Wishful Sinking

When morning had came to, Kazuma realized he was sleeping back on the couch, with the bottle of wine from last night already having its contents emptied.
"Ugh, why'd I thought it was a good idea for me to drink like that" said Kazuma as he rubbed the side of his head, before he saw Darkness moving around in the kitchen.
"Darkness, is that you" said Kazuma, "It is, whenever you're ready to wake up, I've got water and electrolyte water on the counter here" said Darkness.
Picking himself up, Kazuma began to get off the couch and made his way into the kitchen to witness Darkness finish pouring out the last bit of alcoholic based beverage in the house down the sink.
"What are you doing" asked Kazuma as he began to drink both beverages simultaneously, "Let's just say I'm taking a necessary precaution" said Darkness as she looked at Kazuma with full amounts of seriousness.
"Heh, I thought that drunken poor assholes like me were your type" said Kazuma as Darkness instantly had a blush on her face.
"Well, yes that is true but… I worry about you for staying drunk for your previous love, so kinda defeats the purpose" said Darkness trying to regain her composure as she coughed in her fist.
"Sigh, well thanks I guess, granted I didn't really for see myself looking down at the end of a bottle on a daily given all this cost money but… thank you Darkness" said Kazuma as he was starting to feel a little better now.
Walking his way back into his bedroom, Kazuma could only do nothing but face plant himself back in bed and let out an annoyed sigh.
While he was grateful of Darkness' actions, she could've at least waited till he showed signs like an alcoholic before she got rid of all the booze, but then again it was for the best in the long run.
Turning his head, he looked at the scrap book Aqua had gone out of her way to salvage from the garbage and restore, as Kazuma reached out and looked at it.
While at first he looked at the photo's with happiness, he then saw all of this and was filled with resentment, but now, it brings him nothing but melancholy as he had so many friends, from so many worlds and they were all brought together here.
Sitting up, he looked at all the photo's he did have of all of his new friends, and remembered he still had to develop all the new one's from his new friends, before his mind drifted back to them.
Wonder how everyone else is doing, thought Kazuma as he looked outside his window as he knew that their lives are now equally painful and equally sad as to what happened.
With Naofumi
"Master, I'm finally getting use to these wheels" said Filo with a smile as her wheel chair came in shortly after the funeral and had spent all night and day getting use to them, and to no one's surprise was she a natural.
"That's great Filo, I'm happy to hear that" said Naofumi before he had heard a knock on the door.
"Wonder who could that be" said Naofumi as he made his way to answer the door only to be greeted by the last person he wanted to see, since he was one of the few unfortunate people that no one liked who managed to survive their little civil war, but Naofumi took solace knowing he didn't leave unharmed.
"Greetings Naofumi" said Motoyasu as the left side of his face had been scarred, while his left arm was no longer there along with him walking around with a cane now.
"You have some real balls to show your face around here" said Naofumi with venom, "I understand that you're angry and rightly so, however I only came here to bury the hatchet with you" said Motoyasu.
"I'd like to bury the hatchet right between your eyes" said Naofumi under his breath, "What was that" said Motoyasu as he genuinely couldn't hear him, in part of his ego, and the fact he slightly lost his hearing.
"Filo, I'll be outside for a minute" called Naofumi as he began to step outside to chat with Motoyasu and not get Filo involved.
"I'll be blunt and say you have nothing that could get me to forgive you, nor am I interested in wasting my breath insulting you" said Naofumi, "You are right on that one, however this has been weighing down on my conscience for a while now, so…" said Motoyasu before Naofumi cut him off.
"Now you want to apologize to me, after you and everyone working on behalf of the school decided to not only kidnap, but brainwashed or forced us into fighting on your guys' behalf" said Naofumi as he patience was running thin.
"You know, it wouldn't have been so bad if we all came out of that ordeal alive and in one piece, but instead you all had the nerve to turn Filo and Raphtalia against me, which I'm certain was fucking dream come true to you" said Naofumi as he was getting up in the spear heroes face.
"But no, not one of us came out of that whole ordeal alive, and for us who did, we have to live with knowing that our friends are gone and there's no way to bringing them back, so you know what go do me and everyone else favor and fuck off, and if you or that phony sword hero guy of your dares to show your face around here or towards Kazuma ever again, I'll personally bury you both in the ground alive and breathing" said Naofumi as he finally let out all of his frustration as Motoyasu remains stoic.
"Feeling better now that you got that off your chest" said Motoyasu calmly, "No, your skirt chasing womanizer and a mediocre hero, your father was a gopher, and your mother smelled of after shave" said Naofumi.
"Hmm, was expecting you insult me based on my disfigurement, but hey way to prove me wrong I guess" said Motoyasu, "I maybe an asshole but I ain't no degenerate" said Naofumi.
"I can agree to that, just like how I can agree that you're truly a better man than any of us, and I'm sorry for having to hurt you and your family Naofumi, as such you have my word you won't dare see me come near here or your friend Kazuma" said Motoyasu with a smile.
"Goodbye Naofumi" said Motoyasu as he began to turn heel and walk his way back home as Naofumi saw him off before letting out a deep breath and relaxing his shoulders.
I hate that guy, thought Naofumi as Motoyasu finally learned how to man up and frankly can't hate the guy for that, while accepting his apology.
But even then, nothing was ever going to change or bring back the fact that he's lost Raphtalia, his own daughter practically who died right as she gained her own self control and freedom.
Now alone Naofumi took the moment to let out some silent tears that he had bottled up for a while now, wishing there was something that could be done to cause some sort of change.
With Yuri
The battle against the school had hit them hard on a whole new level, especially since never in all her years that's she's witnessed her fellow guild members died, did they stay dead for more than a couple of hours.
No sadly they're all dead, and not only her main troops, her entourage, her closest group of friends only were they dead, but their entire army they had across the city and even their weapons factory members are they dead, and I mean that everyone was dead.
It wasn't until after the battle did Yuri took into the account of the weapons that had been used in the battle, did she realized that the bullets that had been used and any blade that was used wasn't made of the same everyday materials as before.
Far from it, the weapons that had been used was made up of an unknown metal that Yuri has yet to figure out, but hopefully with the help of everyone else she could at least find an answer what they are and where they came from.
Otherwise she's taken small periods in between her research to stay in touch with her surviving guild members of the 'Survivor Battlefront'.
In the ensuing conflict, besides her, the only ones who came out relatively unscaved were Tachibana and Yui, since Otonashi is dealing with a broken arm that's yet to have healed and Hinata is bed ridden since he took 3 bullet wounds to the chest, and was thankful to have survived.
Still it was a real close call for them, but Yuri was glad to have the one's she considers to be her closest friends to be alive.
So right now was one of those moments where she finished doing her research for the day and was about to leave the school grounds, that is until she was called by a familiar voice.
"Yuri" called Tanya from the other side of the hall, "Major, how's it been" asked Yuri as both woman headed towards each other.
"Depends on what you're really asking about, though to answer any questions regarding my eye here, I've gotten quite use to seeing things with only one eye" said Tanya.
"Can I be the first to say the eye patch looks really suits you makes you twice as intimidating" said Yuri, "Why thank you, I thought the same thing when I saw the look on the eyes on the school faculty" said Tanya.
"Yeah, I've been meaning to give those ass hats a chat if you know what I mean" said Yuri, "I getcha, however I already had my own conversation with them not that long ago" said Tanya.
"Anything worth mentioning that doesn't involve them giving a meaningless condolence" said Yuri, "They did to an extent actually" said Tanya as she got Yuri's full attention.
"Any knowledge or information you have that can be shared with me is both highly important and appreciated" said Yuri as Tanya began to smirk.
"Let's step out of this dump and talk this over on some lunch, on me of course" said Tanya as they both began to walk out of the school, leaving it more darker and more damning than usual.
With Shinichi
The battle had hit them all pretty hard, but it hit no one more harder than Petralka who like Shinichi was forced to sit out since neither one could offer any kind of support in their civil war or the fight against the Destroyer.
As such it broke her heart not to be by her cousins side upon his dying breath, that she's since spent her time brooding and truly evolving into a true NEET like some of their other friends.
Being sympathetic, Shinichi convinced everyone to leave her in his care, while also diverging Petralka off the path of a full on shut in, since she's got a reason to live life outside of the house.
"Your highness, master Shinichi I brought you both some hot tea and some sandwiches to eat" came the voice of Myucel as she had some bandages wrapped around her head.
"Thanks Myucel, how are you feeling by the way" asked Shinichi, "I'm doing better honestly, just having this wrapped up is but merely an extra precaution until the stitches heal up" said Myucel.
"That's good to hear" said Shinichi, "Anyways, master I've been meaning to ask, that is" said Myucel as her eyes fell on Petralka as she's been wearing nothing but her pajamas for the past few days, while playing Fallout: New Vegas' DLC Honest Hearts.
"She's still hurt, but if we give her some time, I was thinking that at some point I'd get her to read something that tackles emotional grief amongst family, and work my way from there" said Shinichi in a quiet voice.
"I trust you and your better judgment master" said Myucel, "Thank you, on that note how's Elbia doing and our new roommates" asked Shinichi as he was referring to Shiro and Sora.
During their fight against the Destroyer, the neighborhood that everyone lived in got heavily damaged, but none more so that both Sora's and Shiro's home.
Feeling bad for their friends who were in heavy need of a home to stay since they can't make it on their own, like literally, Shinichi offered them a place to stay under his roof.
"They're doing well, just like her highness here, they hardly leave their room, though honestly they don't seem as sad, that is, haven't shown much emotion since the funeral" said Myucel.
Hearing that did leave Shinichi concerned, but he unfortunately can't tackle with everyone's problem at once since he'd be unable to help anybody at that point.
"Keep a close eye on them, and if something is truly concerning, do not hesitate to get me" said Shinichi, "Understood master" said Myucel as she left Shinichi alone with Petralka and hope for the best.
Satou Household
Having already gone through cleaning out the kitchen, Darkness had decided to go through the extra mile and decided to clean the rest of the house.
While she considered it easy to clean the kitchen and living room, she found cleaning Megumin's and Aqua's room to be challenge.
Knowing that at some point she is going to have to clean it all out, for the time being she took a few minutes to stay in their rooms and reminisce on the good old days as they things they own truly pop out and speak of their friends characters.
But none spoke out more than what Darkness found on Aqua's desk, as she placed her hand over her chest and truly began to feel bad for Kazuma even more.
Speaking of, Kazuma was currently letting out light tears of missing Aqua as he had came to the realization that while he was her shore to her tidal waves of misfortune and bitching, now it was the other way around before her death, which he felt was really unfair, since looking back she was the best thing to ever happen to him.
Even when you remove the emotional baggage behind it, Aqua was seriously the best hard working companion during their times of peace, and even when they insulted each other, they'd never want the other to be gone.
Eventually Kazuma was broken from his stupor when he heard a knock on the door.
"Doors open" said Kazuma as Darkness let herself in, "Hey Kazuma, is now a bad time" asked Darkness, "No, everything's good why what's up".
"Well it's just that I might have something of interest to you that you'd be thankful to have" said Darkness as Kazuma raised his brow.
Alright guys, 2nd chapter is done and up so I hope you guys enjoyed it so far.
Otherwise guys to everyone who's been following me back in my old account, I forgot to add in the first chapter that I'm back after I decided to go and publish my second book, which means I got time to start all over again.
I know it doesn't change much guys, but understand there was just a lot of things going on when I got locked out of my old account, which I can honestly say there was no means to ever getting it back, so I am sorry for having to close the curtains to all of those stories I couldn't have finished at the time.
Maybe there's a chance of me coming back and republishing and finishing where I left off, who knows guys, it just might happen.
Until next time, be safe, be good people, and please support your local fandom communities.
This has been your Humble Narrator and official author Tobi Yaza. =3
