inside." Aki stated as Regis shook his head and started to look around with interest. "My parents will handle them if they come. You know how protective they've been since they heard what happened to them back then." Aki put in as she looked around once more.

There would be far much more work to do soon enough. Far more then Regis cared to handle at the moment.

Still? Things could not be that bad at the moment. Regis rubbed at his temples and slowly laid down. His wings wrapped into his face, quite curious about what came next in his life.

Aki giggled despite herself and patted Regis on the head as he blinked despite himself with surprise.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out that next chapter will be 900-1200 words and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show Akeno and Regis bonding more and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
