What would you rate Dragon Ball Super out of 10?

For me personally, it would be a 5 or 6, it's alright at some points, but very inconsistent with its writing.

The writers could have someone do like 10 push-ups and body Beerus no cap lmao. Power scaling was whack lol.

Ka...me...ha...me...CHAPTER!

I do not own 'Dragon Ball' or 'The Gamer'

I took another deep breath as I sat cross-legged outside of the house.

Goku was currently out on another hunting trip as our appetite forced us to search for food every so often.

It's been a few weeks since I've taken over this body, and I was currently using my [Meditation] skill to not only increase its level, but I was planning on achieving one goal.

Ki.

Life-force energy.

The main power system in Dragon Ball.

While Goku was able to utilize it when watching the turtle hermit, it was much harder to understand it on your own.

This energy was in all life, from the tiniest of ants, to the largest of dinosaurs, everybody possessed it. The ability to use it was linked to one's inner spirit and meditation with a lot of reflection upon themselves allowed people to access this power.

I'm a part of the Saiyan race, which meant it was easier for my species to unlock it. I've upped my training with my brother as even though he is still stronger at the moment, the rift between us was quickly shortening.

At the rate we were going, we'd both be stronger than Goku's counterpart that met Bulma as we had a sparring partner to practice against, which was helpful given our biology allowed us to adapt to each other's moves. Once I gained the ability to use my Ki, I would also teach him how to do it as well which would help us immensely down the line.

Especially with how the Pilaf Arc was basically them trying to take over the world using the Dragon Balls.

My goal for it was to use it to magnify my power, similar to how Roshi could turn into a buff form, but I don't want to get that ripped every time I do it. On the subject of forms, I may need to consider training my Oozaru form so I don't go berserk whenever I look at the full moon, the problem with that is I have no idea how to achieve that, so I'll have to figure that out on my own eventually.

As I continued to ponder on my plans, I felt the fence I was pushing against begin to crack. It was as if a waterfall was overflowing every fiber of my being. I concentrated on that feeling, the number of fractures in the barrier started to increase and became more noticeable as time went on. The size of the fissures became more prominent as it continued to swirl around pushing to come out.

Then it exploded outward, like a dam breaking, before receding and converting into a small sphere.

Glancing down the list, I noticed that I had two Battle Power which prompted me to raise an eyebrow.

Was this my buffed state because of unlocking my Ki?

My eyebrows furrowed collectively as I tried to understand the new skill.

Looking at the numbers once more, the 1 increase would have to be based on my level and proficiency in it respectively. The amount of energy I had was basically my STR, DEX, and VIT added together then multiplied by 2.

+1 INT

That makes sense, if my knowledge of Ki is correct, then it should be the embodiment of 3 things.

Energy.

Courage.

Mind.

Without them, Ki wouldn't exist at all.

It would explain why Saiyans are easily able to learn different things as they are essentially the manifestation of those words.

The ability to keep going in a fight, energy.

The willingness to not give up, courage.

The thought of constantly surpassing your limits by battling a powerful opponent, mind.

I entered the sphere, it was strange because I could barely even feel it, but everybody had to start somewhere. Like a bubble, I started to test its boundaries, this was my life force, and destroying it completely when it's in the beginning stages will permanently cripple my ability to access it.

The energy within me was barely strengthening my body. I've noticed that the [Ki Enhancement] skill wasn't draining anything, I likely have to fight in order to strain and increase its level.

This was the first step to using this energy, I'll have to work on creating other techniques next.

"I'm back!" I overheard a shout as Goku returned with a sabertooth tiger hung over his shoulder, "I got a big one this time!"

"I'll skin it while you make some room in the fridge," I explained as we made our way inside to do the task.

The animals around Mount Paozu had a maximum Battle Power of 20, and even then, that was extremely rare. Both Goku and I regularly wiped the floor with any kind of predator that tried to attack us. I haven't seen the iconic dinosaurs roaming about, but I suppose they generally stay in the plains biome.

My fraternal twin started moving things within the freezer as I began the skinning process. When it came to preparing food, I was quite a reasonable amount better than my sibling. While I didn't have a recipe or anything of the sort, cooking just came naturally to me.

I probably got it from Gine.

"All done!" Goku announced as trudged over to see my progress, "I can't wait to eat, I'm starving!"

I responded with a small smile, but I glanced over to face him.

"Goku, why don't you go read the book I told you to."

"Awww," He said in displeasure at my request, "Do I have to?"

"If you finish the first few pages by the time I'm done with this, we can fight."

Like the naive boy he was, Goku paused for a moment, before he rushed to the small bookshelf and opened it just as quickly.

It was so easy to get him to do something, but this was to his benefit. His personality itself was fine, the problem was his lack of understanding things, and I honestly don't blame him for that.

He's lived his entire life in the mountains and it's only natural he doesn't comprehend things like the average person could. I'm honestly surprised he didn't become a feral animal, but I suppose his Saiyan instincts wouldn't allow him to regress.

This was ironic since we can turn into mad rampaging apes.

"Goku, you better not just be skimming through it like last time," I sent a glare towards him as he gave me a nervous smile, "I want you to tell me a summary afterward, got it."

"Okay, Saru." He shivered and gulped at the intensity of my stare, "I'll read."

I could be scary when I need to be.

"You better." I stated as he stuffed his nose with the book, "It's for your own good."

He groaned, but did what he was told.

I turned my attention back to preparing the food, I was starving just like he was, but I wouldn't admit it.

Being a Saiyan can be troublesome.

The wind brushed up against my hair as I stood in a combative stance.

Goku was in front of me with his tail wagging around. We were both excited, it was our instincts that gave us the thrill of a battle, but my concentration was purely on the person in front of me.

Just as I promised, it was time for our regular spars we had with each other. I was the one who proposed we fight more often, and Goku being who he was, didn't refuse at all.

I closed my eyes and focused on my breathing before they shot open.

This time I was the first to move as I launched forward with my foot aimed at his head. Goku moved to his right as I landed on the ground, he was trying to get into my blind spot, but I knew better. I took a page from him and delivered a roundhouse kick in his direction, but he blocked it by putting his arms in a cross as he skids across the dirt.

"That hurt!" Goku exclaimed, but had a wide smile on his face, "You're getting better and better!"

I didn't respond as I rushed at him once more.

Saiyans are able to adapt within a battle and can overcome an opponent through subconsciously reading their moves.

It was as if I was running on my own, studying his attacks, and countering every strike he dished out.

Gohan had only taught us the basics of fighting and defending, but he never really delved into a specific style to teach us.

I'll have to figure that part out on my own.

I felt my Ki strengthen my body, albeit very slightly, but enough to give Goku more trouble.

Learning how to use energy on my own without a reference was a gradual process. I didn't want to attempt flying right now as I was sure that I didn't have the power to sustain it.

At this point, I was probably even weaker than Videl who casually dodged bullets. Goku couldn't even do that at the beginning of the series, then again he didn't know what the technology was so I didn't exactly know if he could or not.

I ducked under another blow that went over my head and danced my way to my brother's back and grabbed hold of his tail. His entire body froze as I could see him cringing as his teeth were exposed and he fell to the ground.

"Give up Goku," I ordered as his mouth was agape, but he reluctantly gave me a thumbs up.

Letting go of his tail, he took a few labored breaths, before he jumped up and addressed me with a glare.

"That was cheating Saru!" He huffed as I rolled my eyes, "I don't try to grab your tail when we fight!"

It was time I taught him a lesson in cheaters. Goku let go of Raditz's tail because he believed in people changing, and I don't blame him. Yamcha turned around, Tien turned a new leaf, and Piccolo was assisting him in a fight.

The problem was trying to push this narrative onto everyone and especially people who didn't deserve it. Teaching Goku this lesson would be a gradual process, but I was sure that it would cultivate itself in the end.

"True, but remember what grandpa told us," I stated as he tilted his head to the side, "Not everyone will play fair."

"I know, but…" The spiky-haired boy frowned as I put my hand on his shoulder.

"How about I whip up something for you to eat by yourself," I said as he perked up, "Will that be fair?"

"You bet!" Goku grinned as we quickly made our way back inside the house.

Increased reputation with Son Goku (Kakarot).

Huh, that's new.

A reputation system can be pretty useful, so I'm glad I have it.

I wonder...

'Reputation'

Reputation

(Cursed- Despised - Hated - Disliked - Neutral - Friendly - Trusted - Honored - Exalted)

Son Gohan (Deceased) - Exalted

Son Goku (Kakarot) - Exalted

Gine (Deceased) - Honored

Bardock (Deceased) - Friendly

Raditz - Neutral

My eyebrows furrowed together as I finished looking over the information.

I didn't know Goku and Gohan regarded me so highly, I felt my lips turn into a smile before I studied the other people I had a status with.

Gine, my mother, I was honored with her?

Was this universe based on Dragon Ball Minus or something along the lines of the Bardock special?

Perhaps it was a combination of the two.

Bardock being friendly with me was a surprise given he had the attitude of a normal Saiyan. Then again, it could be because of his relationship with Gine.

I blinked as a few questions formed in my head.

If Bardock could see the future...what did he know about me?

Was that why his reputation was friendly?

Did he see what I would become?

I placed that thought at the back of my head as now Raditz came to the forefront.

His reputation with me was just neutral and that made sense. He doesn't know that much about me or 'Kakarot' as we were likely in baby pods at the time.

He was a throw-away villain and was needed in order to introduce the fact that there are things beyond planet Earth. From the Saiyans, the Otherworld, and King Kai's planet, he was the catalyst that opened up everything to the cast.

I'm glad I have Goku as my brother, but I don't really want to kill Raditz as he's the only other blood relative I have.

My second quest and it's a tough one.

While I want to turn Raditz good, this wasn't just 'being stronger than him' it was a psychological thing all Saiyans had once they were born. If I just beat the hell out of him and said to join my cause, from his point of view that would make me just like Vegeta and Nappa.

I need to give him an actual reason instead of beating him down and forcing my will like I'm a tyrant. He's had enough of that from Frieza.

+2 INT +1 WIS

Vegeta staying evil didn't really bother me, I could just kill him if it came down to it, but I'll try to save the guy if I could.

In the end, I accepted the quest as having another Saiyan join the fight to protect Earth would be very helpful.

"Hey, Saru!" I heard my brother shout as I glanced over to the house, "Are we going to eat or what?!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!" I replied by rushing into the house to meet a hopeful Goku, who sat on a chair and eagerly awaited his food.

"Took you long enough," He giggled as I quickly started to work on the boar we both found.

"Hey, Goku…" I semi-whispered, but his ears twitched as he looked at me.

"Yeah?" He said, staring at me impassively.

"Thank you," I turned around and gave him a small smile, "I appreciate it."

"Huh? For what?" He questioned as I chuckled a bit.

"I just wanted to say it, that's all."

My response prompted him to giggle even more as I watched with a strange look.

"You're funny Saru!" He put his hands on his mouth as I just watched with a raised eyebrow, "You think too much!"

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, taking a moment to pause in skinning the boar.

"It doesn't matter what you do," His hands were now to his side as they now revealed a wide grin, "I will always help you! You're my brother!"

My eyes widened as I stared at my brother who was currently laughing in his seat.

He read right through me like a book.

Ironically, I said it that way given how he dislikes reading, but it's what I meant.

I always knew Goku was sharp, though not in the conventional 'book smart' kind of way. It would be more accurate to say he's emotionally intelligent. He's shown throughout the series that he understands people on a deeper level than what most think he would be capable of doing.

"You big dummy…" I muttered as I wiped my eyes, while he merely wagged his tail in response.

It was at this point I made an oath, never to let my brother be killed. I'll be damned if someone tries to hurt him, they'll have to go through me first.

I directed my attention back to the animal as I returned to the skinning process.

The food wouldn't make itself after all.

Alongside the moon, the stars twinkled in the night.

The silence was only quenched by my footsteps as I sped through the woods, making my way deeper into the forest.

At this point, I was dozens of miles away from home, and for a good reason.

It was time for me to train what was in my blood.

The Oozaru transformation.

I needed to be very far from where Goku was because if I failed to do this, I would likely kill him. I would never be able to live with myself if I did that. The power granted by the form will undoubtedly be extremely helpful, as I knew the multiplier was 10 even without the system telling me.

Of course, I didn't just come here without a plan in mind.

Grandpa had a pair of sunglasses lying around in one of his cabinets and I thought it would be a good idea to use them now. Saiyans need a certain amount of blutz waves from the moon to turn into a giant ape. By using the sunglasses, I could drastically decrease the amount, at least in theory.

Dragon Ball was always strange with its logic so this was just a guess based on what I knew of the transformation.

The trees started to drift apart as now a large open field was in plain view.

This was the perfect place to start my training.

Getting to the clearing, I took a deep breath as I grabbed the sunglasses from my inventory and put them on.

The moon was in full view as I gradually shifted my head to face it.

Now, I considered myself a fairly calm person. I became the rational person in the house ever since Gohan had passed away, and considering Goku's whacky quirks, I had to be.

Let me ask you this though, have you ever thought of the angriest point in your life?

That sensation of pure fury that made you not care what would happen next?

Take that feeling, and multiply it by one hundred.

Even with the glasses on, my breathing rapidly increased as my eyes were still locked onto the moon. With every exhale, I felt the blood in my body begin to pump at an alarming rate. The sheer amount of rage I was feeling was absolutely insane.

I hastily grabbed the back of my head with both of my hands and pulled my head downwards.

For a few seconds, I just stood there, until my legs collapsed and I fell to my knees. The amount of hatred that was running through my veins was something I wasn't entirely prepared for. I was honestly expecting [Gamer's Mind] to help, but I suppose that was only wishful thinking.

[Gamer's Mind] itself was helpful, though it did say 'extreme emotions can bypass this', which meant I was going to have to train the hard way.

How the hell was Vegeta able to control it?

I was relieved that the sunglasses actually stopped my transformation, who knows what kind of disaster could've happened if it didn't.

I blinked twice as I received a notification.

I let a sigh escape my lips as I finished reading the new information.

I was glad that I could measure my progress with this state, but if I had to go through hell just to master this ability then I might just meet King Yemna sooner.

I suspect that it was easier for Vegeta because he was a 'Saiyan elite' which gave him the genes to very comfortably go into the form. He was a hardhead, after all, if he was a low-class Saiyan, then he'd never be able to control it.

There's a phrase that I remember in my past life, 'pain doesn't always make things better'. It's funny how my race is the literal opposite of that.

With another deep breath, I readjusted the sunglasses and looked upwards once more.

Learning the hard way it was.
