The group met in the back of the ship looking at a map and the orb and Rocket on the ground digging through parts "Whats this?" Kara asked kneeling down and reaching for a device as he swatted her arm with little to no reaction "A bomb" Rocket replied as Kara "You need somewhere to keep it?" She asked reaching overhead for a bin and set it on the floor for him "Get your plant to put it back up there when you're done, got it?" She asked but it was more of an order
Kara stepped past Rocket and tapped Groot before moving to her bunk. Drax was behind her quickly and grabbed her wrist which met him with a quick punch to the jaw, sending him back a great deal as he rubbed his face "I only meant to ask you a question Kara, will you join me in the battle against Ronan?" He said through a throbbing jaw as Kara winced feeling bad.
"Of course, and Pete will come around too I just need to talk to him...get him to see this as more than a job but I want to make sure we get this sale through and then we'll get to fixing the Ronan conundrum"
Drax looked confused "This isn't a complex situation, it's quite simple. You and I over power and kill Ronan" he said blunty as Kara rolled her eyes and walked to her bunk "No Drax its not that easy" she spoke before her door shut behind her. As Boston's More than a Feeling played.
Peter looked at Gamora over the table as they got to talking. "So, listen, I'm gonna need your buyer's coordinates." Peter said, arms crossed while looking at the woman before him "We're heading in the right direction for now" Gamora replied picking up the orb.
"If we're gonna work together, you might want to try trusting me a little bit." Peter offered as Gamora smirked "How much do you trust me?"
Peter smirked and took the orb "I'd trust you alot more if you told me what this was, but I'm guessing it's some kind of weapon"
Drax picked up the orb as he returned which turned into a shouting match about alliances and money before Peter was able to squash that and turned to find Kara.
He knocked on the door before it opened "Hey Sis we need to talk about the orb. I don't want anyone but me carrying this into wherever it is we're headed" he said as Kara stepped out of the bathroom in a white Kryptonian skin suit that had the crest of El on it.
"So Gamora isn't telling you jack?" She asked as she grabbed her black pants from her closet and started to get dressed, Peter quickly turned his back while she wasn't naked Kara was still getting dressed as he turned the music down a bit, it has switched to Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive.
"No she's just saying we're headed in the right direction" he said blunty before sitting down at her desk and fiddling with her stuff idly
"Well if she isn't helpful as a Lantern" she laughed as she got her pink gear shift shirt on and chuckled "Yondu called, we talked for a bit. I told him that those freaks couldn't have eaten me if they tried, and that I'd have always protected you" she said stepping behind him as she placed her hand on his shoulder.
"I'd rather die than let my older brother get eaten by some purple freak or a Czarnian" she teased as she looked down at him, he put his hand on hers and smiled "I heard Drax ask you about Ronin. I'm guessing you volunteered me to tag along?" Peter smirked as he stood up "I didn't, but unless you wanna wait around off the ship while I let the rodent fly us around, then yeah you're coming" she smiled as he looked mildly annoyed at her.
"You keep messing around little miss and I'm calling starlight for help against Ronin" he said as he broke into a grin and Kara got annoyed "you couldn't call her if you tried, you made that shit up about having her comm link" Kara said crossing her arms as Peter looked down and his eyes got wide, a look of doubt washed over her face as she looked at him "Fine but if you call her I'm calling Rayner" she teased as Peter got flustered.
"Fine! No bodies calling anybody. We get the orb to the buyer and then we kick Ronan's ass and get clear of the mess afterwards..." Peter said offering the diplomatic solution as he kissed his finger and stuck it out to her, she did the same thing and they laughed, it reminded them of a simpler time as kids, as ravagers tricking people and stealing stuff, a time where they both got scared of what Kara could do, Yondu saw it too and wanted to dump her but Peter leveraged himself, proclaiming he wasn't going to leave her behind, not now, not ever.
"We're going to Knowhere" Drax looked at Peter and then Kara before Peter asked the obvious "We've gotta be going somewhere"
"Knowhere is a place. A severed head of a celestial being, it became a black market hub after mining colonies took over the head, my buyer lives there" Gamora said as Kara slumped into her pilot seat as her and Rocket set course.
"Hold Up" Kara said as she pumped the breaks
"We're here, whatever here is" Rocket muttered as Gamora, Drax and Peter stepped forward "What the hell is that?" Pete asked as Gamora stared forward and began to explain "It's called Knowhere. The severed head of an ancient celestial being." she stopped before looking at Kara.
"Be wary headed in, Kryptonian. There are no regulations whatsoever here. Hundreds of years ago, the Tivan Group sent workers in to mine the organic matter within the skull. The bone, brain tissue, spinal fluid. All rare resources, highly valued in black markets across the galaxy. It's dangerous and illegal work, suitable only for outlaws." she began to explain as they exited she ship Peter popped his jacket as Kara put hers on, no sun near this floating head so any fight she was getting into was gonna need to be short so she packed a blaster gun just incase.
"Well, I come from a planet of outlaws. Billy the Kid, Bonnie and Clyde and John Stamos." Peter boasted of Earth's heroes and Drax nodded "Sounds like a place I would like to visit some day." Drax added as Kara looked away and slowed down a bit, she knew what Peter had left of Terra was important to him but there was nothing left for her, no Krypton to go back and visit. Of course if there were she'd have never had the brother she does now.
"The Buyer is in the bar?" Pete asked as Gamora shook her head "No we have to wait for his representative" and the group quickly felt annoyed.
Drax most of which was annoyed "This is no respectable establishment. What do you expect us to do while we wait?"
"I'm going for a drink" Kara said as she began her stroll to the bar bar Rocket smirked "Now Blondie is speakin my language" he turn to look around as Drax, Groot and he followed.
