Boss kept being summoned while he slept. Mac watched the call ring out, taking note of the caller. The Section Chief, again.
As soon as the call ended, the communications device lit up again. The Section Chief.
Mac glanced at Boss, who hadn't moved at all by any of the previous calls. Mac's platoon members had been light sleepers, but even then, they hadn't wanted their sleep disturbed.
Humans did need more sleep than him, and waking them before their full REM cycle had finished would result in grogginess and affect their concentration.
The communications device lit up again.
He would wait until Boss woke up before informing him about what he'd missed.
