Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Darkness over Mewni. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own SVFOE, Disney and a few others do.

"Quinn? How are things?" Quinn heard from Horst as he hummed.

"Fine, Horst. I'm fine." Quinn said while brushing off his arms. "Are you alright, princess? Me and my partner came as soon as needed." Quinn said while he rested his hands on his hilt.

Eclipsa looked between the two knights who were guarding her. She hummed and nodded.

"Yes, Quinn, I am fine." Eclipsa put in as Quinn nodded as he turned and looked to the side. "What have you both been up to in the mean time?" Eclipsa asked the duo who turned to the princess.

"Nothing that interesting, princess." Quinn pointed out while he put his arms on his hips. "I don't know what's happening at the moment. I'm sure that the others will have more stories to tell next time." Quinn added with a hum.

"So, you don't want to talk about how we're dealing with ambushes?" Horst pointed out as Quinn turned to Horst. "Your usually the military guy between the both of us." Horst added which was greeted by a click of Quinn's armor.

Eclipsa looked between the knights while Quinn hummed. He shook his hands back and forth. Quinn looked at the princess for a moment.

"I doubt princess Eclipsa wants to hear about the war, Horst." Quinn said before rubbing at his eyes. "Anyway, we are at your beck and call as always, your highness." Quinn said and hung his head slightly.

Eclipsa walked away with Quinn and Horst following after her as she spoke.

"Did my mother call for me?" Eclipsa asked as Quinn shook his head to the side.

"No, we came to get you for whatever you might have planned for today." Quinn said and placed a hand on his hilt. "Your plans today are our plans." Quinn said before leaning on the wall.

He knew very well that the princess was upset. Nobody like being reminded of the war. It was nothing but suffering on Mewni. There was nothing anyone wanted to dwell on.

That was why their queen was rallying monsters to deal with such a thing. They'd be out of the war soon enough and able to focus on other things like keeping their kingdom intact and alive.

"So, you both came to check on me out of the goodness of your hearts? That's nice." Eclipsa said while Quinn nodded. "I would like to go to the garden." Eclipsa stated to which both Quinn and Horst nodded.

"Then the garden is where we shall go, your highness." Quinn said as he curled his arms. "Anything else we should add to the list today?" Quinn asked as he put his hands on his hips.

"No, not off the top of my head." Eclipsa stated as she looked between the duo. "Do you think we're be able to talk to my mother when this is over?" Eclipsa asked while Quinn nodded.

"I'll get the queen when she isn't to busy as soon as possible." Quinn said while Horst smiled.

"Time for more royal adventures!" Horst yelled which was stopped by Quinn turned to look around. "I'm sure that we're run into some adventure to tell the others about." Horst said while Quinn shook his head once more.

"Horst, nobody looks for adventure." Quinn stated as they started walking once more. "You know that. You know what we're dealing with. You know how much people want to keep their minds on better things at the moment… This blasted war is causing us to be cut apart." Quinn said while Horst shook his head back and forth.

"Yes, this war is a curse on all of Mewni." Eclipsa stated as she looked between the duo. "There's hopefully some end to it." Eclipsa said while patting her hands on her dress.

"Couldn't agree more." Quinn said while resting a hand atop his armored head. "There's been far too much suffering for one lifetime. I'd like to be rest knowing Mewni is safe for good from monsters." Quinn added as the trio started their walk towards the royal gardens.

Quinn could see something was troubling the young princess. He was sure they'd find a way to clear that up sooner or later. He would question the best way to find a way to deal with that. The last thing he wanted to do was upset the princess and future ruler of Mewni' s throne.

"I'm starting to wonder if you have favorite guards among the dozens." Horst said which earned another glare as they walked.

"Why would someone have favorite guards, Horst? Most of us look the same." Quinn said while he turned. "Besides, it isn't like someone can tell us apart unless we aren't wearing armor. This stuff is ceremonial for a reason." Quinn added as he shook his head back and forth once more.

"I can." Eclipsa said with a smile before Quinn stopped.

"Beg pardon, your highness?" Quinn questioned as he blinked.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out this wont be following the show hopefully. Next chapter will be in 2-9 months and will show more talking and show why Eclipsa favors some of her guards and all that. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
