Paralogue 1 – Be Careful What You Wish For
…flickering screens, laughing voices and the sound of the old clock on the wall. That's what he was used to for the past few years now and even then, there was a part that was tired of it. How everyone at was laughing and talked about the sports and games they played in their downtime. How happy they are. And yet… then there was him. Sitting in front of the flickering computer was a boy who seemed so lifeless. So… tired of everything. Sitting in his chair doing his job because that was all he knew how to do now.
Why do I keep doing this job?
It's a question that had plagued him for years as he looked up at the clock again. Why? Because he wanted to make a difference. That was him. Shunso Kamata. Dreamer, thinker, and Intelligence Officer extraordinaire. That computer screen was his life as he used the skills he learned over the years from surveillance and hacking. Yeah… he was the less glamourous side of the police force but one that was needed. Whether it was wiretapping or just analysing the information collected, he was the man behind the screen who assisted the detectives. He was the Otacon to the detectives Solid Snake. …Or at least it would be if there was any connection. No. He was just the guy with information. However, he would have to stop this 'life of excitement' to start school. Why? Because he was accepted to Hope's Peak. He should be celebrating, right? Well from the laughs in the work place this time? Not really…
Ultimate Intelligence Officer huh? God… this is my life huh? I know that I'm not the most unique but for fuck sake. Did the others have to laugh it up for me doing my fucking job good enough? I swear… they are the most arrogant pricks to exist. And of course THEY join in…
Slowly moving away from his desk, Shunso decided he had enough. Packing up his laptop & everything, he put on his backpack wheeled to the door as his boss give a somber nod. Honestly, now-a-days, his boss was the only one on his side. Either way, he wheeled himself out the door towards nearby subway as he felt his frustration growing more and more. People were looking at him the same… a weak kid who's crippled. Well fuck them. Ignoring the looks, he got into the subway train as he pulled out his phone. Looking up "Hope's Peak" he found some new articles on the newest 'Ultimates of Hope'… "What a load of horseshit."
Shunso frowned at some of the Ultimates. Did he hate his talent? Did he hate Hope's Peak? …No. Honestly, he didn't hate it at all. To be appreciated for all the hard work he put in? Was honestly just incredible. Especially it was shown how it wasn't just the agents who took down the drug bust but rather his intel and hacking bringing them out. But god… it just reminded him of some of his coworkers who he honestly just tired of. Either way… he looked around and noticed a class list. Huh… he never did check that email yet. Thankfully, he got the basics on each of the upcoming Ultimates. …But then his phone turned off.
"What the fuck?" Shunso was certain he had charged his phone. But then again… it might have been his faulty battery. "Knew I should have replaced the damn battery. God this is gonna hurt my wallet…" Pocketing his phone, he looked up to find himself at his house. Entering and locking the door behind him, he rolled himself to his room as he took off his earpiece and put it in his backpack. Plugging in his phone and putting his backpack down, he pulled himself off his wheelchair and laid down on his bed. Looking up at his ceiling, he sighed. And as he made a wish internally, tired of the day and everything around him, Shunso turned off his lamp and closed his eyes. Drifting off to sleep, he never heard the sound of crashing glass or gas filling the room as he felt very tired. You know what they say…
I know I'm set… I know that but… for once. Just once. I want to be in the limelight. I want a chance to shine. Face danger. Just… not be the guy stuck in a chair that people forget about.
Be careful what you wish for.

Hey everyone! PurpleSweetness here with a small little passage I wrote. I know it's not super long and such but… I was excited! The due date for this SYOC is June 12th and yet there are already a ton of submissions! So, I was excited and getting a little impatient since I was hyped up. So… I wrote this.
This isn't much but it's a small little bit of background for Shunso that I won't go into until the story. There's a lot in this guy and I wanna talk about it butttttttt… I'm saving it. This is all you guys get!
