Chapter Two
Shortly after Link got up and spoke with Impa, Princess Zelda woke up and got out of bed early too, eager to start her day and spend time with her hero. About a century ago, before the Great Calamity hit, Link and Zelda weren't afraid to confess their feelings for each other.
They'd been secretly planning on taking trips to the lake or sharing meals together, when Ganon struck, Zelda and Link's plans were put on hold. But now, with Hyrule safe, the hero and the princess were free to go out together as long as they did their best to help with rebuilding Hyrule.
So far, Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno, Castle Town and Lon-Lon Ranch had finally been rebuilt. At this point, the only other places left in Hyrule that were in need of restoration were Mabe Village, the Coliseum and other random settlements.
Today, reconstruction wasn't the only thing on the princess' mind as she was thinking about spending time with her hero. Zelda was visiting Akkala Valley, inspecting the Citadel and visiting some friends in Tarrey Town before heading back to Kakariko to see Link.
But first, the princess had decided to get some fresh air and bathe in the Spring of Wisdom. Strolling through the grassy field near the citadel, the Hylian princess looked lovely this morning with her hair tied back in a ponytail while wearing a white bathrobe.
While Zelda enjoyed bathing in pools of water and taking showers in the waterfall out in the wilderness, her other favorite activities also included hiking and horseback riding as well as playing with various animals such as dogs and cats.
The princess walked past a couple of broken-down Guardian-Skywatchers near the hilltops and realized she was getting closer to the Spring of Wisdom, because the golden-haired princess was so preoccupied, Zelda failed to notice that someone was watching her from afar.
While she didn't notice, Zelda had a strange feeling that somebody was spying on her. It had been going on for a week now, when the princess woke up in the morning during a camp-out with Link, she was overcame with a strange feeling that she was being watched.
Later, she spotted someone in green standing on a mountain and playing a harp before vanishing into thin air. All those days later, the princess was wondering what the heck was going on.
Pushing through clumps of vines and weeds, Zelda entered the Spring of Wisdom, walking past the marble pillars, and ascended the small marble steps onto the platform surrounded by water near the statue of the Great Hylia standing over all.
Taking off her sandals and setting down her towel, the princess was just about to get in the water when a ghostly voice spoke behind her; "How are you, my brave and fearless descendant?"
Zelda turned and gasped. Standing right there in a long and flowing white dress, barefoot with golden long hair and blue eyes was the spirit of a very familiar female Hylian. "Who are you?" The princess asked.
"I am the ghost of your ancestor, Zelda, from the Skyloft era." The ghost replied.
Modern Zelda scratched her head, "And what do you want, Skyloft Zelda?"
The ghost glided up to Zelda and hugged her, "To talk with my descendant of course, in the years since the day Link and I moved on into the next realm, we have been watching Hyrule endure the many challenges facing it.
"We're proud of our descendants for standing up to the Dark Sorcerer Vaati and many others such as the reborn Demise known as Ganondorf. But whenever Hyrule seems to be ok when enough time has passed, that's when disaster and danger strike."
"Thanks." Current Zelda nodded, she hugged Skyloft Zelda back, "but, is there anything else you wanna tell me?"
Skyloft Zelda nodded her head solemnly, "You know how Ganon is the reincarnation of Demise? Well, we also may have underestimated the Demon King of ages long past as Link and I have sensed that a piece of Demise is still alive and we are concerned that he may be about to rise again."
Hearing the news seemed to terrify the current Zelda. "Don't worry about it for right now." Her ancestor said in an assuring manner, "Hyrule is safe, until something comes up, just relax. May we talk again soon, Zelda. Farewell for now."
Ghost Zelda vanished, leaving Current Zelda alone in the open early morning air, kicking her feet in the warm waters of the Wisdom Spring. 'Well,' She thought, 'Now I can finally bathe in peace with no more ghostly distractions.'
Even after Divine Beast Vah-Daruna was liberated from Ganon's dark influence and the Demon King himself was defeated, the Gorons' troubles were far from over as their mines were still cluttered and there were tons of remaining monster holdouts to take care of.
With or without Link and Zelda's help, Chief Stones did not hesitate to lead an all-out attack on a group of Bokoblins and Moblins, who were occupying the ruins of an ancient mining stronghold near the base of Death Mountain.
The current Goron Chief was strong and could take any hits without the attack being fatal. Who needed armor or shields anyway, especially when his body was sturdy and stone hard? But still, those Moblins and Bokoblins were annoying.
"You damn bastards!" Stones shouted as he hit a Red Bokoblin over the head with a spikey club, "Have a taste of Chief Stones, I hope you suffer in the underworld for what your master bestowed upon Hyrule!"
The Red Bokoblin toppled over and cried out as black blood poured from the wounds atop its head, another crushing blow from Stones and the demon exploded in dark malice. One angry Moblin came charging at Chief Stones, swinging its club and bellowing like mad.
"Oh no, you don't! Eat THIS!" Goron brothers Samyul the Sadistic and Jaksun the Terrifying yelled as they charged, swinging their special Megaton Hammers. KER BLAM! The two Gorons whacked the Moblin so hard, the big guy went flying.
The conflict in the mines between Chief Stones' forces and the Bokoblin-Moblin faction was hard fought and chaotic, while the monsters were taking high casualties, the Gorons were enduring very few casualties as the rock-eaters were strong and formidable.
Ever since nine o'clock in the morning, the battle had been unfolding almost nonstop. Thankfully, it was almost over and the Gorons were about to take back the entire area. Eventually, after pushing harder, the last of the enemies fell and their remains disappeared in a puff of shadowy smoke.
Stones' troops let out an excited cry of victory and were so busy punching the air with their fists and bro-fisting, they all failed to notice the presence of a creepy man with with white colored hair. "Well, boys? Why don't we go get out the good stuff?" Chief Stones asked excitedly.
As Chief Stones and most of his forces departed the area, only Jaksun, Bumpy and Samyul, stayed behind to take care of clean up duty. "Goro, goro!" Bumpy hummed to himself, he was so preoccupied with his job, he failed to notice the white-haired man.
That all changed when the creepy man stepped from the shadows and ambushed Jaksun and Samyul, Bumpy heard the sound of the two Gorons grunting and turned to see them fall over. He spotted the white-haired man and froze in fear, the man snapped his fingers and then vanished into thin air...
