Jay was distracted for a microsecond. Time for a yawn.
All the criminals had been blocked and handcuffed. Unfortunately he hadn't noticed the boy who was hiding behind the sofa.
Taking advantage of the fact that everyone was busy and the detective was yawning, the latter sneaked silently from where he was.
Next to him was a window overlooking the garden. He climbed onto the marble and jumped out.
Jay immediately turned and shouted:
- Hey stop - and started running after him.
What the young detective had said had allowed the others on the team to realize what was happening.
Adam Ruzek who was watching the scene from above noticed the escape of one of the suspects and ran down the stairs of the building to be of support to Halstead, not before having looked Olinsky in the face as if to silently ask for his consent.
Jay had managed to pin the boy in an alley and there a fight had started. Kicks and punches flew.
Shortly after the boy like a lynx quickly looked around finding an iron wand.
He grabbed it and started hitting the detective repeatedly with it.
Each blow caused excruciating pain.
Jay tried hard to avoid the bar, but it wasn't easy.
The boy was damn good at hitting. Above all, he was good at figuring out where to hit.
Much of the torso was covered by the bulletproof vest so the blows in that area were more or less softened.
Yes, those few who got there.
The boy had hit Halstead in the left knee, in the right shoulder and finally in the head, on the forehead which immediately started bleeding at the cheekbone. Jay had fallen to the ground in pain.
