"Something's wrong

Got a feeling that I don't belong

As if I had come from outer space

Out of place, like King Kong"

I'm A Marionette - Ghost

Naruto wiped the blood that dripped from his mouth, and glared at Sasuke. Anger. Feed on it, they don't care about you. There was an uncanny hate in his eyes, and Sasuke took a step back in shock. He shook his head, surely he had imagined it?

"Dobe, why so angry?" He swiftly punched Naruto again, but Naruto didn't try to dodge.

Now concerned, Sasuke stopped and asked him, "Hey, what's wrong?" Naruto didn't respond merely grunting as he fought an internal battle to keep his anger under control. Lose control. Kill.

Kakashi watched the two in concern and signaled for the two to stop. "Naruto. Come here."

Sakura watched with her hands clasped together as Naruto didn't listen, merely staring at the ground. Kill. Kill. Kill.

Kakashi swiftly walked to him. "Naruto!" He said his name louder this time.

As he got no response he glared. "Naruto!" This time he put his hands on Naruto's shoulders and fiercely yelled at him.

Naruto's head quickly snapped up to look Kakashi in the eye. What Kakashi saw would haunt his dreams. Naruto's eyes were no longer the azure blue that always shone with cheer. They were no longer filled with happiness and love. Two blood red eyes stared back at him, the pupils harsh slits. Yes! Feel my power! "Get away from me!" Naruto growled at Kakashi and revealed two sharp fangs.

"I don't want to hurt you." Everyone could merely watch in shock as Naruto ran off, deaf to his friends' shouts for him to come back.

Kakashi braced himself for the worst as he knocked on the Hokage's office door.

"Come in." The Hokage's voice revealed no emotion as he awaited the report from the former ANBU.

"Hokage-sama." Kakashi gave a swift bow before he delivered the ill fated news.

"There's been an...incident...with Naruto." It was not like the skilled shinobi to stumble over his words, and Sarutobi sat up straighter, a grim look in his eyes.

"What happened?" Kakashi let out a deep sigh, he hated to think about what will happen to Naruto.

"He lost control. I...think. One moment he was fine. But, then I saw his eyes. Those were not Naruto's eyes, those were the eyes of the demon fox."

The Hokage stared at Kakashi with shock, he had seen Naruto countless times and none of those times had he any indication something was wrong.

"What do you mean? Are you sure?" He knew Kakashi wouldn't lie, but the truth was too unbelievable.

"I know it's true, as I believe I've seen it once before, but only for a moment. It was during the battle at the Land of the Waves. I could feel the presence of a terribly strong chakra, coming from Naruto. His eyes were red as I saw earlier today, but I only saw it for a second. I assumed it was nothing, but I was wrong."

Kakashi lowered his head slightly in shame. Perhaps he could have prevented this had he said something earlier.

"Kakashi. Do not blame yourself. If the boy has truly lost control, then it is the entire village that has failed him. We cannot make any hasty decisions yet, I assume you know not to speak a word of this to anyone."

Kakashi nodded his head. "Of course."

Sarutobi lowered his eyes onto his desk in thought. "The question now remains, what to do with this information?" He sighed.

Kakashi's voice prompted the Hokage to look up. "I will watch him and try to get him to speak about what is afflicting him. I don't want any harm to come to him, I know Naruto would never want to hurt anyone. The boy is far too kindhearted."

Sarutobi knew the alternative was to take the boy prisoner and interrogate him. They were dealing with the infamous Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, after all. However, he had grown fond of Naruto too. "Very well. But Kakashi, should he lose control that could be a death sentence for the village. You must not let your emotions get in the way of sound judgement."

Kakashi bowed low, showing his gratefulness. "Of course. Thank you, Hokage-sama. He will not lose control, not if I can help it."

Sarutobi merely waved his hand in dismissal. "You may go now." He was not feeling particularly optimistic about the situation.
