Wander let the nice May breeze blow through his orange fur while other kids ran past him as they went out to play while stayed put on the steps. Mr. Lutz turned from watching the children play to look back at Wander who just leaned against the left white metal railing. Mr. Lutz walked over and crowtched down to reached Wander's height.
"What's botherin' you today, Wandy?" Mr. Lutz asked.
"Just thinking," Came the reply to the older Star Nomad's question. "About my birth parents."
"What about them?" Mr. Lutz asked.
"Like if they were nice, if they were forced to give me away, and if they were both Star Nomads." Wander just listed a few of his growing thoughts in his brain.
"Well maybe they were nice and maybe they were or weren't forced to put you up for adoption." Wander knew Mr. Lutz was trying his best to be gentle about the topic. Wander only sighed, stood, and started to walk over to the playground.
"I'll be on the swings again, Mr. Lutz." Wander told the adult Star Nomad.
"Oh," Was all Mr. Lutz had said in response. "Well...have fun!"

"Wander!" Fletcher Stark shouted as Wander got closer to swings.
Fletcher Michael Stark had been Wander's best friend since the two were babies, only two weeks younger than Wander, the Watchdog saw Wander as a big brother figure while Wander had also seen Fletcher as a little brother. Fletcher already had a swing saved for Wander and Wander got on the swing before the other children could. Wander kicked his legs back and forth just like he had been taught at four-years-old and he started swinging.
"The trains." Was all Fletcher spoke to Wander after two minutes of swinging.
Wander stopped swinging and looked at the Watchdog child who still continued to swing. "The Train" as Fletcher was referring to one of the trains the ran through the Serenity Beach Route train station on Moonlight Street in Chaepstow. The train in particular was what the children at New Connections Orphan Home called, Golden Eagle. Golden Eagle was many children's escape train from the orphanage, as long as you knew how to hide, you could escape and be free. But besides being caught being one problem, it was also money. Yes there was babysitting and mowing somebody's yard, but not everybody needed a babysitter all the time and not everybody needed their yard mowed all the time.
"Fletch, you can't be serious." Wander whispered.
"I am." Fletcher whispered right back. "I'm sick of this place Wandy, and I want to get out there. I want to leave the galaxy, I want to explore everywhere in the universe."
Fletcher had been looking to the left of the fence while he talked, five miles down was the train station, then he turned to Wander.
"What about you Wandy?" Fletcher asked.
Wander took a couple of seconds, the posibilities still going through his head. But Wander pushed them back and nodded at the younger boy.
"Alright, let's do it."
