Chapter II
"I'm so glad you're finally coming home, Ash." Delia, Ash's mother, was saying. "It's been so long."
"Yeah. . ." Ash said, nodding slowly. Why am I going home, anyway? Ash wondered. He didn't voice his curiosities, however.
The girl whom Ash still didn't know the name of was sitting next to him, looking at a Pokedex. "So, I presume you heard about the good news in my letter. . ." Delia remarked.
". . . yeah, what was it?" Ash asked.
Delia tilted her head. "You remember. . . About your father?" She said.
Oh yeah. . . Ash did remember that girl mentioning something about his father, back when they were on that ship. . .
"So he's finally decided to show up, has he?" Ash asked, feeling slightly bitter. Not that he was angry at his father, but the whole thing with Pikachu was still fresh in his mind. . . Oh, Pikachu. How can you be gone?
Delia didn't say anything more as they arrived at Pallet Town, and headed towards Ash's house. He didn't see any sign of his father anywhere, though he did see Mr Mime waving to them as they neared. My father had better not be Mr Mime! Ash thought.
The car stopped, and Ash, Delia, and the mysterious girl got out. "So, is my father here already, or. . ?" asked Ash.
"No. He'll be coming this afternoon." Delia replied. They entered the house.
"Looks like a great place, Ash." The girl remarked. "Yeah. . ." Ash said. He headed towards his room, and she followed.
"You want something?" Ash asked, shooting a look at her.
"My, you have turned into a grump." The girl said teasingly. She frowned. "Still thinking about Pikachu?"
"Of course I'm still thinking about Pikachu!" Ash shouted. "I'm never going to forget him. I'm never-"
"Oh, Ash. . ." She touched his arm, looking downwards. "I know how you feel about this. . . I don't blame you. But I thought we'd already dealt with this. It's as if you don't remember anything."
"Actually," Ash said. "I don't even remember you."
The girl looked rather confused. The sound of a car arriving at the house could be heard. "Ash! Heather! Come down here!" Ash's mother called. "Ash's father is here!"
They headed down the stairs, and Ash felt a tingling of excitement, which he tried to push away. He barely had any memories of his father, and if he hadn't taken the time to see Ash or Delia these last ten years, then how good of a father could he be?
End of Chapter II
Sorry about how short that was. The next chapter might be a bit long(Not sure yet) so I didn't want to delay releasing this one by combining them.
